The article examines a special genre of literature, namely the genre of literary criticism. It is shown that the author can in different ways attract the reader’s attention to his poetics and aesthetic program. German writer A. Zegers is one of the outstanding masters of socialist realism. This article discusses the story «Meeting in the Way», taken from one of the last works of the writer – the book «Strange meeting» («Sonderbare Begegnungen», 1972). For example, the story of A. Zegers revealed the use of a special artistic technique, borrowed from another genre of literature – a biographical novel. Multiworldness and layering worlds portrayed in the story cause its originality as the reader is easy to get lost in the world of fiction created by A. Zegers, that flows into the realities of her characters. The purpose of this technique is to analyze the poetics of three writers who, no doubt, influenced the author. Literary criticism – a special kind of creativity, less stringent in the estimates, more emotional and confidence in relation to the subject of critical study. On the basis of research the author revealed genre features writing literary criticism and discusses biographical elements used to represent the fictitious world of art.
