10. PR Internal Mode Extended State Observer-Based Iterative Learning Control for Thrust Ripple Suppression of PMLSM Drives

Abstract

Permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) suffers from inherent thrust ripples, which cause vibration and noise and worsen the control performance. In this article, an iterative learning thrust ripple suppression method based on a proportional resonant internal model extended state observer (PR-IMESO) is proposed for PMLSM drives. A P-type iterative learning controller (PILC) with the forgetting factor is constructed to suppress the detent force which is the main component of thrust ripples and periodic force ripples. On this basis, PR-IMESO is constructed to further suppress the detent force and the residual disturbance in thrust ripples. In addition, the convergence, stability, and parameter sensitivity of the suppression method are analyzed. The proposed PR-IMESO-based PILC suppression method can suppress thrust ripples of PMLSM pertinently according to their characteristics to achieve overall control performance improvement. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified on a 750-W PMLSM experimental platform.

11. A DC Offset Reduction of Neutral Point Voltage Strategy Based on Vector Phase Angle Difference Optimization for Vienna Rectifier With Bipolar DC Bus

Abstract

When Vienna rectifier operates at light load conditions, small load power difference of bipolar dc bus leads to dc offset of neutral point (NP) voltage due to the limitation of dc-link power, increasing the voltage stress on switching devices. To solve this problem, a dc offset reduction of NP voltage strategy based on the vector phase angle difference (VPAD) optimization is proposed. By analyzing the relationship between the magnitude of zero-sequence component and the duty cycles of voltage vectors, the maximum power difference of the conventional strategy is obtained. The proposed strategy illustrates that VPAD can adjust the NP current based on the contour of the NP current, and the maximum VPAD is limited to satisfy the reference voltage and input current have the same sign. To increase the NP current, the VPAD is optimized by introducing the fluctuating reactive current, and the active current disturbance is injected to regulate the change rate of NP current. Therefore, the proposed strategy can significantly reduce the dc offset of NP voltage under light load conditions at the cost of the input current harmonics and the dc-link voltage fluctuation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified on a Vienna rectifier platform.

16. Harmonic Suppression Based on Rectified Current Regulation With DC-Link Voltage Decoupling for Electrolytic Capacitorless PMSM Drives

Abstract

Harmonics suppression for grid currents is a key issue in electrolytic capacitorless permanent magnet synchronous motor drives. In this article, a strategy based on rectified current regulation with dc-link voltage decoupling (RCR-DVD) is proposed to enhance the harmonics suppression performance of grid currents. The small-signal model of the drive with RCR is built to reveal the disturbance caused by the dc-link voltage and digital control delay, which may reduce the harmonics suppression capability and lead to stability issue. Then, the RCR-DVD is proposed to decouple the voltage disturbances from rectified current control loop for better harmonics suppression performance. Specifically, the voltage decoupling is realized by main harmonics prediction and proportional resonance controllers. The amplitude of grid-side input impedance can be increased compared with RCR, which means lower grid current harmonics. Experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

17. Common-Mode Voltage Reduction Modulation Strategy Based on Nearest Four Voltage Vectors Optimization for Vienna Rectifier

Abstract

In Vienna rectifier, amplitude of the common mode voltage (CMV), fluctuation of the neutral point (NP) voltage, and harmonics of the input current are mutually coupled, making it difficult to balance these performances using the conventional strategy. A novel CMV-reduction modulation strategy based on the nearest four voltage vectors optimization is proposed, which can simultaneously decrease the NP voltage fluctuation and the input current harmonics. First, the issue of large switch-order harmonics in input current using the conventional strategy is analyzed according to the characteristics of the current ripple vector trajectory. The proposed strategy adopts four voltage vectors with low CMV amplitudes, which are nearest to the reference voltage vector. The duty cycles are distributed by the zero-sequence component to ensure that the average NP current is zero, which can reduce the NP voltage fluctuation and CMV simultaneously. Furthermore, to reduce switch-order harmonics and zero-crossing distortion of the input current, the optimal switching sequence is obtained by permutation and combination to minimize the vector synthesis error of the reference voltage. The duty cycles are optimized by limiting the range of zero-sequence component to eliminate the large voltage vector. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified on a Vienna rectifier platform.

36. Optimized Carrier-Based DPWM Strategy Adopting Self-Adjusted Redundant Clamping Modes for Vienna Rectifiers With Unbalanced DC Links.

Abstract

When the Vienna rectifier operates at unbalanced dc links, the conventional carried-based discontinuous pulsewidth modulation (CB-DPWM) strategy suffers from the neutral point (NP) voltage fluctuation and the input current distortion. An optimized CB-DPWM strategy adopting self-adjusted redundant clamping modes is proposed in this article to solve the above issues. To reduce the input current distortion under unbalanced dc links, the modulation waves of CB-DPWM are modified according to the subsector redivision, and the limited operation region can be obtained. To extend the operation range of the Vienna rectifier, the voltage vector trajectory of CB-DPWM is optimized combined with the current error minimization and the voltage loss area compensation. To minimize the NP voltage fluctuation, the redundant clamping modes under unbalanced dc links are self-adjusted in real time according to the unbalanced degree. Moreover, the NP voltage fluctuation of the proposed strategy is evaluated by the root mean square of the NP current fluctuation. Abstract

In the high-frequency (HF) signal injection based position sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives, there is an estimated position error caused by the cross-saturation effect and other factors. In order to suppress the position error, an HF injection angle self-adjustment based online suppression method is proposed in this letter. By tracking the sign of the increment of the absolute back electromotive force in the estimated frame, the criterion of the HF injection angle self-adjustment can be determined online and the position error can be mitigated effectively. This method can avoid the offline measurement or the variation of the operating state, which has a satisfactory suppression effect for the position error under different operating conditions. Abstract

The errors of gain and offset caused by the current sensor measurement can lead to the first and second harmonics in dq-axis currents of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. An adaptive-frequency harmonic suppression strategy based on the vector reconstruction for current measurement error is proposed. The dq-axis current vector is recoordinate transformed using the division-frequency position as the transformation matrix angle. Thus, the frequency of the fundamental component can be decoupled from that of the harmonics in the current vector. In this way, the single-frequency harmonic suppressor can be established in the reconstructed coordinate frame. The current vector error is converged by adaptively adjusting the filtering weight and frequency so as to eliminate the harmonics. In view of the change of fundamental frequency, the variable step of the convergence is used to obtain the ideal filtering effect at different speeds and reduce the negative impact of current sensor measurement errors. Abstract

Because of the time-sharing sampling logic, the three-phase currents reconstructed by single dc-link shunt present significant errors in the permanent magnet synchronous motor drives. A traceback-prediction current correction method for sampled currents is proposed in this article to eliminate the reconstruction errors. According to the analysis of time-sharing sampling errors, the concept of equivalent current change rate during one pulsewidth modulation (PWM) period is introduced, and the phase current characteristic model based on state observer is established. Both the equivalent and instantaneous current change rates can be obtained by the observer-based calculation method. In order to improve the current reconstruction precision, the ultimate values of three-phase currents can be predicted by adopting the proposed traceback-prediction current correction method, which does not require major computation and is easy to implement with no restrictions on the PWM strategy.
