DIffuse X-ray Explorer (DIXE) is a proposed high-resolution X-ray spectroscopic sky surveyor on the China Space Station (CSS). DIXE will focus on studying hot baryons in the Milky Way. Galactic hot baryons like the X-ray emitting Milky Way halo and eROSITA bubbles are best observed in the sky survey mode with a large field of view. DIXE will take advantage of the orbital motion of the CSS to scan a large fraction of the sky. High-resolution X-ray spectroscopy, enabled by superconducting microcalorimeters based on the transition-edge sensor (TES) technology, will probe the physical properties (e.g., temperature, density, elemental abundances, kinematics) of the Galactic hot baryons. This will complement the high-resolution imaging data obtained with the eROSITA mission. Here we present the preliminary design of DIXE. The payload consists mainly of a detector assembly and a cryogenic cooling system. The key components of the detector assembly are a microcalorimeter array and frequency-domain multiplexing readout electronics. Virtual try-on and product personalization have become increasingly important in modern online shopping, highlighting the need for accurate body measurement estimation. Although previous research has advanced in estimating 3D body shapes from RGB images, the task is inherently ambiguous as the observed scale of human subjects in the images depends on two unknown factors: capture distance and body dimensions. This ambiguity is particularly pronounced in partial-view scenarios. To address this challenge, we propose a modular and simple height normalization solution. This solution relocates the subject skeleton to the desired position, thereby normalizing the scale and disentangling the relationship between the two variables. Our experimental results demonstrate that integrating this technique into state-of-the-art human mesh reconstruction models significantly enhances partial body measurement estimation. Molecules and materials are the foundation for the development of modern advanced industries such as energy storage systems and semiconductor devices. However, traditional trial-and-error methods or theoretical calculations are highly resource-intensive, and extremely long R&D (Research and Development) periods cannot meet the urgent need for molecules/materials in industrial development. Machine learning (ML) methods based on big data are expected to break this dilemma. However, the difficulty in constructing large-scale datasets of new molecules/materials due to the high cost of data acquisition and annotation limits the development of machine learning. The application of transfer learning lowers the data requirements for model training, which makes transfer learning stand out in researches addressing data quality issues. In this review, we summarize recent advances in transfer learning related to molecular and materials science. We focus on the application of transfer learning methods for the discovery of advanced molecules/materials, particularly, the construction of transfer learning frameworks for different systems, and how transfer learning can enhance the performance of models. This article demonstrates a new kind of programmable logic for the representation of an integer that can be used for the programmable Josephson voltage standard. It can enable the numbers of junctions in most bits to be variable integer values, which is different from normal binary logic or ternary logic. Consequently, missing junctions due to superconducting short circuits can be tolerated under this logic. This logic can also have nearly the same segmentation efficiency as ternary logic. The completeness of the sequences using this logic is proven by the recursive method in mathematics in this paper. After that, a new algorithm for the representation of integers is presented according to the proven process, and an analysis of the number of fault-tolerant junctions for each bit is provided. Although the first and second bits are not tolerant to missing junctions, bits beyond these can tolerate one to hundreds of missing junctions. Due to the non-fixed multiples between the bits of the sequence, this logic is called non-integer-multiple logic. Finally, the design and fabrication of a 3 V programmable Josephson junction array using this logic are described, and the measurements and analysis of the characteristic parameters are presented.

Reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) has been extensively employed to align large language models with user intent. However, proximal policy optimization (PPO) based RLHF is occasionally unstable requiring significant hyperparameter finetuning, and computationally expensive to maximize the estimated reward during alignment. Recently, direct preference optimization (DPO) is proposed to address those challenges. However, DPO relies on contrastive responses generated from human annotator and alternative LLM, instead of the policy model, limiting the effectiveness of the RLHF. In this paper, we addresses both challenges by systematically combining rejection sampling (RS) and DPO. Our proposed method, RS-DPO, initiates with the development of a supervised fine-tuned policy model (SFT). A varied set of k responses per prompt are sampled directly from the SFT model. RS-DPO identifies pairs of contrastive samples based on their reward distribution. Finally, we apply DPO with the contrastive samples to align the model to human preference. Our experiments indicate that our proposed method effectively fine-tunes LLMs with limited resource environments, leading to improved alignment with user intent. Superconductivity is a macroscopic quantum phenomenon and it is commonly believed that the in-plane superconducting transition temperature (Tc) should be isotropic for superconductors with crystal structures of stacking layers (quasi two-dimensional). Here, we report the observation of piezostrain-induced in-plane anisotropy of Tc in FeSe0.5Te0.5 (FST) thin films grown on ferroelectrics. The as-prepared FST shows tetragonal phase with equal in-plane lattice parameters and absence of in-plane anisotropy of Tc. Upon applying electric fields, piezostrain induces difference of the in-plane lattice parameters (a-b) and in-plane anisotropy of Tc. The in-plane anisotropy of Tc correlates with a-b and becomes more remarkable for larger values of a-b. Some possible extrinsic effects were ruled out by experiments and analysis. It is suggested that electronic nematicity with one direction induced by piezostrain and inhomogeneous superconductivity in FST are involved in this unusual phenomenon. The development of modern civil industry, energy and information technology is inseparable from the rapid explorations of new materials, which are hampered by months to years of painstaking attempts, resulting in only a small fraction of materials being determined in a vast chemical space. Artificial intelligence (AI)-based methods are promising to address this gap, but face many challenges such as data scarcity and inaccurate material descriptor coding. Here, we develop an AI platform, AlphaMat, that connects materials and applications. AlphaMat is not limited by the data scale (from 101 to 106) and can design structural and component descriptors that are effective for docking with various AI models. With prediction time of milliseconds and high accuracy, AlphaMat exhibits strong powers to model at least 12 common attributes (formation energy, band gap, ionic conductivity, magnetism, phonon property, bulk modulus, dielectric constant, adsorption energy, etc.), resulting in an unexplored material database with over 117,000 entries. We further demonstrate the ability of AlphaMat to mine and design materials, which successfully discover thousands of new materials in photonics, batteries, catalysts, and capacitors from the largest inorganic compound databases that cover all elements in periodic table. This work proposes the first material informatics hub that does not require users to have strong programming knowledge to build AI models to design materials. Users can either directly retrieve our database or easily build AI models through AlphaMat to discover and design the required materials. AlphaMat can shorten the cycle of database construction and material discovery by at least decades, and its effective use will facilitate the applications of AI technology in material science and lead scientific and technological progress to a new height.

Fuzzy skill multimaps can describe individuals' knowledge states from the perspective of latent cognitive abilities. The significance of discriminative knowledge structure is reducing repeated testing and the workload for students, which responds to the so-called `double reduction policy'. As an application in knowledge assessment, the bi-discriminative knowledge structure is useful for evaluating `relative independence' items or knowledge points. Moreover, it is of great significance that which kind of fuzzy skill multimap delineates a discriminative or bi-discriminative knowledge structure. Moreover, we give a characterization of fuzzy skill multimaps such that the delineated knowledge structures are knowledge spaces, learning spaces and simple closure spaces respectively. Further, there are some interesting applications in the meshing of the delineated knowledge structures and the distributed fuzzy skill multimaps. We also give a more precise analysis with regard to the separability (resp. bi-separability) on which condition the information collected within a local assessment can reflect an assessment at the global level, and which condition any of the local domains can localize from given global assessment., Comment: 18

We systematically study some basic properties of the theory of pre-topological spaces, such as, pre-base, subspace, axioms of separation, connectedness, etc. Pre-topology is also known as knowledge space in the theory of knowledge structures. We discuss the language of axioms of separation of pre-topology in the theory of knowledge spaces, the relation of Alexandroff spaces and quasi ordinal spaces, and the applications of the density of pre-topological spaces in primary items for knowledge spaces. In particular, we give a characterization of a skill multimap such that the delineate knowledge structure is a knowledge space, which gives an answer to a problem in \cite{falmagne2011learning} or \cite{XGLJ} whenever each item with finitely many competencies; moreover, we give an algorithm to find the set of atom primary items for any finite knowledge spaces., Comment: 52 pages

In this paper, the reachability of dimension-bounded linear systems is investigated.Since state dimensions of dimension-bounded linear systems vary with time, the expression of state dimension at each time is provided.A method for judging the reachability of a given vector space is proposed. In addition, this paper proves that the t-step reachable subset is a linear space, and gives a computing method. The t-step reachability of a given state is verified via a rank condition. Furthermore, annihilator polynomials are discussed and used to illustrate the relationship between the invariant space and the reachable subset after the invariant time point t*. The inclusion relation between reachable subsets at times t*+i and t*+j is shown via an example.
