Active fault zones are critical pathways for the migration of deep fluids to the Earth's surface, carrying gases such as He, Rn, and CO2 that provide evidence for the physical and chemical dynamics of the Earth's interior. This review examines the geochemical characteristics of fault zone gases and their implications for understanding fault activity and seismic events. Fault zones with high activity levels exhibit significant gas release, and variations in soil and hot spring gas concentrations can serve as indicators of seismic activity. Changes in gas concentrations and isotopic ratios, particularly before and after earthquakes, reflect the dynamic interplay between deep-sourced and shallow-sourced fluids. Seismic-induced stress alterations enhance gas release along fault zones, leading to observable anomalies that can aid in earthquake monitoring and prediction. The study underscores the importance of isotope tracing in deciphering fluid sources, migration pathways, and the evolution of fault zones, providing valuable information for assessing tectonic activity and mitigating seismic risks. Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose is a major cause of drug‐induced liver injury. Sirtuins 5 (SIRT5) has been implicated in the development of various liver diseases. However, its involvement in APAP‐induced acute liver injury (AILI) remains unclear. The present study aimed to explore the role of SIRT5 in AILI. SIRT5 expression is dramatically downregulated by APAP administration in mouse livers and AML12 hepatocytes. SIRT5 deficiency not only exacerbates liver injury and the inflammatory response, but also worsens mitochondrial oxidative stress. Conversely, the opposite pathological and biochemical changes are observed in mice with SIRT5 overexpression. Mechanistically, quantitative succinylome analysis and site mutation experiments revealed that SIRT5 desuccinylated aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) at lysine 385 and maintained the enzymatic activity of ALDH2, resulting in the suppression of inflammation and mitochondrial oxidative stress. Furthermore, succinylation of ALDH2 at lysine 385 abolished its protective effect against AILI, and the protective effect of SIRT5 against AILI is dependent on the desuccinylation of ALDH2 at K385. Finally, virtual screening of natural compounds revealed that Puerarin promoted SIRT5 desuccinylase activity and further attenuated AILI. Collectively, the present study showed that the SIRT5‐ALDH2 axis plays a critical role in AILI progression and might be a strategy for therapeutic intervention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Simple Summary: In China, in addition to green tides and red tides, outbreaks of Cnidaria (jellyfish organisms), Annelida (Urechis unicinctus Drasche, 1880), Mollusca (Philine kinglipini S. Tchang, 1934), Arthropoda (Acetes chinensis Hansen, 1919), and Echinodermata (Asteroidea organisms (commonly known as starfish), Ophiuroidea organisms, and Acaudina molpadioides Semper, 1867) not only damage marine resources, tourism, coastal industries, and navigation but also profoundly impact ecosystems near nuclear plants, beaches, and infrastructures, endangering human lives. This article suggests measures to mitigate future disasters, emphasizing enhanced monitoring and integration into China's marine ecological disaster monitoring system. This review is conducive to enhancing researchers' comprehension and reflection regarding biological disasters in marine ecosystems. Owing to global climate change or the ever-more frequent human activities in the offshore areas, it is highly probable that an imbalance in the offshore ecosystem has been induced. However, the importance of maintaining and protecting marine ecosystems' balance cannot be overstated. In recent years, various marine disasters have occurred frequently, such as harmful algal blooms (green tides and red tides), storm surge disasters, wave disasters, sea ice disasters, and tsunami disasters. Additionally, overpopulation of certain marine organisms (particularly marine faunas) has led to marine disasters, threatening both marine ecosystems and human safety. The marine ecological disaster monitoring system in China primarily focuses on monitoring and controlling the outbreak of green tides (mainly caused by outbreaks of some Ulva species) and red tides (mainly caused by outbreaks of some diatom and dinoflagellate species). Currently, there are outbreaks of Cnidaria (Hydrozoa and Scyphozoa organisms; outbreak species are frequently referred to as jellyfish), Annelida (Urechis unicinctus Drasche, 1880), Mollusca (Philine kinglipini S. Tchang, 1934), Arthropoda (Acetes chinensis Hansen, 1919), and Echinodermata (Asteroidea organisms, Ophiuroidea organisms, and Acaudina molpadioides Semper, 1867) in China. They not only cause significant damage to marine fisheries, tourism, coastal industries, and ship navigation but also have profound impacts on marine ecosystems, especially near nuclear power plants, sea bathing beaches, and infrastructures, posing threats to human lives. Therefore, this review provides a detailed introduction to the marine organisms (especially marine fauna species) causing marine biological disasters in China, the current outbreak situations, and the biological backgrounds of these outbreaks. This review also provides an analysis of the causes of these outbreaks. Furthermore, it presents future prospects for marine biological disasters, proposing corresponding measures and advocating for enhanced resource utilization and fundamental research. It is recommended that future efforts focus on improving the monitoring of marine biological disasters and integrating them into the marine ecological disaster monitoring system. The aim of this review is to offer reference information and constructive suggestions for enhancing future monitoring, early warning systems, and prevention efforts related to marine ecological disasters in support of the healthy development and stable operation of marine ecosystems. The correct individual tree segmentation of the forest is necessary for extracting the additional information of trees, such as tree height, crown width, and other tree parameters. With the development of LiDAR technology, the research method of individual tree segmentation based on point cloud data has become a focus of the research community. In this work, the research area is located in an underground coal mine in Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province, China. Vegetation information with and without leaves in this coal mining area are obtained with airborne LiDAR to conduct the research. In this study, we propose hybrid clustering technique by combining DBSCAN and K-means for segmenting individual trees based on airborne LiDAR point cloud data. First, the point cloud data are processed for denoising and filtering. Then, the pre-processed data are projected to the XOY plane for DBSCAN clustering. The number and coordinates of clustering centers are obtained, which are used as an input for K-means clustering algorithm. Finally, the results of individual tree segmentation of the forest in the mining area are obtained. The simulation results and analysis show that the new method proposed in this paper outperforms other methods in forest segmentation in mining area. This provides effective technical support and data reference for the study of forest in mining areas.

To clarify the main species and infection types of tobacco viral diseases in Anshun tobacco growing areas of Guizhou Province, 306 diseased samples with symptoms such as mosaic, necrotic veins, abnormal shapes, lightning spots, and yellow spots were collected from Anshun tobacco growing areas in 2023. RT-PCR was performed using specific primers for 5 major viral diseases of tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), potato Y virus (PVY), tobacco vein banding mosaic virus (TVBMV) and chilli veinal mottle virus (ChiVMV), and the detection rates of the viruses were calculated and the mixed infection types were analyzed. The results showed that the total detection rate of the viral diseases was 89.87%, and among all the diseases, TMV (81.70%)ranked the highest, followed by ChiVMV (67.97%), and CMV ranked the lowest (16.34%). The main type of infection was mixed infection with a detection rate of 68.30% . Among them, ChiVMV + TMV was the main type with a detection rate of 22.88%, followed by ChiVMV+TMV+TVBMV, ChiVMV+TMV+PVY, and ChiVMV+ TMV+CMV with detection rates of 11.11%, 10.46%, and 9.15%, respectively. TMV and ChiVMV were the dominant viral species of the tobacco viral diseases from the area, mixed infection occurred frequently and ChiVMV+TMV was the main mixed type. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A low‐thermal‐budget fabrication approach is developed to realize high‐performance fluorine‐doped indium oxide (In2O3:F) thin‐film transistors (TFTs) with remarkable bias‐stress stability. The ultrathin transistor channel layer is prepared by a re‐developed atomic layer deposition (ALD) process of using cyclopentadienyl indium(I) (InCp) and O2 plasma to deposit a crystalline In2O3 film, followed by a new fluorine doping strategy to use CF4 plasma to afford the In2O3:F layer. As revealed by the density functional theory (DFT) analysis, the fluorine doping can stabilize the lattice oxygen and electrically passivate the problematic VO defects in In2O3 by forming the FOFi spectator defects. Therefore, the fabricated In2O3:F TFTs show simultaneously excellent electrical performance and remarkable bias‐stress stability, with high µFE of 35.9 cm2 V−1 s−1, positive Vth of 0.36 V, steep SS of 94.3 mV dec−1, small hysteresis of 33 mV, and small ΔVth of −111 and 49 mV under NBS and PBS, respectively. This work demonstrates the high promise of the fluorinated ALD In2O3:F TFTs for the CMOS back‐end‐of‐line (BEOL) compatible technologies toward advanced monolithic 3D integration. The electroreduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) to multi‐carbon (C2+) compounds offers a viable approach for the up‐conversion of greenhouse gases into valuable fuels and feedstocks. Nevertheless, current industrial applications face limitations due to unsatisfactory conversion efficiency and high overpotential. Herein, a facile and scalable plasma fluorination method is reported. Concurrently, self‐evolution during CO2 electroreduction is employed to control the active sites of Cu catalysts. The copper catalyst modified with fluorine exhibits an impressive C2+ Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 81.8% at a low potential of −0.56 V (vs a reversible hydrogen electrode) in an alkaline flow cell. The presence of modified fluorine leads to the exposure and stabilization of high‐activity Cu+ species, enhancing the adsorption of *CO intermediates and the generation of *CHO, facilitating the subsequent dimerization. This results in a notably improved conversion efficiency of 13.1% and a significant reduction in the overpotential (≈100 mV) for the C2+ products. Furthermore, a superior C2+ FE of 81.6% at 250 mA cm−2, coupled with an energy efficiency of 31.0%, can be achieved in a two‐electrode membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer utilizing the fluorine‐modified copper catalyst. Under the background of the ecological civilization era, rapidly obtaining coal mining information, timely assessing the ecological environmental impacts, and drafting different management and protection measures in advance to enhance the capacity of green mine construction have become the urgent technical problems to be solved at present. Simulating and analyzing mining subsidence is the foundation for a land reclamation plan. The Cellular Automata (CA) model provides a new tool for simulating the evolution of mining subsidence. This paper takes a mine in East China as a research area, analyses the methods and measures for developing a model of mining subsidence based on the theories of CA and mining technology, then discusses the results of simulation from different aspects. Through comparative analysis, it can be found that the predicted result is well consonant with the observation data. The CA model can simulate complex systems. The system of mining subsidence evolution CA is developed with the support of ArcGIS and Python, which can help to realize data management, visualization, and spatial analysis. The dynamic evolution of subsidence provides a basis for constructing a reclamation program. The research results show that the research methods and techniques adopted in this paper are feasible for the dynamic mining subsidence, and the work will continue to do in the future to help the construction of ecological civilization in mining areas.
