Various charged thorium ions such as singly charged, doubly charged, and triply charged thorium ions trapped in the ion trap can be used to excite the Th-229 first nuclear excited state via the electronic bridge process. We present an integration of a linear ion trap with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer to investigate trapped Th-232 ions. Various charged thorium ions are produced by laser ablation and dynamically loaded into the ion trap. After sufficient collisional cooling, thorium ions are extracted along one of the radial directions for time-of-flight mass spectrometry by rapidly quenching the trapping potential and applying high-voltage extracting pulses. The charge states of thorium ions are identified and the maximum mass resolutions of thorium ions reach ∼100 with initial 300 K collisional cooling. The velocity distributions of ablated various charged thorium ions are measured, and the results agree well with Monte Carlo simulation. Lifetimes of thorium ions are determined to be a few tens of seconds in the ion trap, which are helpful for further spectroscopic studies of Th-229 nuclear transition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The vibration of a transformer core induced by magnetostriction is closely related to the environment and safety of devices. The DC bias excitation leads to the over saturation of the transformer core and causes more severe vibration. In this paper, a magnetic-mechanical strong coupling model based on a fixed-point time-periodic 2D finite element method with excitation voltage and DC bias current as the input is established in which the vector magnetic potential A, winding current I, and displacement in the core u are simultaneously taken as solution variables, and the fixed-point reluctivity is introduced to deal with the nonlinear problem of the core. In this model, the magnetic field and mechanical field are associated with the piezomagnetic equations and variational principle, and the circuit and magnetic fields are connected through the law of electromagnetic induction. The equivalent thickness of the core model and the determination of the initial value are discussed. A test transformer with a laminated core is made for experimental measurement. The accuracy and efficiency of the model proposed are verified by comparing the calculated results with the experimental results, and the influence of DC bias components on the magnetic characteristics and vibration of the transformer core is analyzed. Background: Complete surgical removal of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is central to all curative treatment approaches for this aggressive disease, yet this is only possible in patients technically amenable to resection. Hence, an accurate assessment of whether patients are suitable for surgery is of paramount importance. The SCANPatient trial aims to test whether implementing a structured synoptic radiological report results in increased institutional accuracy in defining surgical resectability of non-metastatic PDAC. Methods: SCANPatient is a batched, stepped wedge, comparative effectiveness, cluster randomised clinical trial. The trial will be conducted at 33 Australian hospitals all of which hold regular multi-disciplinary team meetings (MDMs) to discuss newly diagnosed patients with PDAC. Each site is required to manage a minimum of 20 patients per year (across all stages). Hospitals will be randomised to begin synoptic reporting within a batched, stepped wedge design. Initially all hospitals will continue to use their current reporting method; within each batch, after each 6-month period, a randomly selected group of hospitals will commence using the synoptic reports, until all hospitals are using synoptic reporting. Each hospital will provide data from patients who (i) are aged 18 or older; (ii) have suspected PDAC and have an abdominal CT scan, and (iii) are presented at a participating MDM. Non-metastatic patients will be documented as one of the following categories: (1) locally advanced and surgically unresectable; (2) borderline resectable; or (3) anatomically clearly resectable (Note: Metastatic disease is treated as a separate category). Data collection will last for 36 months in each batch, and a total of 2400 patients will be included. Discussion: Better classifying patients with non-metastatic PDAC as having tumours that are either clearly resectable, borderline or locally advanced and unresectable may improve patient outcomes by optimising care and treatment planning. The borderline resectable group are a small but important cohort in whom surgery with curative intent may be considered; however, inconsistencies with definitions and an understanding of resectability status means these patients are often incorrectly classified and hence overlooked for curative options. Paleoelevation and paleoclimate reconstructions based on carbonate proxies rely on the preservation of syndepositional surface water isotopic signatures. This study investigates the reliability of fine-grained carbonates (micrites) in recording well-preserved isotopic composition. Utilizing a suite of research tools, including petrography, X-ray diffraction mineralogy, stable isotopes, clumped isotope temperatures, isotope mixing, solid-state bond reordering modeling, and trace element concentrations, we examine the diagenetic history of late Oligocene micritic carbonates from the Nima Basin in central Tibet. Our findings reveal that the lacustrine carbonates at deposition were micritic and calcite-dominated. However, they underwent partial dolomitization through cryptic recrystallization during shallow burial at temperatures of ∼34–40 °C, likely influenced by groundwaters with abundant Mg2+ and trace elements distinct from surface waters. Subsequently, during the further burial at temperatures of ∼120–130 °C, vein calcites precipitated from thermal fluids. Concurrently, the calcite component of fluid-adjacent micrites underwent open-system recrystallization, recording temperatures of 100–130 °C, while the associated dolomite component remained minimally altered due to its higher resistance to dissolution. In contrast, micritic calcites unaffected by thermal fluids experienced partial solid-state bond reordering that elevated clumped isotope temperatures to 50–60 °C. This study underscores the complex diagenetic histories that micrites can undergo, emphasizing the need for caution when interpreting carbonate stable oxygen isotopes in paleoclimate and paleoelevation studies, especially in tectonically active regions. Finally, our analysis infers that the stable oxygen isotopic values of the calcitic soil carbonates in the Nima Basin are well-preserved and reflect moderately high paleoelevations of ∼3.3 km at 26–25 Ma. Objective: This study aimed to assess the efficacy of type A botulinum toxin treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) using a combination of ultrasound and trichoscopy. Methods: Ninety patients with AGA who visited the Department of Dermatology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from September 2021 to December 2022 were prospectively selected. These patients met the diagnostic criteria outlined in the Chinese Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia. The alopecia severity in the male patients ranged between grades 2 and 4 on the Norwood‐Hamilton Scale. The patients were randomly assigned to receive injections of the same type of biological agent in a double‐blind manner, with injection sites being the vertex or bilateral temporal–frontal hairline. In this study, the botulinum toxin group comprised 72 patients who received a biological agent with 100 units of type A botulinum toxin. The control group included 18 patients, and the biological agent administered to them contained 0 units of type A botulinum toxin. The patients were observed using 22‐MHz ultrasound and trichoscopy before treatment, and 1 month and 3 months after treatment to compare the differences in various parameters at the injection sites. The ultrasound parameters included average follicle width, length, and count. The trichoscopy parameters were the number of hairs within a 1‐cm2 area on the counting scale. No artificial interventions were performed at the injection sites, and all examination conditions were consistent. Results: The patients in the botulinum toxin group had wider and longer average follicle width and length at the vertex 1 month and 3 months after treatment (p < 0.05), and wider and longer average follicle width and length in the left frontal area 3 months after treatment (p < 0.05) compared with those in the control group. The average follicle width and length gradually increased after treatment in the botulinum toxin group (p < 0.05), but no statistically significant differences were found in the control group (p > 0.05). The patients in the botulinum toxin group exhibited greater average follicle lengths after treatment at the vertex compared with the left frontal area (p < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found in follicle count (p > 0.05) or hair count (p > 0.05) between the botulinum toxin and control groups after injection treatment. Conclusions: The follicle width and length are effective parameters for evaluating the efficacy of type A botulinum toxin treatment for AGA. Ultrasound revealed that the changes in follicles at the vertex occurred earlier than those in the left frontal area following treatment. Additionally, the changes in follicles were detected earlier than the changes in hair count using ultrasound. Ultrasound combined with trichoscopy provided more parameters for evaluating the efficacy of type A botulinum toxin treatment for AGA, resulting in a more comprehensive evaluation. Neuropeptides are crucial in regulation of a rich variety of developmental, physiological, and behavioral functions throughout the life cycle of insects. Using an integrated approach of multiomics, we identified neuropeptide precursors in the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella, which is a harmful pest of honeybee hives with a worldwide distribution. Here, a total of 63 and 67 neuropeptide precursors were predicted and annotated in the G. mellonella genome and transcriptome, in which 40 neuropeptide precursors were confirmed in the G. mellonella peptidome. Interestingly, we identified 12 neuropeptide precursor genes present in G. mellonella but absent in honeybees, which may be potential novel pesticide target sites. Honeybee hives were contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, enabling its bioaccumulation in G. mellonella bodies through the food chain, we performed transcriptome sequencing to analyze the effects of Pb stress on the mRNA expression level of G. mellonella neuropeptide precursors. After treatment by Pb, the expression of neuropeptide F1 was found to be significantly downregulated, implying that this neuropeptide might be associated with responding to the heavy metal stress in G. mellonella. This study comprehensively identified neuropeptide precursors in G. mellonella, and discussed the effects of heavy metals on insect neuropeptides, with the example of G. mellonella. The results are valuable for future elucidation of how neuropeptides regulate physiological functions in G. mellonella and contribute to our understanding of the insect's environmental plasticity and identify potential new biomarkers to assess heavy metal toxicity in insects. The reduced graphene oxide (rGO) exhibits outstanding electrical conductivity and a high specific surface area, making it a promising material for various applications. Fe2O3 is highly desirable due to its significant theoretical capacity and cost-effectiveness, high abundance, and environmental friendliness. However, the performance of these r-GO/Fe2O3 composite electrodes still needs to be further improved, especially in terms of cycle stability. The composite of Fe2O3 anchored on N-doped graphene with inside micro-channels (Fe2O3@N-GIMC) was used to be efficiently prepared. Because the inside channels can furnish extra transmission pathways and absorption websites and the interconnected structure can efficaciously forestall pulverization and aggregation of electrode materials. In addition, N doping is also beneficial to improve its electrochemical performance. Thus, it demonstrates exceptional sodium storage characteristics, including notable electrochemical activity, impressive initial Coulombic efficiency, and favorable rate performance. The optimized Fe2O3@N-GIMC indicates outstanding discharge capacity (573.5 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1), significant rate performance (333.6 mAh g−1 at 8 A g−1), and stable long-term cycle durability (308.9 mAh g−1 after 1000 cycles at 1 A g−1, 200.8 mAh g−1 after 4000 cycles at 1 A g−1) as a sodium-ion battery anode. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relative risk of risk factor in male and female breast cancer (BC) deaths in China and analyzed the changing trends in BC mortality rates from 1990 to 2019. Methods: Open data from the Global Burden of Disease database from 1990 to 2019 were analyzed to assess the number of BC deaths and age‐standardized mortality rates (ASMR) in China. The age‐period‐cohort model was employed to study age effects, period effects, cohort effects, as well as local drift and net drift of the data, determining the impact of changing risk factors on crude mortality rates and ASMR of BC. Results: In 2019, the number of BC deaths across all age groups in China increased by 130.38% compared to 1990, with an increase of 125.68% in females and 648.80% in males. The ASMR for BC and male BC increased in 2019, while female BC ASMR declined. Overall, alcohol consumption and smoking as risk factors contributed to increased mortality rates of BC with advancing age. Over the entire study period, the net drift of alcohol consumption in females for BC was 0.06% (95% confidence interval [CI]: −0.24% to 0.36%), while for smoking it was −0.64% (95% CI: −0.83% to −0.45%). For males, the net drift of alcohol consumption for BC was 6.75% (95% CI: 5.55% to 7.96%), and for smoking, it was 6.09% (95% CI: 2.66% to 9.64%). Conclusion: Hence, improving awareness of BC‐related risk factors and implementing prevention strategies are necessary to alleviate future BC burdens. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Carbonate rocks are susceptible to diagenesis, and the correct identification of diagenetic features and stages are primary tasks in paleoelevation and paleoclimate studies using carbonate proxies. In this study, we apply three key parameters that include stable isotopes, clumped isotope temperatures, and U-Pb ages to identify different diagenetic stages, i.e., eogenesis, mesogenesis, and telogenesis. We then adopt these criteria to explore the diagenetic history of the middle–late Eocene lacustrine carbonates in the Gerze area of western central Tibet, which have yielded contrasting interpretations of diagenetic stages and paleoelevation estimates. Petrographic observations and electron microprobe element mapping permitted the identification of different diagenetic features. The Gerze carbonates (4GZ section) contain distinct phases of micrite and vein/vug-fill calcite (sparite) with different stable oxygen isotope values of −4 to −6 ‰ and −10 to −14 ‰ (VPDB), respectively. The micrites are dominantly dolomite in composition and yield clumped isotope temperatures of 40–50 °C, which are interpreted to be the result of dolomitization during shallow burial. In contrast, the vein/vug-fill calcites exhibit lower clumped isotope temperatures of 20–30 °C and U-Pb ages of 3.0–3.3 Ma, indicating a late-stage telogenetic origin after exhumation to near the Earth's surface. Our documentation of different carbonate diagenetic stages sheds light on existing paleoelevation interpretations. The mineral zircon has a robust crystal structure, preserving a wealth of geological information through deep time. Traditionally, trace elements in magmatic and hydrothermal zircon have been employed to distinguish between different primary igneous or metallogenic growth fluids. However, classical approaches based on mineral geochemistry are not only time consuming but often ambiguous due to apparent compositional overlap for different growth environments. Here, we report a compilation of 11 004 zircon trace element measurements from 280 published articles, 7173 from crystals in igneous rocks, and 3831 from ore deposits. Geochemical variables include Hf, Th, U, Y, Ti, Nb, Ta, and the REEs. Igneous rock types include kimberlite, carbonatite, gabbro, basalt, andesite, diorite, granodiorite, dacite, granite, rhyolite, and pegmatite. Ore types include porphyry Cu-Au-Mo, skarntype polymetallic, intrusion-related Au, skarn-type Fe-Cu, and Nb-Ta deposits. We develop Decision Tree, XGBoost, and Random Forest algorithms with this zircon geochemical information to predict lithology or deposit type. The F1-score indicates that the Random Forest algorithm has the best predictive performance for the classification of both lithology and deposit type. The eight most important zircon elements from the igneous rock (Hf, Nb, Ta, Th, U, Eu, Ti, Lu) and ore deposit (Y, Eu, Hf, U, Ce, Ti, Th, Lu) classification models, yielded reliable F1-scores of 0.919 and 0.891, respectively. We present a web page portal (http://60.205.170.161:8001/) for the classifier and employ it to a case study of Archean igneous rocks in Western Australia and ore deposits in Southwest China. The machine learning classifier successfully determines the known primary lithology of the samples, demonstrating significant promise as a classification tool where host rock and ore deposit types are unknown. In this paper, we mainly study the dynamic properties of a class of three-dimensional SIR models. First, we use the complete discriminant theory of polynomials to obtain the parameter conditions for the topological types of each fixed point. Second, by employing the centre manifold theorem and bifurcation theory, we prove that the system may undergo transcritical, flip and Neimark–Sacker bifurcations at fixed points. Finally, we simulated all the codimension-1 bifurcations. We found that the system also has codimension-2 bifurcations, i.e. 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4 strong resonances. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Genome‐wide association studies analysis has revealed associations between ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and loci on the TBX21 gene across various populations. This study aimed to investigate if there is a connection between a higher risk of AS in a Chinese population and two polymorphism loci on the TBX21 gene. To achieve this, we performed a case–control investigation involving 363 patients with AS and 907 healthy individuals. Genotyping was carried out using the iPLEX Gold genotyping assay. The analysis of genotypes and haplotypes was performed using SPSS 23.0 and SHEsis software. The results revealed no statistically significant correlation between the two specified single‐nucleotide polymorphisms of TBX21 (rs11657479 C/T and rs4794067 C/T) and susceptibility to AS. However, upon conducting stratification analysis, our findings demonstrated a significant association between rs11657479 and susceptibility to human leucocyte antigen (HLA)‐B27+ AS in allelic (C vs. T: odds ratio [OR] = 1.52, 95%CI = 1.09–2.11, corrected p [pc] =.028), heterozygous (CT vs. TT: OR = 1.63, 95%CI = 1.13–2.34, pc =.016) and dominant (CT + CC vs. TT: OR = 1.60, 95%CI = 1.12–2.28, pc =.018) models. Furthermore, the haplotype rs4794067/C‐rs11657479/C of TBX21 was found to increase the risk of HLA‐B27+ AS cases. Endowing perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) with circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) offers great promise for innovative chiroptical applications, but the existing strategies are inefficient in acquiring stimuli‐responsive flexible chiral perovskite films with large, tunable dissymmetry factor (glum) and long‐term stability. Here, we report a strategy for the design and synthesis of luminescent cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer (Lumin‐CLCE) films with mechanically tunable CPL, which is enabled by liquid crystal‐templated chiral self‐assembly and in situ covalent cross‐linking of judiciously designed photopolymerizable CsPbX3 (X=Cl, Br, I) PQD nanomonomers into the elastic polymer networks. The resulting Lumin‐CLCE films showcase circularly polarized structural color in natural light and noticeable CPL with a maximum glum value of up to 1.5 under UV light. The manipulation of CPL intensity and rotation direction is achieved by controlling the self‐assembled helicoidal nanostructure and the handedness of soft helices. A significant breakthrough lies in the achievement of a reversible, mechanically tunable perovskite‐based CPL switch activated by biaxial stretching, which enables flexible, dynamic anti‐counterfeiting labels capable of decrypting preset information in specific polarization states. This work can provide new insights for the development of advanced chiral perovskite materials and their emerging applications in information encryption, flexible 3D displays, and beyond. Background: MicroRNA396 (miR396) plays an important role in the regulation of plant growth and development by repressing the expression level of its target growth-regulating factor (GRF) family genes. In our previous study, we found that overexpression of miR396 negatively regulated both tillering and biomass yield in switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.). We, therefore, speculated that blocking the expression of miR396 could enhance switchgrass tillering and biomass yield. Here, we produced transgenic switchgrass plants overexpressing a target mimicry form of miR396 (MIM396) in wild type (WT) and Os-MIR319b overexpressing switchgrass plant (with higher enzymatic hydrolysis efficiency, but reduced tillering), in which the expression of miR396 was blocked. The phenotype and biological yields of these plants were analyzed. Results: Blocking miR396 to improve its target PvGRFs expression in switchgrass improved the tiller number and dry weight of transgenic plants. Further morphological analysis revealed that MIM396 plants increased the number of aerial branches and basal tillers compared to those of wild-type plants. The enzymatic efficiency of MIM396 plants was reduced; however, the total sugar production per plant was still significantly higher than that of wild-type plants due to the increase in biomass. In addition, blocking miR396 in a transgenic switchgrass plant overexpressing Os-MIR319b (TG21-Ms) significantly increased the PvGRF1/3/5 expression level and tiller number and biomass yield. The miR156-target gene PvSPL4, playing a negative role in aerial and basal buds outgrowth, showed significant downregulated in MIM396 and TG21-Ms. Those results indicate that miR396-PvGRFs, through disrupting the PvSPL4 expression, are involved in miR319-PvPCFs in regulating tiller number, at least partly. Conclusions: MIM396 could be used as a molecular tool to improving tiller number and biomass yield in switchgrass wild type and miR319b transgenic plants. Capillary electrophoresis with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection (CE-C4D) has the advantages of high throughput (simultaneous detection of multiple ions), high separation efficiency (higher than 105 theoretical plates) and rapid analysis capability (less than 5 min for common inorganic ions). A compact CE-C4D system is ideal for water quality control and on-site analysis. It is suitable not only for common cations (e.g. Na+, K+, Li+, NH4+, Ca2+, etc.) and anions (e.g. Cl−, SO42−, BrO3−, etc.) but also for some ions (e.g. lanthanide ions, Pb2+, Cd2+, etc.) that require complex derivatization procedures to be detected by ion chromatography (IC). However, an obvious limitation of the CE-C4D method is that its sensitivity (e.g. 0.3–1 μM for common inorganic ions) is often insufficient for trace analysis (e.g. 1 ppb or 20 nM level for common inorganic ions) without preconcentration. For this technology to become a powerful and routine analytical technique, the system should be made compact while maintaining trace analysis sensitivity. In this study, we developed an all-in-one version of the CE-C4D instrument with custom-made modular components to make it a convenient, compact and high-performance system. The system was designed using direct digital synthesis (DDS) technology to generate programmable sinusoidal waveforms with any frequency for excitation, a kilovolt high-voltage power supply for capillary electrophoresis separation, and an "effective" differential C4D cell with a low-noise circuitry for high-sensitivity detection. We characterized the system with different concentrations of Cs+, and even a low concentration of 20 nM was detectable without preconcentration. Moreover, the optimized CE-C4D setup was applied to analyse mixed ions at a trace concentration of 200 nM with excellent signal-to-noise ratios. In typical applications, the limits of detection based on the 3σ criterion (without baseline filtering) were 9, 10, 24, 5, and 12 nM for K+, Cs+, Li+, Ca2+, and Mg2+, respectively, and about 7, 6, 6 and 6 nM for Br−, ClO4−, BrO3− and SO42−, respectively. Finally, the setup was also applied for the analysis of all 14 lanthanide ions and rare-earth minerals, and it showed an improvement in sensitivity by more than 25 times. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Early Cretaceous mafic dikes occur widely in the major gold districts of the eastern North China Craton (NCC), which are coeval and cospatial with many gold deposits, and these mantle-derived magmatic rocks provide a window to investigate the mantle compositions and metasomatism. Here, we present the Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic compositions of the Xiaoqinling mafic dikes and compare with regional geochemical and isotopic data for mafic dikes in Jiaodong, Xiaoqinling and interior of the NCC. The results indicate that the Early Cretaceous mafic dikes of Xiaoqinling and Jiaodong low-Ti group were derived from arc-like subcontinental lithospheric mantle (SCLM), that of Jiaodong high-Ti group were derived from OIB-like asthenospheric mantle, and that of the interior NCC were derived from both of lithospheric and asthenospheric mantle. Further, their mantle sources during Early Cretaceous were dominantly metasomatized by aqueous fluids derived from subduction slab as well as by limited melt and carbonate. Furthermore, the mantle beneath the Jiaodong low-Ti and Xiaoqinling is mainly characterized by EM2 type, whereas that of the interior NCC is mainly of EM1 type. Besides, the whole-rock Nd and zircon Hf isotopic compositions of these mafic dikes show clearly temporal and spatial variations with their ages of 145 ~ 110 Ma, reflecting that the mantle of the eastern NCC changed from the ancient IAB-like SCLM to juvenile OIB-like mantle through metasomatism. Capillary electrophoresis with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection (CE-C4D) has the advantages of high throughput (simultaneous detection of multiple ions), high separation efficiency (higher than 105 theoretical plates) and rapid analysis capability (less than 5 min for common inorganic ions). A compact CE-C4D system is ideal for water quality control and on-site analysis. It is suitable not only for common cations (e.g. Na+, K+, Li+, NH4+, Ca2+, etc.) and anions (e.g. Cl−, SO42−, BrO3−, etc.) but also for some ions (e.g. lanthanide ions, Pb2+, Cd2+, etc.) that require complex derivatization procedures to be detected by ion chromatography (IC). However, an obvious limitation of the CE-C4D method is that its sensitivity (e.g. 0.3–1 μM for common inorganic ions) is often insufficient for trace analysis (e.g. 1 ppb or 20 nM level for common inorganic ions) without preconcentration. For this technology to become a powerful and routine analytical technique, the system should be made compact while maintaining trace analysis sensitivity. In this study, we developed an all-in-one version of the CE-C4D instrument with custom-made modular components to make it a convenient, compact and high-performance system. The system was designed using direct digital synthesis (DDS) technology to generate programmable sinusoidal waveforms with any frequency for excitation, a kilovolt high-voltage power supply for capillary electrophoresis separation, and an "effective" differential C4D cell with a low-noise circuitry for high-sensitivity detection. We characterized the system with different concentrations of Cs+, and even a low concentration of 20 nM was detectable without preconcentration. Moreover, the optimized CE-C4D setup was applied to analyse mixed ions at a trace concentration of 200 nM with excellent signal-to-noise ratios. In typical applications, the limits of detection based on the 3σ criterion (without baseline filtering) were 9, 10, 24, 5, and 12 nM for K+, Cs+, Li+, Ca2+, and Mg2+, respectively, and about 7, 6, 6 and 6 nM for Br−, ClO4−, BrO3− and SO42−, respectively. Dielectric polymers are essential to capacitive capacitors widely used in modern electronic and electrical systems. Most useful dielectric polymers are derived from petroleum while environmentally sustainable dielectric biomass remains mostly unexplored although they are abundant, renewable, and cost‐effective. Here an ultrahigh energy density in cyanoethyl cellulose (CEC) and cyanoethyl pullulan (CEP) obtained by replacing the hydroxyl groups of cellulose and pullulan with cyanoethyl is reported. Large dielectric constants of 16.7 and 20.0 in CEC and CEP due to the strong polarity of cyanoethyl which are comparable to high‐dielectric ferroelectric polymers are shown. CEC and CEP show nearly no degradation of the dielectric constant with increasing electric fields, inhabiting the early polarization saturation and thus leading to improved energy density, which is different from relaxor ferroelectric polymers. Consequently, solution‐processable CEP films exhibit an ultrahigh discharged energy density of 28.2 J cm−3 with an efficiency of 72% at 600 MV m−1, outperforming other all‐organic dielectric biomass materials. Comprehending how smart city construction (SCM) affects urban metabolic efficiency (UME) is crucial to comprehensively assessing the policy performance of SCM. This study evaluates how SCM affects UME through a double-difference-in-differences (DID) model according to panel data collected between 2004 and 2021 from 284 Chinese cities. It is found that SCM can promote UME, and this effect increases yearly. Meanwhile, the impact of SCM on UME has spillover effects, spatial decay boundaries and heterogeneity characteristics. Moreover, SCM promotes UME through technological innovation effect (TIE), industrial upgrading effect (IUE), energy saving effect (ESE) and spatial structure effect (SSE). Results from the above contribute to better understanding of the impacts of SCM policies and offer recommendations for emerging nations that wish to improve their UME. Background: Although it is generally believed that the femoral neck fracture is related to the femoral neck geometric parameters (FNGPs), the association between the risk of osteoporotic fracture of the femoral neck and FNGPs in native Chinese women is still unclear. Methods: A total of 374 female patients (mean age 70.2 ± 9.32 years) with osteoporotic fracture of the femoral neck, and 374 non-fracture control groups were completely matched with the case group according to the age ratio of 1:1. Using DXA bone densitometer to measured eight FNGPs: the outer diameter (OD), cross-sectional area (CSA), cortical thickness (CT), endocortical diameter (ED), buckling ratio (BR), section modulus (SM), cross-sectional moment of inertia (CSMI), and compressive strength index (CSI) at the narrowest point of the femoral neck. Results: Compared with the control group, the average values of OD (2.9%), ED (4.5%), and BR (26.1%) in the patient group significantly increased (p = 0.015 to < 0.001), while CSA (‒15.3%), CT (‒18.2%), SM (‒10.3%), CSMI (‒6.4%), and CSI (‒10.8%) significantly decreased (all p < 0.001). The prevalence of osteoporosis in the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and total hip was, respectively, 82%, 81%, and 65% in fracture patients. Cox proportional hazard model analysis showed that in the age adjusted model, the fracture hazard ratio (HR) of CSA, CT, BR, SM, and CSI significantly increased (HRs = 1.60‒8.33; 95% CI = 1.08‒16.6; all p < 0.001). In the model adjusted for age and femoral neck BMD, HRs of CT (HRs = 3.90‒8.03; 95% CI = 2.45‒15.1; all p < 0.001) and BR (HRs = 1.62‒2.60; 95% CI = 1.20‒5.44; all p < 0.001) were still significantly increased. Conclusion: These results suggest that the majority of osteoporotic fractures of the femoral neck of native Chinese women occur in patients with osteoporosis. Objective: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) is a distinct molecular subtype of gastric cancer (GC). At present, the clinical characteristics and prognostic implications of EBV infection and the potential clinical benefits of immune checkpoint blockade in GC remain to be clarified. Hence, this study was designed to analyze the clinical and pathological characteristics of GC patients with varying EBV infection states and compare their overall survival (OS). Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 1031 consecutive GC patients who underwent gastrectomy at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from February 2018 to November 2022. EBV-encoded RNA (EBER) in situ hybridization (ISH) was used for EBV assessment, and immunohistochemical staining was used for evaluation of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), and Ki67 expression. EBVaGC was defined as tumors with EBV positivity. In addition, EBV-negative GC (EBVnGC) patients were matched with EBVaGC patients based on seven clinicopathological parameters (age, gender, anatomic subsite, tumor size, Lauren classification, degree of differentiation, and tumor-node-metastasis [TNM] stage). The correlations of clinical features with HER2, PD-L1, and Ki67 expression were evaluated statistically. The survival of patients was assessed through medical records, telephone, or WeChat communication, and prognostic analysis was performed using the logrank test as well as univariable and multivariable regression analysis. Results: Out of 1031 GC patients tested, 35 (3.4%) were diagnosed with EBVaGC. Notably, the EBVaGC group exhibited a distinct predominance of males and younger patients, significantly higher Ki67 and PD-L1 expression levels, and a lower prevalence of pericancerous nerve invasion than the EBVnGC group (P < 0.01). In the 35 EBVaGC cases, Ki67 expression was negatively correlated with age (P < 0.05), suggesting that a younger onset age was associated with higher Ki67 expression. In addition, PD-L1 expression was correlated with the degree of differentiation, T-stage, and clinical stage of the patient. Furthermore, PD-L1 expression was elevated in tumors with lower differentiation or at later stages (P < 0.05). Using univariate analysis, Ki67, PD-L1, and clinical stage were identified as significant factors influencing the overall survival (OS) of EBVaGC patients (P < 0.05). Moreover, multivariate survival analysis revealed that clinical stage and Ki67 expression were independent risk factors for the OS of the patients (P < 0.05), and the three-year OS rate of EBVaGC patients was 64.2%. Conclusion: EBV-ISH is a practical and valuable method to identify EBVaGC. Biodegradable mulch films (BMFs) are becoming increasingly popular in agricultural practices. However, research on the ecological impact of biodegradable mulch films on pepper–soil systems is still scarce. To compare the differential effects of BMFs and polyethylene (PE) mulch on soil chemical properties, soil bacterial community composition, and pepper cultivation, a study was conducted encompassing eight distinct treatments. These treatments included three varieties of polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) combined with polylactic acid (PLA) mulches: PP-JL, PP-SD, and PP-SH; a black polypropylene carbonate mulch (PPC-BK); a brown PPC mulch (PPC-BR); a polyethylene (PE) mulch; straw mulching (NCK); and an uncovered control (PCK). After applying mulches for 129 days, most PPC and PBAT + PLA films had reached the rupture phase, whereas the PE film was still in the induction phase. Pepper yield was obviously higher in all mulched treatments (4830 kg hm−1) than in the un-mulched control (3290 kg hm−1), especially the BMF PP-JL treatment, which showed the most notable improvements in yield. Although BMF treatments maintained a lower soil temperature than the PE film mulch, they were still higher than the un-mulched control. Furthermore, the soil bacterial community composition and ecological network were not markedly affected by different mulching conditions. However, the PP-SH treatment significantly increased the abundance of Pseudomonas, Nitrosomonas, and Streptomyces genera. Moreover, Lactobacillus and Gp16 were substantially more abundant in the PPC-black (BK) and PPC-brown (BR) treatments compared to the PE mulching treatment. This study could provide valuable insights into the ecological benefits of BMFs in pepper cultivation. However, as our experiments were conducted for only one season, it is imperative to undertake long-term experiments across consecutive seasons and years for a thorough understanding and comprehensive study. Background: Older adults living in nursing home organizations are eager to get voluntary help, however, their past experiences with voluntary services are not satisfactory enough. To better carry out voluntary services and improve the effectiveness of services, it is necessary to have a deeper understanding of the experiences and needs of older adults for voluntary services. Methods: The purposive sampling method was used to select 14 older adults from two nursing home organizations in Hangzhou and conduct semi-structured interviews, Collaizzi's seven-step method was used to analyze the data. Results: Older adults in nursing home organizations have both beneficial experiences and unpleasant service experiences in the process of receiving voluntary services; Beneficial experiences include solving problems meeting needs and feeling warmth and care, while unpleasant service experiences include the formality that makes it difficult to benefit truly, lack of organization, regularity, sustainability, and the mismatch between service provision and actual demands. The needs for voluntary services mainly focuses on emotional comfort, Cultural and recreational, and knowledge acquisition. Conclusion: Older adults in nursing home organizations have varied voluntary experiences, and their voluntary service needs are diversified. This study aimed to investigate the probable existence of a causal relationship between sleep phenotypes and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with sleep phenotypes were selected as instrumental variables at the genome-wide significance threshold (P < 5 × 10−8). Inverse‐variance weighted was applied as the primary Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis method, and MR Egger regression, weighted median, simple mode, and weighted mode methods were used as complementary analysis methods to estimate the causal association between sleep phenotypes and PDR. In the aerobics competition, the judge's judgment plays a key role in the athlete's performance and ranking. However, due to the existence of human factors and subjective judgments, artificial judgments are prone to errors and unfairness. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design and implement a machine vision system based on light detection sensor, which is used to assist judges in aerobics competition. The system aims to improve the objectivity and accuracy of competition judgment and reduce the influence of subjective factors on competition results. In this paper, the optical detection sensor technology is used to obtain real-time movement data of athletes by setting sensors in different positions of the field. The sensors can recognize the athlete's body outline, posture and movement flow, and transmit the data to a computer for real-time analysis and processing. Through machine vision algorithms, the system can automatically identify and analyze the degree of completion and technical difficulty of different actions. The experimental results show that the machine vision system based on the light detection sensor can accurately capture the movements of athletes and provide reliable data for judging. Objectives The present study expands on previous research by examining whether the spouse's retirement affects individual depression both directly, by the changes in individual health investment, and indirectly, through the social interaction effect of the couples' depression. Methods Using the panel data from the 2010–2018 China Family Panel Studies, we investigate the direct and indirect spillover effects of the spouse's retirement on depression among Chinese urban-worker couples (men aged 50–70, women aged 40–60; n  = 10,466). To address the potential endogeneity and reflect the social interaction effect of the couples' depression, we combine the Fuzzy Regression Discontinuity method with simultaneous equations. Results Overall, a spouse's retirement would improve an individual's depression, with the direct spillover dominating compared to the indirect spillover. Gender heterogeneity indicates that husbands' depression is improved by wives' retirement mainly because husbands might receive more healthcare and companionship provided by their retired wives, while wives' depression is aggravated by husbands' retirement because of the decline in household income and the lesser health investment. This difference is more evident when wives retire earlier and both spouses retire in the same year. With the spouse's retirement years increasing, husbands' depression improves and wives' depression declines each year. Moreover, spouses' depression is significantly interactive, and wives' depression is more vulnerable to husbands' depression. Background: Accurate delineations of regions of interest (ROIs) on multi‐parametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) are crucial for development of automated, machine learning‐based prostate cancer (PCa) detection and segmentation models. However, manual ROI delineations are labor‐intensive and susceptible to inter‐reader variability. Histopathology images from radical prostatectomy (RP) represent the "gold standard" in terms of the delineation of disease extents, for example, PCa, prostatitis, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Co‐registering digitized histopathology images onto pre‐operative mpMRI enables automated mapping of the ground truth disease extents onto mpMRI, thus enabling the development of machine learning tools for PCa detection and risk stratification. Still, MRI‐histopathology co‐registration is challenging due to various artifacts and large deformation between in vivo MRI and ex vivo whole‐mount histopathology images (WMHs). Furthermore, the artifacts on WMHs, such as tissue loss, may introduce unrealistic deformation during co‐registration. Purpose: This study presents a new registration pipeline, MSERgSDM, a multi‐scale feature‐based registration (MSERg) with a statistical deformation (SDM) constraint, which aims to improve accuracy of MRI‐histopathology co‐registration. Methods: In this study, we collected 85 pairs of MRI and WMHs from 48 patients across three cohorts. Cohort 1 (D1), comprised of a unique set of 3D printed mold data from six patients, facilitated the generation of ground truth deformations between ex vivo WMHs and in vivo MRI. The other two clinically acquired cohorts (D2 and D3) included 42 patients. Affine and nonrigid registrations were employed to minimize the deformation between ex vivo WMH and ex vivo T2‐weighted MRI (T2WI) in D1. Subsequently, ground truth deformation between in vivo T2WI and ex vivo WMH was approximated as the deformation between in vivo T2WI and ex vivo T2WI. In D2 and D3, the prostate anatomical annotations, for example, tumor and urethra, were made by a pathologist and a radiologist in collaboration. These annotations included ROI boundary contours and landmark points. Before applying the registration, manual corrections were made for flipping and rotation of WMHs. MSERgSDM comprises two main components: (1) multi‐scale representation construction, and (2) SDM construction. For the SDM construction, we collected N = 200 reasonable deformation fields generated using MSERg, verified through visual inspection. Three additional methods, including intensity‐based registration, ProsRegNet, and MSERg, were also employed for comparison against MSERgSDM. Results: Our results suggest that MSERgSDM performed comparably to the ground truth (p > 0.05). Additionally, MSERgSDM (ROI Dice ratio = 0.61, landmark distance = 3.26 mm) exhibited significant improvement over MSERg (ROI Dice ratio = 0.59, landmark distance = 3.69 mm) and ProsRegNet (ROI Dice ratio = 0.56, landmark distance = 4.00 mm) in local alignment. Conclusions: This study presents a novel registration method, MSERgSDM, for mapping ex vivo WMH onto in vivo prostate MRI. Our preliminary results demonstrate that MSERgSDM can serve as a valuable tool to map ground truth disease annotations from histopathology images onto MRI, thereby assisting in the development of machine learning models for PCa detection on MRI. Underwater signal processing is primarily based on sound waves because of the unique properties of water. However, the slow speed and limited bandwidth of sound introduce numerous challenges, including pronounced time-varying characteristics and significant multipath effects. This paper explores a channel estimation method utilizing superimposed training sequences. Compared with conventional schemes, this method offers higher spectral efficiency and better adaptability to time-varying channels owing to its temporal traversal. To ensure success in this scheme, it is crucial to obtain time-varying channel estimation and data detection at low SNRs given that superimposed training sequences consume power resources. To achieve this goal, we initially employ coarse channel estimation utilizing superimposed training sequences. Subsequently, we employ approximate message passing algorithms based on the estimated channels for data detection, followed by iterative channel estimation and equalization based on estimated symbols. We devise an approximate message passing channel estimation method grounded on a Gaussian mixture model and refine its hyperparameters through the expectation maximization algorithm. Then, we refine the channel information based on time correlation by employing an autoregressive hidden Markov model. Lastly, we perform numerical simulations of communication systems by utilizing a time-varying channel toolbox to simulate time-varying channels, and we validate the feasibility of the proposed communication system using experimental field data. The AIoT, with its artificial intelligence capabilities, can further enhance Device‐to‐Device (D2D) communication. Based on Non‐Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), D2D technology can effectively alleviate wireless spectrum resource pressure and improve the capacity of heterogeneous cellular networks. However, it also introduces significant system interference issues. In this paper, a resource allocation algorithm is proposed for the NOMA‐D2D heterogeneous cellular network, based on a multi‐agent deep reinforcement learning framework. Firstly, the algorithm allocates appropriate channels to D2D clusters. Then, the power allocation factors and D2D transmit power are jointly optimized to suppress the interference and improve the system performance. Simple Summary: With the rapid development of aquaculture, searching for alternative lipid sources to fish oil has become an important task for the aqua-feed industry. Lard is regarded as a valuable alternative lipid source. Basa fish (Pangasius bocourti) offal oil also has a large annual production and high potential to be used in fish feeds. Evaluation of the efficacy of lard and Basa fish offal oil in fish feeds will provide useful information for their application in aquaculture. Both lard and Basa fish offal oil have high levels of saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids. The "n-3 LC-PUFA sparing effects" of saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids in fish feeds have been observed in many fish species. The present study was also aimed at validating the "n-3 LC-PUFA sparing effects" of saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids in lard and Basa fish offal oil. Moreover, the effects of dietary lard and Basa fish offal oil on fish body composition and muscle quality were also evaluated. Lard (LD) and Basa fish offal oil (BFO) have similar fatty acid profiles, both containing high contents of saturated fatty acids (SFA) and monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA). The present study aimed to investigate the efficacy of partial or complete replacement of marine fish oil (MFO, herring oil) by LD or BFO in the diets of tiger puffer. The control diet contained 49.1% crude protein and 9.28% crude lipid content including 6% added MFO. In other diets, 1/3, 2/3, and 3/3 of the added MFO was replaced by LD or BFO, respectively. Each diet was fed to triplicate tanks of juvenile fish (initial body weight, 13.88 g). A 46-day feeding trial was conducted in a flow-through seawater system. Each diet was fed to triplicate 200-L rectangular polyethylene tanks, each of which was stocked with 30 fish. Fish were fed to satiation three times a day. The complete replacement of added MFO (replacing 65% of the total crude lipid) had no adverse effects on fish growth performance in terms of survival (>94%), weight gain (360–398%), feed intake (2.37–3.04%), feed conversion ratio (0.84–1.02), and somatic indices. The dietary LD or BFO supplementation also had marginal effects on fish body proximate composition, biochemical parameters, muscle texture, and water-holding ability, as well as the hepatic expression of lipid metabolism-related genes. Partial (2/3) replacement of added MFO by LD or BFO did not significantly reduce the muscle n-3 LC-PUFA content, indicating the n-3 LC-PUFA sparing effects of SFA and MUFA in LD and BFO. In general, dietary LD or BFO reduced the peroxidation level and led to significant changes in the muscle volatile flavor compound profile, which were probably attributed to the change in fatty acid composition. High entropy monoborides powders are mainly prepared from metal and boron powders which can be costly. In this study, a novel approach starting from mixed oxides, boron carbide, and graphite was first developed to synthesize quaternary monoboride powders by combining multiple boro/carbothermal reductions (MBCTR). As an exemplar, (Mo0.25W0.25Cr0.25Ta0.25)B powders with purity up to 94.3 wt.% were successfully synthesized by heating the mixtures in vacuum at 1650°C for three times, as‐synthesized powders exhibit fine particle size (<1 µm) and uniform elemental distribution. Background: The diagnosis of primary small intestinal lymphoma (PSIL) is difficult. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical, radiological and endoscopic characteristics of PSIL and provide clue for diagnosis. Methods: A total of 30 patients diagnosed with PSIL who underwent double balloon endoscopy (DBE) in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical, radiological and endoscopic data were collected. Univariate analysis was used to determine significant indicators for differentiating three main subtypes of PSIL. Cox regression analysis was performed to assess the risk factors for survival. Results: In this study, 10 patients were pathologically diagnosed as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), 11 were indolent B-cell lymphoma (BCL) and 9 were T-cell lymphoma (TCL). Compared with DLBCL patients, the body mass index (BMI) of TCL patients was significantly lower (p = 0.004). Meanwhile, compared with patients with DLBCL, the patients with indolent BCL had lower levels of C-reactive protein, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), fibrinogen and D-Dimer (p = 0.004, p = 0.004, p = 0.006, and p = 0.002, respectively), and lower proportion of thicker intestinal wall and aneurysmal dilation in CT scan (p = 0.003 and p = 0.020, respectively). In terms of ulcer morphology, patients with DLBCL had significantly higher proportion of deep ulcers than patients with indolent BCL (p = 0.020, respectively). This article introduces customized screening ensemble with shape‐adaptive quantile regression (CseAQR), a novel probabilistic interval forecasting method built upon the quantile regression model. CseAQR utilizes ensemble learning to perform adaptive quantile regression prediction, which can handle the heteroscedasticity feature in time series data by using a weighted adaptive allocation loss function to enhance the adaptability of the basic quantile regression model on the dataset. The model performance predictor is used to select the optimal ensemble learner combination, assign reasonable adaptive weights to it, and obtain a preliminary prediction interval through weighted aggregation. Combining ensemble learners not only improves the accuracy and robustness of prediction intervals but also ensures the commutativity required for conformal prediction. Finally, the conformal prediction method is applied to locally adjust the prediction interval, constructing a more consistently aligned prediction interval with the actual data on a narrower basis. Electrochromic devices (ECDs) have attracted substantial attention on account of their unique characteristics and prosperous applications. However, their monotonous color modification remains a momentous challenge that significantly restricts their application scope. Integrating structural colors that arise from the interaction between light and periodic micro/nanostructures with electrochromic materials (ECMs) turns out to be an effective approach to enhancing the comprehensive performance of ECDs more than the coloration effectiveness. This review provides an overview on the recent burgeoning development of structural color ECDs regarding strategies and applications. The performance parameters of ECDs and physical principles regarding the generation of structural colors are introduced. Then, strategies that introduce structural colors into ECDs are discussed according to the category of chromogenic micro/nanostructures, namely, gratings, (single‐layer and multilayer) thin films, photonic crystals, plasmonic metasurfaces, and composite structures. The current state‐of‐the‐art research activities of structural color ECDs for display application including segmented and pixelated devices are also presented. Background: Therapeutics of urticaria in Chinese outpatients remain to be illustrated. Objectives: To investigate clinical treatment of outpatients with urticaria, and provide real-world evidence for selection of medication regimens. Methods: In this hospital-based multicenter study, urticaria outpatients filled in a questionnaire at initial visit and were followed-up (once per week, for 4 weeks). Results: We recruited 1715 urticaria outpatients and 647 completed 4 week's follow-up. Their total UAS7 was reduced (27.44 at baseline, 16.87 in 1 week, 12.39 in 2 weeks, 7.21 in 3 weeks, 4.2 in 4 weeks). 71.8% patients recovered from urticaria (therapy was highly effective in 11%, whereas effective in 14.2%). The second-generation H1 antihistamines (sgAHs) (at conventional dose) were the most commonly prescribed drugs, with ebastine, levocetirizine and olopatadine being the leading ones (41.1%, 36.2%, and 16%, respectively). Combinations of several antihistamines (649 cases, 37.8%) at conventional dose were far more common than a single drug at escalated dose (59 cases, 3.4%). The combination of ebastine with levocetirizine was the most frequent options (18.25%, 313 cases), followed by combination of ebastine with compound glycyrrhizin (18.2%, 312 cases). The usage rates of tripterygium glycoside (19.6%), hydroxychloroquine (17.2%) and system application glucocorticoids (5.5%) in angioedema were much higher than in symptomatic dermographism and chronic spontaneous urticaria. Conclusions: This study identifies curative therapy for Chinese outpatients with urticaria. The sgAHs, especially ebastine, are the most commonly prescribed drugs. Olopatadine has fast-acting and curative effects. Compound glycyrrhizin holds potential as a versatile collaborator. Combinations of several antihistamines at conventional dose is common. Key Points: Question: Is initiation of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication associated with a reduced mortality risk in individuals with ADHD? Findings: In this observational, target trial emulation analysis that included 148 578 individuals diagnosed with ADHD in Sweden, initial dispensation of ADHD medication was significantly associated with lower all-cause (hazard ratio [HR], 0.79) and unnatural-cause (HR, 0.75) mortality, whereas the association with natural-cause mortality was not significant (HR, 0.86). Meaning: Among individuals diagnosed with ADHD, medication initiation was significantly associated with lower mortality, in particular for unnatural causes. Importance: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is associated with increased risks of adverse health outcomes including premature death, but it is unclear whether ADHD pharmacotherapy influences the mortality risk. Objective: To investigate whether initiation of ADHD pharmacotherapy was associated with reduced mortality risk in individuals with ADHD. Design, Setting, and Participants: In an observational nationwide cohort study in Sweden applying the target trial emulation framework, we identified individuals aged 6 through 64 years with an incident diagnosis of ADHD from 2007 through 2018 and no ADHD medication dispensation prior to diagnosis. Follow-up started from ADHD diagnosis until death, emigration, 2 years after ADHD diagnosis, or December 31, 2020, whichever came first. Exposures: ADHD medication initiation was defined as dispensing of medication within 3 months of diagnosis. Main Outcomes and Measures: We assessed all-cause mortality within 2 years of ADHD diagnosis, as well as natural-cause (eg, physical conditions) and unnatural-cause mortality (eg, unintentional injuries, suicide, and accidental poisonings). Results: Of 148 578 individuals with ADHD (61 356 females [41.3%]), 84 204 (56.7%) initiated ADHD medication. The median age at diagnosis was 17.4 years (IQR, 11.6-29.1 years). The 2-year mortality risk was lower in the initiation treatment strategy group (39.1 per 10 000 individuals) than in the noninitiation treatment strategy group (48.1 per 10 000 individuals), with a risk difference of −8.9 per 10 000 individuals (95% CI, −17.3 to −0.6). ADHD medication initiation was associated with significantly lower rate of all-cause mortality (hazard ratio [HR], 0.79; 95% CI, 0.70 to 0.88) and unnatural-cause mortality (2-year mortality risk, 25.9 per 10 000 individuals vs 33.3 per 10 000 individuals; risk difference, −7.4 per 10 000 individuals; 95% CI, −14.2 to −0.5; HR, 0.75; 95% CI, 0.66 to 0.86), but not natural-cause mortality (2-year mortality risk, 13.1 per 10 000 individuals vs 14.7 per 10 000 individuals; risk difference, −1.6 per 10 000 individuals; 95% CI, −6.4 to 3.2; HR, 0.86; 95% CI, 0.71 to 1.05). Neuroligin (NLGN) 3 is a postsynaptic cell adhesion protein organizing synapse formation through two different types of transsynaptic interactions, canonical interaction with neurexins (NRXNs) and a recently identified noncanonical interaction with protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) δ. Although, NLGN3 gene is known as a risk gene for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disability (ID), the pathogenic contribution of the canonical NLGN3-NRXN and noncanonical NLGN3-PTPδ pathways to these disorders remains elusive. In this study, we utilized Nlgn3 mutant mice selectively lacking the interaction with either NRXNs or PTPδ and investigated their social and memory performance. Neither Nlgn3 mutants showed any social cognitive deficiency in the social novelty recognition test. However, the Nlgn3 mutant mice lacking the PTPδ pathway exhibited significant decline in the social conditioned place preference (sCPP) at the juvenile stage, suggesting the involvement of the NLGN3-PTPδ pathway in the regulation of social motivation and reward. In terms of learning and memory, disrupting the canonical NRXN pathway attenuated contextual fear conditioning while disrupting the noncanonical NLGN3-PTPδ pathway enhanced it. Furthermore, disruption of the NLGN3-PTPδ pathway negatively affected the remote spatial reference memory in the Barnes maze test. These findings highlight the differential contributions of the canonical NLGN3-NRXN and noncanonical NLGN3-PTPδ synaptogenic pathways to the regulation of higher order brain functions associated with ASD and ID. The combined prescriptions of nirmatrelvir/ritonavir and other drugs are limited due to potential drug-drug interactions, so therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) becomes particularly important. In this study, a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was established for determination of the nirmatrelvir/ritonavir in plasma of patients with COVID-19, providing technical and theoretical support for the TDM. Plasma samples were processed by protein precipitation using acetonitrile, and analytes were separated on an Agilent Poroshell 120 SB-C18 (2.1 × 75 mm, 2.7 μm) column at 35°C. Acetonitrile and 0.1% formic acid in water (52 : 48) were utilized as the mobile phases at a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min. In the multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode, nirmatrelvir and ritonavir were monitored using precursor/product ions: m/z 500.2/110.1 and 721.3/296.1, respectively, with selinexor as the internal standard. The linear range of both analytes was 2.0 ng/mL to 5000 ng/mL with good inter- and intraday precision and accuracy, and the recovery was 92.0%–107% for nirmatrelvir and 85.7%–106% for ritonavir. Soft porous organic crystals with stimuli‐responsive single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SCSC) transformations are important tools for unraveling their structural transformations at the molecular level, which is of crucial importance for the rapid development of stimuli‐responsive systems. Carefully balancing the crystallinity and flexibility of materials is the prerequisite to construct advanced organic crystals with SCSC, which remains challenging. Herein, a squaraine‐based soft porous organic crystal (SPOC‐SQ) with multiple gas‐induced SCSC transformations and temperature‐regulated gate‐opening adsorption of various C1‐C3 hydrocarbons is reported. SPOC‐SQ is featured with both crystallinity and flexibility, which enable pertaining the single crystallinity of the purely organic framework during accommodating gas molecules and directly unveiling gas‐framework interplays by SCXRD technique. Thanks to the excellent softness of SPOC‐SQ crystals, multiple metastable single crystals are obtained after gas removals, which demonstrates a molecular‐scale shape‐memory effect. Benefiting from the single crystallinity, the molecule‐level structural evolutions of the SPOC‐SQ crystal framework during gas departure are uncovered. With the unique temperature‐dependent gate‐opening structural transformations, SPOC‐SQ exhibits distinctly different absorption behaviors towards C3H6 and C3H8, and highly efficient and selective separation of C3H6/C3H8 (v/v, 50/50) is achieved at 273 K. Objective: This nationwide cohort study aimed to examine the association between PM2.5 and diabetes mellitus (DM) risk. Methods: We recorded annual average PM2.5 exposure levels at participants' locations. PM2.5 concentrations were categorized into quartiles: Q1 (<29.5 μg/m³), Q2 (29.5-33.3 μg/m³), Q3 (33.4 41.2 μg/m³), and Q4 (>41.2 μg/m³). Results: A total of 158,038 patients (69,688 men and 88,350 women) were enrolled. Diabetes mellitus incidence increased with higher annual PM2.5 concentrations (2.81 in QI, 3.06 in Q2, 3.65 in Q3, and 3.89 in Q4 per 10,000 person-years). After adjusting for confounders, patients exposed to PM2.5 in Q2, Q3, and Q4 had adjusted hazard ratios of 1.14 (95% CI: 1.05-1.23), 1.40 (95% CI: 1.30-1.50), and 1.42 (95% CI: 1.32-1.53), respectively, for developing DM compared with those exposed to Q1 -PM2.5 concentrations. The injection of the Direct Current (DC) bias component will lead to oversaturation of the transformer core and affect its safe operation. In this paper, the vector magnetic potential A and winding current I are used as the variables solved in the time-step finite element method to simulate the nonlinear transient magnetization characteristics of the transformer under DC bias, and the fixed-point reluctivity is introduced to deal with the nonlinear iterative problem. The field-circuit coupling relationship is established through the electromagnetic induction law, and the two-dimensional time-step finite element model of the transformer core is found. The dynamic J–A hysteresis model is used to deal with the hysteresis effect of iron cores. The fixed-point reluctivity of difference form is introduced to solve the problem of uneven transition and multi-value of magnetization curve with hysteresis in the iterative process. The determination scheme for the equivalent thickness of the core model and the initial iterative value are discussed. A laminated core transformer is made for experiments, and the accuracy and applicability of the model proposed in this paper are verified by comparing the calculation and experimental results. Exposure to high levels of microbial contaminants during waste disposal leads to the development of various diseases, including respiratory symptoms and gastrointestinal infections. In this study, the emissions of airborne bacteria and fungi during the process of sludge bio-drying were investigated. The recorded emission levels of airborne bacteria and fungi were 2398 ± 1307 CFU/m3 and 1963 ± 468 CFU/m3, respectively. Viable bacteria were sized between 1.1 and 3.3 μm, while fungal particles were concentrated between 2.1 and 4.7 μm. High-throughput sequencing was used to conduct a microbial population assay, and correlation analysis was performed to estimate the relationship between key factors and bioaerosol emissions. The main bacteria identified were Bacillus sp., Lysinibacillus sp. YS11 , unclassified Enterobacteriaceae , Brevundimonas olei , and Achromobacter sp.; the primary types of fungi were Aspergillus ochraceus, Gibberella intricans, Fusarium concentricum, Aspergillus qinqixianii, and Alternaria sp. ; and the dominant opportunistic pathogens were Bacillus anthracis and Aspergillus ochraceus. At lower moisture and temperature levels, airborne bacterial concentrations were higher, especially the release of fine particles. In addition, moisture content had a significant impact on the microbial population in bioaerosols. Background: Bone mineral density is an important indicator of osteoporosis, and its variation with volatile organic compounds exposure has rarely been studied. However, the relationship between chloroform (an essential volatile organic compounds component) and bone mineral density remains unclear. Consequently, we aimed to explore the relationship between chloroform alone and bone mineral density or bone mineral content. Methods: Herein, 2,553 individuals aged 18 and above from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) in 2009–2010, 2013–2014, and 2017–2020, were included. We employed two independent t-tests and multi-linear regression models to statistically assess the relationship between chloroform exposure and BMD/BMC in the spine and femoral area. Results: A "V"-shaped correlation between chloroform exposure and bone mineral density or bone mineral content (BMD/BMC) was observed in the unadjusted model, particularly in the Ward's triangle and femoral neck as a whole. A negative correlation was specifically observed for the Ward's triangle BMD/BMC and L4 BMD/BMC. On the other hand, in the adjusted model, a dominantly negative correlation between the L4 BMC and chloroform exposure was observed over a range of exposure levels. The subgroup analysis revealed a negative correlation between chloroform concentrations and BMC in the femur and spine, especially in women and the 65–80 age population. Conclusion: Our study revealed a "V" shaped correlation between chloroform and BMD/BMC of the femur and spine in U.S. adults. Müllerian duct anomalies (MDAs) are congenital developmental disorders exhibiting as a variety of malformations of female reproductive tract. The identified etiology of MDAs is limited. The present study aimed to unravel the underlying genetic causes of MDAs. Rare variants in androgen receptor (AR) were called from the cohort consists of patients with MDAs and underwent whole exome sequencing (WES) at Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China. Sanger sequencing was used to confirm the causative genetic mutations. In silico analysis were used to classify the pathogenicity of each variant. Molecular modeling and simulations were conducted to investigate the conformational changes between the wild-type (WT) and mutant proteins. A total of 3 rare heterozygous variants in AR from the MDAs cohort in our institution were identified, with unknown effects. All variants were missense mutations, including c.173A > T, c.558C > A and c.1208C > T, and were absent or rare in East Asian populations in Genome Aggregation Database and the Exome Aggregation Consortium Database. According to the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics guidelines, c.1208C > T variant was classified as likely pathogenic, while the other two were variants of uncertain significance. During molecular dynamics simulations, WT and mutant proteins all reached stable status according to root-mean-square variance. Values of radius of gyration showed that Q58L and S186R protein would be more compact than WT, while the structure of A403V became looser. Despite, in comparison with WT, the number of hydrogen bonds increased in Q58L, while decreased in the other two variants. Furthermore, the solvent-accessible surface area diminished in Q58L and A403V while enlarged in S186R proteins, when compared with WT. To our knowledge, this is the first report regarding the association of AR mutation and MDAs. The identification of these variants, predicted to damage the structure and function of AR protein, not only expanded the mutational spectrum of causative genes of MDAs, but provide novel molecular genetic reference for future studies. Background:Artificial intelligence-based chatbots (AI chatbots) can potentially improve mental health care, yet factors predicting their adoption and continued use are unclear. Methods: We conducted an online survey with a sample of U.S. adults with symptoms of depression and anxiety (N = 393) in 2021 before the release of ChatGPT. We explored factors predicting the adoption and continued use of AI chatbots, including factors of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model, stigma, privacy concerns, and AI hesitancy. Results: Results from the regression indicated that for nonusers, performance expectancy, price value, descriptive norm, and psychological distress are positively related to the intention of adopting AI chatbots, while AI hesitancy and effort expectancy are negatively associated with adopting AI chatbots. For those with experience in using AI chatbots for mental health, performance expectancy, price value, descriptive norm, and injunctive norm are positively related to the intention of continuing to use AI chatbots. Conclusions: Understanding the adoption and continued use of AI chatbots among adults with symptoms of depression and anxiety is essential given that there is a widening gap in the supply and demand of care. AI chatbots provide new opportunities for quality care by supporting accessible, affordable, efficient, and personalized care. This study provides insights for developing and deploying AI chatbots such as ChatGPT in the context of mental health care.
