Abstract

An electrical contact-high speed imaging experimental system was developed to study the basic characteristics and laws of molten bridges of AgSnO2 electrical contact material. On the one hand, the quantitative measurements were investigated by high speed imaging technology. On the other hand, the microstructure and element distribution on the surface of contacts were analyzed by SEM and EDS after molten bridges behavior. Results indicate that the evolution behavior of molten bridges of AgSnO2 contacts can be divided into three regimes: the initial melting period, a stable period and an unstable period during which it eventually ruptures. Molten bridges and arc can exist simultaneously in which there is some cooperation and competition relationship. The dimension of molten bridges of AgSnO2 contact material is micron scale, the diameter of molten bridges increases with the increase of current and the length decreases with the increase of current. In the process of the evolution behavior of molten bridges, the feature of molten bridges can be divided into three types: the pier, follow by the cylindrical and the dumbbell. The morphology and element distribution of the contacts surface are changed by the behavior of molten bridges.

Abstract

The present study investigated the effects of dietary astaxanthin on the growth, blood biochemical, antioxidant, immune and inflammatory response in lipopolysaccharide‐challenged Channa argus. A total of 0, 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg of astaxanthin were added to the basal die for 56 days. After the feeding experiment, each group was subjected to a lipopolysaccharide challenge (except for the Control group). The results showed that adding astaxanthin to the diet can significantly increase the weight gain and specific growth rate and decrease the feed conversion ratio of C. argus; the highest weight gain, specific growth rate and minimum feed conversion ratio occurred in the 100 mg/kg group. Furthermore, dietary astaxanthin supplementation can alleviate the negative effects of lipopolysaccharides by increasing the levels of alkaline phosphatase, lysozyme, complement 3, complement 4, total serum protein, albumin, globulin, superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase and decrease the serum cortisol, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, glutathione peroxidase, and malondialdehyde. Dietary astaxanthin supplementation also can decrease the relative expression of inflammatory genes (nuclear factor κB, interleukin‐1, interleukin‐8 and tumour necrosis factor‐α) in the liver, spleen, kidney and intestine. To summarise, dietary astaxanthin addition can improve the growth performance and attenuate the negative effects of lipopolysaccharide challenge in C. argus. 39. Application and foundation on inversion lattice potential of gold and silver

Abstract

How to construct an accurate interatomic potential function is an important and basic problem in the simulation procedure. Using first-principles method, the single atom energies in different lattice constants are calculated to achieve the ground state curves of Au and Ag. These energies are calculated in the Perdew and Zunger form of the local-density approximation ultra-soft pseudo potentials. The cut-off energies of the plane wave bases of Au and Ag are set to be 320 eV and 300 eV respectively, which are sufficient for their full converge. The Brillouin zone is all sampled with a 12×12×12 Monkhorst-Pack mesh of k points for Au and Ag. Allowable error in total energy is smaller than 1×10-6 eV per atom. The lattice cohesive energies in different lattice constants are calculated to achieve the lattice energy and atom distance curves after subtracting the value of ground state energy from each of these energy. Then the accurate inversion potential curves are obtained according to the Chen-Möbius inversion theory and self-compiled program. Based on the fitting consequences of inversion potential curves, using different potential function formulas, a double exponential potential function to fit the inversion potential is presented. This function provides the accurate formulas and parameters for the following research. Moreover, the phonon spectra and the densities of states of Au and Ag are calculated respectively by using the inversion potential data, the embedded atom method (EAM) potential theory and first principles method to verify the reliability of the inversion potential. The comparison of the results among the three methods shows that the tendencies of these curves are similar. But they still have some deviations especially in the range of high frequency. However these curves indicate that the inversion potential can reasonably reflect the interaction between atoms. Meanwhile, the inversion potential method has great advantage in calculation quantity compared with the EAM potential method. The inversion method needs less time in calculation. In addition, the thermal expansion coefficients, the elastic moduli and the Grüneisen constants of Au and Ag are also calculated based on the fitting formulas and parameters. The results agree well with the experimental data, which implies that these inversion potentials are effective and accurate.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the toxic effects of Cr 6+ on bioaccumulation, digestion, immunity, oxidative stress, apoptosis and inflammation-related genes in Channa asiatica. The fish was exposed to waterborne Cr 6+ concentrations (0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mg/L) for 28 and 56 days. Our results demonstrated that the accumulation of Cr 6+ in tissues increased in a concentration-dependent manner, and the content in tissue was liver > gill > gut > muscle. Meanwhile, Cr 6+ exposure led to a remarkable suppression of digestion, immunity and antioxidant capacity in C. asiatica. Inversely, MDA and PC content were positively correlated with Cr 6+ exposure concentration. Furthermore, the expression of genes went up with the increase of waterborne Cr 6+ concentration. Among them, HSP90, NF-κB and TNF-α have a sharp increase. These results elucidate that waterborne Cr 6+ exposure may induce bioaccumulation, inhibit digestion and immunity, promote oxidative stress and up-regulate the expression of apoptosis and inflammation-related genes in C. asiatica., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
