Histone arginine residue methylation is crucial for individual development and gene regulation. However, the dynamics of histone arginine methylation in response to cellular stress remains largely unexplored. In addition, the interplay and regulatory mechanisms between this and other histone modifications are important scientific questions that require further investigation. This study aimed to investigate the changes in histone arginine methylation in response to DNA damage. We report a global decrease in histone H3R26 symmetric dimethylation (H3R26me2s) and hypoacetylation at the H3K27 site in response to DNA damage. Notably, H3R26me2s exhibits a distribution pattern similar to that of H3K27ac across the genome, both of which are antagonistic to H3K27me3. Additionally, histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1) may be recruited to the H3R26me2s demethylation region to mediate H3K27 deacetylation. A composite bucket foundation (CBF) is a new foundation type of offshore wind turbine. The investigation of the bearing characteristic of CBF is a crucial part of the structural design and safety assessment of offshore wind turbines. This study investigates the bearing characteristic of CBF in sand and clay foundations using centrifuge model test and numerical simulation. Analysis revealed that as load increases, the rotation center of the CBF moves toward the central line and shallow area. The buried depth of the CBF rotation center in a clay foundation is shallower than in a sand foundation when the CBF is under ultimate loading. Due to the rotation and translation of CBF, the soil pressure–depth curves on the skirt wall in different directions will resemble parabolic, line, and triangle shapes, respectively. Under ultimate loading, the relationship between the depth and horizontal coordinate of the rotation center and embedment ratio is linear. The CBF's bearing capacity trend presents quadratic function characteristics as the embedment ratio increases. However, the bearing capacity ratio of the CBF in the clay foundation is faster than that in the sand foundation. The findings provide guidelines for offshore wind turbines. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In China, Hyphantria cunea (Drury) is an invasive phytophagous pest; it attacks nearly all species of defoliated trees. To develop integrated pest management programs (IPM) for H. cunea , we need to ensure the availability of insects by mass-rearing them on artificial diets under laboratory conditions. This study compared the growth characteristics, nutritional indices, growth indices, and digestive enzyme activity of insects reared on Pterocarya stenoptera C.DC (Fagales: Juglandaceae), the Chinese wingnut, and an artificial diet. We also investigated the correlation between diet components and growth indices using principal components analysis and Pearson correlation analysis. We found that mass-rearing of H. cunea on an artificial diet was feasible. It led to a shorter developmental period, with heavier larvae and pupae than natural diets. The principal components analysis indicated that the growth indices and α-Amylase were significantly positively associated with PC1, which explained 82.45% of the total data variability. Pearson correlation analysis showed a significant correlation between digestion, absorption parameters, and growth. Developing a mass-rearing program to produce H. cunea on an artificial diet will be valuable for improving IPM strategies. Understanding the mechanism of the responses of phytophagous insect populations to anthropogenic diet regulation can provide new ideas and methods for pest control. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

【Abstract】Objective: To explore the advantages and indications of the paraspinal approach by anatomical study and clinical application. Methods: The anatomical data and clinical practice of 27 cases were analyzed to explore the accurate approach between the paraspinal muscles and the structure of ambient tissues, as well as the results of clinical application of paraspinal approach. The operation time, blood loss, incision length, radiographic result (Cobb angle, height of anterior edge of the vertebrae) were compared with those in 24 cases treated by traditional approach. Results: Complete exposure of the facets could be easily performed by identifying natural cleavage plane between the multifidus and longissimus muscles. The natural muscular cleavage was (1.47±0.23) cm lateral to the midline for females, and (1.64±0.35) cm for males at T12 level. The distance was (3.3±0.6) cm lateral to the midline for females, and (3.7±1.0) cm for males at L4 level. In paraspinal approach group, the operation time was (76.2±15.7) min, blood loss was (91.6±16.9) ml and incision length was (7.6±0.8) cm. In traditional approach group, the operation time was (121.4±19.6) min, blood loss was (218.7±32.3) ml and incision length was (17.4±2.1) cm. To compare paraspinal approach with traditional approach, the operation time, blood loss and incision length had statistical difference (P0.05). Conclusions: When the paraspinal approach is performed through natural cleavage plane between the multifidus and longissimus muscles, there are no wide muscular disinsertions, leaving the supraspinous and interspinous ligaments intact. The distance of natural cleavage to the midline is different at T12 and L4 planes. By this approach, the facet joints can be explored easily and completely, and a clear surgical field will be available for the placement of pedicle screws.
