24. Thermal decomposition reaction kinetics and storage life prediction of polyacrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive

Abstract

The thermal decomposition behavior of polyacrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) at heating rates of 4, 6, 8, and 10 K·min−1 was measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The kinetic parameters for thermal decomposition reaction of the polyacrylate adhesive were obtained from TG profile by differential method and integral method (Kissinger, general integral, MacCallum–Tanner, Šatava–Šesták, Agrawal, and Flynn–Wall–Ozawa), the results show that the main decomposition stage of the polyacrylate adhesive starts at 301°C and its activation energy is 142.68 kJ·mol−1, the pre exponential factor is 109.55, the decomposition mechanism obeys Avrami–Erofeev equation and its decomposition kinetic equation can be expressed as: dα/dT = (109.55/β)[(1 − α)/2][−ln(1 − α)]−1exp(−1.7161 × 104/T). The storage life of PSA at 25°C was predicted to be about 19 years by isoconversional method.

Abstract

In order to achieve China’s “30·60” decarbonization goal, the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy system is the fundamental support; the construction of new-type power system is the key step, and the green certificate is the important voucher to reflect the green value of renewable energy. Currently, the distribution mechanism of green certificates in China is oversimplified, which neither effectively measures the variability of green values generated by different types of renewable energy, nor balances the coordinated development of renewable energy. Therefore, to differentiate the exchange mechanism of green certificates by different types of renewable energy power in this paper, an evaluation index system is established, which describes the difference between green certificates, considering the comprehensive value of renewable energy, and an evaluation model is built with the criteria importance by using the intercriteria correlation (CRITIC) method, the entropy weight method, and the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) method. Under the development scenario of peaking carbon emissions before 2030, the impact of the differentiated distribution model on the green incomes of centralized photovoltaic distributed photovoltaic power, onshore wind power, and offshore wind power is analyzed. Moreover, the development plan of renewable energy is modified in consideration of the effect of the differentiated distribution model, and policy suggestions on green certificates are proposed accordingly. The results show that the differentiated distribution model of green certificates is practical to provide corresponding decision-making support to the construction and improvement of green certificates trading mechanism in China.

Abstract

The improvement of mitochondrial function is described as a strategy for alleviating oxidative stress and intervening in the aging process. 2,3,5,4′-Tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-D-glucoside (TSG) is one of the major bioactive components isolated from Polygonum multiflorum Thunb, and it exhibits multiple activities, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, we found that 200 μM TSG significantly extended the mean lifespan of Caenorhabditis elegans by 16.48% and improved health status by delaying age-associated physiological decline in worms. The longevity prolongation effect of TSG depended on the regulation of the mitochondrial quality control process mediated by DAF-16/FOXO, SKN-1/Nrf2 and SIR-2.1/SIRT1 to improve mitochondrial function. Moreover, TSG treatment obviously alleviated the proteotoxicity of β-amyloid and tau proteins in worms. Our findings indicated that TSG is a promising natural product for preventing aging and treating aging-associated neurodegenerative diseases by regulating the mitochondrial quality control process to improve mitochondrial function. Abstract

C-H functionalization represents a promising approach for the synthesis of complex molecules. Instead of relying on modifying the functional groups present in a molecule, the synthetic sequence is achieved by carrying out selective reactions on the C-H bonds, which traditionally would have been considered to be the unreactive components of a molecule. A major challenge is to design catalysts to control both the site- and stereoselectivity of the C-H functionalization. We have been developing dirhodium catalysts with different selectivity profiles in C-H functionalization reactions with donor/acceptor carbenes as reactive intermediates. Here we describe a new dirhodium catalyst capable of the functionalization of non-activated primary C-H bonds with high levels of site selectivity and enantioselectivity.

Abstract

Background: The Oxidative Balance Score (OBS) is a systematic tool to assess the effects of diet and lifestyle in relation to oxidative stress. The association between OBS and gout has not been reported previously. We conducted a cross‐sectional study to investigate the complex association between OBS and gout in US adults. Methods: In all, 10 492 participants were included in this study. The exposure variable was OBS, which was scored by 16 dietary and four lifestyle factors. Multivariate logistic regression, subgroup analysis, and restricted cubic spline (RCS) regression were used to analyze the association between OBS and gout. Results: Compared with the lowest OBS quartile group (Q1), the multivariate corrected odds ratio (OR) (95% confidence interval [C]) for the highest quartile of OBS (Q4) was 0.72 (0.52–1.00) (p =.13 for trend); furthermore, the RCS showed a negative linear relationship between OBS and gout (p‐nonlinear =.606). Conclusion: In conclusion, the risk of gout is higher with high OBS. The prevalence of gout decreased with higher OBS. Diabetes may alter this negative correlation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
