SUMMARY In the field, necrosis area induced by pathogens is usually surrounded by a red circle in apple fruits. However, the underlying molecular mechanism of this phenomenon remains unclear. In this study, we demonstrated that accumulated salicylic acid (SA) induced by fungal infection promoted anthocyanin biosynthesis through MdNPR1‐MdTGA2.2 module in apple (Malus domestica). Inoculating apple fruits with Valsa mali or Botryosphaeria dothidea induced a red circle surrounding the necrosis area, which mimicked the phenotype observed in the field. The red circle accumulated a high level of anthocyanins, which was positively correlated with SA accumulation stimulated by fungal invasion. Further analysis showed that SA promoted anthocyanin biosynthesis in a dose‐dependent manner in both apple calli and fruits. We next demonstrated that MdNPR1, a master regulator of SA signaling, positively regulated anthocyanin biosynthesis in both apple and Arabidopsis. Moreover, MdNPR1 functioned as a co‐activator to interact with and enhance the transactivation activity of MdTGA2.2, which could directly bind to the promoters of anthocyanin biosynthetic and regulatory genes to promote their transcription. Suppressing expression of either MdNPR1 or MdTGA2.2 inhibited coloration of apple fruits, while overexpressing either of them significantly promoted fruit coloration. Finally, we revealed that silencing either MdNPR1 or MdTGA2.2 in apple fruits repressed SA‐induced fruit coloration. Therefore, our data determined that fungal‐induced SA promoted anthocyanin biosynthesis through MdNPR1‐MdTGA2.2 module, resulting in a red circle surrounding the necrosis area in apple fruits. Plants possess the remarkable ability to sense detrimental environmental stimuli and launch sophisticated signal cascades that culminate in tailored responses to facilitate their survival, and transcription factors (TFs) are closely involved in these processes. Phytochrome interacting factors (PIFs) are among these TFs and belong to the basic helix–loop–helix family. PIFs are initially identified and have now been well established as core regulators of phytochrome-associated pathways in response to the light signal in plants. However, a growing body of evidence has unraveled that PIFs also play a crucial role in adapting plants to various biological and environmental pressures. In this review, we summarize and highlight that PIFs function as a signal hub that integrates multiple environmental cues, including abiotic (i.e., drought, temperature, and salinity) and biotic stresses to optimize plant growth and development. PIFs not only function as transcription factors to reprogram the expression of related genes, but also interact with various factors to adapt plants to harsh environments. This review will contribute to understanding the multifaceted functions of PIFs in response to different stress conditions, which will shed light on efforts to further dissect the novel functions of PIFs, especially in adaption to detrimental environments for a better survival of plants. Most of the information obtained by humans comes from colour images. However, salt‐and‐pepper noise (SPN) during signal acquisition, encoding, transmission, and decoding easily interferes with the quality of colour images. Most existing SPN denoising methods decompose a colour image into three independent matrices according to the colour channel and then recover each channel signal independently, ignoring the strong data correlation between channels. In addition, most existing SPN denoising methods apply only a single model‐driven or data‐driven approach and fail to take the advantages of their combination fully. Therefore, we first regard a colour image contaminated by SPN as the sum of an SPN tensor and a tensor with missing data. In this manner, we transform the denoising problem into a low‐rank tensor reconstruction problem. We then introduce a model‐driven‐based parallel matrix factorization low‐rank tensor reconstruction algorithm and a data‐driven‐based FFDNet denoising network to restore the colour image better. The proposed method not only enhances the similarity of the colour image channels but also explores the deep prior of the colour image to capture the image details. In this work, the intentional insertion of slots in metal gate (MG) is introduced to solve the dishing issue for the double-diffused drain MOSFET (DDDMOSFET) fabrication. For traditional DDDMOSFET, the gate oxide layer in slots will be reserved to improve the device reliability, which requires an additional photomask to screen the gate/slot regions during the following sidewall formation and source/drain (S/D) implantation. This makes the process more complicated with increased cost. Without that additional photomask, it is proposed that the removal of gate oxide layer in slots can directly allow the floating S/D formation and the followed Ni silicidation there. It is demonstrated that such a novel process can not only relieve the MG dishing issue but can also effectively result in ~16% higher ON current and comparable OFF current for both N- and P-DDDMOSFETs without threshold voltage shift after applying electrical stress on gates. It is also revealed that the floating silicided S/Ds in slots have negligible influence on device breakdown characteristics. By saving one photomask, this work proposes a novel solution for the effective integration of core devices with very small feature sizes and high-voltage (HV) devices with large feature sizes in the same die, which is a common challenge for display driver chip fabrication using high- ${k}$ /MG (HK/MG) technology. Studies on human mobility from abundant trajectory data have become more and more popular with the development of location-based services. Prediction for locations people may visit in the future is a significant task, helping to make visiting recommendations and manage traffic conditions. Different from other time series prediction tasks, location prediction is temporally dependent as well as spatial-aware. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-graph attention network with sequence-to-sequence structures based on spatial–temporal long short-term memory to predict future locations. Specifically, we build three graphs with movements in geographic space and apply graph attention networks to explore the latent spatial associations among geographic regions. Additionally, we come up with spatial–temporal long short-term memory and use it to establish a sequence-to-sequence framework, which collects the temporal dependence as well as some spatial information from history trajectories. To eliminate the influence of spacesuits' joint resistant torque on the operation of astronauts, an active spacesuit scheme based on the joint-assisted exoskeleton technology is proposed. Firstly, we develop a prototype of the upper limb exoskeleton robot and theoretically analyse the prototype to match astronauts' motion behavior. Then, the Jiles-Atherton model is adopted to describe the hysteretic characteristic of joint resistant torque. Considering the parameter identification effects in the Jiles-Atherton model and the local optimum problem of the basic PSO (particle swarm optimization) algorithm, a SA- (simulated annealing-) PSO algorithm is proposed to identify the Jiles-Atherton model parameters. Compared with the modified PSO algorithm, the convergence rate of the designed SA-PSO algorithm is advanced by 6.25% and 20.29%, and the fitting accuracy is improved by 14.45% and 46.5% for upper limb joint model. Main observation and conclusion: Proton‐conductive metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted great attention for their promising application in membrane fuel cells. To explore proton‐conductive MOFs with high performance, here we present four lanthanide‐hypophosphite frameworks with distinct amine guests. These complexes possess a general formula [AH][Gd2(H2PO2)7] (AH = protonated amines). Due to the rich hydrogen bond networks, complex 1 with guanidinium as guest shows high proton conductivity of 1.75 × 10–2 S·cm–1 at a relative humidity of 97% (368 K). In order to improve the computational efficiency of the response surface method (RSM) in analysis of structural reliability, a full-space response surface method (FRSM) is presented in this paper. First, a vector-type response surface is developed by expanding the stochastic nodal displacement vector along the Krylov basis vectors defined by the global stiffness matrix and the force vector. Then the effective collocation points are picked out of the candidate ones according to the linear independence of the combining row vector. Finally, the unknown coefficients of the proposed response surface are determined by means of the regression analysis. Examples show that the proposed FRSM requires much fewer effective collocation points and less times of finite element analysis, achieving much higher computational efficiency by comparing with the traditional RSM. Molecule‐based magnetic materials are useful candidates as the spin qubit due to their long coherence time and high designability. The anisotropy of the g‐values of the metal complexes can be utilized to access the individual spin of the metal complexes, making it possible to achieve the scalable molecular spin qubit. For this goal, it is important to evaluate the effect of g‐value anisotropy on the magnetic relaxation behaviour. This study reports the slow magnetic relaxation behaviour of chromium nitride (CrN2+) porphyrinato complex (1), which is structurally and magnetically similar with the vanadyl (VO2+) porphyrinato complex (2) which is known as the excellent spin qubit. Detailed analyses for vibrational and dynamical magnetism of 1 and 2 revealed that g‐value anisotropy accelerates magnetic relaxations greater than the internal magnetic field from nuclear spin does. We report three self‐assembled iron complexes that comprised an anti‐parallel open form (o‐Lanti), a parallel open form (o‐Lsyn), and a closed form (c‐L) of diarylethene conformers. Under kinetic control, FeII2(o‐Lanti)3 was isolated, which exhibited a dinuclear structure with diamagnetic properties. Under light‐irradiation control, FeII2(c‐L)3 was prepared and exhibited paramagnetism and spin‐crossover behaviour. Under thermodynamic control and in the presence of indispensable [FeIII(Tp*)(CN)3]−, FeII2(o‐Lanti)3 and FeII2(c‐L)3 transformed into tetranuclear FeIII2FeII2(o‐Lsyn)2, which exhibited complete spin‐crossover behaviour at T1/2=353 K. To date, very few attempts have been made to systematically compare the effectiveness of agricultural and nonagricultural organic wastes for aided phytostabilization of mine tailings under field conditions. In this study, we performed a field trial to compare the effectiveness of three agricultural organic wastes: chicken manure (CM), crop straw (CS), and spent mushroom compost (SMC), with that of three nonagricultural organic wastes, municipal sludge (MS), medicinal herb residues (MHR), and sweet sorghum vinasse (SSV) for aided phytostabilization of a Pb-Zn mine tailings pond in Hunan Province, China. Eight plant species naturally established in the vicinity of the mine were selected and seeded onto trial plots. It was found that the CM-amended plots had the highest (p < 0.05) vegetation cover (86%) and biomass production (881 g m−2), compared to other treatments. CM was also one of the best amendments in terms of improving soil nutrient status, increasing activities of soil enzymes, and immobilizing soil Pb. In addition, CM-amended plots were characterized by their higher microbial diversity and distinct microbial community structure as compared to the control plots. MS was the second best amendment in promoting vegetation cover (71%) and biomass production (461 g m−2), and it performed as well as CM for improving nutrient status, immobilizing heavy metals, and increasing the activities of enzymes in the mine tailings. Objective: to explore the impact of admission serum creatinine concentration on the in-hospital mortality and its interaction with age and gender in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in China. Methods: 1424 acute STEMI patients were enrolled in the study. Anthropometric and laboratory measurements were collected from every patient. A Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to determine the relationships between the admission serum creatinine level (Cr level), age, sex and the in-hospital mortality. A crossover analysis and a stratified analysis were used to determine the combined impact of Cr levels with age and gender. Results: Female (HR 1.687, 95%CI 1.051∼2.708), elevated Cr level (HR 5.922, 95%CI 3.780∼9,279) and old age (1.692, 95%CI 1.402∼2.403) were associated with a high risk of death respectively. After adjusting for other confounders, the renal dysfunction was still independently associated with a higher risk of death (HR 2.48, 95% CI 1.32∼4.63), while female gender (HR 1.19, 95%CI 0.62∼2.29) and old age (HR 1.77, 95%CI 0.92∼3.37) was not. In addition, crossover analysis revealed synergistic effects between elevated Cr level and female gender (SI = 3.01, SIM = 2.10, AP = 0.55). Stratified analysis showed that the impact of renal dysfunction on in-hospital mortality was more pronounced in patients <60 years old (odds ratios 11.10, 95% CI 3.72 to 33.14) compared with patients 60 to 74 years old (odds ratios 5.18, 95% CI 2.48∼10.83) and patients ≥75years old (odds ratios 3.99, 95% CI 1.89 to 8.42). The influence of SiO2 and SiNx capping layer on threshold voltage (${V}_{t}$) for FinFET with TiAl-based metal gate (MG) is studied. After metal gate-stack formation, SiNx capping is revealed to be able to serve as a new N source, resulting in the diffusion of N into the effective work function (EWF) TiNx layer. Correspondingly, the accumulation of N in the TiNx layer is demonstrated to be able to lower the EWF for both n- and p-FinFETs. Compared to SiO2 capping, SiNx capping can induce $\sim 100$ –150 mV ${V}_{t}$ lowering for short n- and p-FinFETs. No obvious ${V}_{t}$ shift is found for long-channel devices. The mononuclear ferric compound Fe(H-5-Cl-thsa-Me)(5-Cl-thsa-Me)·H2O (1) was synthesized and characterized using powder/single-crystal X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and magnetic susceptibility measurements. This photo-responsive compound shows reversible, two-step spin-crossover behaviour. Comprehensive Summary: Regulating spin crossover (SCO) behavior, especially controlling the spin transition steps, is an important scientific issue, mainly because people aim to control spin bistability and multistability. Presently, SCO bistability can be regulated by changing the ligand‐modifying species, non‐coordinated anions, guest molecules, and metal‐ion dopant. However, the control of multistability is extremely challenging, especially in Fe(III) SCO compounds. Here, we report that [FeIII(H‐5‐Br‐thsa)(5‐Br‐thsa)]·H2O (5‐Br‐thsa = (5‐bromo‐2‐hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazinecarbothioamide), a compound we have reported before, exists in two polymorphic forms: polymorph 1 exhibits three‐step SCO, and polymorph 2 shows five‐step SCO, with multi‐step SCO behavior effectively regulated by polymorphism. According to single‐crystal and powder X‐ray diffractometry, polymorphs 1 and 2 crystallize in different space groups during their spin transitions, with two‐step symmetry breaking observed (Pbcn → Pnc2 → Pbcn for polymorph 1; P21/n → Pn → P21/n for polymorph 2). We realized that the behavior of these two polymorphs depends significantly on the structure, including (i) the average Fe—N bond distance, (ii) deformation of octahedral FeIII atoms, and (iii) distinct crystal packing, which account for the large differences observed in magnetic properties. The accurate diagnosis of fresh vertebral fractures (VFs) was critical to optimizing treatment outcomes. Existing studies, however, demonstrated insufficient accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity in detecting fresh fractures using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fall short in localizing the fracture sites. This prospective study comprised 716 patients with fresh VFs. We obtained 849 Short TI Inversion Recovery (STIR) image slices for training and validation of the AI model. The AI models employed were yolov7 and resnet50, to detect fresh VFs. The AI model demonstrated a diagnostic accuracy of 97.6% for fresh VFs, with a sensitivity of 98% and a specificity of 97%. The performance of the model displayed a high degree of consistency when compared to the evaluations by spine surgeons. In the external testing dataset, the model exhibited a classification accuracy of 92.4%, a sensitivity of 93%, and a specificity of 92%. Abstract: One new three-dimensional 3d–4f heterometallic coordination polymer, namely, {[EuZn2(imdc)2(C2O4)0.5(H2O)4]·2H2O} n (1) (H3imdc=imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid), has been successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal reactions of Eu2O3, Zn(NO3)2·6H2O, H3imdc, H2C2O4·2H2O and H2O. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 possesses 3D heterometallic framework containing 2D layer based on L–Zn2–L (L=imdc) helical chains and L–EuZn1–L chains. Complex 1 exhibits unprecedented (3,4)-connected four-nodal topology with Schläfli symbol (6·7·8) (6·7·9) (6·72·82·10) (7·82). Abstract: Three novel lanthanide complexes, namely, [Ce(Himdc)(H2imdc)(H2O)3]·H2O (1), {[Dy(Himdc)(Ox)0.5(H2O)2]·H2O} n (2), and {[Nd(Himdc)(Ox)0.5(H2O)2]·H2O} n (3) (H3imdc=imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid, Ox=oxalate), have been successfully prepared by the assembly of lanthanide ions and H3imdc ligand under different synthetic conditions. All of the complexes have been characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR, TG analysis, luminescence spectroscopy as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The 3D supramolecular structure of 1 is constructed from 1D zig-zag chains through the hydrogen bonding interactions. Complex 2 possesses the chair-shaped secondary building units (SBUs) with Dy6(Himdc)4(Ox)2 and meso-helical chains (P+M), resulting in a novel 2D structure based on the linkages of oxalate ligand. Complex 3 also presents 2D layer structure with uninodal 6-connected net topology, but crystallizes in the different space group and owns higher coordination number of the central metal atom than complex 2. A fast and precise method was developed for the determination of phenthoate and its enantiomeric ratio (ER) in three soil samples. A recently developed sample pretreatment technology—matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) was used to extract phenthoate simply and effectively. MSPD conditions, i.e. solid-phase Florisil amount, water content of Florisil–soil mixture, the constituent and volume of the eluting solvent, were optimized stepwise. The MSPD extract was directly used for quantitative determination of phenthoate by silica-based high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection. The recoveries of phenthoate from three different types of soils fortified at three levels of 0.1, 1, 10 μg/g ranged from 75 to 94% with RSDs of 1.5–6.5%. On this basis, phenthoate was further isolated from the remainder of MSPD extract by silica-based HPLC and then ER determined on HPLC with cellulose tris-3, 5-dimethylphenylcarbamate as chiral stationary phase. The ERs determined in the soils spiked with racemic or enantiomer-enriched phenthoate agreed sufficiently well with those in the corresponding standard solutions. Finally, the proposed method was successfully applied to the study of enantioselective degradation of phenthoate in the three soils under laboratory conditions. High enantioselectivity was observed in the two alkaline soils with (+)-enantiomer degrading faster than the (−)-enantiomer, while there was little to no enantioselectivity in the acidic soil. • Cyano-bridged transition-metal-based single-molecule magnets (SMMs) and single-chain magnets (SCMs) are overviewed. • The structures of related SMMs and SCMs are summarized. • The performances and related magnetic parameters of related SMMs and SCMs are presented. Novel functional molecular-based magnetic materials, especially some members of the Prussian blue family, have gained significant attention over the past few decades as they can be used beneficially in a variety of scientific fields. Herein, we survey the latest developments in cyano-bridged transition-metal-based single-molecule magnets (SMMs) and single-chain magnets (SCMs) research. The cyanide ligand, which has a strong affinity for transition metals, is a popular bridging ligand to construct a variety of molecular-magnetic materials, depending on the type of co-ligand. This review mainly focuses on research into structural topologies and the corresponding SMMs or SCMs. The first section provides a brief introduction into SMM and SCM behavior and important principles and strategies for constructing diverse magnetic materials. The remaining sections provide overviews of significant achievements reported in recent years. The synthesis, single-crystal structures and magnetic properties of two new double-zigzag-chain cyano-bridged heterobimetallic {[MII(Py-NOH)2][FeIII(Tp*)(CN)3]2}·H2O ([Fe III2 MII]) (Py–NOH = 4-pyridinealdoxime, Tp* = tris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borohydride, M = Ni (1), Fe (2)) compounds are reported. The crystal structures of both compounds were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 1 and 2 are isostructural, with the crystal structure comprising neutral double-zigzag (4,2-ribbon-like) bimetallic chains. The FeIII ion is coordinated by three cyanide carbon atoms and three nitrogen atoms of Tp* anions. Synthesis of air-stable and high-performance single-molecule magnets (SMMs) is challenging. Here, a heptadentate pentapyridyldiamine (BPA-TPA) ligand and fine-tuned axial phenoxy ligands are used to synthesize two triangular dodecahedral Dy(III) complexes [Dy(BPA-TPA)(4-methoxy-PhO)](BPh4)2·3CH2Cl2 (4) and [Dy(BPA-TPA)(2,4-dimethyl-PhO)](BPh4)2·0.85CH2Cl2 (5). Both complexes have high effective barriers exceeding 400 K and magnetic hysteresis up to 8 K, which is ascribed to one strong and short Dy–O bond combined with seven weak Dy–N bonds. Molecule‐based magnetic materials are promising candidates for molecular spin qubits, which utilize spin relaxation behavior. Various kinds of transition metal complexes with S=1/2 have been reported to act as spin qubits with long spin‐spin relaxation times (T2). However, the spin qubit properties of low‐spin Ni(III) complexes are not as well known since Ni(III) compounds are often unstable. We report here the slow magnetic relaxation behavior and T2 values for three kinds of low‐spin Ni(III) based complexes with S=1/2 under magnetically diluted conditions. [Ni(cyclam)X2]Y (cyclam=1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane) with octahedral structures and [Ni(mnt)2]− (mnt=maleonitriledithiolate) with a square‐planar structure underwent slow magnetic relaxations in the presence of a dc magnetic bias field. Neuritin is a neurotrophic factor that is activated by neural activity and neurotrophins. Its major function is to promote neurite growth and branching; however, the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. To address this issue, this study investigated the effects of neuritin on neurite and spine growth and intracellular Ca2+ concentration in rat cerebellar granule neurons (CGNs). Incubation of CGNs for 24 h with neuritin increased neurite length and spine density; this effect was mimicked by insulin and abolished by inhibiting insulin receptor (IR) or mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase/extracellular signal‐regulated kinase (ERK) activity. Calcium imaging and western blot analysis revealed that neuritin enhanced the increase in intracellular Ca2+ level induced by high K+, and stimulated the cell surface expression of CaV1.2 and CaV1.3 α subunits of the L‐type calcium channel, which was suppressed by inhibition of IR or mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase/ERK. Treatment with inhibitors of L‐type calcium channels, calmodulin, and calcineurin (CaN) abrogated the effects of neuritin on neurite length and spine density. A similar result was obtained by silencing nuclear factor of activated T cells c4, which is known to be activated by neuritin in CGNs. These results indicate that IR and ERK signaling as well as the Ca2+/CaN/nuclear factor of activated T cells c4 axis mediate the effects of neuritin on neurite and spine growth in CGNs. A photo-switchable single molecule-magnet (SMM) with two Dy ions bridged by a bis-bipyridine-dithienylethene ligand was synthesised. Isomerisation effects on the magnetic properties were investigated. Particular attention was paid to the slow relaxation of the magnetisation in order to determine precisely the role played by the ligand. A chiral mononuclear Dy III complex, formulated [Dy(PNO) 6 (H 2 O) 2 ]Cl 3 ( 1 ) (PNO = pyridine- N -oxide), has been prepared by using an achiral ligand through spontaneous resolution. Structure analyses show that complex 1 consists of a Dy III mononuclear unit and such units interact with each other by hydrogen bonds to form helical chains along a axis. Five lanthanide coordination clusters (CCs) [Ln7(µ3-OH)4(deg)2(Hdeg)2(ben)11]·xCH3CN [Ln = Eu (1), Gd (2), Tb (3), Dy (4), Ho (5); H2deg = diethylene glycol, Hben = benzoic acid; x = 7 for 1–4, x = 6 for 5], with diethylene glycol and benzoic acid as ligands, have been prepared and structurally characterized. All CCs consist of a heptanuclear lanthanide core with a scarce tip-sharing double-butterfly topology. Magnetic measurements revealed that CC 4 exhibits slow magnetic relaxation, with an energy barrier of about 6 K, whereas CC 3 shows outstanding magnetocaloric effects, with an entropy change of 34.6 J Kg–1 K–1 at 2 K and ΔH = 7 T. Selenium (Se) incorporated in selenoproteins as selenocysteine and supports various important cellular and organismal functions. We recently reported that chicken brain exhibited high priority for Se supply and retention under conditions of dietary Se deficiency and supernutrition Li et al. (2012) . However, the selenotranscriptome expressions and their response to Se status in chicken central nervous system (CNS) are unclear. To better understand the relationship of Se homeostasis and selenoproteins expression in chicken CNS, 1 day-old HyLine White chickens were fed a low Se diet (Se-L, 0.028 mg/g) supplemented with 4 levels of dietary Se (0 to 5.0 mg Se/kg) as Na 2 SeO 3 for 8 weeks. Then chickens were dissected for getting the CNS, which included cerebral cortex, cerebellum, thalamus, bulbus cinereus and marrow. The expressions of selenoproteome which have 24 selenoproteins were detected by the quantitative real-time PCR array. The concept of a selenoprotein hierarchy was developed and the hierarchy of different regions in chicken CNS was existence, especially cerebral cortex and bulbus cinereus. Two mononuclear Dy III complexes [Dy(H 2 TEG)(NO 3 ) 3 ]·[18-crown-6] (H 2 TEG = triethylene glycol) (1) and [Dy(H 2 TEG)Cl 3 ]·[18-crown-6] (2) have been prepared using H 2 TEG as ligands. Background: Liao River basin in Jilin Province is the place of origin of the Dongliao River. This study gives a comprehensive analysis of the vegetation coverage in the region and provides a potential theoretical basis for ecological restoration. Methods: The seasonal variation of vegetation greenness and dynamics based on the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in major land cover types in the region was studied. Analyzing the relationship NDVI, temperature and rainfall, we derived a set of predictor variables from 2001 to 2012 using the MODIS Terra level 1 Product (MOD02QKM). Results: The results showed a general increasing trend in NDVI value in the region, while 34.63 % of the region showed degradation. NDVI values begin to rise from April when plants are regreening and they drop in September when temperature are decreasing and the leaves are falling in the study area and temperature was found decreasing during the period of 2001-2012 while rainfall showed an increasing trend. This model could be used to observe the change in vegetation greenness and the dynamic effects of temperature and rainfall. Conclusion: This study provided important data for the environmental protection of the basin area. And we hope to provide scientific analysis for controlling water and soil erosion, maintaining the sustainable productivity of land resources, enhancing the treatment of water pollution and stimulating the virtuous cycle of the ecological system. Background: To identify candidate key genes and pathways related to resting mast cells in meningioma and the underlying molecular mechanisms of meningioma.Methods: Gene expression profiles of the used microarray datasets were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. GO and KEGG pathway enrichments of DEGs were analyzed using the ClusterProfiler package in R. The protein-protein interaction network (PPI), and TF-miRNA- mRNA co-expression networks were constructed. Further, the difference in immune infiltration was investigated using the CIBERSORT algorithm.Results: A total of 1499 DEGs were identified between tumor and normal controls. The analysis of the immune cell infiltration landscape showed that the probability of distribution of memory B cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and resting mast cells in tumor samples were significantly higher than those in the controls. Moreover, through WGCNA analysis, the module related to resting mast cells contained 158 DEGs, and KEGG pathway analysis revealed that the DEGs were dominant in the TNF signaling pathway, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, and IL-17 signaling pathway. Survival analysis of hub genes related to resting mast cells showed that the risk model was constructed based on 9 key genes. The TF-miRNA- mRNA co-regulation network, including MYC-miR-145-5p, TNFAIP3-miR-29c-3p, and TNFAIP3-hsa-miR-335-3p, were obtained. Further, 36 nodes and 197 interactions in the PPI network were identified.Conclusion: The results of this study revealed candidate key genes, miRNAs, and pathways related to resting mast cells involved in meningioma development, providing potential therapeutic targets for meningioma treatment. ABSTRACT Osteogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is essential for bone repair. Recently, microRNAs have been proven to play an important role in the regulation of MSC differentiation, including osteogenesis. Here, the function of microRNA-21 (miR-21) in the osteogenic differentiation of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUMSCs) was investigated. Briefly, the miR-21 mimics (m-miR-21) and the antisense miR-21 (as-miR-21) were transfected to hUMSCs, and the capacity of miR-21 for the osteogenic differentiation of hUMSCs was evaluated by the expression of osteogenic markers encoding alkaline phosphatase (ALP), runt-related gene-2 (RUNX-2) and osteocalcin (OCN), as well as by Alizarin red S staining. The results indicated that the overexpression of miR-21 elevated the expression level of the osteogenesis-related genes of hUMSCs. During this process, the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway activity had an increasing tendency responding to miR-21 up-regulation. This enhancement promoted the phosphorylation of GSK-3β, leading to the stabilization and high concentration accumulation of β-catenin in cytoplasm to activate the transcription of RUNX-2, and finally increased the osteogenesis of hUMSCs. The reaction of Fe(OAc)2 and Hbpypz with neutral TCNQ results in the formation of [Fe2(bpypz)2(TCNQ)2](TCNQ)2 (1), in which Hbpypz=3,5‐bis(2‐pyridyl)pyrazole and TCNQ=7,7′,8,8′‐tetracyano‐p‐quinodimethane. Crystal packing of 1 with uncoordinated TCNQ and π–π stacking of bpypz− ligands produces an extended two‐dimensional supramolecular coordination assembly. Temperature dependence of the dc magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity measurements indicate that 1 undergoes an abrupt spin crossover (SCO) with thermal spin transition temperatures of 339 and 337 K for the heating and cooling modes, respectively, resulting in a thermal hysteresis of 2 K. Remarkably, the temperature dependence of dc electrical transport exhibits a transition that coincides with thermal SCO, demonstrating the thermally induced magnetic and electrical bistability of 1, strongly correlating magnetism with electrical conductivity. Three different metal–organic frameworks, [Zn5(L)4(H2tpim)2(FA)4(H2O)2]n (1), [Zn(L)(Htpim)]n (2) and [Zn(L)(Htpim)]n (3) (HFA = formic acid), have been synthesized in a one-pot solvothermal reaction of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O, 5-nitroisophthalic acid (H2L), and 2,4,5-tri(4-pyridyl)-imidazole (Htpim). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that compound 1 is a double layer 2D {4·6·72·8·9}{4·6·8}3{6·7·9}2{72·10} topology network because of the existence of FA. In contrast, 2 displays an irregular 2D (44) topology, while 3 exhibits a 2D parallelogrammic (44) topology net built by symmetrical L and Htpim ligands in an up and down mode with binuclear [Zn2(COO)2] units. As far as the ratios of Zn/L/Htpim are concerned, 2 and 3 can be considered as isomers. The thermal stabilities, luminescence properties, selective fluorescence sensing and photocatalytic activities of 1–3 were also investigated. They all display high sensitivity as fluorescent sensors in the detection of acetone (ACE). Acellular bone matrix (ACBM) provides an osteoconductive scaffold for bone repair, but its osteoinductivity is poor. Strontium (Sr) improves the osteoinductivity of bone implants. In this study, we developed an organic composite-mediated strontium coating strategy for ACBM scaffolds by using the ion chelating ability of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and the surface adhesion ability of dopamine (DOPA). The organic coating composite, termed the CMC-DOPA-Sr composite, was synthesized under a mild condition, and its chemical structure and strontium ion chelating ability were then determined. After surface decoration, the physicochemical properties of the strontium-coated ACBM (ACBM-Sr) scaffolds were characterized, and their biocompatibility and osteoinductivity were determined in vitro and in vivo . The results showed that the CMC-DOPA-Sr composite facilitated strontium coating on the surface of ACBM scaffolds. The ACBM-Sr scaffolds possessed a sustained strontium ion release profile, exhibited good cytocompatibility, and enhanced the osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells in vitro . Furthermore, the ACBM-Sr scaffolds showed good histocompatibility after subcutaneous implantation in nude mice. Taken together, this study provided a simple and mild strategy to realize strontium coating for ACBM scaffolds, which resulted in good biocompatibility and improved osteoinductivity. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) emerged as a kind of promising electrode material have attracted considerable attentions in recent years. In this work, two 1,4-naphthalene dicarboxylate based MOFs, namely, Mn2(NDC)2(DMF)2 and Cd2(NDC)2(DMF)2 are synthesised by a solvothermal method and characterised by IR, XRD, TGA, SEM. Their electrochemical performances as anode materials for lithium ion battery are investigated for the first time. The result indicates both compounds showing single crystal feature with a bar shape can exhibit electrochemical reactivity. However, Mn2(NDC)2(DMF)2 has higher specific capacity in compared with Cd2(NDC)2(DMF)2. The reversible specific capacities of Mn2(NDC)2(DMF)2 at current density of 200, 500, 1000 mAg–1 after 300 cycles maintain at 765.4,524.4 and 309.3 mAhg–1, respectively, while the values are 401.8, 296.1 and 266.5 mAhg–1 for Cd2(NDC)2(DMF)2. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as novel electrode materials have attracted intensive attention; however, low electronic conductivity hinders their practical application in lithium ion batteries (LIBs). This work reports the synthesis of conductive MOF/CNT composites with enhanced electrochemical reactivity. The growth mechanism of the pristine MOF and the correlations of two components are investigated from the viewpoint of crystal engineering. The time dependent morphology evolution experiment reveals that [Ni3(HCOO)6] undergoes an ‘aggregation-based nucleation-growth’ mechanism. As a result, [Ni3(HCOO)6]/CNT microsized ellipsoidal particles are controllably synthesized by tuning the reaction time and the reagent concentration, where CNTs penetrate the entire particles thoroughly. The obtained [Ni3(HCOO)6]/CNT composites exhibit significantly enhanced electrochemical activity in comparison with the as-synthesized pristine [Ni3(HCOO)6]. This is ascribed to the effective 3D conductive network constructed by CNTs. Our results provide an effective synthetic strategy to construct conductive MOF/CNT composites, which pave the way for developing other conductive MOFs for electrode materials. Hydroxyapatite coatings were fabricated by the electrochemical deposition method on carbon/carbon composites and were post-treated with different concentrations and pH values of boiling NaOH solution. This study aimed to investigate the effect of Na + and NaOH concentrations on the structure, surface morphologies, and dissolution of hydroxyapatite coatings. The coating structure and its surface morphologies were determined by x-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The concentration of Ca 2+ was measured by an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer. Results revealed that significant differences can be seen between the two hydroxyapatite coatings in the morphology and components. in the morphology and components between the two hydroxyapatite coatings. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of weather on the occurrence of acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction in Chinese subjects. Methods: Weather and climate data, as well as the occurrence of STEMI, were monitored at 2 am, 8 am, 2 pm, and 8 pm between 2003 and 2010. Generalized additive Poisson models were utilized to plot the numbers of patients with STEMI within 6 hour intervals against climatological variations, after accounting for the effects of the hour and season. Results: The inclusion of meteorological conditions, including observed atmospheric pressure (hPa, hectopascal) variations during the previous three hours and temperature (°C, degrees Celsius), significantly affected the occurrence of STEMI, as measured every six hours. Compared with the 50th percentile of atmospheric pressure variations, the RRs (95% CI) for the first percentile, 10th percentile, 25th percentile, 75th percentile, 90th percentile, and 99th percentile of atmospheric pressure variation over lag 0 were 1.66 (1.36∼2.03), 1.47 (1.30∼1.67), 1.22 (1.12∼1.33), 1.16 (1.07∼1.25), 1.27 (1.13∼1.43), and 1.16 (0.92∼1.46), respectively. Compared to the 50th percentile of temperature, the RRs (95% CI) for the first percentile, 10th percentile, 25th percentile, 75th percentile, 90th percentile, and 99th percentile of temperature over lag 0 were 0.58 (0.40∼0.83), 0.60 (0.46∼0.78), 0.69 (0.57∼0.83), 1.33 (1.14∼1.56), 1.39 (1.13∼1.71), and 1.17 (0.84∼1.63), respectively. Objective: To develop a risk score by incorporating Hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) with traditional risk factors for the prediction of coronary artery disease (CAD) in Chinese subjects. Methods: A total of 196 consecutive subjects (131 males and 65 females) aged 38-89 years who underwent coronary angiography were enrolled in this study. HbA1c risk score sheets for the prediction of CAD were developed using age, gender and HbA1c. A receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis was used to determine the optimum cut-off levels of the HbA1c risk score for predicting CAD. Results: In the ROC curve analysis, the optimal cut-off value of the HbA1c score for predicting CAD was 5.1, with a sensitivity of 72.0% and a specificity of 75.5% (area under the curve 0.781, 95% confidence interval 0.709 to 0.854, p=0.000). Conclusions: The HbA1c score system is a simple and feasible method that can be used for the prediction of CAD. Large-scale studies are needed to further substantiate these results. © 2014 S. However, the functions of FER homologs have not been deeply investigated in apple (Malus domestica), an important economic fruit crop distributed worldwide, especially in China. In this study, we identified an apple homolog of Arabidopsis FER , named MdFER (MDP0000390677). The two proteins encoded by AtFER and MdFER share similar domains: an extracellular malectin-like domain, a transmembrane domain, and an intracellular kinase domain. MdFER was further proven to localize to the plasma membrane in the epidermal cells of Nicotiana benthamiana. MdFER was widely expressed in different apple tissues, but the highest expression was found in roots. In addition, expression of MdFER was significantly induced by treatment with abscisic acid (ABA) and salt (NaCl). Overexpressing MdFER dramatically improved the resistance to salt stress and reduced the sensitivity to ABA in apple callus, while suppressing MdFER expression showed contrary effects. Furthermore, ectopic expression of MdFER in Arabidopsis significantly increased the salt tolerance and reduced the sensitivity to ABA. In addition, under salt stress and ABA treatment, Arabidopsis with highly expressed MdFER accumulated less reactive oxygen species (ROS), and the enzymatic activity of two ROS scavengers, superoxide dismutase and catalase, was higher compared with that of wild type (WT). Background: This study was intended to investigate the genomic landscape of the immune microenvironments of brain metastases in breast cancer.Methods: Three gene expression profile datasets (GSE76714, GSE125989 and GSE43837) of breast cancer with brain metastases were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. After differential expression analysis, the tumor immune microenvironment and immune cell infiltration were analyzed. Then immune-related genes were identified, followed by function analysis, transcription factor (TF)-miRNA-mRNA co-regulatory network analysis, and survival analysis of metastatic recurrence.Results: The present results showed that the tumor immune microenvironment in brain metastases was immunosuppressed compared with primary caner. Compared with primary cancer samples, the infiltration ratio of plasma cells in brain metastases samples was significantly higher, while the infiltration ratio of macrophages M2 cells in brain metastases samples was significantly lower. Total 42 immune-related genes were identified, such as THY1 and NEU2. CD1B, THY1 and DOCK2 were found to be implicated in the metastatic recurrence of breast cancer.Conclusions: Targeting macrophages or plasma cells may be new strategies for immunotherapy of breast cancer with brain metastases. THY1 and NEU2 may be potential therapeutic targets for breast cancer with brain metastases, and THY1, CD1B and DOCK2 may serve as potential prognostic markers for improvement of brain metastases survival.
