Abstract

The electronic structures of active sites fundamentally determine the catalytic performance in chemical reactions and are also crucial for obtaining a detailed understanding of charge transport and reaction mechanisms. In this study, the regulation of the electronic structure of active metal Pd can be achieved through a multi-step electron transfer process formed by a synergy of [Ca24Al28O64]4+(e−)4 (C12A7:e−) electride and conductive graphene (Gr). The composite catalytic system (Pd/Gr/C12A7:e−) significantly facilitates the transfer of electrons from electron-rich Pd active sites to aryl halides in Suzuki-coupling reactions, which enables superior catalytic performance with TOFs above 20 times higher than well-studied negatively charged Pd catalysts. No catalytic degradation was observed even after impregnating the catalyst in water because of the well-protected C12A7:e− electride by Gr. The present efficient catalyst can further trigger various carbon–carbon cross-coupling reactions with high activities. These results provide significant advantages for expanding the potential applications of electride materials, thereby allowing precise control of the electronic structure of the active sites and aiding in tuning the reaction conditions using a simple method. Abstract

Mediumfrequency fiber Bragg grating (FBG) acceleration sensors are used in important applications in mechanical, aerospace and weapon equipment, and have strict requirements in terms of resonance frequency and sensitivity. A novel medium-frequency accelerometer, based on fiber Bragg grating and flexible hinges, is proposed in this paper. The differential structure doubles the sensitivity of the sensor while avoiding temperature effects. The structure model and principle for the sensor are introduced, the sensor’s sensing characteristics are theoretically analyzed, and the structure parameters for the sensor are determined through numerical analysis. The sensing experiments show that the resonance frequency of the sensor is approximately 2800 Hz, the sensitivity is 21.8 pm/g in the flat frequency range of 50–1000 Hz, and the proposed sensor has a good temperature self-compensation function and lateral anti-interference capability.

Abstract

Summary: This article addresses the leader‐following synchronization problem of multiple rigid spacecraft systems affected by external disturbances with the directed topology. An event‐triggered distributed observer is proposed to estimate the leader's state. By integrating a performance adjustable function (PAF) into the event‐triggered mechanism, the sampling frequency and estimation speed can be adjusted. Based on the event‐triggered distributed observer, an adaptive event‐triggered control scheme is proposed to aganist the external disturbances. With the adaptive event‐triggered control scheme, continuous communication between spacecraft is no longer required and Zeno‐free property can be guaranteed. Abstract

The effective non‐precious metal catalysts toward the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) are highly desirable for electrochemical water splitting. Herein, we prepare a novel glass‐ceramic (Ni1.5Sn@triMPO4) by embedding crystalline Ni1.5Sn nanoparticles into amorphous trimetallic phosphate (triMPO4) matrix. This unique crystalline‐amorphous nanostructure synergistically accelerates the surface reconstruction to active Ni(Fe)OOH, due to the low vacancy formation energy of Sn in glass‐ceramic and high adsorption energy of PO43− at the VO sites. Compared to the control samples, this dual‐phase glass‐ceramic exhibits a remarkably lowered overpotential and boosted OER kinetics after surface reconstruction, rivaling most of state‐of‐the‐art electrocatalysts. The residual PO43− and intrinsic VO sites induce redistribution of electron states, thus optimizing the adsorption of OH* and OOH* intermediates on metal oxyhydroxides and promoting the OER activity. Abstract

Vanadium dopant into NiFe LDH nanosheets can not only favor mild self-reduction of Pt ions into clusters, but also boost the water-splitting kinetics of the resulting Pt/NiFeV LDH nanocomposites via regulating the interfacial electron redistribution. This work can spark inspiration of designing other bifunctional electrocatalysts toward efficient energy conversion and storage.
