The visual quality and spatial distribution of architectural styles represent a city’s image, influence inhabitants’ living conditions, and may have positive or negative social consequences which are critical to urban sensing and designing. Conventional methods of identifying architectural styles rely on human labor and are frequently time-consuming, inefficient, and subjective in judgment. These issues significantly affect the large-scale management of urban architectural styles. Fortunately, deep learning models have robust feature expression abilities for images and have achieved highly competitive results in object detection in recent years. They provide a new approach to supporting traditional architectural style recognition. Therefore, this paper summarizes 22 architectural styles in a study area which could be used to define and describe urban architectural styles in most Chinese urban areas. Then, this paper introduced a Faster-RCNN general framework of architectural style classification with a VGG-16 backbone network, which is the first machine learning approach to identifying architectural styles in Chinese cities. Finally, this paper introduces an approach to constructing an urban architectural style dataset by mapping the identified architectural style through continuous street view imagery and vector map data from a top-down building contour map. The experimental results show that the architectural style dataset created had a precision of 57.8%, a recall rate of 80.91%, and an F1 score of 0.634. This dataset can, to a certain extent, reflect the geographical distribution characteristics of a wide variety of urban architectural styles. The proposed approach could support urban design to improve a city’s image.

Background Titanium mesh exposure after cranioplasty is a possible complication and is usually managed by mesh removal and flap transfer, but the advantages of the rigid prosthesis are then lost. This study aimed to present our experience with negative pressure wound therapy combined with soft tissue dilation for retaining the titanium mesh in patients with mesh exposure after cranioplasty. Methods This retrospective study included patients treated between 01/2016 and 05/2019 at the Jiangyin Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University School of Medicine. The wound was cleaned, and a cystic space was created for the tissue dilator, which was used with a self-designed negative pressure dressing. After the target dilation was achieved, the repair was conducted while retaining the titanium mesh. Results Eight patients were included (seven males and one female; 53.6 ± 8.8 (range, 43–65) years of age). The exposed mesh area ranged from 1 × 1 to 4 × 5.5 cm. The thinning scalp area around the exposed mesh ranged from 3.6 × 3.8 to 4 × 5.5 cm. Five patients had positive wound cultures and received sensitive antibiotics. The dilator embedding time was 20–28 days. The time of negative pressure wound therapy was 25–33 days. The hospital stay was 30–41 days. Primary wound healing was achieved in all eight patients. There were no signs of recurrence after 6–18 months of follow-up. The cranial CT scans were unremarkable. Conclusions Negative pressure wound therapy combined with soft tissue dilation for exposed titanium mesh after cranioplasty might help retain the titanium mesh.

Severe hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) caused by enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection is associated with high mortality and disability. DC-SIGN, a receptor for EV71, is widely distributed in dendritic cells and may influence the severity of HFMD caused by EV71 infection. This observational study attempts to explore whether single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in DC-SIGN are related to the severity of EV71-associated HFMD. Based on linkage disequilibrium and functional predictions, two DC-SIGN SNPs were selected and tested to explore their potential association with the severity of HFMD caused by EV71 infection. Two hundred sixteen Han Chinese children with HFMD caused by EV71 were enrolled to obtain clinical data, including the severity of HFMD, serum DC-SIGN levels, and DC-SIGN SNPs. We found a significant association between the rs7248637 polymorphism (A vs. G: OR = 0.644, 95% CI = 0.515-0.806) and the severity of HFMD caused by EV71 infection, as well as the rs4804800 polymorphism (A vs. G: OR = 1.539, 95% CI =1.229-1.928). These two DC-SIGN SNPs may have an effect on the severity of HFMD caused by EV71 infection.

The CSH-bending and CH3-rocking infrared bands of CH3SH have been investigated in Fourier transform spectra recorded at 0.001 cm−1 resolution employing synchrotron radiation at the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon. The relative band strengths and structures are quite different from those of the CH3OH methanol analogue, with the CSH bend being very weak and both the in-plane and out-of-plane CH3 rocks being strong with intensities greater than the C–S stretch. The CSH bend has parallel a-type character with no detectable b-type component. The out-of-plane CH3 rock is a purely c-type perpendicular band, whereas the in-plane rock is of mixed a/b character. Sub-bands have been assigned for A and E torsional species up to about K = 10 for each vibrational mode, providing upper-state term values from which K-reduced substate origins were determined. For the CSH bend, the origins follow the customary oscillatory torsional pattern as a function of K with a sharply reduced amplitude of 0.362 cm−1 compared to the 0.653 cm−1 for the ground state. The torsional energy curves for the out-of-plane rock are also well-behaved but have inverted ordering of the A–E torsional splitting components and a larger amplitude of 1.33 cm−1. In contrast, the substate origins for the in-plane rock are scattered over a range of about 2 cm−1 without clear oscillatory structure. Several instances of coupling among the lower modes and the ground state via resonances between accidentally near-degenerate levels have been observed and characterized. Ab initio calculations are found to give a good representation of the frequency and relative intensity patterns for the lower vibrational modes.

Objective. To explore the diagnostic value and prognostic evaluation of the autophagy-related protein expression level among patients with sepsis comorbid with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Methods. A total of 182 sepsis patients were admitted to Naval Medical Center from March 2016 to April 2020 and divided into the acute respiratory distress syndrome and non-ARDS groups. Immunoblotting was employed to identify the expression of autophagy-associated protein from participants’ peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Multivariate linear regression analysis was used to examine the association between mortality and the protein expression in sepsis complicated with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Results. Among the 182 patients with sepsis included in this study, 82 patients had acute respiratory distress syndrome and 100 patients did not have acute respiratory distress syndrome. We observed that microtubule-related protein 1A/1B LC3II, Beclin-1, RAB7, and LAMP2 protein expression was significantly decreased in septic patients with ARDS, and p62 was significantly increased. Further receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that autophagy-related proteins had a high recognition ability in sepsis complicated with acute respiratory distress syndrome. LAMP2 protein was the best among them, and its specificity was up to 91.46%. In this study, 38 of the 82 patients with sepsis complicated with acute respiratory distress syndrome died, with a mortality rate of 46.34%. We found that the autophagy level was further inhibited in the patients with death, LC3II, Beclin-1, and RAB7. However, the lysosomal-associated membrane protein 2 levels in the survival patients were remarkably higher than that in the dead patients. In addition, the p62 level was lower in survival patients as well. Our results indicated age and SOFA score were the independent risk factors for mortality in septic patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Conclusion. The autophagy level is significantly inhibited in septic patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome, and autophagy-associated proteins LC3II, Beclin-1, RAB7, LAMP2, and p62 have good value for the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of sepsis comorbid with acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Severe hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is sometimes associated with critical complications that can cause substantial child mortality. Activity of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) may influence the outcomes of enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection. This case-control study aimed to assess the association of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the gene encoding the VDR with the severity of EV71-associated HFMD. We selected four VDR SNPs based on linkage disequilibrium and functional prediction, and we tested them using the SNPscan multiple SNP typing method for potential association with severity of EV71-associated HFMD. We found a significant association in the case of rs11574129 (G vs A: odds ratio (OR), 0.3439; 95% confidence intervals (CI), 0.1778-0.6653) and rs739837 (T vs G: OR, 0.5580; 95%CI, 0.3352-0.9291). Our results suggest that these two SNPs may influence the severity of EV71-associated HFMD.

Analysis of torsion-rotation structure in the far-infrared Fourier transform synchrotron spectrum of CH332SH recorded from 50 to 560 cm−1 at the Far-Infrared Beamline of the Canadian Light Source has been extended to higher near-free rotor torsional states reaching up into the region of the small-amplitude vibrations. A variety of sub-bands has been assigned for torsional quantum number up to vt = 5, expanding the database of ground-state energy term values to higher K and vt levels to provide a broad foundation for associated investigations of the vibrational spectrum. The origins of the high-vt sub-states fit quite well to a pattern of free-rotor parabolic curves as a function of K, but with a lower value of the torsional constant F than obtained from previous global analysis of lower-vt data. Numerous resonances perturbing and mixing coupled near-degenerate sub-states have been observed, arising from interactions both within the ground state and between ground and excited vibrational levels.

The dramatic increase in sensitivity, spectral coverage and resolution of radio astronomical facilities in recent years has opened new possibilities for observation of chemical differentiation and isotopic fractionation in protostellar sources to shed light on their spatial and temporal evolution. In warm interstellar environments, methanol is an abundant species, hence spectral data for its isotopic forms are of special interest. In the present work, the millimeter-wave spectrum of the $^{13}$CH$_3$OD isotopologue has been investigated over the region from 150$-$510 GHz to provide a set of transition frequencies for potential astronomical application. The focus is on two types of prominent $^{13}$CH$_3$OD spectral groupings, namely the $a$-type $^qR$-branch multiplets and the $b$-type $Q$-branches. Line positions are reported for the $^qR(J)$ clusters for $J = 3$ to 10 for the $v_{\rm t} = 0$ and 1 torsional states, and for a number of $v_{\rm t} = 0$ and 1 $^rQ(J)$ or $^pQ(J)$ line series up to $J = 25$. Quantifying the response of tree transpiration (量化林分蒸腾对大气蒸发需求和土壤供水变化的响应能更好预测林分水分利用和水分循环特征并深化对林水关系的认识。本研究以六盘山南侧的香水河小流域的华北落叶松人工林为研究对象,采用热扩散探针法监测树干液流,同步测定环境因子,分析林分蒸腾对潜在蒸散和土壤体积含水率变化的响应关系。结果表明: 林分蒸腾对土壤体积含水率变化响应的曲线在不同潜在蒸散水平下基本相似,即随土壤体积含水率增大,林分蒸腾先快速后缓慢增大,达到阈值后趋于平稳,该过程可用饱和指数增长函数得到较好的拟合;但土壤水分阈值存在差异,且阈值随潜在蒸散的升高而增大。林分日蒸腾量随潜在蒸散增加的变化遵循抛物线曲线,也存在阈值效应。采用连乘方式耦合了生长季中期林分蒸腾响应土壤体积含水率和潜在蒸散的关系,形成了同时考虑土壤供水能力和大气蒸发潜力影响的林分蒸腾模型,该模型能很好地估测蒸腾的日变化,可为人工林水分调控管理提供指导。.
