This study presents zircon U–Pb geochronology and Hf and O isotope data for granitic rocks in the Zijinshan ore field, southwestern Fujian Province, China. The intrusive rocks comprise monzogranite, granite and granodiorite. The magmatic zircon U–Pb ages from these granitic rocks can be divided into four episodes: episodes 1 (157.9–159.9 Ma) and 2 (141 Ma) in the Late Jurassic and episodes 3 (108.1–103.2 Ma) and 4 (97.5–99.7 Ma) in the Middle and Late Cretaceous, respectively. Patterns of rare-earth elements (REE) show enrichment in light REE and obvious negative Eu anomalies. These rocks are also enriched in Rb, Th, U, La, Ce, Nd and Hf, and depleted in Ba, Nb, Sr, P and Ti. The increasing La/Yb ratio and decreasing heavy REE content with decreasing age may imply an increasing contribution of mantle-derived materials from the Late Jurassic to Cretaceous. The zircon ϵHf(t) and δ18O values, ranging from −37.7 to −2.8 and 12.0 ‰ to 6.3 ‰, respectively, indicate that the lower crust is an important source of granitic rocks. There was a significant increase in ϵHf(t) values and a decrease in δ18O values in the younger magmatic episodes (3 and 4), which ranged from −11.4 to −0.6 and 10.7 to 6.3 ‰, respectively. This suggests an increasing contribution of mantle-derived magma to the crustal melts from the Late Jurassic to late Early Cretaceous in response to the changing regional tectonic setting from compression to extension and an increasing interaction between the crust and mantle.

In this paper, plasma silver (Ag) modified zinc oxide (ZnO) (AZO) was used to form AZO nanomaterials (including AZO nanofilms (NFm), AZO nanowires (NWs) and AZO nanoflowers (NFw)) in a two-step-controlled manner to investigate the effect of compounding different contents of Ag on the linear optical aspects of ZnO materials. The growth mechanism of the AZO nanomaterials with different strategies is discussed. If Ag nanoparticles (NPs) grow on the ZnO NFm surface, they first grow with ZnO as the core and then self-core into islands, which are undoubtedly influenced by factors such as the growth mechanism of ZnO as well as Ag. If Ag is grown on the surface of the ZnO NWs and ZnO NFw, it is more likely to self-core owing to factors such as the roughness of the ZnO NWs and ZnO NFw surfaces. The AZO nanomaterials have excellent optical properties based on the surface plasmon resonance, local electromagnetic field and charge transfer mechanism between Ag and ZnO. With the increase in Ag content, the absorption edges of AZO NFm are red-shifted, and the absorption edges of AZO NWs and AZO NFw are first blue-shifted and then red-shifted. The results show that AZO nanomaterials prepared using different methods not only have different growth morphologies, but also have different optical properties with potential for the preparation of optical devices.

This article will further analyze the different influences of Chinese and western religions on the law. It is worth pointing out that the living environment of law in the west is not as good as Chinese people think, and the authority of law and people's belief in law are gradually drifting away. Based on the basic theory of freedom of religious belief, this paper analyzes the different influences of Chinese and western religions on the law, analyzes the present situation and demands for legal protection of freedom of religious belief in contemporary China, and tries to put forward feasible solutions.

The cycle-to-cycle variations (CCVs) in reciprocating internal combustion engines may cause negative influence on diving performance, fuel economy, and emissions. Especially, lean-burn technology or exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) was used to improve engine combustion efficiency and reduce NOx, and the combustion boundary was limited by increased CCVs. Therefore, it was important to identify the complex dynamics of CCVs and to take measures for inhibiting them. The CCVs based on indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP) time series were examined in a lean-burn natural gas engine with a non-uniform pre-mixture based on statistical and multifractal theories. Tests were conducted at an engine speed of 1000 rpm and low loads of 10% and 25%, and combustion data at an engine load of 10% were analysed in detail because the CCVs are less sensitive to changes of gas injection timing (GIT) at the higher engine load. The nonlinear dynamics of the CCVs was revealed at the different GIT from 1° to 120°CA ATDC. The statistical properties of IMEP time series were characterised by distributions of probability density functions (PDF), the multifractal complexities of the combustion fluctuations were quantitatively analysed by the singularity spectra in terms of the Holder exponent based on the theory of wavelet transform modulus maxima, and the primary source leading to the increased CCVs and complex dynamics in a natural gas engine with a non-uniform pre-mixture was identified using 3D-computational fluid dynamics simulations. Results show that as the GIT increased, the kurtosis of the IMEP time series systematically decreased from 592 to 1.8, the fast dynamics transitions from super-Gaussian to quasi-Gaussian distributions in combustion system were revealed, and the lower value of kurtosis implied the lower degree of intermittency. Except for the GIT of 60°CA ATDC, the value of the Holder exponent $$h_{0} > 0.5$$ , which implies that the CCVs for the other GITs behaved like a persistent walk or positive correlation. For GITs of 60° and 90°CA ATDC, the narrow broadness of the singularity spectrum implicated a monofractality, while the obvious multifractal properties could be identified for the other GITs. The transitions of the dynamic behaviours may be caused by the degree of mixture in-homogeneity combined with a new mechanism of “prior-cycle effects” proposed in this paper, and the effect mechanism was not only associated with the residual gas in the cylinder but also with the residual gas fuel in the intake port, rather than independent effect of residual gas in cylinder reported in previous researches. Our research results provided the deeper understanding on the dynamics of combustion system in multi-point injection natural gas engines and may be beneficial to achieve nonlinear prediction and to develop improved control strategies for inhibiting the CCVs.

Recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) (r-PET) is a thermoplastic polyester. Repeated heat processing of r-PET may negatively affect physical properties due to thermal degradation. Therefore, to improve the physical properties of r-PET, poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) samples with different molecular weights (low, medium, and high) were synthesized using atom transfer radical polymerization. The synthesized PGMA polymer was then subjected to 1H-NMR characterization and gel permeation chromatography for the analysis of molecular weight and its distribution. The intrinsic viscosity values of the r-PET/PGMA blend were increased from 0.61 to 0.8 dL g− 1 using high-molecular-weight PGMA at 2 wt%, and the glass transition temperature was increased from 71.8 °C for r-PET to 82.2 °C using high-molecular-weight PGMA at 1 wt%. Young’s modulus was increased by 1.1 times using 2 wt% high-molecular-weight PGMA compared with raw r-PET. All r-PET/PGMA blends samples exhibited notable shear thinning behavior and high viscosity compared with raw r-PET, and r-PET/PGMA blends are found with medium-molecular-weight PMGA polymers observing optimal physical properties. With these enhanced properties, the r-PET/PGMA blends can be applied in the recycling of PET, such as in eco-friendly yarn, packaging materials, and melt-brown non-woven fabric applications.

The paper studies the parametric stochastic roll motion in the random waves. The differential equation of the ship parametric roll under random wave is established with considering the nonlinear damping and ship speed. Random sea surface is treated as a narrow-band stochastic process, and the stochastic parametric excitation is studied based on the effective wave theory. The nonlinear restored arm function obtained from the numerical simulation is expressed as the approximate analytic function. By using the stochastic averaging method, the differential equation of motion is transformed into Ito’s stochastic differential equation. The steady-state probability density function of roll motion is obtained, and the results are validated with the numerical simulation and model test.

To explore the influencing factors in children with chronicity immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), and to provide basis for judging the prognosis and treatment in children with ITP.The clinical data of children with ITP admitted to The Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University in the past 5 years were retrospectively analyzed and followed up for more than 1 year. According to the inclusion criteria, the eligible cases (328 cases in total) were selected and collected through medical record system retrieval, outpatient clinic and telephone follow-up. Independent influencing factors affecting the prognosis of children with ITP were obtained through single-factor and multi-factor logistic analysis, and their predictive value for the prognosis of ITP in children were evaluated.Of 328 children with ITP, 208 were newly diagnosed with ITP (64%), 54 were persistent ITP (16%), 66 were chronic ITP (20%), and the remission rate within 1 year was 79.9%. The results of univariate analysis showed that, age, pre-morbidity history of infection and vaccination, antinuclear antibodies, initial absolute lymphocyte count（ALC） and treatment options were related to the prognosis of the children (P0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the history of infection and vaccination before onset, initial treatment options, and ALC at the time of initial diagnosis were independent factors affecting the prognosis of children with ITP (P0.05). Let $n$ be a positive integer and $a$ an integer prime to $n$. Multiplication by $a$ induces a permutation over $\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}=\{\overline{0},\overline{1},\ldots ,\overline{n-1}\}$. Lerch’s theorem gives the sign of this permutation. We explore some applications of Lerch’s result to permutation problems involving quadratic residues modulo $p$ and confirm some conjectures posed by Sun [‘Quadratic residues and related permutations and identities’, Preprint, 2018, arXiv:1809.07766]. We also study permutations involving arbitrary $k$th power residues modulo $p$ and primitive roots modulo a power of $p$.

Background Helminths immunomodulate the host immune system by secreting proteins to create an inhibitory environment as a strategy for survival in the host. As a bystander effect, this balances the host immune system to reduce hypersensitivity to allergens or autoantigens. Based on this, helminth therapy has been used to treat some allergic or autoimmune diseases. As a tissue-dwelling helminth, Trichinella spiralis infection has been identified to have strong immunomodulatory effects; the effective components in the worm have not yet been identified. Methods The soluble extracts of T. spiralis adult worms and muscle larvae were used to treat airway inflammation before and after an ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitization/challenge in an OVA-induced asthma mouse model. The therapeutic effects were observed by measuring the level of inflammation in the lungs. Results The soluble products derived from T. spiralis parasites, especially from adult worms, were able to ameliorate OVA-induced airway inflammatory responses which were associated with reduced eosinophil infiltration, OVA-specific IgE, Th2 cytokine IL-4, and increased IL-10 and TGF-β. The stimulation of the Treg response may contribute to the alleviated allergic inflammation. Conclusions Trichinella spiralis worm extracts stimulate regulatory cytokines that are associated with reduced allergic airway inflammation. The identification of effective components in the adult worm extracts will be a crucial approach for developing a novel therapeutic for allergic and autoimmune diseases.

This paper investigates the simultaneous stabilization of a collection of battery-powered networked control systems (NCSs) with medium access constraint and communication energy limitation. Each time the channels can only accommodate a limited number of systems for communication and the successful packet arrival rate at the controller depends on the power used by the sensor. Then in order to satisfy the medium access constraint, reduce the communication energy cost and stabilize the collection of NCSs, one needs to decide when to schedule which plant to communicate by which channel and by which power level. Based on the average dwell time technique, sufficient conditions for the exponential mean square stability of a single plant are given at first. Then, based on the stability conditions, a period scheduling policy is proposed to assign the channel accessing sequence and power level such that all the plants are simultaneously stabilized. Finally, a new framework for channel assignment, power allocation and controller design is constructed, which can guarantee a desired decay rate for each system and a minimal energy consumption for the group of systems. The effectiveness of the methodology is demonstrated with numerical simulations.

Background Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a genetic metabolic disorder in which patients have no ability to convert phenylalanine to tyrosine. Several autoimmune diseases have been reported to combine with PKU, co-existent of PKU and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) has not been presented. Case presentation The girl was diagnosed with PKU at the age of 1 month confirmed by molecular data. At the age of 3.5 years, she presented with pain and swelling of her right ankle, right knee, and right hip joint. After a serial of examinations, she was diagnosed with JIA and treated with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Conclusions We report a rare case of a 4-year-old girl with PKU and JIA, which supports a possible interaction between PKU and JIA. Long-term metabolic disturbance may increase the susceptibility to JIA. Further chronic inflammation could alter the metabolism of tryptophan and tyrosine to increase blood Phe concentration. In addition, corticosteroid and methotrexate therapy for JIA may increase blood Phe concentration.

The current study analysed concentrations of furan and its derivatives in coffee products commercially available in China based on an improved headspace gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-GC-MS) method and estimated health risks. A total of 101 samples of coffee products on the Chinese market was analysed. Furan (98%, ND-6569 μg/kg) and 2-methylfuran (100%, 2-29639 μg/kg) were the compounds with the highest concentrations and detection rates in coffee products. The mean dietary exposure of Chinese consumers to furan and the sum of furan, 2-methylfuran and 3-methylfuran in coffee products was 0.09 and 0.46 μg/kg bw/day, respectively. For the neoplastic effects of furan, the margin of exposure (MOE) was 14,556 for the mean dietary exposure of consumers. For the non-neoplastic effects of furan, MOEs were 711 and 139 for furan and the sum of furan, 2-methylfuran and 3-methylfuran, respectively. Overall, a health concern is indicated for coffee consumers with MOEs below 10000.

Isothermal crystallization kinetics are performed in poly(butylene succinate-co-propylene succinate) (PBSPS) in a BS/PS ratio of 10/0(PBS) to 7/3 with 0 and 0.02 mol% glycerol, indicating PBSPS copolymers are 3D growths initiated by heterogeneous nucleation. Crystallization growth rates of BS/PS = 10/0(PBS) to 7/3 with 0.02 mol% glycerol are faster than with 0 mol% glycerol, for a given temperature range. Nonisothermal crystallization kinetics are performed to clarify the effects of different glycerol proportions for BS/PS = 7/3. The 0.01 mol% glycerol is used to form a nucleation site, in which the kinetic energy of the molecular chain can be driven to increase the packing ability. When glycerol is increased to 0.02 mol%, the restriction of the glycerol on the movement of the molecular chain becomes more extensive to decrease the relative crystallinity. Hence, a small amount of glycerol content can improve the relative crystallinity and crystallization rate of PBSPS copolymer.
