In the process of coal caving, the basis of identifying coal and rock by the vibration signal is the difference of the tail beam response when coal-rock impacts the tail beam, and the tail beam in the hydraulic support is a complex box structure with multiplate transverse and longitudinal welding, and the response difference of the box structure-based tail beam under the impact of coal-rock is not clear. Therefore, this paper studies the response difference of box structure-based tail beam when coal-rock particle impacts on the box structure-based tail beam. Firstly, through the construction and analysis of the impact theoretical model of the coal-rock particle and metal plate, it is found that the complex box structure of the tail beam makes it extremely difficult to establish the impact theoretical model of the coal-rock and box structure-based tail beam, so it is impossible to directly study the response of the box structure-based tail beam when the coal-rock impacts on the box structure-based tail beam by the theoretical method. Therefore, the impact simulation model of coal-rock particle and box structure-based tail beam is further established. Through the changes of kinetic energy and internal energy of the box structure-based tail beam system, the contact response of collision contact zone, and noncollision contact zone of the box structure-based tail beam, the response difference of box structure-based tail beam when coal-rock particle impacts on the box structure-based tail beam is analyzed. Then, by changing the impact speed and contact mode of the coal-rock particle, the effects of impact speed and the contact mode on the response difference of the box structure-based tail beam are studied separately. The conclusion shows that the response difference of the box structure-based tail beam under the impact of the coal particle and rock particle is obvious, and the difference increases as the impact speed increases, and the difference increases as the contact range increases.

To study the load transfer characteristics of a two-legged shield powered support, a numerical simulation model of the support was established using the multibody dynamics software ADAMS. The model took full account of the hydraulic-elastic deformation characteristics of the support, as a series spring-damper system was used to replace the leg and the equilibrium jack. The canopy, goaf shield, lemniscate bars, and equilibrium jack are equivalent to flexible bodies. The setting force of the leg was provided by the preload of the equivalent spring, the static roof load was simulated using a slope signal, and the impact load was simulated using a step signal. Using the model, the impact and excitation effects of each hinge joint of the support were analyzed under different impact load conditions across the canopy. The results show that the location of the impact load affects the force transmissions of all hinge points of the support. Both the impact effect and the excitation effect are at a minimum when the impact force is located near the leg action line. These results are useful for the adaptive control and structural design optimization of the support.

Abstract Objective Endovascular therapy (EVT) is the most successful treatment for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to large vessel occlusion (LVO) in the anterior circulation. However, futile recanalization (FR) seriously affects the prognosis of these patients. The aim of this study was to investigate predictors of FR after EVT in patients with AIS. Method Patients diagnosed with AIS due to anterior circulation LVO and receiving EVT between June 2020 and October 2022 were prospectively enrolled. FR after EVT was defined as a poor 90-day prognosis (modified Rankin Scale [mRS] score ≥ 3) despite achieving successful reperfusion (modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction [mTICI] classification of 2b-3). Abstract Purpose To investigate the predictive role of pre-thrombolytic high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) on the safety and efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Methods Patients with AIS who underwent intravenous thrombolysis with recombinant plasminogen activator (rtPA) or urokinase without endovascular therapy from June 2019 to June 2022 were retrospectively analysed. All patients were grouped into two groups (high or low hs-CRP group) according to the median value of hs-CRP before intravenous thrombolysis. The baseline NIHSS, NIHSS changes before and after thrombolysis (ΔNIHSS), the rate of good thrombolysis response (NIHSS decreased ≥ 2 points from baseline), the rate of any intracranial hemorrhage, age, sex, hypertension, diabetes, uric acid and platelet count were compared between the two groups. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify possible prognostic factors for a good thrombolysis response. Results A total of 212 patients were included in the analysis, with a mean age of 66.3 ± 12.5 years. In total, 145 patients received rtPA, and 67 patients received urokinase. Patients were divided into a high hs-CRP group (> 1.60 mg/L) and a low hs-CRP group (≤ 1.60 mg/L) according to the median hs-CRP level (1.60 mg/L). The ΔNIHSS of the high hs-CRP group was significantly smaller than that of the low hs-CRP group (0 [-1 ~ 0] vs. -1 [-2 ~ 0], P 1.60 mg/L was negatively correlated with a good thrombolysis response rate (OR = 0.496, 95% CI = 0.266–0.927, P = 0.028). Conclusion hs-CRP > 1.6 mg/L may serve as a poor prognosis predictive factor for patients with AIS receiving intravenous thrombolysis. However, due to the small sample size of this study, further studies are needed to verify our results.

To investigate the predictive role of the neutrophil-platelet ratio (NPR) before intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) on hemorrhagic transformation (HT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). AIS patients treated with IVT without endovascular therapy between June 2019 and February 2023 were included. Patients were divided into high NPR (>35) and low NPR (≤35) groups according to the optimal threshold NPR value for identifying high-risk patients before IVT. The baseline data and the incidence of HT and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) were compared between the two groups. The predictive role of the NPR and other related factors on HT after IVT was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression. A total of 247 patients were included, with an average age of 67.5 ± 12.4 years. Post-thrombolytic HT was observed in 18.6% of the patients, and post-thrombolytic sICH was observed in 1.2% of the patients. There were 69 patients in the high NPR group and 178 patients in the low NPR group. The incidence of HT in the high NPR group was significantly higher than that in the low NPR group (30.4% vs 16.3%, P 35 was positively correlated with HT (odds ratio (OR) = 3.236, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.481-7.068, P = .003) and sICH (OR = 13.644, 95% CI: 2.392-77.833, P = .003). A high NPR (>35) before IVT may be a predictor of HT in AIS patients. This finding may help clinicians make clinical decisions before IVT in AIS patients.

Abstract Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) might affect endometrial receptivity, exerting integral roles in embryo implantation. This study explored the action of hCG in endometrial receptivity via the miR‐126‐3p/PIK3R2/PI3K/Akt/eNOS axis. The embryo implantation dysfunction (EID) mouse models were established by administrating mifepristone and human endometrial epithelial cells (EECs) were used for in vivo experiments, both followed by hCG treatment. Expression level of CD105 and protein levels of cadherin CD144 and CD146 in mice were determined by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. The levels of miR‐126‐3p and PIK3R2 mRNA and PIK3R2, p‐PI3K p85 α, PI3K p110 α, p‐Akt, Akt, p‐eNOS, and eNOS protein levels were measured. Cell proliferation was evaluated by CCK‐8 and EdU assays. The binding sites of miR‐126‐3p and PIK3R2 were predicted and verified. hCG‐treated EECs were further transfected with miR‐126‐inhibitor for functional rescue experiments. hCG ameliorated endometrial receptivity in EID mice. Moreover, hCG promoted miR‐126‐3p and suppressed PIK3R2 in EID mice and EECs. miR‐126‐3p targeted PIK3R2. EEC proliferation was enhanced after hCG treatment but inhibited by miR‐126‐3p downregulation. Both in vivo and in vitro experiments validated that hCG activated the PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway through the miR‐126‐3p/PIK3R2 axis. Collectively, hCG improves endometrial receptivity by activating the PI3K/Akt/eNOS pathway via regulating miR‐126‐3p/PIK3R2.

Tularaemia is a zoonotic disease caused by Francisella tularensis (F. tularensis). Human infection is rare and can be life-threatening. F. tularensis subsp. novicida used to be a subspecies of F. tularensis, is now considered a different species, F. novicida. Though less virulent, F. novicida can cause morbidity and mortality among debilitated or immunocompromised patients. We reported that an adult with end-stage renal disease undergoing haemodialysis and a history of melioidotic aortic aneurysm developed F. novicida bacteraemic pneumonia, which was uneventfully treated by antimicrobial therapy. The microbiological confirmation of F. novicida infection relies on 16S rRNA sequencing. It is the first case of F. novicida infection in Taiwan.

Abstract Background To understand the gene expression networks controlling flower color formation in alfalfa, flowers anthocyanins were identified using two materials with contrasting flower colors, namely Defu and Zhongtian No. 3, and transcriptome analyses of PacBio full-length sequencing combined with RNA sequencing were performed, across four flower developmental stages. Results Malvidin and petunidin glycoside derivatives were the major anthocyanins in the flowers of Defu, which were lacking in the flowers of Zhongtian No. 3. The two transcriptomic datasets provided a comprehensive and systems-level view on the dynamic gene expression networks underpinning alfalfa flower color formation. By weighted gene coexpression network analyses, we identified candidate genes and hub genes from the modules closely related to floral developmental stages. PAL, 4CL, CHS, CHR, F3’H, DFR, and UFGT were enriched in the important modules. Additionally, PAL6, PAL9, 4CL18, CHS2, 4 and 8 were identified as hub genes. Thus, a hypothesis explaining the lack of purple color in the flower of Zhongtian No. 3 was proposed. Conclusions These analyses identified a large number of potential key regulators controlling flower color pigmentation, thereby providing new insights into the molecular networks underlying alfalfa flower development.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is a devastating swine infectious disease. Development of high-performance methods to diagnose and evaluate viral immune status remains very important to control PEDV. Here, a recombinant S1 protein-based indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (rpS1-iELISA) was developed to monitor IgA antibody in the colostrum. Optimized cut-off value of the rpS1-iELISA was determined as 0.448. Results yielded a sensitivity of 96.87% and a specificity of 100.0%. Repeatability tests indicated that the coefficients of variation of the colostrum samples within and between runs were both less than 8%. Test results of 523 field colostrum samples showed that the rpS1-iELISA had excellent agreement with immunofluorescence assay (kappa = 0.958) and better test performance than a commercial ELISA kit. This test will aid in future diagnostics and assessment of the protective levels of mucosal immune response against PEDV by measuring IgA levels in the colostrum.

Background/purpose: Legionella pneumophila had been recognized as a pathogen for both healthcare-associated and community-acquired pneumonia. We aimed to evaluate clinical features and outcomes of patients with Legionnaires' disease at a tertiary medical center in southern Taiwan. Methods: From January 2005 to December 2013, a retrospective study of adult cases of Legionnaires' disease was conducted in a 1200-bed tertiary hospital. Their medical records were reviewed for further evaluation and analysis. Results: A total of 61 cases of Legionnaires' disease were identified during the study period. Their mean age was 61.1 years, with male predominance (43, 70.5%). Among them, 30 (49.2%) had healthcare-associated pneumonia (HCAP), 20 (32.8%) had community-acquired pneumonia, and notably 11 (18.0%) were caregivers. Patients with healthcare-associated pneumonia tend to have higher Charlson comorbidity scores than those with community-acquired pneumonia (3.6 ± 2.4 vs. 1.9 ± 1.9, p = 0.008) and caregivers (0.5 ± 0.5, p

Background: The worsening of semen quality, due to the application of Wi-Fi, can be ameliorated by Vitamin E. This study aimed to demonstrate whether a moderate dose of trolox, a new Vitamin E, inhibits oxidative damage on sperms in vitro after exposure to Wi-Fi radiation. Methods: Each of the twenty qualified semen, gathered from June to October 2014 in eugenics clinic, was separated into four aliquots, including sham, Wi-Fi-exposed, Wi-Fi plus 5 mmol/L trolox, and Wi-Fi plus 10 mmol/L trolox groups. At 0 min, all baseline parameters of the 20 samples were measured in sequence. Reactive oxygen species, glutathione, and superoxide dismutase were evaluated in the four aliquots at 45 and 90 min, as were sperm DNA fragments, sperm mitochondrial potential, relative amplification of sperm mitochondrial DNA, sperm vitality, and progressive and immotility sperm. The parameters were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's posttest. Other parameters were not affected, while the sham group maintained the baseline. Conclusion: This study found that 5 mmol/L trolox protected the Wi-Fi-exposed semen in vitro from the damage of electromagnetic radiation-induced oxidative stress.

Winter chill is essential for the growth and development of deciduous species. To understand the relationship between accumulated chilling hours during endodormancy and blooming and fruit shape development, we controlled chilling hours and investigated their effects on blooming date and fruit shape of peaches. The results showed that the number of days to full bloom date and the heat requirement for blooming were negatively correlated with accumulated chilling hours. Accumulated chilling hours were significantly negatively correlated with fruit shape index and fruit tip lengths, suggesting that the number of chilling hours affect the fruit shape development. Fewer accumulated chilling hours may be the major reason for longer fruit shape and protruding fruit tips. In conclusion, our results indicate specifically that decreased winter chilling hours can delay the bloom date and may lead to aberrant fruit shape development in peaches. Our study provides preliminary insights into the response of temperate fruit species to global climate change.

For the accurate assessment of physical impairments,the suppression or enhancement effect of self phase modulation (SPM) on group velocity dispersion(GVD) were analyzed.Then,a pulse width model based on their combined effects on signal distortion was proposed.This model considered the effects of combined physical impairments,and it was applied in the simulation of the impairment-aware routing and wavelength assignment(IA-RWA) algorithm.The results indicate that comprehensive consideration of the effects caused by combined physical impairments is conductive to accurately avoid more serious physical impairments during routing and reduces blocking rate.

Peach was domesticated in China more than four millennia ago and from there it spread world-wide. Since the middle of the last century, peach breeding programs have been very dynamic generating hundreds of new commercial varieties, however, in most cases such varieties derive from a limited collection of parental lines (founders). This is one reason for the observed low levels of variability of the commercial gene pool, implying that knowledge of the extent and distribution of genetic variability in peach is critical to allow the choice of adequate parents to confer enhanced productivity, adaptation and quality to improved varieties. With this aim we genotyped 1,580 peach accessions (including a few closely related Prunus species) maintained and phenotyped in five germplasm collections (four European and one Chinese) with the International Peach SNP Consortium 9K SNP peach array. The study of population structure revealed the subdivision of the panel in three main populations, one mainly made up of Occidental varieties from breeding programs (POP1OCB), one of Occidental landraces (POP2OCT) and the third of Oriental accessions (POP3OR). Analysis of linkage disequilibrium (LD) identified differential patterns of genome-wide LD blocks in each of the populations. Phenotypic data for seven monogenic traits were integrated in a genome-wide association study (GWAS). The significantly associated SNPs were always in the regions predicted by linkage analysis, forming haplotypes of markers. These diagnostic haplotypes could be used for marker-assisted selection (MAS) in modern breeding programs.

From July through September 2005, shortly after a typhoon, 40 cases of Burkholderia pseudomallei infection (melioidosis) were identified in southern Taiwan. Two genotypes that had been present in 2000 were identified by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. Such a case cluster confirms that melioidosis is endemic to Taiwan.
