In response to the urgent demand for grid stability and the complex challenges posed by renewable energy integration and electricity market dynamics, the power sector increasingly seeks innovative technological solutions. In this context, large language models (LLMs) have become a key technology to improve efficiency and promote intelligent progress in the power sector with their excellent natural language processing, logical reasoning, and generalization capabilities. Despite their potential, the absence of a performance evaluation benchmark for LLM in the power sector has limited the effective application of these technologies. Addressing this gap, our study introduces "ElecBench", an evaluation benchmark of LLMs within the power sector. ElecBench aims to overcome the shortcomings of existing evaluation benchmarks by providing comprehensive coverage of sector-specific scenarios, deepening the testing of professional knowledge, and enhancing decision-making precision. The framework categorizes scenarios into general knowledge and professional business, further divided into six core performance metrics: factuality, logicality, stability, security, fairness, and expressiveness, and is subdivided into 24 sub-metrics, offering profound insights into the capabilities and limitations of LLM applications in the power sector. To ensure transparency, we have made the complete test set public, evaluating the performance of eight LLMs across various scenarios and metrics. ElecBench aspires to serve as the standard benchmark for LLM applications in the power sector, supporting continuous updates of scenarios, metrics, and models to drive technological progress and application.

With extensive pre-trained knowledge and high-level general capabilities, large language models (LLMs) emerge as a promising avenue to augment reinforcement learning (RL) in aspects such as multi-task learning, sample efficiency, and high-level task planning. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive review of the existing literature in LLM-enhanced RL and summarize its characteristics compared to conventional RL methods, aiming to clarify the research scope and directions for future studies. Utilizing the classical agent-environment interaction paradigm, we propose a structured taxonomy to systematically categorize LLMs' functionalities in RL, including four roles: information processor, reward designer, decision-maker, and generator. For each role, we summarize the methodologies, analyze the specific RL challenges that are mitigated, and provide insights into future directions. Lastly, a comparative analysis of each role, potential applications, prospective opportunities, and challenges of the LLM-enhanced RL are discussed. Fast and reliable transmission network reconfiguration is critical in improving power grid resilience to cyber-attacks. If the network reconfiguration following cyber-attacks is imperfect, secondary incidents may delay or interrupt post-attack restoration of the power grid. This paper proposes a framework of resilient transmission network reconfiguration, taking into account the impacts of cyber-attacks in the network reconfiguration process. First, the mechanism of cyber-attack propagation is analyzed based on the characteristics of network reconfiguration. Second, systematic resilience indices are specially extracted in which the impact of cyber-attacks on network reconfiguration is quantified. These indices are defined in terms of the restoration characteristics of the transmission power system. Third, representative cyber-attack incidents motivate an optimization-based model of resilient transmission network reconfiguration, and an optimal reconstruction scheme is obtained. Finally, simulation results based on the IEEE 39-bus system verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed framework in enhancing power grid resilience to cyber-attacks.

Modern society's reliance on power systems is at risk from the escalating effects of wind-related climate change. Yet, failure to identify the intricate relationship between wind-related climate risks and power systems could lead to serious short- and long-term issues, including partial or complete blackouts. Here, we develop a comprehensive framework to assess China's power system resilience across various climate change scenarios, enabling a holistic evaluation of the repercussions induced by wind-related climate change. Our findings indicate that China's current wind projects and planning strategies could be jeopardized by wind-related climate change, with up to a 12\% decline in regional wind power availability. Moreover, our results underscore a pronounced vulnerability of power system resilience amidst the rigors of hastened climate change, unveiling a potential amplification of resilience deterioration, even approaching fourfold by 2060 under the most severe scenario, relative to the 2020 benchmark. Applying large language models (LLMs) to modern power systems presents a promising avenue for enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency. However, this action may also incur potential security threats, which have not been fully recognized so far. To this end, this article analyzes potential threats incurred by applying LLMs to power systems, emphasizing the need for urgent research and development of countermeasures.

In this paper, we present the problem formulation and methodology framework of Super-Resolution Perception (SRP) on industrial sensor data. Industrial intelligence relies on high-quality industrial sensor data for system control, diagnosis, fault detection, identification, and monitoring. However, the provision of high-quality data may be expensive in some cases. In this paper, we propose a novel machine learning problem -- the SRP problem as reconstructing high-quality data from unsatisfactory sensor data in industrial systems. Advanced generative models are then proposed to solve the SRP problem. This technology makes it possible to empower existing industrial facilities without upgrading existing sensors or deploying additional sensors. We first mathematically formulate the SRP problem under the Maximum a Posteriori (MAP) estimation framework. A case study is then presented, which performs SRP on smart meter data. A network, namely SRPNet, is proposed to generate high-frequency load data from low-frequency data. We further employ a novel recognition-based loss and relativistic adversarial loss to constraint the reconstruction of waveforms explicitly. Experiments demonstrate that our SRP model can reconstruct high-frequency data effectively. Moreover, the reconstructed high-frequency data can lead to better appliance monitoring results without changing the monitoring appliances.
