ObjectiveTo investigate the psychometric features of MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery （MCCB） in adolescents with bipolar disorder， so as to evaluate its appropriateness for the measurement of cognitive deficits in adolescents with bipolar disorder.MethodsAdolescents with bipolar disorder （n=38）， adolescents with major depressive episode （n=40） and healthy controls （n=41） matched on age， sex and educational background were enrolled. Adolescents with bipolar disorder were assessed using Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale （MoCA） and MCCB at baseline and 2 weeks later， while the rest were only assessed using MCCB at baseline. Thereafter， the psychometric features of MCCB such as internal consistency， test-retest reliability and criterion-related validity， discriminant validity and structural validity were evaluated using Cronbach's α coefficient， Pearson correlation analysis， analysis of covariance and confirmatory factor analysis.Results①The Cronbach's α coefficient of MCCB in adolescents with bipolar disorder was 0.784 at baseline and 0.773 at two weeks later， respectively. ②Among adolescents with bipolar disorder， the test-retest reliability over a two-week interval of each dimension in MCCB ranged from 0.630 to 0.812 （P

Objective: The clinical management of catatonia has always been a focus of psychiatric nursing. Unfortunately, there is still limited research on the risk factors and nursing methods for patients with catatonia and bacterial pneumonia. Few studies have identified and analyzed the clinical risk factors for catatonia patients with bacterial pneumonia. This study aims to explore the risk factors and preventive nursing measures for pneumonia in patients with catatonia. Methods: A total of 88 patients with catatonia treated in the emergency department of a psychiatric hospital from January 2019 to October 2021 were selected. They were divided into bacterial pneumonia group (n=17) and non-pneumonia group (n=71) based on whether they had pneumonia. The demographic data and clinical characteristics of the two groups were compared. Logistic regression analysis and point-biserial correlation were used to analyze the risk factors for developing pneumonia in patients with catatonia. Results: The incidence of pneumonia in patients with catatonia was 19.32%. Correlation analysis showed that age (r=0.216, p=0.043), The Activities of Daily Living Scale (ADL) score (r=0.265, p=0.013), cell count of white blood (r=0.591, p<0.001), neutrophil count (r=0.599, p<0.001), percentage of neutrophils (r=0.311, p=0.003), C-reactive protein (r=0.558, p<0.001), bedridden days (r=0.470, p<0.001), and albumin level (r=-0.288, p=0.007) were significantly associated with pneumonia. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that smoking, bedridden days, family support, and nutritional status were risk factors for pneumonia in patients with catatonia. Conclusion: Reducing smoking and bedridden days, improving nutrition, and providing timely preventive nursing care by family members can reduce the occurrence of pneumonia in patients with catatonia. Background: In context of COVID-19 as a collective trauma and the intense involvement of healthcare workers (HCWs) in the pandemic, perceived stress continues to have a tremendous impact on their psychological well-being. However, few studies have attempted to delineate the underlying mechanisms. This study examined whether COVID-19-related traumatic stress symptoms and mentalization act as mediators. Methods: A sample of HCWs (N = 2610) from 22 hospitals in Beijing, China participated in this cross-sectional investigation. Data on their perceived stress, psychological well-being, the impact of event, and reflective function during the COVID-19 pandemic were collected using self-report questionnaires. Different mediating models were tested. Results: COVID-19-related stress symptoms and mentalization independently mediate the association between perceived stress and psychological well-being. These two mediators also compose a serial mediation model. In particular, higher perceived stress inhibits the psychological well-being of HCWs through increased severity of traumatic stress symptoms, which in turn is associated with hypomentalizing. Conclusion: These findings shed light on the mechanisms underlying the relationship between perceived stress and psychological well-being in HCWs. We strongly recommend incorporating a mentalization framework with trauma-informed practice in prevention and intervention work with this population during this and future healthcare crisis. Background: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a common debilitating disorder characterized by impaired spontaneous brain activity, yet little is known about its alterations in dynamic properties and the molecular mechanisms associated with these changes. Methods: Based on the resting-state functional MRI data of 65 first-episode, treatment-naïve patients with MDD and 66 healthy controls, we compared dynamic regional homogeneity (dReHo) of spontaneous brain activity between the two groups, and we investigated gene expression profiles associated with dReHo alterations in MDD by leveraging transcriptional data from the Allen Human Brain Atlas and weighted gene co-expression network analysis. Results: Compared with healthy controls, patients with MDD consistently showed reduced dReHo in both fusiform gyri and in the right temporal pole and hippocampus. The expression profiles of 16 gene modules were correlated with dReHo alterations in MDD. These gene modules were enriched for various biological process terms, including immune, synaptic signalling, ion channels, mitochondrial function and protein metabolism, and were preferentially expressed in different cell types. Conclusions: Patients with MDD have reduced dReHo in brain areas associated with emotional and cognitive regulation, and these changes may be related to complex polygenetic and polypathway mechanisms. This study aimed to identify profiles of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and to examine the association between emotion regulation profiles and depressive symptoms using a sample of healthcare workers under the impact of COVID-19. A total of 3477 Chinese healthcare workers participated in the online survey. Latent profile analysis was used to identify cognitive regulation patterns using nine strategies. Depressive symptoms were compared among cognitive regulation patterns. The results yielded three cognitive emotion regulation patterns: regulators with low controllability of emotions and events (RLCEE, 65.5%), regulators with high controllability of emotions and events (RHCEE, 33.0%) and high regulators (HR, 5.4%). The HRs reported the highest level of depression symptoms, followed by the RHCEEs and RLCEEs. The results illustrated a significant association between depressive symptoms and emotion regulation profiles in healthcare workers under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic., (© 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.)
