This submission is a reappraisal of emotional labor as it has been framed in LIS. The article gathered and characterized very recent LIS publications on emotional labor. Those publications imply expectations for administrative interventions: an emotional labor movement for librarians so to speak. Moreover, that shift has generated some distance from the meaning of emotional labor in research, more strongly linking the concept to expectations of self-care, whole-self-at-work, and compensation issues which don't have obvious operational applications when made specific to libraries. The management interventions would quickly become intrusive and/or erode privacy and liberties. This article presents the results of a survey of library and information professionals in positions of leadership regarding the skills and knowledge expected of MLS program graduates seeking employment in their organizations. The survey demonstrates that, as libraries and other information agencies continue to expand their role as a vital resource within a community, academic institution, or business, it is critical for prospective library employees to develop a balanced array of competencies that combines soft skills, such as adaptability, leadership potential and team orientation, as well as hard technical skills that have traditionally been important for daily library operations. Today, libraries are among the institutions affected by changing technology and innovations. The popularization of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has also begun to transform library services. In this research, a survey was conducted to determine the adjustments that university libraries in Turkey have made and plan to make during the development process of AI technologies and applications, and to identify the services they have developed specific to the relevant period. The survey was carried out with the participation of 111 university library managers from 208 university libraries in Turkey. Through the analysis of the data, the status, knowledge, and awareness levels of university libraries regarding AI technologies and applications were determined, and measures and recommendations were presented to improve deficiencies and weaknesses. This research is the first and most comprehensive study conducted in Turkey by obtaining opinions and suggestions from university library managers on artificial intelligence. The research findings revealed that university libraries use AI applications such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grammarly to a certain extent; however, they have needs in developing institutional policies, enhancing personnel competencies, and planning related to AI. The advancement of technology has changed the nature of information resources and the information needs and information retrieval behavior of users. Libraries need adequate financial resources to keep up with these changes and to meet the information needs of their users. Global and local economic developments, especially the rise in foreign exchange and inflation, force university library managers to use their budgets more effectively and efficiently. Effective budgeting planning and implementation in line with budget management will make it easier for the library to achieve its goals. This study examines how budget management is carried out in foundation university libraries in Ankara. Qualitative research method was used in the study and case study design was preferred to reveal the data. Within the scope of the research, data were collected by interview technique and the data obtained were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the research, it was determined that a user-oriented approach was adopted when preparing the library budget, that most of the budget was allocated to the provision of information resources, and that increase in foreign exchange and inflation had negative effects on the budget. Evaluating information quality within these applications becomes paramount to ensure student satisfaction, involving assessments of completeness, relevance, and other factors. To address this concern, the study employs the quality of information system (QIS) model, focusing on characteristics that enhance the value of information. An analysis, grounded in time, content, and form dimensions, offers a comprehensive and quantitative understanding of the current state of information quality in e-learning applications such as Brainly. Consequently, many students in various regions, particularly Madiun, expressed satisfaction with the time, content, and form of the information provided by Brainly, resulting in an information quality score of 81%. This study contributes to the dimensions of time and form within the Brainly application. Emphasizing these dimensions yields valuable insights into the application's advantages from the users' perspective and provides recommendations for enhancing the Brainly application's capacity to deliver timely information and offer a user-friendly experience. The author presents a first-hand account of a self-identified problem employee. She focuses on her role as a new manager in a large public library. She identifies problem behaviors and the negative attitudes behind them. She lists a number of causes for becoming a problem employee. She looks at the failures of her supervisor and the library system, including the lack of communication, clear direction, and concrete feedback. She examines the shortcomings of her library school management course in preparing her to lead. She identifies self-doubt as another culprit. She confesses that she did not see herself as management material and lacked role models. She acknowledges that her early academic success made her resistant to seek help or to modify her work behaviors. She explains how her role as a problem employee was allowed to persist for several years. Finally, the author shows how she changed from being a problem employee to a productive member of the library staff. This study presents a novel approach to enhance efficiency and precision in library management through the utilization of QR code technology. Integration of a mobile robot equipped with a QR code reader into the stocktake process, interfaced with the SliMS framework via an accessible API, lays the groundwork for an automated book inventory management system. This groundbreaking system enables the generation of dynamic QR code commands, facilitating seamless adjustments to bookshelf layouts. The autonomous and accurate movement of the mobile robot significantly reduces the time required for recording, allowing library staff to allocate more time to value-added tasks. The implementation of this method entailed configuring the mobile robot to navigate library aisles, scan QR codes on book spines, and transmit inventory data to the SliMS system in real time. Research findings indicate a notable decrease in inventory processing time, accompanied by an improvement in accuracy resulting from the eradication of manual data entry errors. Specifically, the calculated efficiency gain of approximately 66.81% highlights the substantial benefits of integrating the mobile robot scan QR code process compared to manual methods. In conclusion, the deployment of this automated book inventory management system, driven by QR code technology, marks a positive shift in library management practices, enhancing the efficiency of the book inventory process and overall operational effectiveness.

As the complexity of modern library management tasks increases, it is difficult for traditional mobile robots to meet the task of moving and classifying books. In order to design a mobile robot that can autonomously classify and transport books, the study realizes the tasks of book classification and transportation in libraries by fusing the differential speed algorithm and the robot motion model algorithm. First, the robot operating system is utilized to scan the books, classify the books, and obtain the category information of the books. Then, the differential speed algorithm is used to control the motion of the robot to ensure that the robot can accurately transport the books to the designated location. At the same time, combined with the robot motion model algorithm, the motion trajectory of the robot is planned to ensure that the robot can avoid obstacles and stably complete the book transportation task. Finally, the deep reinforcement learning algorithm is used to train the decision-making model of the robot to improve the intelligence level of the robot. The results of simulation experiments show that the research method has the highest accuracy, with an average accuracy of 99.98%, and the robot is able to accurately categorize the books and quickly avoid obstacles with strong stability. The results of the application experiments show that the research method has the shortest moving distance, with an average moving distance of 132 m and an average completion time of 34 seconds, which are lower than the remaining three types of robots. The research robot showed high accuracy in the task of returning books in four time periods within 10 days in the library, with an average accuracy of 99.58%. The experimental results validate the superiority of the research methodology and show that the robots are capable of accurately recognizing and classifying books and can autonomously perform transportation tasks in libraries. This paper introduces a Patron Counting and Analysis (PCA) system that leverages Wi-Fi-connection data to monitor space utilization and analyze visitor patterns in academic libraries. The PCA system offers real-time crowding information to the public and a comprehensive visitor analysis dashboard for library administrators. The system's development was driven by the need for occupancy restrictions during the pandemic, ensuring a spacious environment for library visitors as well as balancing between efficient utilization and adhering to social distancing regulations. Traditional methods of patron behavior performance and library spatial analysis, such as manual head counting or card-swiping systems, often incur additional costs for labor, hardware installation, or software subscription. The PCA system, however, utilizes existing Wi-Fi-connection data, providing a cost-effective solution to represent patron demographics and spatial usage. Limitations may arise when patrons do not carry Wi-Fi-enabled devices or during periods of low Wi-Fi service functionality. Implemented in Node.js and integrated with Python Flask framework and related libraries, the PCA system was piloted at the King Library in Miami University, successfully demonstrating a high validity compared to manually collected data. It filters out noise and redundancy, visualizes the occupancy index meter in real time, and generates statistical reports by linking user IDs with demographic information. The PCA system's reliability was validated through manually head counting data collected at the King Library in Miami University, establishing it as a reliable tool for library space management and patron analysis. Digital leadership is emerging as a key driver of innovative work behaviors, enabling libraries to enhance services, accessibility, and user experiences. This study explores the impact of digital leadership to accelerate innovative work behaviors inspiring libraries to improve services and accessibility for better user experiences. The study explores the correlation between digital leadership and advanced practices in libraries by collecting data from 290 library managers and department heads in higher education institutions across Pakistan. Path analysis via AMOS and statistical evaluation with SPSS was used for this study. Leaders' digital competencies, paired with AI-powered tools and technology, play an important role in improving library services through creative and innovative initiatives. By investigating how digital transformation and innovation change leadership styles, this study adds to the expanding conversation on library leadership. It gives useful information to the libraries of Pakistan to adjust to the changing digital environment.

A review of library social responsibility is presented in this study to offer an understanding of the future direction of library social responsibility, and to bridge the knowledge gap regarding research patterns and trends in social responsibility of libraries. The purpose of this review was to provide a systematic review of social responsibility in libraries adopted between 2010 and 2021. Searches were conducted on databases in English and Arabic. An analysis of the papers revealed four themes of library social responsibility: workplace and employees, stakeholders, environment, and community. Themes had different levels of attention. The results of this study may contribute to future research. Further highlighting the gaps in the literature could be valuable for future research. The exponential growth of digital content in libraries poses significant challenges for users searching for relevant resources. This paper presents a collaborative filtering (CF)-based recommendation system designed to provide personalized recommendations for books, journals, and articles in digital library environments. The system leverages user-based and item-based CF models, enhanced by a hybrid approach that combines CF with contentbased filtering (CBF) to address challenges like data sparsity and cold-start issues. Using a dataset of library interactions, the hybrid model demonstrates superior performance with an accuracy of 88% precision and a diverse catalog coverage of 92%, significantly improving user satisfaction and engagement. The impact of library information technologies on role conflict and professional commitment amongst librarians in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India is analysed in this paper. Due to the integration of liberal technology in schools, librarians feel the differences in the level of work challenges and options. The aim of the study is to ascertain the level of role conflict occasioned by these technologies, as well as the level of professional commitment. One hundred and nine librarians from public, academic, and special libraries completed a quantitative survey as part of the mixed method approach, while twenty respondents were interviewed in-depth. In the survey, it has been identified that 60% of people have high to very high experiences of role conflict due to the significant increase in the role of librarians brought by LIT. Organizational professional commitment was harmed by this kind of role conflict; indeed, it accounted for 40% of the variability observed in commitment levels. Still, more formal training in LIT was caused by lower role conflict and higher professional commitment among librarians. Based on these findings it can be argued that well defined professional development programmes can reduce the effects of technological advancement on libraries. The paper adds to the existing body of knowledge on roles of librarians in the context of the digital environment and provides suggestions on minimising the levels of role conflict as well as promoting professional commitment. The objectives of the study are: To find out the availability of sources and services in the libraries of Nimar region, to know the frequency of visit of users to the library, to find out the satisfaction of users with library resources and services, & to find out the problems faced by the users while accessing the sources and services. Sample of 300 users were selected from total users four Govt. college libraries of Nimor region. Data was collected from the users using the questionnaire. Analysis of data shows that the highest number of books (93620) are available in the library of SBNGPGC. Over a third of users thirty five percent are visiting the library daily. This case study explores the Arabic cataloguing procedures at the Jabatan Kehakiman Syariah Malaysia Library (JKSM) and the challenges faced in organising Islamic legal resources. The study addresses key issues such as the adaptation of international cataloguing standards, inconsistencies in transliteration practices, and the lack of standardised subject headings for Arabic legal materials. Using a qualitative approach, the research gathers insights from library staff through a group interview, focusing on their experience with cataloguing procedures and the complexities of managing Arabic resources. The findings highlight significant obstacles, including transliteration inconsistencies, difficulties in Arabic input, and challenges in information retrieval. Moreover, the study underscores the need for localised classification systems like the IIUM Library Classification System for Knowledge Resources on Islam (ICSI) to better represent Islamic legal texts. The research concludes with recommendations for a phased integration of ICSI, staff training, pilot reclassification projects, and collaboration with other Islamic law libraries. This study investigates online database usage patterns at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Negeri Sembilan through a data mining approach, specifically utilizing association rule mining and the Apriori algorithm. The primary objective is to analyze user behavior in accessing 23 subscribed online databases, aiming to uncover correlations between academic programs and database access patterns. Findings reveal significant associations among databases, indicating that certain programs are more likely to access specific databases together. For instance, students enrolled in Library Management and Food Technology programs frequently accessed both Emerald Insight and ScienceDirect. The study highlights a concerning trend of decreased database usage despite rising subscription costs, emphasizing the need for improved user engagement strategies. By profiling users based on their database access, the library can tailor its services to better meet the needs of its community, ultimately enhancing the academic experience. Technology has revolutionized many walks of life from business to governance, learning to workplaces. This research aimed to examine students' perceptions towards the digital library services at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. A survey of 176 engineering post-grads was used to accomplish this. Random sampling technique was used. Primary data collected through structured questionnaires. The research showed that respondents are aware of and use digital collections. The report examined students' views on internet libraries and digital collections. The survey also examined students' perceptions of digital library pros and cons. The digital library system's applicability was also examined, with a focus on the prototype model's course material presentation. The study showed that digital libraries can improve student learning. Studying student perspectives helps determine the efficacy and relevance of digital library services in academic settings. Traditionally, librarians have been limited to a physical facility either because their role demanded face-to-face interaction or because they had their work materials housed in the building. With the work of libraries and librarians increasingly becoming more mobile, a lot of work can conveniently be done from a laptop at any location. This study assessed the points of view of academic librarians in Ghana on telecommuting and its feasibility in the Ghanaian landscape. It employed an exploratory case study design to sample a total of 57 respondents through the administration of a questionnaire. The findings reveal that the academic librarians were in favour of telecommuting and were willing to telecommute at least once a week. Additionally, there was the improved benefit of having flexible working hours and reduced travel time. This research explores the influence of humble leadership on knowledge sharing and adaptability in Iranian public libraries, with a focus on ethnic diversity. Using a quantitative approach and correlational studies, the study examined public library staff from various ethnic backgrounds in Iran, employing random cluster sampling. The results indicate that humble leadership positively affected both the willingness to adapt and knowledge sharing among library staff. Moreover, an analysis using the Kruskal–Wallis test revealed that one aspect of humble leadership – 'Acknowledgement of personal limitations' – had only a weak connection to ethnicity. Interestingly, Iranian Arab ethnicities expressed less preference for humble leadership yet knowledge sharing and adaptability improved among employees from all ethnic backgrounds. This research breaks new ground by simultaneously investigating various variables, including ethnicity, in relation to humble leadership. The findings have significant implications for public library management, highlighting the importance of effective communication and empathy in reducing employee resistance to knowledge sharing and organizational change. Bibliotheken bieten zunehmend neue Dienstleistungen und Produkte an, um den sich wandelnden Bedürfnissen ihrer Nutzer*innen gerecht zu werden. In privatwirtschaftlichen Unternehmen hat sich zum Management einer Vielzahl von Produkten und Dienstleistungen das strategische Mittel des Produktportfolio-Managements durchgesetzt. In Bibliotheken ist dieser Ansatz der Steuerung weitaus seltener anzutreffen. Dies ist keineswegs darauf zurückzuführen, dass Bibliotheken administrative und keine gewinnorientierten Einrichtungen sind. Ganz im Gegenteil: mit wenigen Anpassungen am Grundmodell eines Produktportfolios kann sich das Tool auch in Bibliotheken als vielversprechendes Mittel zur strategischen Verwaltung erweisen.Dieser Artikel erläutert, wie die Erarbeitung und Einführung eines gemeinsamen Produktportfolios an der Universitätsbibliothek und der Zentralbibliothek Zürich den Pfad für eine produktorientierte, und damit dienstleistungs- und kundenorientierte, strategische Zusammenarbeit geebnet haben. Der Beitrag bietet einen Einblick in den Prozess der Entwicklung und den Einsatz des Produktportfolios: wie es zu Stande kam, wie es Konsequenzen von Entscheidungen kalkulierbar machte und wie damit Produkte entlang der Strategie weiterentwickelt werden konnten.Es soll gezeigt werden, wie durch die Anwendung von Methoden aus der Betriebswirtschaft auf den Bibliotheksbereich neue Wege im Management von Bibliotheken beschritten werden können. Libraries are increasingly offering new services and products to meet the changing needs of their users. In private enterprises, the strategic tool of product portfolio management has become established for managing a variety of products and services. In libraries, this approach to management is far less common. This is by no means due to the fact that libraries are administrative and non-profit organizations. On the contrary, with a few adjustments to the basic model of a product portfolio, the tool can also prove to be a promising means of strategic management in libraries.This article explains how the development and introduction of a joint product portfolio at the University Library and the Central Library of Zurich paved the way for a product-oriented, and therefore service- and customer-oriented, strategic collaboration. The article provides an insight into the process of developing and deploying the product portfolio: how it came about, how it made the consequences of decisions calculable, and how products could be further developed along the strategy.It aims to show how the application of methods from business administration to the library sector can open up new avenues in library management. The implementation of a product portfolio can help modern libraries strengthen their position in society and position themselves as forward-looking, dynamic institutions.

This study aimed to investigate students’ awareness and perception toward the execution of Internet of Things (IoT) in library services of Indian Institute Technologies (IITs) of Northern India. This study consists of a quantitative research design in which a survey was conducted utilizing a stratified random sampling technique to survey 813 students from five IITs. A total of 780 correctly filled-out surveys were received, yielding a response rate of 95.94%. Statistical tools, including Microsoft Excel and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, were used to analyze the data. To assess the significance of the results at the 0.05% level, statistical analysis was carried out utilizing percentages and analysis of variance. This study will communicate the attitude, awareness, and perception of students regarding the implementation of IoT in libraries of IITs. It is conducted to understand the motive behind new technology acceptance in academic libraries. The findings reveal that most of the students got familiar with IoT from browsing on the Web/Internet, social networking sites, research projects, conferences, workshops, webinars and faculty development programs, professional discussions, and meetings, as part of the curriculum. Respondents were in favor of implementing IoT in library services. They believed that IoT will ensure better and more efficient utilization of library resources, followed by real-time information accessibility, recommend IoT-based library services, system content quality will be updated, and will increase the quality of the library; the efficiency of library services will increase with implementation of IoT. It will increase the productivity of library services, be useful in an emergency, and promote information literacy. The study’s findings would be beneficial to libraries and academic institutions interested in implementing IoT applications in their libraries.

Ozan Varol's book, Think Like a Rock Scientist, contends that you can "make giant leaps in work and life" by following his guidance. The rocket scientist, however, has a much easier task than a library manager because rockets follow the laws of gravity while managers must deal with the messy problems of irrational humans. Effective communication is difficult to achieve. Cognitive dissonance and subconscious behavior inhibit rational behavior. Management must account for cultural differences and the fact that culture changes continuously unlike gravity. Success of a rocket launch is easy to measure while creating a yardstick for the evaluation of a library and applying it correctly is difficult. The advantage the library manager has is that muddling through with partial success is an option that rocket scientists don't have. This study seeks to understand the impact of initial library responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States through December of 2020. Survey responses reflect the impact that decisions and communication styles had on workers within library organizations. This article discusses respondents' overall satisfaction with communication from their libraries, their sense of equity in application of work-related measures, and impacts to their wellbeing at work. Structural changes in library leadership and services impact how librarians experience their work. When faced with externally imposed change, our public services team did more than adapt and navigate. We partnered management with organizational development to build a more inclusive team through shared visioning. Recognizing that everyone’s experience of change is unique, we employed a variety of tools and techniques to discover factors underlying motivation and resistance. We will share how we built our leadership skills to move a large team through change while respecting the identities, professional values, and experiences of each individual in the team.

This research aims to learn about library management towards electronics digitalization in MAN Lampung which covers aspects of planning, organization, implementation, and supervision. It also aims to understand the obstacles that arise in the process of library management in the MAN Province of Lampung, and to know the efforts made to overcome the obstacle that arises in the management of libraries towards e-digitalization in MAN Lampung. The approach used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of the study are the head of the madrasah, library officers, teachers, and students. The results of the research, that the management of the library of MAN Lampung did, includes: (1) planning for the procurement of books every year. (2) organization of the library of MAN Lampung I is in the Wakamad humans, MAN Lampung II is under the Wakamad curriculum, and Man Lampung III is under the head of the madrasah (3) implementation includes the provision, processing, service, and construction (4) supervision was carried out by the head of the Madrasah. The obstacles were related to a lack of library facilities and student lacking reading interest. Efforts are being made to add to the reading space and to give students a duty in the library. Prison library staff play a central role in supporting prisoners with their educational, informational, recreational and cultural needs during incarceration. Their role is unique within the wider library profession, as they require both expertise in library and information management as well as the skills and knowledge required to operate in a prison environment. There has been little research exploring the experiences and perspectives of library staff who manage and deliver prison library services in the United Kingdom (UK). This paper addresses this gap in knowledge and seeks to amplify the voices of those working in an often overlooked profession. Findings are drawn from the first phase of a broader doctoral study which explored prisoner engagement with library services. A mixed-methods approach was taken, combining both a questionnaire and follow-up interviews with prison library staff across the UK. The questionnaire received 31 responses from library staff and 10 respondents participated in a follow-up interview. Findings offer a contemporary overview of the management and delivery of prison library services in the UK and underline common themes and concerns among prison library professionals, namely the implications of dual management, the impact of the unique social context in which they work and the importance of communication and liaison in providing effective library services. The paper concludes with recommendations for combatting the professional isolation felt by those working in this sector and for the promotion of prison library services both within and outside the prison. This research aims to describe the implementation of School Library Management in Fostering a Culture of Literacy of Students of SMA Hang Tuah 2 and SMA Hang Tuah 5 Sidoarjo. This is multi-site study and method used in this research is qualitative, by describing and describing the implementation of school library management that has been implemented in SMA Hang Tuah 2 and SMA Hang Tuah 5 which includes planning, organization, implementation, and supervision. In obtaining the results of research and data, researches use interview and observation techniques. Then the data is analyzed in such a way, so that it becomes a qualitative research. The discussion and description of the data it has been done, this research concluded that the management carried out in the school library of SMA Hang Tuah 2 and SMA Hang Tuah 5 Sidoarjo has carried out the planning, organization, implementation, supervision, and evaluation process carried out by the principal, educators, and librarians. Thus, the School Literacy Movement program will be carried out and the process of fostering the literacy culture of students of SMA Hang Tuah 2 and SMA Hang Tuah 5 Sidoarjo begins to run as expected

This community service activity aims to develop and improve library management using the 5S method and computerised system of books inventory to increase community literacy in Buluh Cina Village, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The optimal and efficient library, such as book collections, library users, facilities, infrastructure, and library management, can be appropriately managed based on the 5S method and book inventory-based computerisation. The 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seito, Seiketsu and Shitsuke) was adopted to organise library rooms by arranging bookshelves, catalogue cabinets, reading tables, and other equipment. By applying the 5S method, a more optimal inventory management system and book borrowing were obtained easily. The existence of this system makes it easier for officers to put back the books that have been read in their original place. Replacing books can be done quickly; the librarian only needs to input the book code, book data and shelf locations for storage displayed. The book was inventory-based computerised, which made it more accessible to detect the number of collections, the presence of books on storage shelves, a monitoring system for book borrowers, and additional collections. Therefore, the management and services of the library are optimal and lead to the visitors' satisfaction.

Introduction: Resource Description and Access (RDA) are guidelines that guide the creation of metadata for information resources available in libraries' online catalogs. It is understood that developing strategies to manage the implementation of the RDA facilitates the process and motivates the library community to adopt the new standard. Objectives: present the relevant aspects that can contribute to the management of RDA implementation in libraries. Methodolog: Bibliographic research with a qualitative approach, using the Portal Capes databases, Scopus Elsevier, Brapci, BDTD, OasisBr and used content analysis as a technique Bardin (2011). Result: presentation of aspects considered relevant in categories: (1) Human and financial resources; (2) RDA Toolkit; (3) RDA training; (4) Cataloging procedures: decisions, policies and documentation; (5) Preparation of library management system; (6) Technological supports and tools. Conclusion: The implementation of RDA in libraries involves innovations, opportunities and challenges. The library innovates by aligning itself with the contemporary practices of other libraries, facilitating data exchange during cataloging, preparing it for a future with linked data. It is considered an opportunity to train professionals in cataloging, improve services, such as updating documentation and strengthening authority control. Challenges include implementation costs, the need to translate the RDA Toolkit, the effective development of staff training and cataloging policies; and the preparation of the library management system. Academic Digital Library is a web-based system that provides access to various academic information and services. This article aims to investigate UiTM Digital Library's efficiency in meeting post-graduate students' needs by correlating their satisfaction with the following predictors: technological and individual factors, digital library engagement, and perceived benefits. The questionnaire was developed based on the instruments used by previous researchers. An online questionnaire was distributed to UiTM Selangor post-graduates, obtaining a sample of 341 respondents. The results of this study indicate that postgraduate students were aware of digital reference services offered by an academic library. The finding also revealed the level of usage and satisfaction regarding digital reference services. The result of this study will enable library management to recognize the usage of digital reference services among students. The existence of academic classes at the Integrity School of Correctional Center indirectly encourages juvenile delinquents to use the prison library to obtain information related to their studies. The importance of the prison library, to meet the information needs of prison inmates (including the juvenile delinquents), providing materials for inmates' studies and indirectly supporting the rehabilitation process of prison inmates. The awareness in helping the rehabilitation process of juvenile delinquents through exposure to the use of reading material as a rehabilitation tool; has encouraged the Tun Seri Lanang Library (PTSL), UKM to run a community service program at the Prison Library of Integrity School. PTSL UKM has sought advice from UiTM regarding collections and services in the prison library in order to produce a prison library model that can meet the needs of juvenile delinquents. As a result, a prison library model has been created by providing a bibliotherapy corner, improving the collection based on the needs of juvenile delinquents and brightening the prison library with colors that indirectly help in the rehabilitation process of juvenile delinquents in Malaysia. Purpose: This research aims to find out in depth about library management carried out, as well as prisoners' responses to the presence of libraries in increasing their interest in reading. This research uses special library management theory from Luther Gulick and is strengthened by an explanation of library management from Lasa H.S. Findings: the results of this research found that management in the Yogyakarta class IIA correctional institution library is not yet structured, because the library does not yet have written management guidelines, but several components in library management have been carried out well, including staffing, coordination, reporting and budget components. The directing component is running quite well, while the planning and organizing component is not running well. Despite this, prisoners responded positively to the existence of the library in increasing their interest in reading, but they regretted that the collection of reading books was limited and took too long, so that they became bored with borrowing books from the library. Conclusion: Based on this, the researcher provides recommendations to the person in charge of the library to create structured management, so that the implementation of activities in the library will run in accordance with the library's objectives. This study delves into the strategic issues faced by public libraries in South Korea spanning the period from 2003 to 2022. An extensive examination of 176 strategic planning documents from 17 local governments resulted in the selection and analysis of 75 documents using a strategic planning analysis model. The findings reveal that issues such as staff/training, collaboration/networks, information literacy, digital libraries, physical space, and collection emerged as major concerns in the strategic planning of public libraries in Korea. An analysis of the top issues' distribution over fiveyear intervals showed that staff/training issues consistently held a high rank over the 20-year period, underscoring their enduring strategic importance. Conversely, collection-related issues started with a low rank between 2003 and 2007 but consistently rose in significance from 2008 to 2022, becoming crucial strategic considerations for public libraries. Notably, these trends align closely with the direction set by the Comprehensive Library Advancement Plan at the national level for each period. his paper aims to explore and understand the factors that affects the implementation of Digital Libraries of Malay Manuscript in libraries. It discusses the issues related to the risk management of digital resources in Malaysian documentary heritage institutions. The study employed a descriptive-qualitative approach to explore how the DLMM is operated in five selected information institutions in Malaysia. Three types of data collection techniques were used: interviews, observation, and document analysis. Fourteen informants were interviewed likely using a semi-structured approach with open-ended questions and probes to gather qualitative data. At same time field observation was done during the same period as the interviews, suggesting that researchers observed real world situations or events related to their research topic and documents were collected from the annual reports, standard or guide and ICT meeting report/management meeting. The research findings and discovery are significant in highlighting the crucial elements which need to be addressed to ensure the sustainability and successful implementation of any digitization project. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, researchers' attitudes, practices, and challenges concerning RDM were explored. Preliminary findings suggest a fragmented approach to RDM, emphasizing the need for standardized practices and increased institutional support. The research underscores the crucial role that academic libraries can play in this context. Libraries are positioned not only as repositories but also as hubs for RDM knowledge dissemination, offering training and support to researchers. The study also delves into potential future directions for RDM in Malaysia, highlighting opportunities for academic libraries to further embed themselves in the research ecosystem. As RDM becomes increasingly integral in the global research landscape, this study serves as a timely examination of Malaysia's current stance and the steps it can take to ensure robust and effective RDM practices. . Disaster management, whether natural, man-made, or health-related, is integral to library management. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the preparedness and response of academic libraries to the disruption of library services during the Covid-19 pandemic. This paper presents qualitative findings from multiple case studies conducted at academic libraries in Malaysia. The data were subsequently subjected to thematic analysis. The results disclose how Academic Libraries expanded/modified their public service policies in response to the disaster, particularly the Covid-19 pandemic. Changes in roles in the provision of services and facilities that are more necessary during a disaster are shared by library managers and can serve as benchmarks for other libraries to implement as necessary. Academic libraries in Malaysia are perceived to have a strategy and their own plans to respond to a disaster crisis, but they lack a formal disaster management plan. This study's findings provide several significant practical contributions for library professionals to ensure the continuity of their services in the event of a disaster. Library Anxiety is an anxiety that occurs in a person towards the library. It usually happens to new students at a university. This is in line with the data that found that 75 to 85% of students out of 8000 respondents felt anxiety. Therefore, there is a need for Credit-Bearing Information Literacy Courses which are courses that will help students learn more about the library at the university. The method used in this article is literature review where it is necessary to collect, evaluate, and analyze articles found in various sources on the internet. The results obtained from this article are the effectiveness of Credit-Bearing Information Literacy Courses in dealing with Library Anxiety in students. It is also exemplified by the Library 101 program in the Universitas Airlangga library which provides an explanation and introduction to students on how to make the most of the facilities and services available at the Universitas Airlangga library.
