Background: Burnout syndrome is a chronic response to stressors in the workplace. It is characterized by emotional exhaustion and physical and mental burnout and may lead to high employee turnover, work absenteeism, and increased occupational accidents. Most studies use the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to identify burnout and implement preventive actions and treatments. Objective: This study presents a scoping review protocol to identify and map studies that used MBI to assess burnout syndrome in health care professionals working in public health services. Methods: This scoping review protocol follows the Joanna Briggs Institute reviewers' manual, and this protocol consists of 6 stages: identifying the research question, identifying relevant studies, study selection, data extraction and coding, analysis and interpretation of results, and consultation with stakeholders. We will conduct searches in Embase, LILACS, PubMed/MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Scopus, Web of Science databases, and gray literature. The main research question is as follows: how is MBI used to identify burnout syndrome in health care professionals working in public health services? Inclusion criteria will comprise qualitative and quantitative studies using MBI to identify burnout syndrome in health care professionals working in public health services and no restrictions in language and publication dates. Data will be extracted using a spreadsheet adapted from the Joanna Briggs Institute model. Quantitative and qualitative data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis, respectively. The consultation with stakeholders will be essential for increasing the knowledge about MBI, identifying new evidence, and developing future strategies to guide public policies preventing burnout syndrome in health care professionals working in public services. Results: This protocol will guide a scoping review to identify and map studies that used MBI to identify burnout syndrome in health care professionals working in public health services. The results of this review may be useful to public health care professionals, managers, policymakers, and the general population because these findings will help understand the validated, translated, and adapted versions of MBI and domains, number of items, Likert scales, and cutoff points or the latent profile analysis most used in the literature. Furthermore, possible research gaps may be identified to guide future studies. All information regarding the stages of the scoping review favor its transparency and allow it to be methodologically replicated according to the principles of open science, thereby reducing the risk of bias and data duplication. Conclusions: This study may reveal the multiplicity of scales described in the literature and the different forms of assessing burnout syndrome in health care professionals. This study may help to standardize the assessment of burnout syndrome in health care professionals working in public health services and contribute to the discussion and knowledge dissemination about burnout syndrome and mental health in this population. Introduction: We hypothesized that there are gaps in knowledge about the managers of the Unified Health System (SUS) and that the term manager is used to designate different actors. Objective: To map the scientific production and synthesize the evidence on SUS managers from a scoping review. Method: Scoping review guided by PRISMA-ScR. The 'population, concept, context' approach was followed to formulate the research question: What are the characteristics of publications and the main scientific evidence on SUS managers? Studies were searched in scientific literature bases from the combination of 53 terms. Selection was performed by reading titles, abstracts, and methods, followed by full analytical reading. The data were submitted to the usual techniques of descriptive statistical analysis and content analysis. Results: 51 publications were analyzed. There was a predominance of qualitative studies carried out with municipal managers in the South and Southeast regions. Evidence was found on the profile, attributions, and attributes of the manager and, to a lesser extent, on the perceptions of managers about their role. Conclusions: There were different uses of the term manager, a reduced number of studies that take SUS managers as the focus of analysis, and scarcity of evidence on state and federal managers. The scoping review proved to be a useful and rigorous method for mapping evidence and identifying gaps in knowledge. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: The social determination of health understands that the social structure has a direct influence on the health-disease process. Based on these assumptions, the political, historical and socioeconomic contexts must be considered when it comes to interventions aimed at improving health and living conditions History shows that the black population has experienced, since the period of slavery, a condition of vulnerability social and state neglect. Objective To reflect on the health condition of the black population in the covid-19 pandemic based on structural and institutional racism. Methodology This study is qualitative, in a theoretical essay format. So it seeks to understand racism in the health of the black population in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic. The essayist form experiences the dialogue with different authors in a critical and reflective way to understand reality. Results The fragility of the registration of race and color information can serve as a warning to expose the historical institutional racism of the health sector, through the denial of compliance with Ordinance No. 344, non-adherence to PNSIPN and also in the absence of stimulus from management of the health sector to fill in the race and color register by the workers. It is understood that in addition to the history of negligence that is still present today, the black population deals with narratives that go against the grain of science and the absence of specific policies for their protection. Final Considerations The importance of knowing the life and health condition of this population is highlighted in order to organize, in a critical and equitable way, the planning of health action. Thus, in situations of outbreaks and epidemics, it is possible to understand how the black population can be affected and what are the main ways to ensure protection from injuries and diseases. The teaching-service-community integration is an important strategy for achieving changes in the training of human resources in health, in order to train professionals with a profile to work in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS, as per its Portuguese acronym). This study analyzed how it occurs and what are the contributions of the teaching-service-community integration in the view of professors from the first to the seventh period of Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry programs at a university in northeastern Brazil. This is an exploratory and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach. Data were collected using an interview form and analyzed with the help of SPSS software. The descriptive analysis of the data, the chi-square test and the calculation of the internal consistency of the evaluation scale were used. The study had the participation of 106 professors. Results show that practices were still predominantly performed in university clinics and hospitals, 76 (71.7%). Most professors, 59 (56.7%), consider the teaching-service-community interaction very important for the quality of training and recognize its importance in strengthening SUS, 89 (85.6%). Although there was resistance on the part of some professors to follow-up students in extramural services, most of them, 94 (89.5%), consider the role of professors as essential for changing health practices, especially professors in nursing and dentistry professors that carry out extramural practices (p < 0.01). Interdisciplinary practices were performed more frequently in the first two periods of the three courses and by the nursing course (p = 0.001). In turn, multiprofessional interaction predominates in the practical classes of the nursing course and practices held outside the university domain (p < 0.01). It is evident the need to institutionalize the teaching-servicecommunity interaction, as well as to value initiatives that streamline and make teaching more flexible in multiprofessional and interdisciplinary activities, fundamental for the amendment of training in health. The article analyzes the role of Permanent Committees of Teaching-Service Integration (CIES) in the implementation of Permanent Education in Health Policy (EPS). It is a multicenter study with a qualitative-quantitative approach which used a self-applied online questionnaire and a semi-structured interview for data collection. The key respondants were the responsible for EPS Policy of the 27 State Health Secretariats (SES) and 7 coordinators of CIESs of the five regions of Brazil. The findings showed the existence of a specific EPS sector in most SES; high level of schooling, experience and stable employment status of the managers. Regarding CIESs, it was verified: existence in most of the states; creative process diversity; plural composition; regularity of meetings; good relationship with training institutions; difficulties in the use and management of resources destined for EPS. The study indicated progress, showing the importance of these instances as spaces of negotiation, agreement and development of EPS. However, challenges still need to be overcome in order to consolidate projects in the SES, strengthening the PNEPS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article analyzes an experience in technical cooperation between Brazil and Andean countries in the form of the International Course in the Management of Human Resource Policies in Health. This exploratory documental study encompassed a number of Latin American countries whose institutions of higher education had partnerships with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, mediated by the Pan American Health Organization Representation in Brazil. The course experience shows that fundamental values like ethics and solidarity are determinant to the success of technical cooperation processes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
