Abstract

This cross‐sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID‐19 in China. This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade‐A hospitals in China. Online and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID‐19 between December 28, 2022, and February 21, 2023. The collected information included basic demographics, medical history, smoking and drinking history, vaccination history, changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection, and other postinfection symptoms, as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory disorders. Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 subjects. The overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%. Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste dysfunction. Having received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such dysfunction. Before infection, the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51, respectively; after infection, they decreased to 3.69 and 4.29 and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the survey. The median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12 days, respectively, with 0.5% of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 28 days. The overall self‐reported improvement rate was 59.16%. Recovery was higher in males, never smokers, those who received two or three vaccine doses, and those that had never experienced dental health issues, or chronic accompanying symptoms. The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS‐CoV‐2 virus is high in China. Incidence and prognosis are influenced by several factors, including sex, SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccination, history of head‐facial trauma, nasal and oral health status, smoking and drinking history, and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Abstract

Two novel bipolar deep‐blue fluorescent emitters, IP‐PPI and IP‐DPPI, featuring different lengths of the phenyl bridge, were designed and synthesized, in which imidazo[1,2‐a]pyridine (IP) and phenanthroimidazole (PI) were proposed as an electron acceptor and an electron donor, respectively. Both of them exhibit outstanding thermal stability and high emission quantum yields. All the devices based on these two materials showed negligible efficiency roll‐off with increasing current density. Impressively, non‐doped organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on IP‐PPI and IP‐DPPI exhibited external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) of 4.85 % and 4.74 % with CIE coordinates of (0.153, 0.097) and (0.154, 0.114) at 10000 cd m−2, respectively. In addition, the 40 wt % IP‐PPI doped device maintained a high EQE of 5.23 % with CIE coordinates of (0.154, 0.077) at 10000 cd m−2. The doped device based on 20 wt % IP‐DPPI exhibited a higher deep‐blue electroluminescence (EL) performance with a maximum EQE of up to 6.13 % at CIE of (0.153, 0.078) and maintained an EQE of 5.07 % at 10000 cd m−2. To the best of our knowledge, these performances are among the state‐of‐the art devices with CIEy≤0.08 at a high brightness of 10000 cd m−2. Furthermore, by doping a red phosphorescent dye Ir(MDQ)2 (MDQ=2‐methyldibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline) into the IP‐PPI and IP‐DPPI hosts, high‐performance red phosphorescent OLEDs with EQEs of 20.8 % and 19.1 % were achieved, respectively. Abstract

Metal-oxide-semiconductor capacitors that incorporate ZrO2 gate dielectrics were fabricated by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. In this work, the essential structures and electrical properties of ZrO2 thin films were investigated. C-V, energy dispersive x-ray spectrometry, and transmission electron microscopy analyses reveal that an interfacial layer was formed, subsequently reducing the k value of the annealed ZrO2 thin films. Additionally, the mechanisms of conduction of the Al/ZrO2/p-Si metal/zirconium oxide/semiconductor structure were studied with reference to plots of standard Schottky emission, modified Schottky emission, and Poole–Frenkel emission. According to those results, the dominant mechanisms at high temperatures (>425 K) are Poole–Frenkel emission and Schottky emission in low electric fields (<0.6 MV/cm) and high electric fields (>1 MV/cm), respectively. Experimental results indicate that the Al/ZrO2 barrier height is 0.92 eV and the extracted trap level is about 1.1 eV from the conduction band of ZrO2. The modified Schottky emission can be applied in an electric field to ensure that the electronic mean free path of the insulator is less than its thickness. According to the modified Schottky emission model, the extracted electronic mobility of ZrO2 thin films is around 13 cm2/V s at 475 K. The mean free path of transported electrons in ZrO2 thin films is between 16.2 and 17.4 nm at high temperatures (425–∼475 K). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Synovial sarcoma is an uncommon, aggressive malignant tumor of the soft tissues primarily involving the extremities of young adults. Head and neck synovial sarcoma is rare, and its diagnosis and therapy are still challenging.We report a case of a young patient with synovial sarcoma, clinically masquerading as cystic mass of the neck and malignant second branchial cleft cyst. The pathological diagnosis of the sarcoma was confirmed by a multimodality diagnostic protocol, including histological, immunohistochemical and molecular genetic analysis. The patient underwent complete surgical excision followed by postoperative radiotherapy and recovered well.

Abstract

Employing 72724 Chinese manufacturing enterprise data over the period between 2005 and 2007, This paper examines the effects of the ownership types of of enterprise on innovation efficiency and further analysis the industry heterogeneity, regional heterogeneity of different ownership enterprise innovation efficiency of the mechanism. The empirical findings suggest that: (1) the state-owned enterprise innovation efficiency is significantly lower than that of non-state-owned enterprises;(2)the industry concentration on enterprise innovation efficiency is negative, but state-owned property weakening the negative influence; Technical opportunity to promote enterprise innovation efficiency of role, but state-owned property and private property rights are weakening the role in promoting; Entry barriers to the enterprise innovation efficiency is negative; In Hong Kong, Macao industry capital penetration degree to enterprise's innovation efficiency will take negative effects, but the state-owned property right of enterprises can weaken the negative effect; The foreign capital penetration degree could promote the enterprise to enhance the efficiency of innovation; The higher the degree of marketization, state-owned enterprises and private enterprises' innovation ability is stronger. The empirical results for China's current research to enhance the efficiency of enterprise innovation, especially in the enterprise ownership structure transformation, industry access of foreign capital and industry provides a very important reference value.
