The article provides analysis of the passivity of various options for the rational use of the fleet of diesel locomotives with the pur - pose of improving the operational reliability indicators of diesel engines installed on freight diesel locomotives. The rationality of the use of mathematical statistical methods, with their application to in-service diesel engines installed on diesel locomotives, was assessed with the use of the accumulated statistical data on breakdowns/disorders of main-line diesel locomotives of State Company “Lietuvos geležinkeliai” (Lithuanian Railways). On the basis of technical documentation, with the use of the results of comparative tests and practically approbated indirect diesel engine reliability criteria, the comparative assessment of the operating life of in-service diesel engines installed on freight diesel locomotives has been performed. In order to substantiate the adequacy of tests, the adaptation of the programme modules of mathematical computer simulation of the parameters of diesel engines of the fleet operated by Lithuanian Railways. The differences between the results established by the experiment and simu - lated by the computer do not exceed 5–7 %. The indirect criteria of evaluating the mechanical and thermal load of parts of diesel engines installed on diesel locomotives have been selected and adapted. An algorithm of the methodology for the evaluation of the reliability criteria of diesel engines installed on diesel locomotives and forecasting of the operating life has been developed. It has been implemented in the form of a mathematical simulation programming complex.

Pateikiamos naujos kartos lokomotyvų elektros pavaros, kuriuose taikomos kompiuterinio valdymo ir diagnostikos sistemos, statiniuose keitikliuose naudojami naujausi elektronikos elementai – IGBT tranzistoriai. In work experimental researches of longevity and technical and operating parameters of diesel engine diesels are presented 10D100 with modified tribosystems. The last are instrumental in the rapid starting and decline of wear depending on time of starting, thus, such diesel practically on any speed and loading modes can be exploited without the promoted wear. At the modified shells of cylinders the wear of compression rings does not affect the size of breach of gases in carter. Thus, the modified tribosystems provide maximal longevity and providing of high technical and operating parameters of diesel engine.

5. Prediction methodology of durability of locomotives diesel engines

The article testifies that technical maintenance and repair terms as well as durability can be predicted accordingly to the maintenance parameters of the diesel locomotives. It is determined that fixing fuel consumption and capacity of diesel locomotives and taking in comparison with limit values allows to set a performance date for technical maintenance. Introduced suggested aspects of interrepair resource of the diesels dependent on comparable fuel consumption and evaluating their operating probability without failure for the durability prediction of diesel locomotives. Currently, the most common are three strategies: until failure, scheduled – premonitory and adaptive (diagnostic). When the quantity of necessary technical maintenances is known for the specific kind of diesel locomotives it is possible to determine interrepair resource depending on comparative and required per hour consumption of fuel and predict their durability taking into account probability of operating without failures.

The present paper determines the comparative commercial efficiency of the acquisition of passenger coaches made by АО “КВСЗ” [1–5] by the Lithuanian railways. The commercial efficiency indicators take into consideration the financial effects of realizing investment projects for their immediate participants. Commercial efficiency may be calculated for the project as a whole, and for separate participants thereof. In the present study, advantages in terms of value of the passenger coaches analyzed with respect to analogous passenger coaches made by company Bombardier when used on the Lithuanian railways has been shown.

13. Traukos riedmenų elektrinės pavaros naudojant kintamosios srovės elektros variklius

The paper considers the variation of circuit design of the electric drives in traction rolling stocks when traditional DC electric machines are replaced with AC electric machines. Simplified circuit diagrams of the electric drives using electric machines of non-commutator type are offered. Operational defects of DC traction engines are weighed against some positive characteristics of direct current series excitation in traction engines, determining their extensive use in the electric drives of traction rolling stocks. However, the rapid development of semiconductor devices, e.g. thyristors and IGBT transistors, led to the creation of a great variety of semiconductor inverters. This made it possible to develop an autonomous three-phase power supply system for diesel locomotives and algorithms for the AC traction motors and to obtain engine characteristics matching the tractive force by using voltage frequency and current inverters. A mathematical justification of the engine torque and tractive force control as well as its particular characteristics is provided. The graphs demonstrating the particular ways of changing the electrical parameters of an asynchronous motor with a squirrel-cage rotor are also presented. Straipsnyje nagrinėjami traukos riedmenų elektrinių pavarų struktūros scheminiai pokyčiai keičiant tradicines nuolatinės srovės elektros mašinas kintamosios srovės mašinomis. Pateiktos galimo riedmenų elektrinių pavarų sudarymo supaprastintos schemos naudojant bekolektorines elektros mašinas. Aprašyti nuolatinės srovės traukos variklių eksploatacijos trūkumai, atsižvelgiant į nuolatinės srovės nuoseklaus žadinimo traukos variklių teigiamas savybes, kurios lėmė jų vyravimą traukos riedmenų elektrinėse pavarose. Tačiau spartus jėgos puslaidininkinių tiristorių, IGBT-tranzistorių plėtojimas sudarė prielaidas sukurti didelę puslaidininkinių keitiklių įvairovę. Todėl pavyko šilumvežių traukoje (elektrinės traukos riedmenyse iš vienfazio kontaktinio tinklo, taip pat nuolatinės srovės kontaktinio tinklo) sukurti autonominę trifazę maitinimo sistemą. Joje, naudojant įtampos, dažnio, srovės keitiklius-inverterius, sukurti kintamosios srovės traukos variklio valdymo algoritmai ir gautos traukai pritaikytos variklių charakteristikos. Aprašomas traukos variklių sukimo momento, traukos jėgos reguliavimo matematinis pagrindimas, konkrečios traukos charakteristikos, pateikti grafikai, kurie rodo kaip reikia keisti asinchroninio variklio su trumpai jungtu rotoriumi elektrinius parametrus. Рассмотрены теоретические аспекты электрической тяги, представлена структура силового электрического привода тягового подвижного состава с применением тяговых двигателей переменного тока на основе асинхронных двигателей с короткозамкнутым ротором и вентильных двигателей. Описан алгоритм управления основными параметрами электрической цепи: напряжением, частотой питающего напряжения, их соотношением в процессе регулирования в режиме тяги и электрического торможения. Основные выводы позволяют строить структуру систем автоматического регулирования для обеспечения, описанного алгоритма управления. Алгоритм управления представлен в математической форме и даны соответствующие характеристики.

The paper examines the main provisions of the methods used for optimization of station-to-station travel time taken (according to the criteria of minimum fuel consumption for haulage) for freight long train timing with consideration of longitudinal dynamic efforts. A hybrid mathematical model of long train travel is developed, where in one case of travel the train is considered as a flexible non-extensible line with a variable running weight, in other cases the train is considered as a system of weights connected by nonlinear deformable elements with a consideration of gap clearance in a draft. The model allows essentially reducing the time of solving the problem. The problem of selecting an optimum mode of train operation with consideration of longitudinal dynamic efforts and use of method of dynamic programming in a discrete form was set. Optimum haul times of running for a train schedule and mode diagrams corresponding thereto calculated using the program system passed operational check with the purpose to obtain reliable statistical estimation of their impact on reduction of the fuel consumption on haulage of trains and level of longitudinal dynamic efforts. The optimal speed of the train is chosen (defined) taking into account the given travel time and the longitudinal track profile, when the Diesel locomotive fuel consumption are minimum. Results of experimental research with long trains, weight up to 8000 tons, are presented herein. Experimental operational trips confirmed the correctness of theoretical preconditions and techniques of selection of optimum modes of driving of long trains, demonstrated potential for decrease of level of longitudinal dynamic efforts by 1.5-2 times and achievement of fuel economy on haulage up to 5-8 % when such trains move on a site with the undulating way profile. Recuperation is one of the most perspective energy saving methods in railway transport - conversion of train kinetic energy into electric energy and its release to the other user. Recuperation could be very useful for freight transportation. Full and several times heavier than empty train units are transported to sea ports (i.e. going down), the empty ones several times lighter than full ones are transported from the sea ports (i.e. going up). Such asymmetry of freight transportation volumes (when the direction is "down" the freight volumes are higher than the direction is "up") could be effectively applied for the recuperation of the energy. When there is a respective combination of railway incline and freight asymmetry, it is possible to use freight potential energy with the help of recuperation and in thereby freight transportation could be possible without external energy source, however, there is a minimum limit of incline which could not be exceeded (to smaller part) because then the recuperation is not possible. Analizuojant šalies geležinkelių transporto eismo statistinius duomenis nustatyta, kad daugiausia eismo įvykių įvyksta pervažose. Nagrinėjamos įvairių kategorijų pervažų techninės charakteristikos, nustatoma eismo įvykio tikimybė jose. Pagal gautus rezultatus atskirų šalies regionų pervažos, įvertinant pasirinktus kriterijus ir jų įtakos eismo saugumui svarbą, yra suranguojamos. Apskaičiuojama rizika pavojingiausiose šalies regionų pervažose. Pateiktos baigiamojo darbo išvados. Atskirai pridedami darbo priedai. The risk of Lithuanian railway traffic, threats to the safety of the train and causes of the accident probability is created in this final work. The analysis of the country traffic statistics showed that the majority of accidents occur in level crossings. Deal with in various different categories of crossings, technical characteristics are established the accident probability of crossings. According to the results of various regions of the country crossings, adopted the criteria and their impact on traffic safety. The criteria of level crossing safety are ranked. The risk of the most dangerous country’s regions crossings is calculated. Finally the basic conclusions are given. Baigiamajame magistro darbe apžvelgiama dyzelinių degalų gamyba, sudėtis ir jų priedai. Aprašyti dyzelinių variklių išskiriami teršalai bei jų mažinimo principai. Nagrinėjamos degalų mišinių struktūrinės ypatybės bei savybės. Išnagrinėti mišinių gavimo būdai ir įrenginiai. Atlikti eksperimentiniai tyrimai, kurių metu skirtingais kiekiais ir esant skirtingiems parametrams buvo maišomas dyzelinas su vandeniu ir įvairiais stabilizuojančiais priedais. Gautos degalų mišinio vandens dalelių dydžio priklausomybės. Nagrinėta stabilizuojančių priedų įtaka vandens dalelių dydžiui bei mišinio išsisluoksniavimo laikui. Apskaičiuotas mokėtinas taršos mokestis naudojant gryną dyzeliną ir degalų mišinį. Pateiktos darbo išvados. Discribed the emissions, resulting from diesel engines and their reduction. Examined structural features and properties of the fuel blends and fuel emulsions. Overview of formulas obtained getting stable emulsions. Receiving experimental studies in which different quantities of diesel and water were mixed with certain parameters. The resulting particle size dependence of water in the emulsion. Visited additives on particle size and mixture of delamination time. Polution tax calculated using pure diesel fuel and fuel blend. Work consists of 8 parts: introduction, overview of diesel fuel in diesel engines, exhaust composition analysis of the fuel blends on the engine capacity to work, blends of receipt of techniques and equipment to carry out experimental studies, economic evaluation, and conclusions. Baigiamajame darbe išanalizuota mokslinės literatūros šaltiniai, kuriuose buvo tirti ir išnagrinėti riedmenų ašidėžių temperatūrų kitimo procesai, temperatūrų pasiskirstymas ašidėžės ir aširačio mazgo elementuose. Išanalizuoti ašidėžių temperatūrų kitimo greičiai esant guolių gedimams, pateiktos ašidėžių liekamojo resurso prognozės. Išnagrinėti tyrimai pagrindžiantys riedmenų automatinės kontrolės prietaisų išdėstymo atstumų atitikimą saugių eismo sąlygų reikalavimams. Darbe pateikta realiomis sąlygomis atliktų bandymų rezultatų analizė. Nustatytos ašidėžių mazgo kaitimo tendencijos. Pateikta pagrindinių faktorių galinčių įtakoti ašidėžių kaitimo intensyvumą. Atliktas gautų bandymo rezultatų palyginimas si literatūros šaltiniuose pateiktais duomenimis ir nurodytos galimos bandymų rezultatų ir literatūros šaltinių duomenų neatitikimo priežastys. Pateiktos rekomendacijos, kuriomis remiantis galima padidinti traukinių eismo saugą ir išvengti avarinių situacijų dėl ašidėžių mazgo galimų defektų ir galima prognozuoti liekamąjį darbo resursą. Nurodytos tolesnių papildomų tyrimų kryptys. Baigiamąjį darbą sudaro 3 pagrindinės dalys, išvados, siūlymai bei literatūros sąrašas. In the final analysis of the scientific literature sources that have been investigated and examine the axle box temperature variation processes, temperature axle box and of the wheelset node items. Parse axle box temperature variation speeds at bearing failures, the axle box residual resource forecast. The studies on which the automatic control devices layout distances with safe traffic conditions. Work in real terms of the results of the tests carried out. The axle box assembly heating trends. The main factors which could influence the axle box heating. The comparison of the results of the test carried out si literature reference data and the results of the tests and literature data the reasons. Recommendations on the basis of which can be increased traffic safety and avoid emergency situations of axle box node of possible defects and predict the residual labor resource. The dissertation considers the problems, associated with passenger transportation by international trains (PTIT). The research object is the process of passenger transportation by international trains (PPTIT). By using the experimental methods, the significances (weights) and the order of preferences of the qualitative criteria, describing this process, are determined. The complex model, deve-loped by the author for multicriteria PTIT evaluation, allows for determining a single-valued quantitative criterion for evaluating a particular train travelling on a particular route. The main aim of the dissertation is to offer a methodology for evaluating the quality of passenger transportation by international trains (QPTIT). The dissertation consists of the Introduction, four chapters, the description of the obtained results, the list of references as well as the author’s publications on the topic of the thesis and 12 annexes. The Introduction briefly describes the research problem and object, the topicality of the work, its aim and objectives, and the applied research methods, as well as the novelty and practical value of the results obtained and the defended statements. [to full text] Disertacijoje nagrinėjamos tarptautinio keleivių vežimo geležinkeliais (TKVG) problemos. Pagrindinis darbo objektas – tarptautinio keleivių vežimo geležinkeliais procesas (TKVGP). Eksperimentiniais metodais nustatyti kelionės traukiniu kokybės kriterijų reikšmingumas ir šių kriterijų grupių svarba (pirmumas). Autorės suformuluotas TKVG kompleksinis daugiakriterinis vertinimo modelis leido nustatyti vieno traukinio, vykstančio tam tikru maršrutu, vienareikšmį kiekybinį rodiklį. Pagrindinis disertacijos tikslas – pateikti tarptautinio keleivių vežimo geležinkeliais (kelionės traukiniu) kokybės (TKVGK) vertinimo metodologiją. Disertaciją sudaro įvadas, keturi skyriai, rezultatų apibendrinimas, naudotos literatūros ir autorės publikacijų disertacijos tema sąrašai bei 12 priedų. Baigiamajame magistro darbe nagrinėjamos traukinių ant magnetinės pagalvės (MAGLEV) technologijos. Atlikta išsami traukinių ant magnetinės pagalvės pasaulinės patirties analizė. Ištirti šių traukinių pagrindiniai privalumai ir trūkumai lyginant su įprastiniais greitaisiais traukiniais. Parinkti traukinių eksploatavimo lyginamieji parametrai. Pateikiami riedmenų TRASNRAPID 08 (MAGLEV) ir ICE 3 (tradicinės sistemos) techniniai ekonominiai lyginimo rezultatai. Atliktas daugiakriteris vertinimas. Pabaigoje suformuluotos išvados. Baigiamajame magistro darbe sudarytos 37 lentelės, pavaizduota 60 paveikslų. Darbo apimtis 95 psl. Final master work analyzes technologies of trains on magnetic cushion (MAGLEV). World experience analysis of trains on magnetic cushion is made. Advantages and disadvantages of MAGLEV systems in comparison with other high speed trains are also discussed. Performance comparative parameters were chosen. Technical economical analysis results are made using TRASNRAPID 08 as MAGLEV system train and ICE 3 as traditional system train. Also multi criteria evaluation is made. Finally, conclusions are formed. Final master work consists: 37 tables, 60 figures and 4 appendixes. Work size 95 pages.

Baigiamajame darbe išanalizuotas AB „Lietuvos geležinkeliai“ prekinių šilumvežių parkas. Išnagrinėti parko modernizacijos projektai. Atlikta prekinių šilumvežių dyzelinių degalų sąnaudų pasirinktame geležinkelio ruože lyginamoji analizė. Atlikta ekonominė analizė, nustatytas modernizuotų, remotorizuotų 2M62 serijos šilumvežių bei naujų SIEMENS ER20 CF prekinių šilumvežių ekonominis efektas pagal sutaupytą degalų kiekį, lyginant su 2M62 šilumvežiais, turinčiais 14D40 variklį. Nustatytas 2M62 serijos šilumvežių modernizacijos, remotorizacijos bei naujo SIEMENS ER20 CF atsipirkimo laikas pagal sutaupytą degalų kiekį ir kitas eksploatacines sąnaudas. Pateikta prekinių šilumvežių parko struktūrinė analizė, prekinių šilumvežių degalų sąnaudų priklausomybės nuo fizinių veiksnių tyrimas, prekinių šilumvežių ekonominis įvertinimas. Išnagrinėta informacija apibendrinta išvadomis ir pasiūlymais, pateiktas literatūros sąrašas. Darbo apimtis – 70 p. teksto be priedų, 36 iliustr., 24 lent., 15 bibliografinių šaltinių. Atskirai pridedami darbo priedai. The paper analyzes Joint-Stock Company AB „Lietuvos Geležinkeliai“ depot of goods heat-engines. The paper investigates the projects of depot modernization. A comparative analysis of fuel expenditure by goods heat-engines has been conducted in the selected section of the railway. The economic analysis has been carried out, which determines the economic effect of the modernized and remotorized 2M62 series heat-engines and the new SIEMENS ER20 CF goods heat-engines with regard to the saved fuel amount as compared to 2M62 heat-engines with 14D40 engines. The time of covering the modernization and remotorization of 2M62 series heat-engines and the purchase of the new SIEMENS ER20 CF has been determined with regard to the saved fuel amount. The paper presents a structural analysis of the depot for goods heat-engines as well as the research of fuel expenditure by goods heat-engines dependence on physical factors, a comparative analysis of diesel fuel expenditure by goods heat-engines in the railway section as well as economic assessment of goods heat-engines have been conducted. The volume of the paper is 70 pages of text excluding appendices, 36 illustrations, 24 tables, 15 bibliography entries. The appendices are supplied separately.

Šiame baigiamajame darbe išanalizuotas bendrovės turimas lokomotyvų parkas, jų sudėtis, amžius, techninės charakteristikos. Apžvelgtos lokomotyvų parko atnaujinimo programos. Atlikta prekinių-magistralinių lokomotyvų gedimų analizė iki parko atnaujinimo ir po jo. Pateikta krovinių vežimų analizė iki 2007 metų bei prognozė iki 2030 m. Apžvelgti AB „Lietuvos geležinkeliai“ vykdomi bei numatomi įgyvendinti infrastruktūros projektai, kurie gali turėti įtakos lokomotyvų parko kitimo ilgalaikei strategijai. Remiantis teorinėmis formulėmis ir informacija, nustatytomis prielaidomis bei lokomotyvų apyvartos analize buvo išvesta formulė, pagal kurią skaičiuoti turimų, numatytų įsigyti bei modernizuotų lokomotyvų pajėgumai parko kitimo perspektyvoje ir palyginti su prognozuojamu krovinių srautų didėjimu. Identifikavus reikalingus lokomotyvų pajėgumus ir jų papildomą kiekį perspektyvoje pasiūlytas racionaliausias lokomotyvų parko kitimo ilgalaikės strategijos variantas. The locomotive park, its composition, age and technical characteristics of stock company are analyzed in this master’s dissertation. There are reviewed renewal programmes of Locomotive Park. Here have been analyzed breakdowns of freight locomotives till and after renewal program. Here have been analyzed freight haulage till 2007 year and forecast till 2030 year. There is reviewed JSC “Lietuvos geležinkeliai“ supposed infrastructure project which could influence to the locomotives fleet long-rate strategic. Considering to theoretical formulas and information, selected presumptions and locomotive work analyses was educed formula in accordance with was calculated locomotives potential work in the future and compared with forecast of freight haulage. Here have been identified the demand and amount of locomotive work in the prospect and suggested most rational development prospects of the locomotive park of JSC "Lietuvos geležinkeliai".

Shortsea shipping promotion and optimization issues have been repeatedly emphasized by the EU Commission and long-term researchers of the segment. The problem we are facing today is, that many commercial players still wrongly approach shortsea shipping with scepticism, as a bit outdated mode of transport; besides there are numerous administrative obstacles and factors involved that impede ultimate integration of shortsea shipping into the existing intermodal and multimodal transport chains. Inadequate infrastructures of port terminals, lack of logistics elements, as well as protectionism related barriers existing in the EU member states, all these urge the necessity to investigate the feasibility and potential of shortsea shipping across the EU.

Emergency braking of a vehicle is bound with many factors, such as the behaviour of the driver, the drive of the vehicle braking system, the braking mechanisms, the condition of the tyres, and the properties of the pavement. This process involves all parameters of the system “the driver – the vehicle – the road”. In order to investigate the efficiency of braking process upon specific conditions, it is necessary to examine all physical processes that take place in the vehicle on pressing the brake pedal. Upon the completion of the experimental and theoretical investigation on emergency braking of vehicles a general mathematical model of vehicle with hydraulic braking system on its emergency braking had been developed. The dynamic, thermodynamic in solid systems and fluid hydrodynamic processes were assessed. The model enables to examine various cases of emergency braking with assessment of the driver’s reaction, parameters of the vehicle’ technical condition and the pavement condition. A general mathematical model of vehicle with hydraulic braking system that’s computing is realized in the system of the applied software Compaq Visual Fortran Professional system provides possibilities for research the hydrodynamic processes that take place in the system of braking; enables to define more closely the movement parameters of the vehicle in the emergency braking mode and may be applied for analysis of traffic events, improvement of vehicle braking systems as well as a manual for... In this work are present analysis of traction rolling – stock in Lithuania. There are traversed main criterias of 2M62 series lokomotyve of Radviliškis lokomotyve depot – expenses of maintenance and outlays of fuel, oil, unplanned repairs, running repairs ER-1 and technical handling TP-3.According to complex quality rate is determined critical technical state of traction rolling-stock. There is designed expedient technique of selection of traction rolling-stock and terms of purchase, invoking which we could get maximum economical effect.Inferences are present in the end of this work.
