Conventional single‐vector model predictive control (MPC) can suffer from low control accuracy, while multi‐vector MPC is often criticized for its complexity and heavy computational burden. In order to address these issues, an adjacent vector‐based MPC is investigated in this paper for an electric vehicle battery charging and discharging converter. The voltage vector selection table based on the principle of using adjacent vectors has been designed and this reduces the number of iterations and thus the computational burden. A threshold is used in the adjacent vector‐based MPC to coordinate the use of the single and multi‐vector MPCs considering a balance between the control accuracy and computational burden. In addition, to enhance the robustness of MPC to parameter changes, an extended state observer for active disturbance rejection control has been used to derive the predictive model, and an adjacent vector‐based MPC using extended state observer is studied. The method does not need accurate system parameters. Instead, it only requires the system input and output measurements to calculate the predicted current. The robustness of the controller against the parameter mismatch is enhanced compared to alternative approaches and the experimental results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Based on the principles of reinjection converter technology and submodule operation, a novel topology for a reinjection multilevel voltage source converter (RMVSC) is proposed. In this topology, submodules are dynamically connected in series as the reinjection circuit. This new topology retains all the functions of the RMVSC while offering flexible control of the reinjection circuit and ease of modularization, making it highly suitable for high-voltage, high-power applications. A circulating drive pulse sequence was developed for the 7-level serial submodule RMVSC, ensuring dynamic stability of the submodule voltage and maintaining low harmonic distortion when interfaced with the grid. Building on this, a double-loop control strategy—comprising an outer power loop and an inner current loop—was proposed for the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) of RMVSC. A simulation model was constructed in PSCAD/EMTDC, and the simulation results confirm the excellent performance of the proposed topology and the effectiveness of both the modulation strategy and the double-loop control strategy. The RMVSC-STATCOM demonstrates continuous and bidirectional reactive power regulation, with high control accuracy and superior compensation current quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the large-scale penetration of distributed generation (DG), the volatility problems of active distribution networks (ADNs) have become more prominent, which can no longer be met by traditional regulation means and need to be regulated by introducing flexible resources. Soft open points (SOP) and energy storage systems (ESS) can regulate the tidal currents on spatial and temporal scales, respectively, to improve the flexibility of ADN. To this end, in-depth consideration of DG admission is given to establish flexibility assessment indicators from the power side of ADN. The conditional deep convolution generative adversarial network (C-DCGAN) is used to generate the output scenario of DG. On this basis, the SOP and ESS two-layer planning models, which take account of the potential for improvement in the flexibility of ADN, are constructed. Among them, the upper layer is the site selection and volume determination layer, which considers the economy of the system with the optimization objective of minimizing the annual integrated cost; the lower layer is the operation optimization layer, which considers the flexibility of the system and takes the highest average daily flexibility level as the optimization objective. The planning model is solved using genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GA-PSO) and second-order cone programming (SOCP). With the rapid development of power grid infrastructure, especially the increasing number of ultra-high voltage (UHV) projects, knowledge extracted from historical engineering data is collected and can be potentially used to assist in the review of power transmission and transformation projects. However, conventional knowledge modeling and knowledge reasoning methods cannot meet the current needs of power grid construction. In this paper, considering the more supernumerary and distinctive information brought by multi-view data which could be beneficial for feature representation and knowledge reasoning from the constructed knowledge base, a multi-view graph convolutional network (GCN) based on knowledge graph is proposed to make classification for power grid infrastructure projects. Specifically, several views are constructed based on attribute information of a knowledge graph. In addition, a Haar convolution-based pooling mechanism is employed to capture the structural features represented by a chain of subgraphs. And then an aggregator that combines both attribute and structural information is used to classify UHV projects. Scandium is the best alloying element to improve the mechanical properties of industrial Al-Si-Mg casting alloys. Most literature reports devote to exploring/designing optimal Sc additions in different commercial Al-Si-Mg casting alloys with well-defined compositions. However, no attempt to optimize the contents of Si, Mg, and Sc has been made due to the great challenge of simultaneous screening in high-dimensional composition space with limited experimental data. In this paper, a novel alloy design strategy was proposed and successfully applied to accelerate the discovery of hypoeutectic Al-Si-Mg-Sc casting alloys over high-dimensional composition space. Firstly, high-throughput CALculation of PHAse Diagrams (CALPHAD) solidification simulations of ocean of hypoeutectic Al-Si-Mg-Sc casting alloys over a wide composition range were performed to establish the quantitative relation 'composition-process-microstructure'. Secondly, the relation 'microstructure-mechanical properties' of Al-Si-Mg-Sc hypoeutectic casting alloys was acquired using the active learning technique supported by key experiments designed by CALPHAD and Bayesian optimization samplings. After a benchmark in A356-xSc alloys, such a strategy was utilized to design the high-performance hypoeutectic Al-xSi-yMg alloys with optimal Sc additions that were later experimentally validated. Finally, the present strategy was successfully extended to screen the optimal contents of Si, Mg, and Sc over high-dimensional hypoeutectic Al-xSi-yMg-zSc composition space. It is anticipated that the proposed strategy integrating active learning with high-throughput CALPHAD simulations and key experiments should be generally applicable to the efficient design of high-performance multi-component materials over high-dimensional composition space. Electric vehicles (EVs) not only serve as significant loads for the power grid but also play a crucial role in the operation of the traffic. Their travel and charging behaviors have an impact on both the power grid and the road network. In order to address the potential impacts of a large-scale deployment of EVs on the power grid and the exacerbation of traffic congestion, this paper first establishes a dynamic road network model based on graph theory and time-varying traffic data combined with a road impedance model. Then, the spatio-temporal distribution characteristics of EV travel are modeled. Furthermore, by incorporating real-time road network data, the traditional Dijkstra's algorithm for finding the optimal path is improved. At each node, the current real-time road impedance is used as the objective for EV path updates, thus accurately capturing the energy consumption of the EVs. Finally, using a standard testing problem on a typical working day based on data from a real case, the impacts of EV travel and charging behaviors on power distribution network operation and traffic congestion are analyzed under scenarios with no guidance and guidance for the shortest travel time. The results show that this method can significantly reduce the time cost by approximately 18% in travel time, which is of particular concern to users. This method balances the load of the charging stations, elevates the voltage level within the safety requirement of 7%, and simultaneously alleviates traffic congestion near the stations.
