In the proof of the irrationality of $\zeta(3)$ and $\zeta(2)$, Ap\'ery defined two integer sequences through $3$-term recurrences, which are known as the famous Ap\'ery numbers. Zagier, Almkvist--Zudilin and Cooper successively introduced the other $13$ sporadic sequences through variants of Ap\'ery's $3$-term recurrences. All of the $15$ sporadic sequences are called Ap\'ery-like sequences. Motivated by Gessel's congruences mod $24$ for the Ap\'ery numbers, we investigate the congruences in the form $u_n\equiv \alpha^n \pmod{N_{\alpha}}~(\alpha\in \mathbb{Z},N_{\alpha}\in \mathbb{N}^{+})$ for all of the $15$ Ap\'ery-like sequences $\{u_n\}_{n\ge 0}$. Let $N_{\alpha}$ be the largest positive integer such that $u_n\equiv \alpha^n \pmod{N_{\alpha}}$ for all non-negative integers $n$. We determine the values of $\max\{N_{\alpha}|\alpha \in \mathbb{Z}\}$ for all of the $15$ Ap\'ery-like sequences $\{u_n\}_{n\ge 0}$.The binomial transforms of Ap\'ery-like sequences provide us a unified approach to this type of congruences for Ap\'ery-like sequences., Comment: 19 pages

Based on two involutions and a bijection, we completely determine the difference between the number of $\ell$-regular partitions of $n$ into an even number of parts and into an odd number of parts for all positive integers $n$ and $\ell>1$, which extends two recent results due to Ballantine and Merca. As an application, we provide a combinatorial proof of Hickerson's identity on the number of partitions into an even and odd number of parts., Comment: 6 pages

Andrews and Merca [J. Combin. Theory Ser. A 203 (2024), Art. 105849] recently obtained two interesting results on the sum of the parts with the same parity in the partitions of $n$ (the modulo $2$ case), the proof of which relies on generating functions. Motivated by Andrews and Merca's results, we define six statistics related to the partitions of $n$ and show that the two triples of the six statistics are equidistributed. From this equidistributed result, we derive modulo $m$ extensions of Andrews and Merca's results for all integers $m\ge 2$. Osburn, Sahu and Straub introduced the numbers: \begin{align*} A_n^{(r,s,t)}=\sum_{k=0}^n{n\choose k}^r{n+k\choose k}^s{2k\choose n}^t, \end{align*} for non-negative integers $n,r,s,t$ with $r\ge 2$, which includes two kinds of Ap\'ery numbers and four kinds of Ap\'ery-like numbers as special cases, and showed that the numbers $\{A_n^{(r,s,t)}\}_{n\ge 0}$ satisfy the Gauss congruences of order $3$. In this paper, we calculate the quantum time delays for neutron scattering off the Earth's linear gravitational potential. The quantum time delays are obtained by subtracting the classical returning time (CRT) from the Wigner time, the dwell time and the redefined Larmor time respectively. Different from the conventional definition, our Larmor time is defined by aligning the magnetic field along the neutron propagation direction, and this definition does give reasonable results for motions through a free region and a square barrier. It is worth noting that in the zero magnetic field limit, the Larmor time coincides well with the CRT, which is due to the special shape of linear barrier, and may have some relevance to the weak equivalence principle. It is also found that the classical forbidden region plays an essential role for the dwell time $\tau_{_\mathrm{DW}}$ to match with the CRT, and the difference between the dwell and the phase times, \ie, the self-interference time delay, is barrier shape sensitive and clearly shows the peculiarity of the linear barrier. All the time delays are on the order of sub-millisecond and exhibit oscillating behaviors, signaling the self-interference of the scattering neutron, and the oscillations become evident only when the de Broglie wavelength $\lambda_k=2\pi/k$ is comparable to the characteristic length $L_c=[2m^2g/\hbar^2]^{-1/3}$. If the time delay measurement is experimentally realizable, it can probe the quantum nature for particle scattering off the gravitational potential in the temporal domain., Comment: 14 pages, 14 figures

We prove three supercongruences for sums of Almkvist-Zudilin numbers, which confirm some conjectures of Zudilin and Z.-H. Sun. We prove some supercongruence and divisibility results on sums involving Domb numbers, which confirm four conjectures of Z.-W. Sun and Z.-H. Sun.
