The rapid development of Generative AI (GAI) has sparked revolutionary changes across various aspects of education. Personalized learning, a focal point and challenge in educational research, has also been influenced by the development of GAI. To explore GAI's extensive impact on personalized learning, this study investigates its potential to enhance various facets of personalized learning through a thorough analysis of existing research. The research comprehensively examines GAI's influence on personalized learning by analyzing its application across different methodologies and contexts, including learning strategies, paths, materials, environments, and specific analyses within the teaching and learning processes. Through this in-depth investigation, we find that GAI demonstrates exceptional capabilities in providing adaptive learning experiences tailored to individual preferences and needs. Utilizing different forms of GAI across various subjects yields superior learning outcomes. The article concludes by summarizing scenarios where GAI is applicable in educational processes and discussing strategies for leveraging GAI to enhance personalized learning, aiming to guide educators and learners in effectively utilizing GAI to achieve superior learning objectives.

The concept of photonic bound states in the continuum (BICs), introduced in structured metallic surface cavities, provides a crucial mechanism for designing plasmonic open-resonant cavities with high quality (high-Q) factors, making significant advances in plasmonic nanophotonics. However, the two major bottlenecks for plasmonic nanocavities: enhancing emission and big beam divergence for quantum emitters, due to the strong intrinsic Ohmic losses of metals. Here, we propose and realize a {\sigma}h symmetry-breaking plasmonic honeycomb nanocavities (PHC) that support quasi-BIC resonance modes with high-Q factors. Our anodic oxidation-engineered strategy breaks out-of-plane symmetry while preserving in-plane symmetry, enabling the PHC to exhibit collective plasmonic lattice resonances (PLR) couplings and achieve Q-factors exceeding 106. Experimentally, we couple perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) to the PHC, demonstrating effective tuning of their emission properties and beam quality in the blue spectral region, achieving a 32-fold emission enhancement by suppress Ohmic loss and the life time of quantum emitters, simultaneously realize vertical emission in the 2.556 - 2.638 eV region, with a far-field hexagonal beam shape and a full width at half maximum of 12.6 degree under optimal coupling conditions. Furthermore, we demonstrate topological band inversion characterized by Zak phase transitions by continuously tuning the system parameters, confirming that the PHC supports topologically non-trivial q-BIC due to PLR coupling. Quiet-Sun regions cover most of the Sun's surface; its magnetic fields contribute significantly to the solar chromospheric and coronal heating. However, characterizing the magnetic fields of the quiet Sun is challenging due to their weak polarization signal. The 4-m \textit{Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope} (\textit{DKIST}) is expected to improve our understanding of the quiet-Sun magnetism. In this paper, we assess the diagnostic capability of the Diffraction-Limited Near Infrared Spectropolarimeter (DL-NIRSP) instrument on \textit{DKIST} on the energy transport processes in the quiet-Sun photosphere. To this end, we synthesize high-resolution, high-cadence Stokes profiles of the \ion{Fe}{1} 630~nm lines using a realistic magnetohydrodynamic simulation, degrade them to emulate the \textit{DKIST}/DL-NIRSP observations, and subsequently infer the vector magnetic and velocity fields. For the assessment, we first verify that a widely used flow-tracking algorithm, Differential Affine Velocity Estimator for Vector Magnetograms, works well for estimating the large-scale ($> 200$ km) photospheric velocity fields with these high-resolution data. We then examine how the accuracy of inferred velocity depends on the temporal resolution. Finally, we investigate the reliability of the Poynting flux estimate and its dependence on the model assumptions. The results suggest that the unsigned Poynting flux, estimated with existing schemes, can account for about $71.4\%$ and $52.6\%$ of the reference ground truth at $\log \tau =0.0$ and $\log \tau = -1$. However, the net Poynting flux tends to be significantly underestimated. The error mainly arises from the underestimated contribution of the horizontal motion. We address the challenge of creating 3D assets for household articulated objects from a single image. Prior work on articulated object creation either requires multi-view multi-state input, or only allows coarse control over the generation process. These limitations hinder the scalability and practicality for articulated object modeling. In this work, we propose a method to generate articulated objects from a single image. Observing the object in resting state from an arbitrary view, our method generates an articulated object that is visually consistent with the input image. To capture the ambiguity in part shape and motion posed by a single view of the object, we design a diffusion model that learns the plausible variations of objects in terms of geometry and kinematics. To tackle the complexity of generating structured data with attributes in multiple domains, we design a pipeline that produces articulated objects from high-level structure to geometric details in a coarse-to-fine manner, where we use a part connectivity graph and part abstraction as proxies. Symmetries are ubiquitous across all kinds of objects, whether in nature or in man-made creations. While these symmetries may seem intuitive to the human eye, detecting them with a machine is nontrivial due to the vast search space. Classical geometry-based methods work by aggregating "votes" for each symmetry but struggle with noise. In contrast, learning-based methods may be more robust to noise, but often overlook partial symmetries due to the scarcity of annotated data. In this work, we address this challenge by proposing a novel symmetry detection method that marries classical symmetry detection techniques with recent advances in generative modeling. Specifically, we apply Langevin dynamics to a redefined symmetry space to enhance robustness against noise. We provide empirical results on a variety of shapes that suggest our method is not only robust to noise, but can also identify both partial and global symmetries. The escalating global cancer burden underscores the critical need for precise diagnostic tools in oncology. This research employs deep learning to enhance lesion segmentation in PET/CT imaging, utilizing a dataset of 900 whole-body FDG-PET/CT and 600 PSMA-PET/CT studies from the AutoPET challenge III. Our methodical approach includes robust preprocessing and data augmentation techniques to ensure model robustness and generalizability. We investigate the influence of non-zero normalization and modifications to the data augmentation pipeline, such as the introduction of RandGaussianSharpen and adjustments to the Gamma transform parameter. This study aims to contribute to the standardization of preprocessing and augmentation strategies in PET/CT imaging, potentially improving the diagnostic accuracy and the personalized management of cancer patients. This study explores a workflow for automated segmentation of lesions in FDG and PSMA PET/CT images. Due to the substantial differences in image characteristics between FDG and PSMA, specialized preprocessing steps are required. Utilizing YOLOv8 for data classification, the FDG and PSMA images are preprocessed separately before feeding them into the segmentation models, aiming to improve lesion segmentation accuracy. The study focuses on evaluating the performance of automated segmentation workflow for multitracer PET images. The findings are expected to provide critical insights for enhancing diagnostic workflows and patient-specific treatment plans. The National Science Foundation's Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST) will provide high-resolution, multi-line spectropolarimetric observations that are poised to revolutionize our understanding of the Sun. Given the massive data volume, novel inference techniques are required to unlock its full potential. Here, we provide an overview of our "SPIn4D" project, which aims to develop deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for estimating the physical properties of the solar photosphere from DKIST spectropolarimetric observations. We describe the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) modeling and the Stokes profile synthesis pipeline that produce the simulated output and input data, respectively. These data will be used to train a set of CNNs that can rapidly infer the four-dimensional MHD state vectors by exploiting the spatiotemporally coherent patterns in the Stokes profile time series. Specifically, our radiative MHD model simulates the small-scale dynamo actions that are prevalent in quiet-Sun and plage regions. Six cases with different mean magnetic fields have been conducted; each case covers six solar-hours, totaling 109 TB in data volume. The simulation domain covers at least $25\times25\times8$ Mm with $16\times16\times12$ km spatial resolution, extending from the upper convection zone up to the temperature minimum region. The outputs are stored at a 40 s cadence. We forward model the Stokes profile of two sets of Fe I lines at 630 and 1565 nm, which will be simultaneously observed by DKIST and can better constrain the parameter variations along the line of sight. This paper presents Team Xaiofei's innovative approach to exploring Face-Voice Association in Multilingual Environments (FAME) at ACM Multimedia 2024. We focus on the impact of different languages in face-voice matching by building upon Fusion and Orthogonal Projection (FOP), introducing four key components: a dual-branch structure, dynamic sample pair weighting, robust data augmentation, and score polarization strategy. Our dual-branch structure serves as an auxiliary mechanism to better integrate and provide more comprehensive information. We also introduce a dynamic weighting mechanism for various sample pairs to optimize learning. Data augmentation techniques are employed to enhance the model's generalization across diverse conditions. Additionally, score polarization strategy based on age and gender matching confidence clarifies and accentuates the final results. Our methods demonstrate significant effectiveness, achieving an equal error rate (EER) of 20.07 on the V2-EH dataset and 21.76 on the V1-EU dataset.

Recent studies seek to provide Graph Neural Network (GNN) interpretability via multiple unsupervised learning models. Due to the scarcity of datasets, current methods easily suffer from learning bias. To solve this problem, we embed a Large Language Model (LLM) as knowledge into the GNN explanation network to avoid the learning bias problem. We inject LLM as a Bayesian Inference (BI) module to mitigate learning bias. The efficacy of the BI module has been proven both theoretically and experimentally. We conduct experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets. The innovation of our work lies in two parts: 1. We provide a novel view of the possibility of an LLM functioning as a Bayesian inference to improve the performance of existing algorithms; 2. With the complexity of lunar exploration missions, the moon needs to have a higher level of autonomy. Environmental perception and navigation algorithms are the foundation for lunar rovers to achieve autonomous exploration. The development and verification of algorithms require highly reliable data support. Most of the existing lunar datasets are targeted at a single task, lacking diverse scenes and high-precision ground truth labels. To address this issue, we propose a multi-task, multi-scene, and multi-label lunar benchmark dataset LuSNAR. This dataset can be used for comprehensive evaluation of autonomous perception and navigation systems, including high-resolution stereo image pairs, panoramic semantic labels, dense depth maps, LiDAR point clouds, and the position of rover. In order to provide richer scene data, we built 9 lunar simulation scenes based on Unreal Engine. Each scene is divided according to topographic relief and the density of objects. To verify the usability of the dataset, we evaluated and analyzed the algorithms of semantic segmentation, 3D reconstruction, and autonomous navigation. The experiment results prove that the dataset proposed in this paper can be used for ground verification of tasks such as autonomous environment perception and navigation, and provides a lunar benchmark dataset for testing the accessibility of algorithm metrics. This research reports VascularPilot3D, the first 3D fully autonomous endovascular robot navigation system. As an exploration toward autonomous guidewire navigation, VascularPilot3D is developed as a complete navigation system based on intra-operative imaging systems (fluoroscopic X-ray in this study) and typical endovascular robots. VascularPilot3D adopts previously researched fast 3D-2D vessel registration algorithms and guidewire segmentation methods as its perception modules. We additionally propose three modules: a topology-constrained 2D-3D instrument end-point lifting method, a tree-based fast path planning algorithm, and a prior-free endovascular navigation strategy. VascularPilot3D is compatible with most mainstream endovascular robots. Ex-vivo experiments validate that VascularPilot3D achieves 100% success rate among 25 trials. It reduces the human surgeon's overall control loops by 18.38%. VascularPilot3D is promising for general clinical autonomous endovascular navigations.

Migratory and tissue resident cells exhibit highly branched morphologies to perform their function and to adapt to the microenvironment. Immune cells, for example, display transient branched shapes while exploring the surrounding tissues. In another example, to properly irrigate the tissues, blood vessels bifurcate thereby forcing the branching of cells moving on top or within the vessels. In both cases microenvironmental constraints force migrating cells to extend several highly dynamic protrusions. Here, we present a theoretical model for the shape dynamics and migration of cells that simultaneously span several junctions, which we validated by using micropatterns with an hexagonal array, and a neuronal network image analysis pipeline to monitor the macrophages and endothelial cell shapes and migration. In our model we describe how the actin retrograde flow controls branch extension, retraction and global cell polarization. We relate the noise in this flow to the residency times and trapping of the cell at the junctions of the network. In addition, we found that macrophages and endothelial cells display very different migration regimes on the network, with macrophages moving faster and having larger changes in cell length in comparison to endothelial cells. These results expose how cellular shapes and migration are intricately coupled inside complex geometries.

3D modeling of articulated objects is a research problem within computer vision, graphics, and robotics. Its objective is to understand the shape and motion of the articulated components, represent the geometry and mobility of object parts, and create realistic models that reflect articulated objects in the real world. This survey provides a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art in 3D modeling of articulated objects, with a specific focus on the task of articulated part perception and articulated object creation (reconstruction and generation). We systematically review and discuss the relevant literature from two perspectives: geometry modeling (i.e., structure and shape of articulated parts) and articulation modeling (i.e., dynamics and motion of parts). Through this survey, we highlight the substantial progress made in these areas, outline the ongoing challenges, and identify gaps for future research. Our survey aims to serve as a foundational reference for researchers and practitioners in computer vision and graphics, offering insights into the complexities of articulated object modeling.

Large language models (LLMs) have become pivotal in recent research. However, during the inference process, LLMs still require substantial resources. In this paper, we propose CliqueParcel, a method designed to improve the efficiency of LLMs via prompt batching. Existing strategies to optimize inference efficiency often compromise on output quality, leading to a discounted output problem. This issue might result in reduced accuracy or outputs that are less detailed. CliqueParcel is our answer to this challenge. While ensuring accuracy and minimizing deviations from the original outputs (i.e., faithfulness), our method significantly improves efficiency during inference. To lay the groundwork, we first redefine efficiency measurements by excluding the reduction in running time due to shorter lengths. Then, we provide a comprehensive trade-off between efficiency and faithfulness to clarify the nature of the 'discounted output' problem. Within the CliqueParcel framework, we suggest multiple batching sub-methods and discuss the specific scenarios in which they can be applied. During evaluation, CliqueParcel is tested on eight widely recognized datasets, which can be classified into three types: reading comprehension, open-source question-answering, and reasoning. Our experiments explore the performance of CliqueParcel, including efficiency, faithfulness, and the trade-off between them. This work provides novel insights into inference efficiency and demonstrates promising performance.

We address the challenge of generating 3D articulated objects in a controllable fashion. Currently, modeling articulated 3D objects is either achieved through laborious manual authoring, or using methods from prior work that are hard to scale and control directly. We leverage the interplay between part shape, connectivity, and motion using a denoising diffusion-based method with attention modules designed to extract correlations between part attributes. Our method takes an object category label and a part connectivity graph as input and generates an object's geometry and motion parameters. The generated objects conform to user-specified constraints on the object category, part shape, and part articulation. Our experiments show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art in articulated object generation, producing more realistic objects while conforming better to user constraints. Fourier ptychography (FP) is an enabling imaging technique that produces high-resolution complex-valued images with extended field coverages. However, when FP images a phase object with any specific spatial frequency, the captured images contain only constant values, rendering the recovery of the corresponding linear phase ramp impossible. This challenge is not unique to FP but also affects other common microscopy techniques -- a rather counterintuitive outcome given their widespread use in phase imaging. The underlying issue originates from the non-uniform phase transfer characteristic inherent in microscope systems, which impedes the conversion of object wavefields into discernible intensity variations. To address this challenge, we present spatially-coded Fourier ptychography (scFP), a new method that synergizes FP with spatial-domain coded detection for true quantitative phase imaging. In scFP, a flexible and detachable coded thin film is attached atop the image sensor in a regular FP setup. The spatial modulation of this thin film ensures a uniform phase response across the entire synthetic bandwidth. It improves reconstruction quality and corrects refractive index underestimation issues prevalent in conventional FP and related tomographic implementations. The inclusion of the coded thin film further adds a new dimension of measurement diversity in the spatial domain. The development of scFP is expected to catalyse new research directions and applications for phase imaging, emphasizing the need for true quantitative accuracy with uniform frequency response.

We address the task of simultaneous part-level reconstruction and motion parameter estimation for articulated objects. Given two sets of multi-view images of an object in two static articulation states, we decouple the movable part from the static part and reconstruct shape and appearance while predicting the motion parameters. To tackle this problem, we present PARIS: a self-supervised, end-to-end architecture that learns part-level implicit shape and appearance models and optimizes motion parameters jointly without any 3D supervision, motion, or semantic annotation. Our experiments show that our method generalizes better across object categories, and outperforms baselines and prior work that are given 3D point clouds as input. Our approach improves reconstruction relative to state-of-the-art baselines with a Chamfer-L1 distance reduction of 3.94 (45.2%) for objects and 26.79 (84.5%) for parts, and achieves 5% error rate for motion estimation across 10 object categories. Email platforms need to generate personalized rankings of emails that satisfy user preferences, which may vary over time. We approach this as a recommendation problem based on three criteria: closeness (how relevant the sender and topic are to the user), timeliness (how recent the email is), and conciseness (how brief the email is). We propose MOSR (Multi-Objective Stationary Recommender), a novel online algorithm that uses an adaptive control model to dynamically balance these criteria and adapt to preference changes. We evaluate MOSR on the Enron Email Dataset, a large collection of real emails, and compare it with other baselines. The results show that MOSR achieves better performance, especially under non-stationary preferences, where users value different criteria more or less over time. We also test MOSR's robustness on a smaller down-sampled dataset that exhibits high variance in email characteristics, and show that it maintains stable rankings across different samples. With the rapid evolution of large language models (LLMs), there is a growing concern that they may pose risks or have negative social impacts. Therefore, evaluation of human values alignment is becoming increasingly important. Previous work mainly focuses on assessing the performance of LLMs on certain knowledge and reasoning abilities, while neglecting the alignment to human values, especially in a Chinese context. In this paper, we present CValues, the first Chinese human values evaluation benchmark to measure the alignment ability of LLMs in terms of both safety and responsibility criteria. As a result, we have manually collected adversarial safety prompts across 10 scenarios and induced responsibility prompts from 8 domains by professional experts. To provide a comprehensive values evaluation of Chinese LLMs, we not only conduct human evaluation for reliable comparison, but also construct multi-choice prompts for automatic evaluation. Our findings suggest that while most Chinese LLMs perform well in terms of safety, there is considerable room for improvement in terms of responsibility. Moreover, both the automatic and human evaluation are important for assessing the human values alignment in different aspects. Delta ($\delta$) sunspots sometimes host fast photospheric flows along the central magnetic polarity inversion line (PIL). Here we study the strong Doppler shift signature in the central penumbral light bridge of solar active region NOAA 12673. Observations from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) indicate highly sheared, strong magnetic fields. Large Doppler shifts up to 3.2 km s$^{-1}$ appeared during the formation of the light bridge and persisted for about 16 hours. A new velocity estimator, called DAVE4VMwDV, reveals fast converging and shearing motion along the PIL from HMI vector magnetograms, and recovers the observed Doppler signal much better than an old version of the algorithm. The inferred velocity vectors are largely (anti-)parallel to the inclined magnetic fields, suggesting that the observed Doppler shift contains significant contribution from the projected, field-aligned flows. High-resolution observations from the Hinode/Spectro-Polarimeter (SP) further exhibit a clear correlation between the Doppler velocity and the cosine of the magnetic inclination, which is in agreement with HMI results and consistent with a field-aligned flow of about 9.6 km s$^{-1}$. The complex Stokes profiles suggest significant gradients of physical variables along the line of sight. In this paper, we present ChatPLUG, a Chinese open-domain dialogue system for digital human applications that instruction finetunes on a wide range of dialogue tasks in a unified internet-augmented format. Different from other open-domain dialogue models that focus on large-scale pre-training and scaling up model size or dialogue corpus, we aim to build a powerful and practical dialogue system for digital human with diverse skills and good multi-task generalization by internet-augmented instruction tuning. To this end, we first conduct large-scale pre-training on both common document corpus and dialogue data with curriculum learning, so as to inject various world knowledge and dialogue abilities into ChatPLUG. Then, we collect a wide range of dialogue tasks spanning diverse features of knowledge, personality, multi-turn memory, and empathy, on which we further instruction tune \modelname via unified natural language instruction templates. External knowledge from an internet search is also used during instruction finetuning for alleviating the problem of knowledge hallucinations. We show that \modelname outperforms state-of-the-art Chinese dialogue systems on both automatic and human evaluation, and demonstrates strong multi-task generalization on a variety of text understanding and generation tasks. In addition, we deploy \modelname to real-world applications such as Smart Speaker and Instant Message applications with fast inference. In Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication, the high mobility of vehicles generates the Doppler shift which leads to channel uncertainties. Moreover, the reasons for channel uncertainties also include the finite channel feedback, channels state information (CSI) loss and latency. With this concern, we formulate a joint spectrum and power allocation problem for V2X communication with imperfect CSI. Specifically, the sum capacity of cellular user equipments (CUEs) is maximized subject to the minimum Signal-to-Interference-and-Noise Ratio (SINR) requirements of CUEs and the outage probability constraints of vehicular user equipments (VUEs). Then, two different robust resource allocation approaches are designed to solve the problem. One is Bernstein Approximation-based Robust Resource Allocation approach. More specifically, Bernstein approximations are employed to convert the chance constraint into a calculable constraint, and Bisection search method is proposed to obtain the optimal allocation solution with low complexity. Then, for further reducing the computational complexity, Self-learning Robust Resource Allocation approach, which includes a learning method and an analytical mapping method, is proposed as the second approach. The learning method is devised to learn the uncertainty set which transforms the chance constraint into calculable constraints, and the analytical mapping method is proposed to obtain closed-form solutions of the resource allocation problem. Finally, the simulation results prove that the proposed approaches can improve the capacity of all CUEs effectively whilst ensuring the reliability of the channel.
