13. Enhancing Atmospheric Water Harvesting of MIL‐101 (Cr) MOF Sorbent with Rapid Desorption Enabled by Ni─Ni3S2 Photothermal Bridge.

Abstract

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as leading candidates for atmospheric water harvesting (AWH). Despite their high water uptake capacity, challenges persist in effective solar‐driven desorption for water collection. Addressing this, a photothermal bridge is introduced by in situ growth of Ni₃S₂ coating on a thermally conductive nickel mesh, enhancing heat transfer to the MOF and accelerating desorption kinetics. MIL‐101 (Cr) MOF in bulk form (BMOF) is bonded to the lightweight Ni─Ni3S2 mesh using adhesive, forming a dual‐layer Ni─Ni₃S₂ mesh/BMOF assembly. This hybrid retains a high water uptake of ≈0.63 g g⁻¹ at 60% relative humidity (RH) with superior sorption kinetics. Photothermally driven heat transfer from Ni─Ni₃S₂ to BMOF achieves complete water desorption within 40 min under 1 kW m−2. Compared to other configurations like foil, granules, and foam, the mesh‐based hybrid has the highest single‐cycle adsorption–desorption kinetic of 3.18 × 10⁻3 g g⁻¹ min⁻¹. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates exceptional hydrothermal stability over 50 cycles and maintains morphological stability with airflow, ensuring consistent performance. Heat transfer simulations confirm the thermal distribution across the Ni─Ni₃S₂ mesh/BMOF, corroborating the rapid and uniform desorption. Abstract

Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 (LATP) solid‐state electrolyte has garnered considerable interest owing to its competitive room‐temperature Li‐ion conductivity, air stability, and economic nature. Nevertheless, the successful implementation of LATP in next‐generation Li‐metal solid‐state batteries (SSBs) is impeded by its high incompatibility with Li metal. Herein, combining the Kevlar aramid nanofiber (KANF) membrane with a solidified electrolyte (SE) formed via in situ polymerization, the SE@KANF protective layer for LATP can be constructed. Such a protective layer not only effectively prevents Li metal from reducing LATP but also provides intimate interface contact and limits unnecessary electron transport. Consequently, Li symmetric battery incorporating SE@KANF layer enables an ultrahigh critical current density of 1.4 mA cm−2 and stably cycles for over 2000 h at 0.2 mA cm−2. Moreover, the full SSB coupling with LiFePO4 cathode delivers a capacity retention of 95% after 180 cycles at 0.1 C at 30 °C. 45. Large-scale rapid synthesis of C@MnO2 nano particles by using an ultrasound strategy for supercapacitor electrode.

Abstract

A facile approach of introducing ultrasound for the large-scale rapid synthesis of core-shell C@MnO2 nano particles was suggested for practical application in supercapacitors. Results showed that the mesoporous C@MnO2 particles possess a high specific surface area of 62.8 m2 g−1. With the use of stable gel electrolyte, the C@MnO2 electrode delivers a specific capacitance of 177 F g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 under a high mass loading of 6 mg cm−2. When the current density increases to 10 A g−1, the specific capacitance reaches up to 128 F g−1. Long-term test confirms only 8.3% decline in initial capacitance after 5000 cycles, thus implying the practical application of MnO2 for energy storage devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

This paper proposes an evaluation method of vocational and technical course reform using the minimum-rule self-organizing maps ellipse fuzzy-patch evaluation model. First, it analyses the vocational and technical education course system reform evaluation model. Considering teachers and experts an evaluation model and a determination process of index weight is obtained. Then the situation in which many self-organizing maps nodes may cause complex models and overfitting is identified. Then we adopt the Pearson correlation coefficient to process determination problems of optimal self-organizing maps grid size and provides suggestions. Then we estimate the ellipse fuzzy patch construction method based on improved Gaussian membership for computing relevant data. Finally, we verify the effectiveness of the method via simulation testing.

Abstract

Here, a novel and low cost redox flow fuel cell that directly converts raw biomass to electricity at low temperature without utilizing any noble metal catalyst is reported. In this cell, Fe3+ ion, which has strong oxidizing power and is chemical stable, was directly utilized as an oxidant for biomass in anolyte. The reduced Fe2+ acted as charge carriers, transferring the electrons to the anode of the cell and being converted back to Fe3+ simultaneously. The degradation chemistry of the biomass from the oxidation reaction and the apparent oxidation kinetics were investigated using glucose as the biomass model compound. The results showed that glucose was decomposed to small organic molecules and even CO2, and the reaction rate was significantly affected by temperature and content of reactant. The apparent activation energy of the redox reaction is 127.85 kJ·mol−1 based on the linear relation equation at the initial stage of the reaction. And the preference conditions of the redox reaction are 100–110 °C, 0.2–0.5 mol·L−1 glucose and the mol ratio of C6H12O6/FeCl3 from 1:10 to 1:12. Meantime, a high potential (VO2)2SO4 solution was synthesized as catholyte which was regenerated by O2 in the present of small amount of HNO3. The power density and discharge current density of the biomass redox flow fuel cell could reach 125.7 mW·cm−2 and 314.2 mA·cm−2, respectively, which was about 755 times higher than the reported microbial fuel cell by utilizing glucose as substrate. This work provides a promising way for converting abundant natural biomasses, such as crop straws and bagasse, into electricity at low temperature (80–110 °C).
