6. Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation Modulating the Brain Topological Architecture of Functional Network in Major Depressive Disorder: An fMRI Study.

Abstract

Background: Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) is effective in regulating mood and high-level cognition in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of taVNS treatment in patients with MDD and an altered brain topological organization of functional networks. Methods: Nineteen patients with MDD were enrolled in this study. Patients with MDD underwent 4 weeks of taVNS treatments; resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data of the patients were collected before and after taVNS treatment. The graph theory method and network-based statistics (NBS) analysis were used to detect abnormal topological organizations of functional networks in patients with MDD before and after taVNS treatment. A correlation analysis was performed to characterize the relationship between altered network properties and neuropsychological scores. Results: After 4 weeks of taVNS treatment, patients with MDD had increased global efficiency and decreased characteristic path length (Lp). Additionally, patients with MDD exhibited increased nodal efficiency (NE) and degree centrality (DC) in the left angular gyrus. NBS results showed that patients with MDD exhibited reduced connectivity between default mode network (DMN)–frontoparietal network (FPN), DMN–cingulo-opercular network (CON), and FPN–CON. Furthermore, changes in Lp and DC were correlated with changes in Hamilton depression scores. Conclusions: These findings demonstrated that taVNS may be an effective method for reducing the severity of depressive symptoms in patients with MDD, mainly through modulating the brain's topological organization. Abstract

A non-equivalent semantic obfuscation-based software watermarking,scheme was introduced to satisfy the demands of software intellectual property breaches in cloud.Via obfuscated source codes,part of semantics was cut into a recovery module to make the source code unavailable.Watermarks map to transform rules were embedded concurrently into these obfuscated codes.The recovery module was a recognizer to prove the watermarks when the original program was recovering.Experimental results,using Java decompliers,indicate that the code become ob-fuscated,is difficult to reverse engineering,thereby mabe the watermarks robust.

Abstract

Phthalic acid esters (PAEs) are typical endocrine disruptors which are ubiquitous contaminants. Human exposure to PAEs is through multiple routes of which the diet is recognised as the main source of daily intake. The aim of this study was to evaluate the dietary exposure to PAEs of residents in Shenzhen (China) through a total diet study and assess the potential health risk. A total of 16 different phthalate esters in samples of 12 composite food groups were determined by GC–MS. The main dietary sources of PAE exposure among adult residents in Shenzhen were potatoes (21%), eggs (21%), meat (15%) and aquatic products (14%). The median total dietary exposure to PAEs in Shenzhen residents was 7780 ng kg−1 bw d−1, and the hazard quotients (HQ) of dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-isobutyl phthalate (DIBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) were 0.09, 0.06, 0.07, 0.10 and 0.03, respectively. Therefore, the risks from dietary PAE exposure were low. However, with the increasing use of PAEs and their accumulation in the environment, the probability of PAEs entering the food chain is gradually increasing and, therefore, PAEs should be strictly controlled and regularly monitored.

37. Nox and co fluctuations in a busy street canyon

Abstract

Busy street canyons can have a large flow of vehicles and reduced air exchange and wind speeds at street level, exposing pedestrians to high pollutant concentrations. The airflow tended to move with vehicles along the canyon and the 1-s concentrations of NO, NO2 and CO were highly skewed close to the road and more normally distributed at sensors some metres above the road. The pollutants were more autocorrelated at these elevated sensors, suggesting a less variable concentration away from traffic in the areas of low turbulence. The kerbside concentrations also showed cyclic changes approximating nearby traffic signal timing. The cross-correlation between the concentration measurements suggested that the variation moved at vehicle speed along the canyon, but slower vertically. The concentrations of NOx and CO were slightly higher at wind speeds of under a metre per second. The local ozone concentrations had little effect on the proportion of NOx present as NO2 . Pedestrians on the roadside would be unlikely to exceed the USEPA hourly guideline value for NO2 of 100 ppb. Across the campaign period, 100 individual minutes exceeded the guidelines, though the effect of short-term, high-concentration exposures is not well understood. Tram stops at the carriageway divider are places where longer exposures to higher levels of traffic-associated pollutants are possible. © 2021 by the authors. Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.

Abstract

Some limitations exist classroom learning assessment in the basic education (K12) stage: the role of diagnostic assessment and formative assessment is weakened, and the measurement of students' cognitive thinking ability is neglected. Firstly, this study clarifies the selected topic index of classroom assessment based on the SOLO classification theory, and constructs the classroom learning assessment model supported by the mobile intelligent terminal. Then, the study designs the mobile teaching tool to promote the implementation of classroom learning assessment, and carries on the system function test and the teaching practice. Finally, the study iterates and optimizes the classroom learning assessment model and prototype system based on the effective feedback from teachers and students. The results demonstrate that the combination of the SOLO classification theory and mobile teaching tools to implement classroom learning assessment can maximum the advantages of diversified assessment and promote learning through assessment.
