The nitrogen nutrition index (NNI) is a significant agronomic statistic used to assess the nitrogen nutrition status of crops. The use of remote sensing to invert it is crucial for accurately diagnosing and managing nitrogen nutrition in crops during critical periods. This study utilizes the UHD185 airborne hyperspectral imager and the ASD Field Spec3 portable spectrometer to acquire hyperspectral remote sensing data and agronomic parameters of the winter wheat canopy during the nodulation and flowering stages. The objective is to estimate the NNI of winter wheat through a winter wheat nitrogen gradient experiment conducted in Leling, Shandong Province. The ASD spectral reflectance data of the winter wheat canopy were selected as the reference standard and compared with the UHD185 hyperspectral data obtained from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The comparison focused on analyzing the trends in the spectral curve changes and the spectral correlation between the two datasets. The findings indicated a strong agreement between the UHD185 hyperspectral data and the spectral data obtained by ASD in the range of 450–830 nm. A spectrum index was developed to estimate the nitrogen nutritional index utilizing the bands within this range. The linear model, based on the first-order derivative ratio spectral index (RSI) (FD666, FD826), demonstrated the highest accuracy in estimating the nitrogen nutrient index in winter wheat. The model yielded R2 values of 0.85 and 0.75, respectively, and may be represented by the equation y = −2.0655x + 0.156. Yield prediction is an important agriculture management for crop policy making. In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and spectral sensor technology have been widely used in crop production. This study aims to evaluate the ability of UAVs equipped with spectral sensors to predict oilseed rape yield. In an experiment, RGB and hyperspectral images were captured using a UAV at the seedling (S1), budding (S2), flowering (S3), and pod (S4) stages in oilseed rape plants. Canopy reflectance and spectral indices of oilseed rape were extracted and calculated from the hyperspectral images. After correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA), input spectral indices were screened to build yield prediction models using random forest regression (RF), multiple linear regression (MLR), and support vector machine regression (SVM). The results showed that UAVs equipped with spectral sensors have great potential in predicting crop yield at a large scale. Machine learning approaches such as RF can improve the accuracy of yield models in comparison with traditional methods (e.g., MLR). The RF-based training model had the highest determination coefficient (R2) (0.925) and lowest relative root mean square error (RRMSE) (5.91%). In testing, the MLR-based model had the highest R2 (0.732) and lowest RRMSE (11.26%). Moreover, we found that S2 was the best stage for predicting oilseed rape yield compared with the other growth stages. Milk vetch (Astragalus sinicus L.) is a winter-growing plant that can enhance soil fertility and provide essential nutrients for subsequent season crops. The fertilizing capacity of milk vetch is closely related to its above-ground biomass. Compared to the manual measurement methods of milk vetch biomass, remote sensing-based estimation methods have the advantages of rapid, noninvasive, and large-scale measurement. However, few studies have been conducted on remote sensing-based estimation of milk vetch biomass. To address this shortcoming, this study proposes combining unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based hyperspectral imagery and machine learning algorithms for accurate estimation of milk vetch biomass. Through the analysis of hyperspectral images and feature selection based on the Pearson correlation and principal component analysis, vegetation indices (VIs), including near-infrared reflectance (NIR), red-edge spectral transform index (RE), and difference vegetation index (DVI), are selected as estimation metrics of the model development process. Four machine learning methods, including random forest (RF), multiple linear regression (MLR), deep neural network (DNN), and support vector machine (SVM), are used to construct the biomass models. The results show that the RF estimation model exhibits the highest coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.950 and the lowest relative root-mean-squared error (RRMSE) of 14.86% among all the models. Notably, the DNN model demonstrates promising performance on the test set, with the R2 and RRMSE values slightly superior and inferior to those of the RF, respectively. Ginkgo biloba L. is a rare dioecious species that is valued for its diverse applications and is cultivated globally. This study aimed to develop a rapid and effective method for determining the sex of a Ginkgo biloba. Green and yellow leaves representing annual growth stages were scanned with a hyperspectral imager, and classification models for RGB images, spectral features, and a fusion of spectral and image features were established. Initially, a ResNet101 model classified the RGB dataset using the proportional scaling–background expansion preprocessing method, achieving an accuracy of 90.27%. Further, machine learning algorithms like support vector machine (SVM), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and subspace discriminant analysis (SDA) were applied. Optimal results were achieved with SVM and SDA in the green leaf stage and LDA in the yellow leaf stage, with prediction accuracies of 87.35% and 98.85%, respectively. To fully utilize the optimal model, a two-stage Period-Predetermined (PP) method was proposed, and a fusion dataset was built using the spectral and image features. The overall accuracy for the prediction set was as high as 96.30%. This is the first study to establish a standard technique framework for Ginkgo sex classification using hyperspectral imaging, offering an efficient tool for industrial and ecological applications and the potential for classifying other dioecious plants. With the popularity of cameras, the application of action recognition is more and more extensive. After the emergence of RGB‐D cameras and human pose estimation algorithms, human actions can be represented by a sequence of skeleton joints. Therefore, skeleton‐based action recognition has been a research hotspot. In this paper, a novel 3D Graph Convolutional Network model (3D‐GCN) with space‐time attention mechanism for 2D skeleton data is proposed. Three‐dimensional graph convolution is employed to extract spatiotemporal features of skeleton descriptor that is composed of joint coordinates, frame differences and angles. Meanwhile, different joints and different frames are given different attention to achieve action classification. A zebra crossing pedestrian dataset named ZCP is also provided, which simulates possible pedestrian actions on the zebra crossing in real scenes. Experimental evaluation is carried out on ZCP dataset and NTU RGB+D dataset. Experimental results show that our method is better than current 2D‐based methods and is comparable with 3D methods.
