In this paper, we presented the 23.3 years of pulsar timing results of PSR J1456-6413 based on the observation of Parkes 64m radio telescope. We detected two new glitches at MJD 57093(3) and 59060(12) and confirmed its first glitch at MJD 54554(10). Using the "Cholesky" timing analysis method, we have determined its position, proper motion, and two-dimensional transverse velocities from the data segments before and after the second glitch, respectively. Furthermore, we detected exponential recovery behavior after the first glitch, with a recovery time scale of approximately 200 days and a corresponding exponential recovery factor Q of approximately 0.15(2), while no exponential recovery was detected for the other two glitches. More interestingly, we found that the leading component of the integral pulse profile after the second glitch became stronger, while the main component became weaker. Our results will expand the sample of pulsars with magnetosphere fluctuation triggered by the glitch event.

In quantum information technology, crucial information is regularly encoded in different quantum states. To extract information, the identification of one state from the others is inevitable. However, if the states are non-orthogonal and unknown, this task will become awesomely tricky, especially when our resources are also limited. Here, we introduce the quantum stochastic neural network (QSNN), and show its capability to accomplish the binary discrimination of quantum states. After a handful of optimizing iterations, the QSNN achieves a success probability close to the theoretical optimum, no matter whether the states are pure or mixed. Other than binary discrimination, the QSNN is also applied to classify an unknown set of states into two types: entangled ones and separable ones. After training with four samples, it can classify a number of states with acceptable accuracy. Our results suggest that the QSNN has the great potential to process unknown quantum states in quantum information.

Observation of Interplanetary Scintillation (IPS) provides an important and effective way to study the solar wind and the space weather. A series of IPS observations were conducted by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). The extraordinary sensitivity and the wide frequency coverage make FAST an ideal platform for IPS studies. In this paper we present some first scientific results from FAST observations of IPS with the L-band receiver. Based on the solar wind velocity fitting values of FAST observations on September 26-28, 2020, we found that the velocity decreases with increasing frequency linearly, which has not yet been reported in literature. And we have also detected a variation of solar wind velocity on a timescale of 3-5 minutes, which imply the slow change of the background solar wind, a co-existence of high- and low-speed streams, or a reflect of the quasi-periodic electron-density fluctuations., Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures

Observations of Interplanetary Scintillation (IPS) are an efficient remote-sensing method to study the solar wind and inner heliosphere. From 2016 to 2018, some distinctive observations of IPS sources like 3C 286 and 3C 279 were accomplished with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST), the largest single-dish telescope in the world. Due to the 270-1620 MHz wide frequency coverage of the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) receiver, one can use both single-frequency and dual-frequency analyses to determine the projected velocity of the solar wind. Moreover, based on the extraordinary sensitivity owing to the large collecting surface area of FAST, we can observe weak IPS signals. With the advantages of both the wider frequency coverage and high sensitivity, also with our radio frequency interference (RFI) mitigation strategy and an optimized model-fitting method developed, in this paper, we analyze the fitting confidence intervals of the solar wind velocity, and present some preliminary results achieved using FAST, which points to the current FAST system being highly capable of carrying out observations of IPS

We study a quantum stochastic neural network (QSNN) based on quantum stochastic walks on a graph, and use gradient descent to update the network parameters. We apply a toy model of QSNN with a few neurons to the problems of function approximation, two-dimensional data classification, and sequence classification. A simple QSNN with five neurons is trained to determine whether a sequence of words is a sentence or not, and we find that a QSNN can reduce the number of training steps. A QSNN with 11 neurons shows a quantum advantage in improving the accuracy of recognizing new types of inputs like verses. Moreover, with our toy model, we find the coherent QSNN is more robust against both label noise and device noise, compared with the decoherent QSNN. These results show that quantum stochastic walks may be a useful resource to implement a quantum neural network., Comment: 17 pages, 14 figures
