Abstract Suppressing random noise in seismic signals is an important issue in research on processing seismic data. Such data are difficult to interpret because seismic signals usually contain a large amount of random noise. While denoising can be used to reduce noise, most denoising methods require the prior estimation of the threshold of the signals to handle random noise, which makes it difficult to ensure optimal results. In this paper, we propose a wavelet threshold-based method of denoising that uses the improved chaotic fruit fly optimization algorithm. Our method of selects uses generalized cross-validation as the objective function for threshold selection. This objective function is optimized by introducing an adjustment coefficient to the chaotic fruit fly optimization algorithm, and the optimal wavelet threshold can then be obtained without any prior information. We conducted denoising tests by using synthetic seismic records and empirical seismic data acquired from the field. We added three types of noise, with different average signal-to-noise ratios, to synthetic seismograms containing noise with original intensities of − 5, − 1, and 4 dB, respectively. The results showed that after denoising, the signal-to-noise ratios of the three types of noise increased to 7.12, 10.04, and 14.26, while the mean-squared errors in the results of the proposed algorithm decreased to 0.006, 0.0031, and 0.0012, respectively.

In this study, high-throughput sequencing technology and statistical analysis were employed to explore the effects of adding green tea at proportions of 10%, 20%, and 30% on physicochemical characteristics, bacterial community diversity and succession of Daqu during fermentation compared with pure wheat Daqu (control). The results showed that the addition of green tea significantly increased the bacterial community diversity of Daqu and improved its saccharification capacity, moisture content and acidity. However, the increase in tea addition did not exhibit a proportional relationship with the community diversity. The unique evolutionary structure of the bacterial communities in different types of Daqu was found to be the major factor affecting the physicochemical characteristics of Daqu. During the fermentation process, all four Daqu exhibited differentiation in bacterial community succession starting from the thermophilic stage, thereby leading to the formation of their unique community structure at the end of the fermentation process. The phyla Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, and Actinobacteria showed varying influences on the community succession of the four Daqu samples, thus making each of them have different physicochemical characteristics. Specifically, Pseudomonas was an important bacterial genus contributing to the physicochemical characteristics of the control and 10% tea Daqu, while Weissella and Pediococcus, were important contributors to the physicochemical characteristics of the 20% tea Daqu. Bacillus was found to be a significant bacterial genus contributing to the physicochemical characteristics of the 30% tea Daqu. This study provides a theoretical basis for process optimization in the production of tea-added Daqu and for the development of multi-raw material fermentation starters. It also has implications for improving the preparation process of Daqu and the application of tea in Daqu making.

Abstract Microbial interactions can lead to different colonization outcomes of exogenous species, be they pathogenic or beneficial in nature. Predicting the colonization of exogenous species in complex communities remains a fundamental challenge in microbial ecology, mainly due to our limited knowledge of the diverse mechanisms governing microbial dynamics. Here, we propose a data-driven approach independent of any dynamics model to predict colonization outcomes of exogenous species from the baseline compositions of microbial communities. We systematically validate this approach using synthetic data, finding that machine learning models can predict not only the binary colonization outcome but also the post-invasion steady-state abundance of the invading species. Then we conduct colonization experiments for commensal gut bacteria species Enterococcus faecium and Akkermansia muciniphila in hundreds of human stool-derived in vitro microbial communities, confirming that the data-driven approaches can predict the colonization outcomes in experiments. Furthermore, we find that while most resident species are predicted to have a weak negative impact on the colonization of exogenous species, strongly interacting species could significantly alter the colonization outcomes, e.g., Enterococcus faecalis inhibits the invasion of E. faecium invasion. The presented results suggest that the data-driven approaches are powerful tools to inform the ecology and management of microbial communities.

The drivers of changes in gut microbiota under arsenic exposure and the mechanism by which microbiota affect arsenic metabolism are still unclear. Here, C57BL/6 mice were exposed to 0, 5, or 10 ppm NaAsO2 in drinking water for 6 months. The results showed that arsenic exposure induced liver injury and increased the abundance of folic acid (FA)/vitamin B12 (VB12)- and butyrate-synthesizing microbiota. Statistical analysis and in vitro cultures showed that microbiota were altered to meet the demand for FA/VB12 by arsenic metabolism and to resist the toxicity of unmetabolized arsenic. However, at higher arsenic levels, changes of these microbiota were inconsistent. A 3D molecular simulation showed that arsenic bound to methionine synthase (MTR), which was confirmed by SEC-UV-DAD (1 μM recombinant human MTR was purified with 0 or 2 μM NaAsO2 at room temperature for 1 h) and fluorescence-labeled arsenic co-localization (primary hepatocytes were exposed to 0, 0.5, or 1 μM ReAsH-EDT2 for 24 h) in non-cellular and cellular systems. Mechanistically, the arsenic-MTR interaction in the liver interferes with the utilization of FA/VB12, which increases arsenic retention and thus results in a substantial increase in the abundance of butyrate-synthesizing microbiota compared to FA/VB12-synthesizing microbiota. By exposing C57BL/6J mice to 0 or 10 ppm NaAsO2 with or without FA (6 mg/L) and VB12 (50 μg/L) supplementation in their drinking water for 6 months, we constructed an FA/VB12 intervention mouse model and found that FA/VB12 supplementation blocked the disturbance of gut microbiota, restored MTR levels, promoted arsenic metabolism, and alleviated liver injury. We demonstrate that the change of gut microbiota is a response to arsenic metabolism, a process influenced by the arsenic-MTR interaction. This study provides new insights for understanding the relationship between gut microbiota and arsenic metabolism and present therapeutic targets for arseniasis.

ObjectiveTangbi capsule (TBC) is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription, which has the potential to improve the vascular insufficiency of lower extremities and limb numbness in diabetes. However, the potential mechanism remains unknown. This study aims to investigate the pharmacological effects and mechanism of TBC on rats with diabetic lower extremities arterial disease (LEAD).MethodsThe mechanism of TBC on diabetic LEAD was investigated through metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis, and the main components of TBC were determined by mass spectrometry. The efficacy and mechanism of TBC on diabetic LEAD rats were investigated through in vitro experiments, histopathology, blood flow monitoring, western blot, and real-time polymerase chain reaction.ResultsMass spectrometry analysis identified 31 active chemical components in TBC including (2R)-2,3-Dihydroxypropanoic acid, catechin, citric acid, miquelianin, carminic acid, salicylic acid, formononetin, etc. In vitro analysis showed that TBC could reduce endothelial cell apoptosis and promote angiogenesis. Histopathological analysis showed that TBC led to an obvious improvement in diabetic LEAD as it improved fibrous tissue proliferation and reduced arterial wall thickening. In addition, TBC could significantly increase the expression levels of HIF-1α, eNOS, and VEGFA proteins and genes while reducing that of calpain-1 and TGF-β, suggesting that TBC can repair vascular injury. Compared with the model group, there were 47 differentially expressed genes in the whole blood of TBC groups, with 25 genes upregulated and 22 downregulated. Eighty-seven altered metabolites were identified from the serum samples. Combining the changes in differentially expressed genes and metabolites, we found that TBC could regulate arginine biosynthesis, phenylalanine metabolism, pyrimidine metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, pyrimidine metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, nucleotide metabolism, vitamin B6 metabolism and other metabolic pathways related to angiogenesis, immune-inflammatory response, and cell growth to improve diabetic LEAD.ConclusionTBC improved vascular endothelial injury, apoptosis, lipid accumulation, liver and kidney function, and restored blood flow in the lower extremities of diabetic LEAD rats. The mechanism of TBC in the treatment of diabetic LEAD may be related to the modulation of inflammatory immunity, lipid metabolism, and amino acid metabolism. This study presented preliminary evidence to guide the use of TBC as a therapy option for diabetic LEAD.

Abstract Broad-spectrum histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) have excellent anti-tumor effects, such as abexinostat, which was a novel oral HDACi that was widely used in clinical treatment. The purpose of this study was to establish a rapid and reliable method for the detection of abexinostat concentrations in rat plasma using ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). The mobile phase we used was acetonitrile and 0.1% formic acid, and the internal standard (IS) was givinostat. Selective reaction monitoring (SRM) was used for detection with ion transitions at m/z 397.93 → 200.19 for abexinostat and m/z 422.01 → 186.11 for givinostat, respectively. The intra-day and inter-day precision of abexinostat were less than 11.5% and the intra-day and inter-day accuracy ranged from − 10.7% to 9.7% using this method. During the analysis process, the stability of the test sample was reliable. In addition, the recovery and matrix effects of this method were within acceptable limits. Finally, the method presented in this paper enabled accurate and quick determination of abexinostat levels in rat plasma from the pharmacokinetic study following gavage at a dose of 8.0 mg/kg abexinostat.

Advanced high strength steels (AHSS) are typically loaded in a multiaxial stress state during forming process and service. However, the deformation mechanism under multiaxial loading is not clarified, which limits the optimization of sheet metal forming. In particular, due to instability, biaxial compression loading of single thin plate has not been reported, which results in unclear evolution of the yield surfaces in the second, third and fourth quadrants of σ11-σ22 space and corresponding deformation mechanisms. Therefore, the deformation mechanism of AHSS thin plates under biaxial loading was systematically investigated in the complete σ11-σ22 space using a specially designed cruciform specimen and buckling prevention fixture in the current work. The mechanical properties of dual-phase (DP780) steel under different loading paths were studied by uniaxial tension, uniaxial compression, and biaxial loading tests. There is an obvious yield strength difference between the first quadrant and the third quadrant in the σ11-σ22 space. In the second and fourth quadrants of σ11-σ22 space, the compression part makes a greater effect on the yield behavior of the material than the tension part. More specifically, dislocation slip is activated earlier at the boundary under compression loading, resulting in earlier yielding of the material. Based on the analysis of the Taylor factor, the activation of slip systems of DP780 steel before and after deformation is clarified. In addition, a detailed analysis of the microstructure and texture evolution in DP780 steel after deformation is conducted, and a correlation between texture evolution and loading paths is established. It is found that the compression part under biaxial loading results in more grains with low Taylor factor and promotes the transformation of the initial texture to copper or rotated copper texture in DP780 steel.

Twinning is a significant deformation mode in zirconium (Zr). Here we investigated the primary displacement cascades near the twin boundary (TB) and mechanical properties in Zr using molecular dynamics simulations. The results show that {10 1‾2} and {10 1‾1} TBs can act as an effective sink for point defects to enhance irradiation resistance in Zr. The {10 1‾2} TB exhibits better sink efficiency than {10 1‾1} TB. Hence, it's recommended to employ Zr alloys with more {10 1‾2} deformation twinning microstructure in irradiation conditions. The present work predicts the introduction of TBs may contribute to a decrease in the density of large-sized clusters and clustered fraction. Further, irradiation leads to localized deformation of the two TBs even in one single collision cascade. The tensile loading of the unirradiated and irradiated samples indicates that the stacking faults serve as an important deformation mechanism in two TB models. The results not only present a reference for understanding the TB structure in the displacement cascades of Zr and its alloys but also provide further support for the design of irradiation-resistant nanotwinned metals.

Objective: To investigate the factors affecting the hygroscopicity of Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide and to develop moisture-resistant intermediate tablets. Methods: The contents of polysaccharide, protein and fructose in Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide powder and the indicators characterizing the properties of Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide powder, such as median diameter D50, distribution span, specific surface area, angle of repose, bulk density and tap density were used as the research objects to determine the most critical factors affecting the hygroscopicity of Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide by stepwise regression method. The prepare tablet method was used to reduce the specific surface area based on the results of the stepwise regression method. In addition, the effects of tablet diameter, diluent and lubricant on the angle of repose, moisture absorption rate, hardness and fragility were investigated through single-factor experiments. On this basis, moisture-resistant intermediate tablets of Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide were formulated using the Box-Behnken design-response surface method. The tablet's equilibrium moisture absorption rate and critical relative humidity were simultaneously determined and compared to Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide powder. Results: The results of stepwise regression indicated that the specific surface area, bulk density, and content of protein, fructose, and other impurities in Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide powder had significant effects on the powder's moisture absorption, with the specific surface area factor coefficient being the largest. The composition of the moisture-resistant intermediate tablets of Polygonatum odoratum was as follows: Lactose 17.00%, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) 17.00% and magnesium stearate 0.80%. Compared to Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide powder, the equilibrium moisture absorption rate decreased from 22.25% to 11.03%, and the critical relative humidity increased from 48.40% to 75.00%. Conclusion: Specific surface area was the main factor of moisture absorption of Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide. Preparing Polygonatum odoratum polysaccharide powder into a moisture-resistant intermediate tablet could decrease its specific surface area, thereby reduce its hygroscopicity.

The Cucumber Productivity Simulation Model (CPSM) was developed to precisely predict the dynamic process of cucumber productivity in a solar greenhouse. This research conducted a variety of sowing experiments and collected data on cucumber productivity and meteorological conditions from 2013 to 2015 and 2018 to 2020. Employing the principles of least squares, the relationship between cucumber productivity indicators and effective accumulated temperature (EAT) was fitted, determining key crop parameters and constructing the CPSM. Validation of the model was conducted using independent experimental data, evaluating its simulation accuracy. The results indicate that (1) CPSM can dynamically and meticulously simulate the formation process of different productivity indicators in cucumber. Normalized root mean square errors (NRMSE) ranged from 0.44% to 19.64%, and mean relative errors (MRE) ranged from 0.31% to 17.23% across different productivity indicator models. The models for organ water content, maximum root length, specific leaf area, and organ fresh weight distribution index demonstrated high simulation accuracy, while others showed relatively high accuracy. (2) Simulation accuracy varied with indicators and varieties. 19 indicators (34.55%) exhibited high simulation accuracy and 30 indicators (54.55%) showed relatively high accuracy. The JY35 variety (10.44 ± 8.49%) outperformed the JS206 variety (13.44 ± 8.50%) in terms of simulation accuracy. The JY35 variety had 39 superior productivity indicators (70.91%) while the JS206 variety had sixteen (29.09%). CPSM utilizes easily accessible temperature data as its input, allowing for precise and detailed simulation of productivity indicators for cucumber production in solar greenhouses. This research lays a theoretical foundation and provides technical support for guiding intelligent production management, efficient utilization of agricultural resources, and climate change productivity assessment in solar greenhouse cucumber production.

To investigate the influence of different rhenium contents on the helium desorption behavior in tungsten–rhenium alloys, pure tungsten and tungsten–rhenium alloys were irradiated with helium under the same conditions. All irradiated samples were characterized using TDS and DBS techniques. The results indicate that the addition of rhenium can reduce the total helium desorption quantity in tungsten–rhenium alloys and slightly accelerate the reduction in the concentration of vacancy-type defects accompanying helium dissociation. The desorption activation energy of helium is approximately 2 eV at the low-temperature peak (~785 K) and about 4 eV at the high-temperature peak (~1475 K). An increase in rhenium content causes the desorption peak to shift towards higher temperatures (>1473 K), which is attributed to the formation of the stable complex structures between rhenium and vacancies. Besides, the migration of He-vacancy complexes towards traps and dynamic annealing processes both lead to the recovery of vacancy-type defects, resulting in a decrease in the positron annihilation S parameters.

Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) swarm to deal with emergencies is an efficient handling mode. In order to establish a comprehensive security prevention and control system from the ground to the air, from the plane to the three-dimensional, the UAV swarm emergency response system model for emergencies is built by using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework(DoDAF), and the system structure, task activities, organizational relationships, ability indicators and other models of the system are established based on the task requirements. With AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)and fuzzy synthetic evaluation method, the capability requirements are analyzes combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The analysis provides support and research perspectives for the application requirements and demonstration for UAV emergency warfare.

Background Immunotherapy-related endocrine adverse reactions are relatively common, which often lead to serious outcomes if not treated in time. However, the incidence of immunotherapy-related endocrine adverse reactions varies widely in previous literature reports without standard processing. Objective To investigate the occurrence and treatment process of endocrinologic adverse reactions caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in the real world. Methods The clinical data of 204 patients with solid tumors treated with ICIs at the Third People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from January 2019 to March 2022 was retrospectively analyzed, the endocrinologic adverse reactions occured their treatment were observed and standardized management was conducted according to the adverse reactions grading. Results A total of 204 patients with solid tumors were included, involving 139 male patients and 65 female patients, with a median age of 65.4 (8.0, 88.4) years. The types of solid tumor were predominantly non-small cell lung cancer (43.1%) , the treatment drugs were mainly sindilizumab (47.1%) , and the treatment patterns were predominantly immunotherapy combined with targeted agents (57.4%) . 12 patients developed ICIs-related endocrinologic adverse reactions, including 9 cases (4.4%) of hypothyroidism (1 case of gradeⅠ, 7 cases of grade Ⅱ, 1 case of grade Ⅲ) with the median onset time of 7 (6, 10) weeks after the treatment of immunological drugs, 1 case (0.5%) of hyperthyroidism (gradeⅠ) occurred 9 weeks after the immunotherapy, 1 case (0.5%) of type 1 diabetes (gradeⅣ) occurred 6 weeks after auto-immunotherapy, 1 case (0.5%) of adrenal dysfunction (gradeⅢ) occurred 7 weeks after immunotherapy. All the 12 patients with endocrinologic adverse reactions were treated in time according to the hierarchical management process, and all their symptoms were improved or returned to normal, and continued to be treated with ICIs. Conclusion The risk of endocrinologic adverse reactions in the endocrine system is relatively high during the use of ICIs, especially abnormal thyroid function, which requires regular detection of endocrine indicators during treatment, timely intervention will not affect the subsequent treatment of ICIs.

The alloy element Nb plays an important role in improving the performance of zirconium alloys in nuclear reactors. The effect mechanism of Nb doping on mechanical and thermodynamic properties was investigated using experimental and theoretical methods. The results of this study showed us that Nb doping refines grains and enhances hardness. The hardness increases from 2.67 GPa of pure Zr to 2.99 GPa of Zr1.5Nb. Depending on the first-principles calculations, the hardness decreases with the increase in the Nb concentration in the Zr matrix, namely from 2.45 Gpa of pure Zr to 1.78 GPa of Zr1.5Nb. If the first-principles calculations indicate that the hardness decreases with the increase in the Nb concentration in the Zr matrix, grain refinement or defects could play a major role in the increase in hardness. Furthermore, regarding the effect of Nb doping on thermal expansion coefficients, the increase in Nb content causes the thermal expansion coefficients to decrease, which might stem from the strong binding energy between Nb and Zr atoms. The thermal conductivities of three samples show similar changing trends, indicating that thermal conductivity begins to decrease at room temperature and reaches a minimum value of around 400 °C. The thermal conductivity of pure zirconium samples is consistently higher, is more obvious than that of Nb-doped samples in the test range, and decreases with an increase in the doping concentration. The possible reasons for this might stem from the distortion of the Zr matrix due to Nb substitution doping and grain refinement, both of which cause phonon propagation scattering and thus hinder the propagation of phonons. The results obtained herein may be useful for the development of advanced nuclear fuels and waste forms that utilize zirconium in applications beyond their current usage.

Background: Obesity, a chronic metabolic disorder, is related to cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and reproductive disorders. The relationship between obesity and male infertility is now well recognized, but the mechanisms involved are unclear. We aimed to observe the effect of obesity on spermatogenesis and to investigate the role of histone ubiquitination and acetylation modifications in obesity-induced spermatogenesis disorders. Methods: Thirty male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was fed with a general maintenance diet (12% fat), while a high-fat diet (HFD) group was fed with 40% fat for 10 weeks; then, they were mated with normal females. The fertility of male mice was calculated, testicular and sperm morphology were observed, and the expression levels of key genes and the levels of histone acetylation and ubiquitination modification during spermatogenesis were detected. Results: The number of sperm was decreased, as well as the sperm motility, while the number of sperm with malformations was increased. In the testes, the mRNA and protein expression levels of gonadotropin-regulated testicular RNA helicase (GRTH/DDX25), chromosome region maintenance-1 protein (CRM1), high-mobility group B2 (HMGB2), phosphoglycerate kinase 2 (PGK2), and testicular angiotensin-converting enzyme (tACE) were decreased. Furthermore, obesity led to a decrease in ubiquitinated H2A (ubH2A) and reduced levels of histone H3 acetylation K18 (H3AcK18) and histone H4 acetylation K5, K8, K12, and K16 (H4tetraAck), which disrupted protamine 1 (Prm1) deposition in testis tissue. Conclusion: These results suggest that low levels of histone ubiquitination and acetylation are linked with obesity-induced disorders during spermatogenesis, contributing to a better understanding of obesity-induced damage to male reproduction.

Plant phenology is essential for projecting changes in the ecosystem including growing seasons, plant communities and carbon storage. However, it is still unclear how the start of growing season (SOS) of tropical plants responds to climate change. This study examined SOS of natural rubber (NR) which grows in tropical areas using long-term satellite solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) data and nineteen monthly climate factors. “Phenofit” (a R package), Pearson correlation coefficient, random forest and structural equation modeling were used to extract SOS and find the relationship between SOS and climate factors at landscape scale. SOS mainly occurred during 53.3–69.9 day of the year, with a slight yet non-significant delaying trend (about 0.2 d/y) across more than 76% of the study area over 2001–2021. The sunshine duration (Sund), ground temperature at 20 cm depth and evaporation in June last year (pre-June) were the three climate drivers with substantial effects on SOS. Co-adsorption of multi-components in ZrCo-based hydrogen storage materials can lead to a number of synergistic effects, such as the modification of adsorption sites, and further worsen the hydrogen storage capability. In this work, we explore the co-adsorption of H and CO on the ZrCo(110) surface and find that the molecular CO can be adsorbed on the clean alloy surface and thus decrease the hydrogen storage ability of the alloy. Moreover, CO occupies the adsorption site of H and therefore prevents the adsorption and diffusion into the interior of the lattice. Fortunately, the Hf dopant reduces the number of adsorption sites of the CO molecule and inhibits the formation of carbides to a certain extent. In addition, the partial density of states (PDOS) result shows that there is almost no interaction between the s orbital of H and the s orbital of Co on the pure surface of pre-adsorbed CO, while on the Hf-doped surface of pre-adsorbed CO, the s orbital of H overlapped greatly with the s orbital of Co, indicating that Hf doping inhibits CO toxicity in the interaction between H and the surface. Hence, the doping of Hf has the effect of giving resistance to CO toxicity and is conducive to the adsorption of H.

In a fusion environment, tungsten, a plasma-facing material in a reactor, is subject to the irradiation of high-energy neutrons, generating a large amount of displacement damage and transmutation products (such as rhenium, Re). We studied the evolution of defects under irradiation in W and W-Re systems using the density functional theory (DFT) and rate theory (RT) method. The results indicate that the evolution of irradiation defects is mainly affected by the irradiation dose, dose rate, and temperature. During irradiation, loops form first in W, followed by the generation of voids, which are due to the different migration energies of point defects. Higher dose rates result in a higher density and larger size of defects in tungsten. Higher temperatures cause a decrease in void density and an increase in size. The results obtained at 600 °C were in good agreement with the reported TEM data. In W-Re alloys, it is indicated that the formation of loops is delayed because Re suppresses the nucleation of loops. The dynamic introduction of Re in W stabilizes the growth of defects compared to W-Re alloys, suggesting that transmuting elements have less detrimental effects on irradiation than alloying. As defect densities and sizes were quantified under different irradiation conditions, the results provide data for the multi-scale simulation of the radiation damage and thermal/mechanical properties in plasma-facing materials under fusion conditions.

The electromagnetic interference (EMI) from pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) on pacemakers is unignorable in modern power grids and healthcare environments, but there is limited study on the interaction mechanisms and protective measures. In this paper, an in-vitro human chest model for pacemaker implantation is made by using pork tissues immersed in 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The effect of PEMFs generated by the switching actions of common electrical equipment and low-frequency medical equipment on pacemakers is simulated by using fast-front current sources. The pulse forming line theory is employed for analyzing the waveform compression of PEMFs in human thoracic cavity. Further, the parameterized bio-electromagnetic transient model of pacemaker in combination with biological tissues is established in finite element software. The results show that pacemaker malfunctions including pacing inhibition and P pulmonale occur under PEMF. The “Window effect” in subcutaneous pouch under PEMF is found by changing the winding of pacemaker leads in the pouch. Based on the research finding, a protective strategy by using composite materials to shield the window area is proposed. The theoretical feasibility of this protective measure is confirmed by simulation, where the intensity of pacemaker EMI could be reduced by 80 dB when the composite materials shielding is used. Finally, a safe distance is developed for pacemaker wearers in electrical and medical environments.

Extreme heavy precipitation in the Yellow River basin mainly occurred between June and August in summer. It is of great significance for improving climate prediction and preventing and reducing disaster events to study the characteristics of synoptic conditions of extreme heavy precipitation in summer in this basin. Using the daily precipitation data in summer at the 247 ground-based meteorological stations in the Yellow River basin from 1961 to 2017, we first analyze the distribution characteristics of regional extreme heavy precipitation events in this basin. Second,according to the dominant circulation systems at 500 hPa,the typical circulation patterns affecting regional extreme heavy precipitation in summer in this basin are classified into the blocking type,the low-trough type,and the typhoon-peripheral type. The characteristics of extreme heavy precipitation,water vapor transport and evolution,and circulation under the blocking type and low-trough type of synoptic conditions before the events are analyzed. The results show that (1) the thresholds of extreme heavy precipitation in summer in the Yellow River basin gradually increase from the east to the west and from the north to the south during past 57 years. The frequency of extreme heavy precipitation in the upstream area is higher than that in other areas. (2) The distribution characteristics of zonal wind anomalies at 200 hPa are similar for the blocking-type and low-trough type synoptic conditions,whose anomalies show a "- + -" pattern in the range of 20°-55°N from the north to the south. Their circulation patterns at 500 hPa vary greatly,with the low-trough type dominated by the zonal circulation and the blocking type dominated by the meridional circulation in the mid- and high- latitudes of Eurasia. The former has many small troughs and ridges in the range of 30°-65°N,while the latter is controlled by positive geopotential height anomalies in the low latitudes. (3) The water vapor of blocking-type synoptic condition mainly comes from the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean,while that of the low-trough type mainly comes from the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea. (4) The blocking high that causes extreme heavy precipitation mainly develops locally,and the signal of its development can be captured 1-2 weeks before its occurrence. The trough that causes extreme heavy precipitation mainly moves,and its initial signal and strong signal appear about 7 d and 2-3 d before the occurrence of extreme heavy precipitation,respectively.
