Recently, two-dimensional tungsten diselenide (WSe2) has attracted extensive attention due to their unique properties, exhibiting excellent properties in electronics, optoelectronics, and valleytronics. However, the limited light absorption efficiency of monolayer WSe2 severely hinders its practical applications. To address this challenge, vertical Te-WSe2 heterojunctions consisting of Te nanomesh and monolayer WSe2 nanofilm have been prepared using the two-step vapor deposition method, which significantly enhances the optoelectronic performance. Te-WSe2 heterojunction photodetector exhibits a high responsivity of 1.3 A/W and a specific detectivity of 1 × 1010 Jones under the irradiation of 460 nm light source. This study demonstrates the controllable fabrication of large-scale of Te-WSe2 vertical heterojunctions. The underlying mechanism for the performance enhancement of Te-WSe2 heterojunction photodetector was elucidated based on the Ohm-like type-I band-aligned structure. The research can be further extended to other Te-based mixed-dimensional heterojunctions, providing valuable theoretical and experimental support for the application of next-generation integrated optoelectronic devices. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most malignant tumors worldwide and HCC patients often develop drug resisitene. Long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are closely related to cell cycle, growth, development, differentiation, and apoptosis. Abnormally expressed lncRNAs have been proved to mediate drug resistance in tumor cells. However, the effect of LIMT on drug resistance has not been explored in HCC. In this study, we explored the effect of long non-coding RNA LIMT on drug resistance and its underlying mechanism in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Our results showed that LncRNA LINC01089 (LIMT) expression is downregulated in 78.57% (44/56) of 56 HCC tumor tissue samples. LIMT expression is also downregulated in HCC cells compared with that in normal liver LO2 cells. Inhibition of LIMT increases the resistance to sorafenib and promotes cell invasion via regulation of epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) in HCC. StarBase V3.0 was used to predict the potential binding site of miR-665 in LIMT. Furthermore, miR-665 participates in sorafenib resistance and also regulates the level of EMT-related proteins in HCC cells. A rescue experiment demonstrated that silencing of LIMT eliminats the inhibitory effect of the miR-665 inhibitor on sorafenib resistance in HCC cells. Taken together, our findings revealed that downregulation of LIMT increases the resistance of HCC to sorafenib via miR-665 and EMT. Therefore, LIMT, which serves as a therapeutically effective target, will provide new hope for the treatment of HCC.

BACKGROUND: Asthma is a major public health concern due to its persistent inflammation of the airways. The intricate and widely variable epidemiology of asthma among nations and populations is a result of the interplay between genetic, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to investigate whether VitD supplementation can reduce the frequency of exacerbations (including the frequency of exacerbations requiring systemic corticosteroids and the frequency of exacerbations necessitating trips to the hospital or emergency room, or both) and improve pulmonary function (clinical indicators such as the FEV1% predicted value). METHODS: Computers were used to search Pubmed, Medline, ISI Web of Science, Embase, Cachrane Library, CNKI, CBM, VIP, and the Wanfang Database. Asthma/asthma, VitD/VitD, lung function/lung function, retrieval time is from database setup to October 8, 2021, to search all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the effect of VitD on human asthma and to retroactively incorporate references to literature were all included in the search criteria. After rigorous screening, quality evaluation, and data extraction of the included literature by two reviewers independently, heterogeneity tests and sensitivity analyses were performed. RESULTS: The findings show that a total of 12 relevant studies meeting the inclusion criteria were finally included, including 649 cases in the experimental group and 646 cases in the control group. VitD intervention reduced the number of asthma exacerbations, including the rate of exacerbations requiring systemic corticosteroid therapy and the rate of acute exacerbations requiring emergency department or hospital visits or both. CONCLUSIONS: In the outcome of lung function (FEV1% predicted value), it was shown that VitD supplementation improved lung function; in the outcome of serum 25-hydroxyVitD levels, it was shown that VitD supplementation increased serum 25-hydroxyVitD levels. Elaeagnus angustifolia L. is a highly adaptable urban ornamental plant, playing a key role in dry land and saline-alkali protective forests. The diverse geographical and climatic conditions in Gansu Province have resulted in variations in its distribution and growth. This study assesses the phenotypic diversity of fruits and seeds, and the seed germination characteristics of 82 E. angustifolia plants from nine populations in Gansu Province, exploring their relationship with geographical and climatic factors. We measured 12 phenotypic traits and five germination indices. This study included germination tests under standard conditions, statistical analysis of phenotypic differences, and Pearson and Spearman correlation analyses to examine relationships between traits and geo-climatic factors. Principal component and cluster analyses were also performed to identify key traits and classify populations. The findings were as follows: (1) Significant differences were observed in phenotypic traits and germination characteristics among populations. Single fruit weight showed the highest variation (27.56%), while seed transverse diameter had the lowest (8.76%). The Lanzhou population exhibited the greatest variability (14.27%), while Linze had the lowest (6.29%). (2) A gradient change pattern in traits was observed, primarily influenced by longitude and a combination of geographical and climatic factors. Seed germination was positively correlated with altitude, annual precipitation, and relative humidity, but negatively affected by latitude and traits such as fruit weight. (3) Principal component analysis identified germination rate, germination index, seed shape index, and fruit shape index as primary factors, contributing 27.4%, 20.6%, and 19.9% to the variation, respectively. Cluster analysis grouped the 82 plants into four clusters, not strictly based on geographical distance, suggesting influence from factors such as genotype or environmental conditions. In conclusion, this study lays a foundation for understanding the genetic mechanisms behind the phenotypic diversity and germination characteristics of E. angustifolia. It offers insights into how geo-climatic factors influence these traits, providing valuable information for the species' conservation, cultivation, and management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
