Abstract

Solid phosphotungstate nanospheres PW12/CeF3:Tb3+ have been successfully synthesized using chemical precipitation method by introducing CeF3:Tb3+ nanocrystals as dopants. This material exhibits multi-emission in the photoluminescence spectrum, with peaks centered at 467, 489, 542, 585, and 622 nm, corresponding to the [PW12O40]3– polyanions and Tb3+ ions-related fluorescence, respectively. Moreover, the emission of CeF3 is disappeared, indicating the establishment of energy transfer system. It is worth pointing out that these fluorescent phenomena are rarely found in polyoxometalates-based nanomaterials. Thus, this method demonstrated in this work could provide a potential strategy to obtain multi-emissive polyoxometalates-based nanomaterials for fluorescent chemical sensors, bioimaging, or optoelectronic devices. Abstract

The transparent glass-ceramics doped by Cr/sup 3+/ were prepared in the system of ZnO-B/sub 2/O/sub 3/-Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/-SiO/sub 2/. The absorption and emission spectra of Cr/sup 3+/ were measured and studied respectively. The absolute luminescence quantum efficiency of 0.378 and scattering coefficient of 0.03 cm/sup -1/ were obtained.
