Producción Científica, The textile industry generates millions of tons of waste annually, making this sector one of the most polluting in the world. The objective of this research was to study the energy potential of three industrial textile wastes of vegetable and animal origin: CW (card waste), SFW (short fibre waste) and W (wool), using conventional and flash pyrolysis at 500 °C and 750 °C. CW and SFW thermogravimetric profiles were very different from W. In general, the bio-oil yield was higher in the conventional and in the low-temperature flash pyrolysis (up to 55 %). The gas obtained by flash pyrolysis at 750 °C has higher flue gas content and lower CO2 content so their high heating value (HHV) is higher (up to 15.34 MJ/kg). Bio-oils obtained by flash pyrolysis at high temperature stood out for their higher HHV (>30 MJ/kg), with the highest value (34.15 MJ/kg) obtained from SFW waste. Both low temperature flash pyrolysis and conventional pyrolysis produce bio-oils that contain aromatic (35–48 %) and non-aromatic (18–34 %) organic compounds. Additionally, they have high levels of phenols and benzenes. High-temperature flash pyrolysis bio-oils are mainly composed of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. 8 pages, 4 figures, 4 tables, General equilibrium analysis shows that regulation based on caps on working hours per vessel affects the entry/exit margin (more low productivity vessels stay in the fishery), wages (a less productive fleet implies lower equilibrium wages) and aggregate employment allocated to the sector. Although the total number of vessels increases, in a general equilibrium setting, total employment in the fishery is reduced and the aggregate rents generated in the fishery are lower. Moreover, regulatory policies based on input controls also affect capital dynamics across the stock recovery phases. In comparison with a fishery regulated via efficient instruments, we find that those dynamics are characterized by fewer exits of vessels. A case of encephalitis Staphylococcus aureusmethicillin sensitive is presented. This is a female patient of 20 years old, who was treated at ColombianFoundation Center for Epilepsy and Neurological Diseases, in Cartagena. Her symptoms were headaches, progressive deterioration of cognitive status, and sudden neurological deficit with limitation on the issuance of language. CSF culture findings reveal growth of S. aureusmethicillin sensitive. The evolution of this patient was satisfactory. A review of the case is made, analysis infrequency of encephalitis is carried by Staphylococcus aureus methicillin sensitive in primary, focus of infection established.

Macroscopic intrabiliary growth of liver metastases from colonic adenocarcinoma mimicking cholangiocarcinoma, a pattern of intrahepatic spread easily confused with primary neoplasia of the biliary tract, is extremely infrequent. Resection of liver metastases has a better prognosis than that of primary neoplasia of the biliary tract. We report a case of metastasis from adenocarcinoma of the colon that presented as a Klatskin tumor. The definitive diagnosis was established by immunostaining.

Resumen La duodenopancreatectomia cefalica (tecnica de Whipple) ha sido el tratamiento de referencia en lesiones benignas y malignas de la region periampular y de la cabeza del pancreas. El refinamiento de las tecnicas anestesicoquirurgicas ha conseguido disminuir su mortalidad, y en cambio la morbilidad ha permanecido elevada, ligada en gran medida a la fistula o la rotura de la anastomosis pancreatointestinal. Describimos una modificacion tecnica de la invaginacion pancreatoyeyunal con anastomosis en doble corona realizada en 17 pacientes, sin que ninguno de ellos desarrollara fistula pancreatica. Consideramos que esta es una tecnica simple, segura y eficiente.

Case Report Patient is a 30 year old male, with no significant past medical history, who was attending an outdoor party in a wooded area of New Jersey two weeks prior to this hospital admission. Three days following the party, patient noted several papules on his lateral left calf with surrounding erythema. The following day he went to the emergency department and was diagnosed with bacterial cellulitis (Figure 1).
