Recent advances in visible-light-promoted construction of tetrahydroquinolines from dimethylanilines and maleimides are documented. Homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalytic systems, as well as the reaction mechanism, are emphasized. The mechanism of this photocatalytic annulation reaction is quite clear, i.e., dimethylanilines and maleimides serve as the radical precursors and radical acceptors, respectively. This annulation reaction could serve as an excellent platform for evaluating novel oxidative heterogeneous photocatalytic systems, which could further inspire chemists in this field to develop more efficient photocatalytic systems. Alkyl diacyl peroxides were demonstrated to be efficient alkylating reagents for the visible-light-induced 4CzIPN-catalyzed direct C–H alkylation of N-heteroaromatics. With this metal-/base-/additive-free photocatalytic system, 57 examples of alkylated N-heteroaromatics scaffolds including 1,2,4-triazine-3,5(2H,4H)-diones (i.e. azauracils), quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones, 2H-benzo[b][1,4]oxazin-2-ones and quinoxalines were successfully synthesized. Condition-controlled switchable and divergent transformations of cost-effective 2-bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (BTP) and aldehydes were realized using a decatungstate (TBADT)-photocatalyzed strategy. The hydroacylated products, i.e., β,β-Br,CF 3 -ketones, can be applied as highly functionalized synthetic building blocks for the selective synthesis of ( Z / E )-β-CF 3 -enones. Utilizing this methodology, a broad range of commercially available aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes as well as numerous complex aldehydes, such as lily aldehyde, cyclamen aldehyde, citronellal, vanillin, and aldehydes containing bioactive moieties, including ibuprofen, gemfibrozil, naproxen, flurbiprofen, oleic acid, and aspirin, may be proficiently employed in this transformative process.

The quantum yield and fluorescence intensity of gold nanocluster (AuNC) nanocarriers are critical parameters for developing ultrasensitive biosensors. In this study, AuNCs-zeolitic-imidazolate-framework (Au-ZIF) nanocomposites are systematically constructed by impregnating AuNCs onto the ZIF-8 surface through a coordination-dissociation mechanism, resulting in a dual-site fluorescence-loaded structure. In this configuration, AuNCs are anchored to the external surface while the integrity of the inner cavity remains intact. The surface of ZIF-8 induces a confinement effect on the configuration and electrons of AuNCs, significantly enhancing luminescence (18-fold increase). The quantum yield of AuNCs exhibits an increase of more than 13-fold, from 2.80% to 38.1%. This approach demonstrates broad applicability and maintains strong fluorescence across different ZIFs. Additionally, a novel nanocomposite, Au-ZIF@carbon-dots (CDs), is synthesized by encapsulating CDs into the inner cavity of Au-ZIF. A ratiometric fluorescence detection platform is subsequently developed and incorporated into hydrogels for the quantitative detection of the pesticide triazophos. By employing an image-processing algorithm, quantitative detection is achieved with a detection limit of 0.07 ng mL⁻ 1 . The findings provide crucial insights into the relationship between the assembly and performance of AuNCs and ZIFs, offering guidance for designing ultrasensitive multifunctional biosensors applicable in the field of biosensing., (© 2024 The Author(s). Objective: Research indicates that cognitive control is compromised in individuals with internet gaming disorder (IGD). However, the neural mechanisms behind it are still unclear. This study aims to investigate alterations in resting-state brain networks in adolescents with IGD and the potential neurobiological mechanisms underlying cognitive dysfunction., Materials and Methods: A total of 44 adolescent IGD subjects (male/female: 38/6) and 50 healthy controls (male/female: 40/10) were enrolled. Participants underwent demographic assessments, Young's Internet Addiction Scale, Barratt Impulsiveness Scale 11 Chinese Revised Version, the Chinese Adolescents' Maladaptive Cognitions Scale, exploratory eye movement tests, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). FMRI data were analyzed using the GIFT software for independent component analysis, focusing on functional connectivity within and between resting-state brain networks., Results: In comparison to the control group, impulsivity in adolescent IGD subjects showed a positive correlation with the severity of IGD (r=0.6350, p < 0.001), linked to impairments in the Executive Control Network (ECN) and a decrease in functional connectivity between the Salience Network (SN) and ECN (r=0.4307, p=0.0021; r=-0.5147, p=0.0034). Decreased resting state activity of the dorsal attention network (DAN) was associated with attentional dysregulation of IGD in adolescents (r=0.4071, p=0.0017), and ECN increased functional connectivity with DAN. The degree of IGD was positively correlated with enhanced functional connectivity between the ECN and DAN (r=0.4283, p=0.0037)., Conclusions: This research demonstrates that changes in the ECN and DAN correlate with heightened impulsivity and attentional deficits in adolescents with IGD. We reported a general transition metal-free transformation to access C3-carbamoylated 2 H -indazoles via visible light-induced oxidative decarboxylation coupling, in the presence of oxamic acids as the coupling sources, 4CzIPN as the photocatalyst, and Cs 2 CO 3 as the base.
