Abstract

The article explores the feasibility of discriminating different types of bacterial growth medium with the help of portable Raman spectrometer with background fluorescence subtraction. The study analyzed four different types of media including LB-Miller broth, brain heart infusion (BHI) broth, tryptic soy broth (TSB) and brain heart infusion-cysteine (BHIc) broth. The results suggest that the spectrometer can also be used to differentiate cultured bacteria with a reference library.
