Lysidice rhodostegia is a kind of evergreen tall arbor, belonging to Lysidice, Caesalpiniaceae. Because of luxuriant branches and leaves, beautiful flowers and bright colors, it has a certain greening effect and ornamental value. Moreover, the researchers also find that L. rhodostegia has rich medicinal effects that have not been developed yet. In this paper, the morphological characteristics, ecological habits, geographical distribution and main functions of L. rhodostegia are briefly described. Then, conventional planting technology of L. rhodostegia is analyzed, and the optimization strategy of planting and cultivation technology of L. rhodostegia is put forward. Finally, some prospects for the future development of L. rhodostegia industry is proposed. Lysidrhodosides A–I (1 – 9), nine acylphloroglucinol glucoside derivatives along with three known analogues (10 − 12) were isolated from the leaves of Lysidice rhodostegia. Their structures and absolute configuration were elucidated by spectroscopic data analysis (NMR, UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS), single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and acid hydrolysis with HPLC analysis. Notably, compounds 7 – 9 represent the first examples of 3-methylbutyryl phloroglucinol glucoside dimers isolated from this plant. Additionally, compounds 1 – 12 were assessed for their inhibitory effects on nitric oxide (NO) in the LPS-induced BV-2 cells. The results showed that compounds 6 and 12 significantly inhibited the production of the inflammatory mediator NO, with an inhibitory rate of 95.96 and 91.13% at a concentration of 50 μM, respectively. • Three new phenolic glycosides were isolated from Lysidice rhodostegia. • All structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. • The study on chemical constituents of Lysidice rhodostegia was further improved. One new coumarin glycoside, lysidiforin A (1), and two new phloroglucinol glycosides, lysidiforin B–C (2 and 3), along with six known compounds (4–9) were isolated from the roots of Lysidice rhodostegia. The structures of compounds 1–3 were elucidated by the interpretation of extensive spectroscopic analyses (1D and 2D NMR, ESI-MS and HR-ESI-MS). All of the isolated compounds were evaluated regarding their antioxidant activities with a DPPH radical scavenging bioassay. Compounds 6–9 exhibited weak activities. Abstract: Four new acylphloroglucinols, lysidicins I and J (1 and 2), and lysidisides V and W (3 and 4), were isolated from the roots of Lysidice rhodostegia. Among them, compound 1 is a novel acylphloroglucinol, and compound 2 is the first naturally occurring acylphloroglucinol derivative with an uncommon spiro(benzofuran-[2H]pyran) skeleton. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical methods. The absolute configuration of 1 was assigned by employing dimolybdenum tetraacetate-induced CD spectrum method, and that of 2 was determined by analysis of their experimental and theoretically calculated CD spectra. A novel flavonoid named mopanolchin (1), together with seven known flavonoids, was isolated by various chromatographic techniques and spectroscopic methods from the EtOAc extract of the roots of Lysidice rhodostegia Hance. The structure of the new compound was elucidated as 1″-(4-hydroxy-3, 5-dimethoxy)phenyl-2″-hydroxymethyl-dioxino [4′, 5′,1″, 2″]mopanol (1) on the basis of spectral analysis. The known compounds were identified as (-)-epicatechin-3-O-gallate (2), epicatechin (3), naringenin (4), eriodictyol (5), luteolin (6), 7, 3′, 4′-trihydroxyflavone (7) and (-)-robinetinidol (8). Eight new stilbene dimer xylosides (1 – 8) and one new flavanol (9), along with seven known ones (10 – 16) were isolated from the roots of Lysidice rhodostegia. Their structures were elucidated by extensive analysis of spectroscopic data (IR, UV, HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR), ECD calculations and acid hydrolysis. Compounds 1 – 16 were evaluated for their antioxidant activities using DPPH radical-scavenging assay.
