In French-speaking Switzerland, sexuality education for children with special educational needs is unevenly developed in childcare institutions and schools. This limited access to sexuality education and the failure to take into account their sexual development are forms of discrimination against them. Sexuality is an integral part of the global health. Health professionals can contribute to the implementation of the right to sexuality education for children with special educational needs by considering consultations as opportunities for sexuality education according to their needs. Anatomical changes during proton therapy require rapid treatment plan adaption to mitigate the associated dosimetric impact. This in turn requires a highly efficient workflow that minimizes the time between imaging and delivery. At the Paul Scherrer Institute, we have developed an online adaptive workflow, which is specifically designed for treatments in the skull-base/cranium, with the focus set on simplicity and minimizing changes to the conventional workflow. The dosimetric and timing performance of this daily adaptive proton therapy (DAPT) workflow has been experimentally investigated using an in-house developed DAPT software and specifically developed anthropomorphic phantom. After a standard treatment preparation, which includes the generation of a template plan, the treatment can then be adapted each day, based on daily imaging acquired on an in-room CT. The template structures are then rigidly propagated to this CT and the daily plan is fully re-optimized using the same field arrangement, DVH constraints and optimization settings of the template plan. After a dedicated plan QA, the daily plan is delivered. To minimize the time between imaging and delivery, clinically integrated software for efficient execution of all online adaption steps, as well as tools for comprehensive and automated QA checks, have been developed. Film measurements of an end-to-end validation of a multi-fraction DAPT treatment showed high agreement to the calculated doses. Gamma pass rates with a 3%/3 mm criteria were >92% when comparing the measured dose to the template plan. Additionally, a gamma pass rate >99% was found comparing measurements to the Monte Carlo dose of the daily plans reconstructed from the logfile, accumulated over the delivered fractions. With this, we experimentally demonstrate that the described adaptive workflow can be delivered accurately in a timescale similar to a standard delivery., (Creative Commons Attribution license.)

Secondary traumatic stress ( STS ) is a syndrome including intrusion, avoidance, and arousal due to indirect trauma exposure (e.g., by caring for traumatized patients in a professional context or transgenerational transmission of trauma in familial or cultural systems). Bride et al. (1) developed the Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale ( STSS ), designed to measure these reactions of helping professionals who have experienced traumatic stress through their work with their traumatized clients. This study aimed to validate the French version of the STSS ( STSS-F ) by evaluating factorial and criterion validity. Furthermore, its reliability and other psychometric properties were evaluated. Two-hundred-and-twenty midwives at two university hospitals in the French-speaking part of Switzerland completed an anonymous online survey. Midwives were chosen as study population because STS represents a serious professional risk in this population. In a series of confirmatory factor analyses and exploratory structural equation modeling (ESEM), a model with two correlated ESEM factors (i.e., intrusion, avoidance-arousal) provided the best model fit, thus establishing factorial validity. Differential associations of the STSS-F total score to general distress and posttraumatic stress and the utility of the STSS-F total score to account for variance in core dimensions of burnout beyond general distress, posttraumatic stress, perceived stress, occupational reward, and efforts supported the criterion validity of the STSS-F. The full STSS-F and its subscales showed acceptable to good levels of reliability. Limitations include the relatively small and homogeneous sample and the lack of tests of factorial invariance of the STSS-F and the original STSS. In conclusion, the present study provides evidence for the reliability and validity of the STSS-F. It makes the SSTS accessible to French speaking research contexts.

This article presents an approach of obesity centered on patients' experience. How is obesity defined by these latter? Is it considered as a disease? Is it apprehended by them as an element to fight or as a potentially meaningful event? Has the sick person the feeling to suffer from obesity or to have resources to face it? At the crossroads of three human sciences (sociology, anthropology and education), this approach aims to enrich and increase the efficiency of therapeutic patient education for obese patients. Extended experience narration extracts are presented in this article, obtained from research interviews. They show the importance of taking into account the "subjective experience" of the disease when accompanying persons affected by obesity.
