The article "Effect of Different Cleaning Procedures on the Surface Roughness of Vacuum-Formed Retainer Materials" explores the impact of various cleaning methods on the surface roughness of vacuum-formed retainer materials. The study involved distributing a questionnaire to individuals who use vacuum-formed retainers and conducting experiments using a toothbrush simulator to simulate brushing for 30 days. The findings showed that different cleaning protocols had varying effects on the retainer materials, with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) samples generally exhibiting a reduction in surface roughness and polypropylene (PP) samples showing an elevation in roughness. The study emphasizes the importance of choosing appropriate cleaning procedures to preserve the integrity and hygiene of vacuum-formed retainer materials. [Extracted from the article]
