In this case report was presented a cattle 3 years old Holstein breed with the large a skin neoplasm: 7 kg mass, 32x30x12 cm diameters, we 11-circumscribed, atopecic, black, black pigment on the traumatic surface, deep excoriation and ulceration, on the middle ventral abdomen area; between umbilical and udder. Melanoma was diagnosed clinically. Neoplasma removed by wide surgical excision and confirmed by histopatological examination.

This study was undertaken to examine gross, histopathologic and cytologic findings, and to determine the clinic-pathologic diagnostic criteria of sheep pulmonary adenomatosis (PA). For this purpose, 2630 sheep lungs were examined at a local slaughterhouse in Konya, and PA was found in 102 cases (3,88 %). Grossly, in 74 of 102 cases lobular lesions in one or more lobes, and in 28 cases larger lesions in all lobes were seen. These lesions were firm, shiny grey-while in colour and had grey-white nodules of different size on cut surfaces. Histopathologic examination revealed proliferation and papillary projection of alveolar and bronchiolar epithelium and in some cases neoplastic nodules in bronchiolar lumina. In 6 cases (5,88 %) metastatic tumors were found in mediastinal lymph nodes. In 53 of 102 sheep 2-25 ml of nasal discharge or sputum was obtained. In 26 cases the cytologic examinations of sputum revealed groups or clusters and sometimes single neoplastic cells resembling neoplastic cells in histopathologica! sec-lions. Cytologic examinations of touch preparations and smears of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid made from 102 cases showed groups of neoplastic cells rn all cases. Some neoplastic cells in sputum. BAL and touch preparations showed anisocytosis, anisonucleosis and occasional mitotic figures. In conclusion. PA is a low grade bronchiolo-alveolar carcinoma. It was suggested that BAL may be useful in the diagnosis of PA but cytologic examinations of spulum have limited value.

The study was carried out to reveal the pathology and Incidence of tuberculosis (Tb) that currently increased and other granulomatous pneumonia (GP) in cattle. For this purpose, the lungs and the mediastinal-bronchial lymph nodes of 4062 cattle slaughtered at Konya Konet Slaughterhouse were examined, and in 53 (1.30 %) cases, GP were determined. Out of these cases, 45 (85 %) tuberculosis, 6 (11.3 %) actinobacillosis and 2 (3.7 %) pneumomycosis were diagnosed. In addition to these cases, tuberculous granulomas were found in 4 mediastinal lymph nodes as well, making up a totally 49 (1.2 %) Tb cases. Certain and differential diagnosis of these diseases was performed by typical macroscopic and microscopic features of the lesions and observations of agents on sections stained with specific staining methods. It has concluded that, by taking account To which made up 85 % of GP, GPs In cattle need to be examined in terms of Tb. Besides, that 1.2 % of all examined cattle suffers from Tb has shown the importance of antemortem and postmortem examinations in abattoirs lor public health.

In this study, heterotypic pulmonar anomaly in a two-day-old female calf was described. Related clinical, radiological and histopathological results were discussed. The heterotypic pulmonar anomaly developed in the left pa-ralumbar region, resulted in depression on the medulla spinalis, hemivertebra in L4, and scoliosis in L4-5

In this case report, a cholangiocellular carcinoma diagnosed in a 13 years-otd female cat was described. The cat, euthanasied intraoperatively, was necropsied, and grossly, grayish coloured, rounded or cauliflower shaped multinodular masses sized 8-9 centimetres were observed in the liver. The same nodules were confirmed in the lungs, also. Microscopic examinations of the liver and lungs revealed that tumoral masses were originated from intrahepatic bile duct epithelial cells that orientated as commonly wide radial or rarely asinar manner. The case was classified as a cholangiocellular carcinoma.

Two trials were conducted in this study. In the flrst trial, total 72 female Japanese quails aged 5 weeks were used. During 8 weeks. the animals fed diets contalnlng 0, 0.01, 0. 1 and 1 % Maxicrop extracted from Ascophyllum nodosum. The effects of Maxicrop on egg productıon. egg weight, feed lntake, feed effıciency, body weight and egg yolk color ın quails were investigated. In the second trial, total 20 Japanase quaııs (8 males+ 12 females) at the age of 8 weeks were u sed. Maxicrop was added to basaı dlet at the levels of 0. 1, 2 and 4 %, and whether ıts toxic etfects were determıned.The results of this study were summarised as follows. 1. No positive effect of seaweed extract on egg productlon, egg weight. feed efficiency and body weıght was determıned 2 Seaweed extracı atfected positively to yolk color. 3. Seaweed extract may use in the dıets of laying quails up to 4 % without deleterious effects.

This study was undertaken to determine pathological changes ol cerebrocortical necrosis (CCN) experimentally induced by given amprolium in lambs. Six healthy lambs, aging between 7 and 9 months and weighting between 11 and 15 kg were used as a material. Six lambs were divided into two groups to be three animals in each group ( group l,ll). Amprolium ( 600 mg/kg/day) was given per oral to the both groups of lambs by stomach tube during experiment. The symptoms of CCN in iambs were observed between 29 and 63 days of the experiment While the lambs in the group II were treated with thiamine ( 500 mg /day) after clinical symptoms of CCN were appeared, the lambs in the group I were not applied any treatment. In the present study the aim was to investigate the pathological conditions in the ovarium and fallopian tubes of ewes slaughtered at Konya abattoirs For this purpose, the reproductive tracts of 4370 ewes Irom different breeds were examined. During this study, in 210 cases (4.8%) ovaries and in 33 cases (0.75%) fallopian lubes showed some pathological conditions. The pathological changes in and around ovary were classified as follows; parovarian cysts (3.27%), follicular cysts (0.82%), cystic corpora lutea (0.16%), tubo-ovarian cysts (0.04%), oophoritis (0 14%), periovaritis and adhesions (0.53%), and male pseudohermaphroditismus (0,02%). Pathological changes of oviduct were hydrosalpinx(0.25%), salpingitis (0 25%), melanosis (0.07%). and me sosa I ping it i s - adhesions (0.39%).

In this study, 1577 beef cattle were examinad to determine the incidence of liver abscesses and the relation of stomach lesions to abscess of the liver. The following results were obtained; 1- Among 1577 beef cattle examined from February 1990 to March 1991, 30 (1.9%) had liver abbcesses. Of these, rumenitis-liver abscess com/ex in the 21 (1.3%) cases were shown. 2- In the stomach of 30 beef cattla with liver abscesses, rumenitis in the 12(40%), hyperkeratosis of the rumen in the 4 (13.3%) and traumatic reticulitis in the 9 (30%) cattle were seen. But any lesions were not observed in other 5 (16.7%) cases. 3- Bacteriological examinations were not conducted. However, the histological appearences of liver absceeses were similar to those developed due to F. necrophorum.

ln this study in order to close the large defected umbilical and abdominal hernias synthetic tulle that is economic, close tressed easily extend, lasting and abudantfy found was used. For this reason we have studied on totally 15 clinical cases consisting of 11 calves, 1 cow, 1 young bull and 2 sheep and experimentally on 8 dogs. It has been thought that synthetic tulle can easily be used in domestic animals with large defected umbilical and abdominal hernias because having the peculiarity of easily acceptability from body either by entering into the fibers of fibrous connective tissue increassing the strength by surrounding them.

Zeranal has been used as anabolic agent in cattle and sheep, especially in recent years. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of zeranal on the development and histopathological changes of reproductive organs of male merino lambs implanted with zeranaL In this trial, tourty-five m ale merino lambs at 126 ± 8 days of age were used. These lambs were divided into three groups. Each group consisted of 15 animals. Group I and group II were implanted with 12 mg zeranal subcutaneously the base of ear of lambs at the baginning of trials. After that, the same dose of zeranal was reimplanted to group II 40 days after first implantation. The remaining 15 lambs were used as a control group. Five lambs from each groups were slaughtered at 80, 120 and 160 days atter the trial. The implantation of zeranal to the lambs induced histopathological changes in the genital tract, which included; reduced seminiferous tubular diameter, delayed spermatogenesis in the testes; increased interductal connective tissue, adenomyosis, hyperplasia and intraepithelial lumina in the epididymides; squamous metaplasia, cystic dilatation of same acini, keratinisation, hyperplasia and increase in connective tissue in the prestat and bulbourethral gland; reduced alveolar development and an increase in connective tissue, alveoler cystic dilatation in vesicular gland. lt may be concluded that zeranal induced changes in the testes was reversible, whereas changes in epididymides, prostat, bulbourethral and vesiculer gland were irreversible. For this reason, zeranal implanted lambs should not be used for breeding purpose.

This study was carried out to determine the effects of zeranal implantation that had been used as an anabolic agent on the reproductive tract in the Brown Swiss male bulls. Twenty three Brown Swiss bulls, 6-9 months old, were used in this study. These bulls were divided into three groups; Control, Group I and Group II. 36 mg zeranal was implanted subcutaneously .at the base of ear of bulls in Group I and Group II at the beginning of the experiment and the same dose was reimplanted to Group II 65 days after the first implantation. Implantation of zeranal to the bulls induced histopathological changes on the reproductive tract, which included; reduction in the diameter of seminiferous tubules and delayed sperınatogenezis in the testes, inercaseel interductal conncctive tissue and muscular layer of the d. epididimis in the epididimites, augmented interalveoler connective tissue and reducecl alveoler development in the prostate, vesicular glands and bulbouretlrral glands. It may be concluded that the implantation of zeranal would cause incufficiency at sexual breed function in bulls after 6 months of age.

This study was made to inestigate the macroscopical and microscopical changes in calves which died and were slaughtered compulsorily from experimental theileriosis. In this study four splenectomized calves aged 6 to 8 months were used. In the necropsy of the calves, the findings observed are these ; faded muco-se, jaundice in the connective tissue, hemorrhages in the kidneys, heart, mucose and serosa, enlargement in hte lymph nodes and liver, fullness in the urinary and gall bladders, oedema in the lung, ulcerations and hemorrhages in the abo-masum, aboundant bloody and gelatinous exudate in the abdominal cavity. In the histopathological examination, the following findings were seen; hemorrgahes and necrosis with inflamatory reactions in lymph nodes, necrosis and ulcers in the abomasum, bronchopnumonia and oedema in the lung, interstitial nephritis in the kidneys, increase in the number of lymphocytes in the bone marrow and brain vessels, slight hemorrhages and hypremia in the brain and menings, cell filtration and hemorrhages in the tymus.

A tumour determined in vagina of a cow was removed surgically. It was detected that it was a fibrosarcoma as a result of histopatolo-gical examination of the tumour. It did not show any sign related to the recurrence of tumour in cow 9 months after the operation.

Multifocal 0.5-1.2 cm., dark-red nodular masses were seen within the renal cortex of a ten- year old ox which slaughtered at munic ipal abattoir in Beyşehir. Microscopic examination of these renal masses cantirmed the presence of haemangiosarcoma in the kidney of ox.

In equides 13 cases of equine sarcoides were investigated macrospically and microspically. These cases were obtained from one horse, tree mules and nine donkeys.

Lungs taken from goats were examined for pneumonia. Macroscopically , pneumonia was found in 66 of 2784 lungs. It was recognized fibrinous pneumonia in 28 lungs (42 %), catarrhal-purulent bronchopneumonia in 15 lungs (23 %), interstitiel pneumonia in 14 lungs (22 %), verminous pneumonia in 8 lungs (12 %), also pulmonary adenomatosis was found in a case (1 %). This is a first report in goats in Turkey.

In this case report, pathological findings in cattle poisoning that was thought to be caused by the leaves of Nerium oleander in a farm was described. Clinically, sudden death, anemia and diarrhea were seen. Post-mortem examination of the animals revealed changing degrees of hyperemia, edema, and petechial bleedings were observed. In histopathological examination, edema, hyperemia and occasional hemorrhage with degeneration and necrosis in myocytes and neurons in heart and brain were detected. Based on the pathological findings, observations of oleander leaves in the feeders and deaths after the oleander trees were cut down have verified the diagnosis of oleander poisoning in these cattle.
