Spin defects in atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) materials such as hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) attract significant attention for their potential quantum applications. The layered host materials not only facilitate seamless integration with optoelectronic devices but also enable the formation of heterostructures with on-demand functionality. Furthermore, their atomic thickness renders them particularly suitable for sensing applications. However, the short coherence times of the spin defects in hBN limit them in quantum applications that require extended coherence time. One primary reason is that both boron and nitrogen atoms have non-zero nuclear spins. Here, we present another 2D material germanium disulfide ($\beta$-GeS$_2$) characterized by a wide bandgap and potential nuclear-spin-free lattice. This makes it as a promising host material for spin defects that possess long-coherence time. Our findings reveal the presence of more than two distinct types of spin defects in single-crystal $\beta$-GeS$_2$. Coherent control of one type defect has been successfully demonstrated at both 5 K and room temperature, and the coherence time $T_2$ can achieve tens of microseconds, 100-folds of that of negatively charged boron vacancy (V$_{\text{B}}^-$) in hBN, satisfying the minimal threshold required for metropolitan quantum networks--one of the important applications of spins. We entatively assign the observed optical signals come from substitution defects. Together with previous theoretical prediction, we believe the coherence time can be further improved with optimized lattice quality, indicating $\beta$-GeS$_2$ as a promising host material for long-coherence-time spins., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures

We performed optical studies on CaFeAsF single crystals, a parent compound of the 1111-type iron-based superconductors that undergoes a structural phase transition from tetragonal to orthorhombic at $T_s$ = 121 K and a magnetic one to a spin density wave (SDW) state at $T_N$ = 110 K. In the low temperature optical conductivity spectrum, after the subtraction of a narrow Drude peak, we observe a pronounced singularity around 300 cm$^{-1}$ that separates two regions of quasilinear conductivity. We outline that these characteristic absorption features are signatures of Dirac fermions, similar to what was previously reported for the BaFe$_2$As$_2$ system [1]. In support of this interpretation, we show that for the latter system this singular feature disappears rapidly upon electron and hole doping, as expected if it arises from a van Hove singularity in-between two Dirac cones. Finally, we show that one of the infrared-active phonon modes (the Fe-As mode at 250 cm$^{-1}$) develops a strongly asymmetric line shape in the SDW state and note that this behaviour can be explained in terms of a strong coupling with the Dirac fermions., Comment: 4 pages, 4figures

Using the self-consistent field approach, the effect of asymmetry of the coil block on the microphase separation is focused in ABC coil-rod-coil triblock copolymers. For different fractions of the rod block $f_{\text B}$, some stable structures are observed, i.e., lamellae, cylinders, gyroid, and core-shell hexagonal lattice, and the phase diagrams are constructed. The calculated results show that the effect of the coil block fraction $f_{\text A}$ is dependent on $f_{\text B}$. When $f_{\text B}=0.2$, the effect of asymmetry of the coil block is similar to that of the ABC flexible triblock copolymers; When $f_{\text B}=0.4$, the self-assembly of ABC coil-rod-coil triblock copolymers behaves like rod-coil diblock copolymers under some condition. When $f_{\text B}$ continues to increase, the effect of asymmetry of the coil block reduces. For $f_{\text B}=0.4$, under the symmetrical and rather asymmetrical conditions, an increase in the interaction parameter between different components leads to different transitions between cylinders and lamellae. The results indicate some remarkable effect of the chain architecture on self-assembly, and can provide the guidance for the design and synthesis of copolymer materials., Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures

We study how the decoherence of macroscopic objects is induced intrisinically by relativistic effect. With the degree of freedom of center of mass (CM) characterizing the collective quantum state of a macroscopic object (MO), it is found that a MO consisting of N particles can decohere with time scale no more than sqrt(N). Here, the special relativity can induce the coupling of the collective motion mode and the relative motion modes in an order of 1/c2, which intrinsically results in the above minimum decoherence., Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures

We study a transverse-field Ising model (TFIM) in a rotational reference frame. We find that the effective Hamiltonian of the TFIM of this system depends on the system's rotation velocity. Since the rotation contributes an additional transverse field, the dynamics of TFIM sensitively responses to the rotation velocity at the critical point of quantum phase transition. This observation means that the TFIM can be used for quantum sensing of rotation velocity that can sensitively detect rotation velocity of the total system at the critical point. It is found that the resolution of the quantum sensing scheme we proposed is characterized by the half-width of Loschmidt echo of the dynamics of TFIM when it couples to a quantum system S. And the resolution of this quantum sensing scheme is proportional to the coupling strength \delta between the quantum system S and the TFIM, and to the square root of the number of spins N belonging the TFIM., Comment: 6 pages,6 figures

Using the self-consistent field lattice model, polymer concentration $\bar{\phi}_{{P}}$ and chain length $N$ (keeping the length ratio of hydrophobic to hydrophilic blocks constant) the effects on temperature-dependent behavior of micelles are studied, in amphiphilic symmetric ABA triblock copolymer solutions. When chain length is increased, at fixed $\bar{\phi}_{{P}}$, micelles occur at higher temperature. The variations of average volume fraction of stickers $\bar{\phi}_\textrm{co}^\textrm{s}$ and the lattice site numbers $N_\textrm{co}^\textrm{ls}$ at the micellar cores with temperature are dependent on $N$ and $\bar{\phi}_{{P}}$, which demonstrates that the aggregation of micelles depends on $N$ and $\bar{\phi}_{{P}}$. Moreover, when $\bar{\phi}_{{P}}$ is increased, firstly a peak appears on the curve of specific heat $C_V$ for unimer-micelle transition, and then in addition a primary peak, the secondary peak, which results from the remicellization, is observed on the curve of $C_V$. For a long chain, in intermediate and high concentration regimes, the shape of specific heat peak markedly changes, and the peak tends to be a more broad peak. Finally, the aggregation behavior of micelles is explained by the aggregation way of amphiphilic triblock copolymer. The effects of the length of each hydrophobic end block N_{st} and polymer concentration \bar{\phi}_{P} on the transition broadness in amphiphilic ABA symmetric triblock copolymer solutions are studied using the self-consistent field lattice model. When the system is cooled, micelles are observed, i.e.,the homogenous solution (unimer)-micelle transition occurs. When N_{st} is increased, at fixed \bar{\phi}_{P}, micelles occur at higher temperature, and the temperature-dependent range of micellar aggregation and half-width of specific heat peak for unimer-micelle transition increase monotonously. Compared with associative polymers, it is found that the magnitude of the transition broadness is determined by the ratio of hydrophobic to hydrophilic blocks, instead of chain length. When \bar{\phi}_{P} is decreased, given a large N_{st}, the temperature-dependent range of micellar aggregation and half-width of specific heat peak initially decease, and then remain nearly constant. It is shown that the transition broadness is concerned with the changes of the relative magnitudes of the eductions of nonstickers and solvents from micellar cores., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

Effect of distribution of stickers along the backbone on structural properties in associating polymer solutions is studied using self-consistent field lattice model. Only two inhomogeneous morphologies, i.e., microfluctuation homogenous (MFH) and micelle morphologies, are observed. If the system is cooled, the solvent content within the aggregates decreases. When the spacing of stickers along the backbone is increased the temperature-dependent range of aggregation in MFH morphology and half-width of specific heat peak for homogenous solutions-MFH transition increase, and the symmetry of the peak decreases. However, with increasing spacing of stickers, the above three corresponding quantities related to micelles behave differently. It is demonstrated that the broad nature of the observed transitions can be ascribed to the structural changes which accompany the replacement of solvents in aggregates by polymer, which is consistent with the experimental conclusion. The effects of polymer concentration and chain length on aggregation in associative polymer solutions, are studied using self-consistent field lattice model. Only two inhomogenous morphologies, i.e. microfluctuation homogenous (MFH) and micelle morphologies, are observed in the systems with different chain lengths. The temperatures at which the above two inhomogenous morphologies first appear, which are denoted by T_MFH and T_m, respectively, are dependent on polymer concentration and chain length. The variation of the logarithm of critical MFH concentration with the logarithm of chain length fulfils a linear-fitting relationship with a slope equaling -1. Furthermore, the variation of the average volume fraction of stickers at the micellar core (AVFSM) with polymer concentration and chain length is focused in the system at T_m. It is founded by calculations that the above behavior of AVFSM, is explained in terms of intrachain and interchain associations., Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures
