High-energy photons of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) might be emitted at different intrinsic times with energy dependence at the source. In this letter, we expand the model from previous works on testing the Lorentz Invariance Violation (LV) with the observed GRB data from the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. We reanalyze the previous data with the full Bayesian parameter estimation method and get consistent results by assuming that the time delays are due to an LV term and a constant intrinsic time delay term. Subsequently, we neglect the LV effect and only consider the intrinsic time delay effect. We assume a common intrinsic time delay term along with a source energy correlated time delay of high-energy photons. We find that the energy-dependent emission times can also explain the observed GRB data of high-energy photon events. Finally, we integrate these two physical mechanisms into a unified model to distinguish and evaluate their respective contributions using the observed GRB data., Comment: 9 latex pages, 4 figures, final version for journal publication

Close white dwarf binaries (CWDBs) are considered to be progenitors of several exotic astronomical phenomena (e.g., type Ia supernovae, cataclysmic variables). These violent events are broadly used in studies of general relativity and cosmology. However, obtaining precise stellar parameter measurements for both components of CWDBs is a challenging task given their low luminosities, swift time variation, and complex orbits. High-resolution spectra (R$> 20 000$) are preferred but expensive, resulting in a sample size that is insufficient for robust population study. To release the full potential of the less expensive low-resolution spectroscopic surveys, and thus greatly expand the CWDB sample size, it is necessary to develop a robust pipeline for spectra decomposition and analysis. We used an artificial neural network (ANN) to build spectrum generators for DA/DB white dwarfs and main-sequence stars. The best-fit stellar parameters were obtained by finding the least $\chi^2$ solution to these feature lines and the continuum simultaneously. We demonstrate the reliability of our code with two well-studied CWDBs, WD 1534+503 and PG 1224+309. We also estimate the stellar parameters of 14 newly identified CWDB candidates, most of which are fitted with double component models for the first time. Our estimates agree with previous results for the common stars and follow the statistical distribution in the literature. Task-aware navigation continues to be a challenging area of research, especially in scenarios involving open vocabulary. Previous studies primarily focus on finding suitable locations for task completion, often overlooking the importance of the robot's pose. However, the robot's orientation is crucial for successfully completing tasks because of how objects are arranged (e.g., to open a refrigerator door). Humans intuitively navigate to objects with the right orientation using semantics and common sense. For instance, when opening a refrigerator, we naturally stand in front of it rather than to the side. Recent advances suggest that Vision-Language Models (VLMs) can provide robots with similar common sense. Therefore, we develop a VLM-driven method called Navigation-to-Gaze (Navi2Gaze) for efficient navigation and object gazing based on task descriptions. This method uses the VLM to score and select the best pose from numerous candidates automatically. In evaluations on multiple photorealistic simulation benchmarks, Navi2Gaze significantly outperforms existing approaches and precisely determines the optimal orientation relative to target objects.

The Beijing Spectrometer (BESIII) Collaboration reconstructed the invariant mass of three pairs of positive and negative pions by studying the decay process of charmonium to a photon and three pairs of positive and negative pions. They discovered the resonant structures X(1840) and X(1880), which are interpreted as the predicted proton-antiproton bound states, also known as protonium. This article briefly introduces the experimental discovery processes of these resonant structures and discusses the theoretical explorations inspired by them. The predictions proposed by these theoretical explorations offer a new perspective for studying the nature of these particles and new decay modes. Galactic double white dwarfs are predominant sources of gravitational waves in the millihertz frequencies accessible to space-borne gravitational wave detectors. With advances in multi-messenger astronomy, an increasing number of double white dwarf systems will be discovered through both electromagnetic and gravitational wave observations. In this paper, we simulated two populations of double white dwarfs originating from different star formation histories (hereafter referred to as Model 1 and Model 2) using the binary population synthesis method. We predicted the number of double white dwarfs in our Galaxy detectable by TianQin and Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) individually, as well as through their joint observation. In addition, we performed an analysis to evaluate the accuracy of the parameter estimation using the Fisher information matrix. Furthermore, we predicted the number of eclipsing double white dwarfs detectable by Gaia and LSST. Our study found that over the nominal mission durations, TianQin, LISA, and their joint observation can detect $5\times10^3$ ($1\times10^4$), $1.7\times10^4$ ($3.3\times10^4$), and $1.8\times10^4$ ($3.5\times10^4$) double white dwarfs with signal-to-noise ratios greater than 7 in Model 1 (Model 2), respectively. Gaia and LSST are expected to detect 67 (186) and 273 (554) eclipsing double white dwarfs in Model 1 (Model 2) with orbital period less than 30 hours, respectively. The confirmation of the existence of GZK cut-off was tortuous, leading to activities to explore new physics, such as the cosmic-ray new components, unidentified cosmic-ray origins, unknown propagation mechanism, and the modification of fundamental physics concepts like the tiny Lorentz invariance violation (LV). The confirmation of the GZK cut-off provides an opportunity to constrain the LV effect. We use a phenomenological framework to restudy the GZK mechanism under the Planck scale deformation of the proton and pion dispersion relations. Restudying the photon induced pion production of the proton $\mathrm{p}+\gamma\to\mathrm{p}+\pi^0$, we predict abnormal threshold behaviors of this reaction under different LV modifications. Therefore, we can study the LV effects not only from the conventional GZK cut-off, but also from potentially threshold anomalies of the pion production process. We divide the LV parameter space into three regions, and analyze the constraints from current observations in each region. The current observations have set strict constraints on a certain LV region. Brown dwarfs (BDs) possessing masses within the range $40-60 M_{\rm Jup}$ are rare around solar-type main-sequence (MS) stars, which gives rise to the brown dwarf desert (BDD). One caveat associated with previous studies of BDD is the relatively limited sample size of MS$-$BD binaries with accurately determined BD masses. We aim to produce a large sample of brown dwarf companions with precisely determined mass around main-sequence A-F-G type stars using observations of post common-envelope white dwarf (WD)$-$BD binaries. We employ the rapid binary evolution code COMPAS to deduce the properties of MS$-$BD binary progenitors from post common-envelope WD$-$BD binaries. This method supplements the directly observed MS$-$BD binary sample, enriching the data available for analyzing BDD around main-sequence A-F-G type stars. Our study opens a new window for studying the shape of BDD around A-F-G type main-sequence stars in the short period regime. We find tentative evidence that the `driest' part of BDD around A-F-G type stars may extend into an orbital period of several hundred days, albeit with a small sample size. We present a global analysis of the trans-helicity worm-gear distribution function, $g_{1T}^\perp$, by fitting the longitudinal-transverse double spin asymmetry data of the semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering. The analysis is performed within the framework of transverse momentum dependent factorization and evolution. It is found that the $u$-quark favors a positive distribution and the $d$-quark favors a negative distribution, which is consistent with previous model calculations and phenomenological extractions. Based on the fit to existing world data, we also study the impact of the proposed electron-ion collider in China and conclude that it can significantly improve the precision of the worm-gear distribution function and hence enhance our understanding of nucleon spin structures., Comment: 17 pages, 11 figures

Context.Spatially-resoved cicrumstellar disk spectrum and composition can provide valuable insights into the bulk composition of forming planets, as well as the mineralogical signatures that emerge during and after planet formation. Aims. We aim to systemically extract the RX~J1604.3-213010 (J1604 hereafter) protoplanetary disk in high-contrast imaging observations, and obtain its multi-band reflectance in visible to near-infrared wavelengths. Methods. We obtained coronagraphic observations of J1604 from the Keck Observatory's NIRC2 instrument, and archival data from the Very Large Telescope's SPHERE instrument. Using archival images to remove star light and speckles, we recovered the J1604 disk and obtained its surface brightness using forward modeling. Together with polarization data, we obtained the relative reflectance of the disk in $R$, $J$, $H$ ($H2$ and $H3$), $K$ ($K1$ and $K2$), and $L'$ bands spanning two years. Results. Relative to the J1604 star, the resolved disk has a reflectance of ${\sim}10^{-1}$~arcsec$^{-2}$ in $R$ through $H$ bands and ${\sim}10^{-2}$~arcsec$^{-2}$ in $K$ and $L'$ bands, showing a blue color. Together with other systems, we summarized the multi-band reflectance for 9 systems. We also identified varying disk geometry structure, and a shadow that vanished between June and August in 2015. Conclusions. Motivated by broad-band observations, the deployment of cutting-edge technologies could yield higher-resolution reflection spectra, thereby informing the dust composition of disks in scattered light in the future. Neutrinos from the cosmos have proven to be ideal for probing the nature of space-time. Previous studies on high-energy events of IceCube suggested that some of these events might be gamma-ray burst neutrinos, with their speeds varying linearly with their energy, implying also the coexistence of subluminal and superluminal propagation. However, a recent reanalysis of the data, incorporating revised directional information, reveals stronger signals that neutrinos are actually being slowed down compared to previous suggestion of neutrino speed variation. Thus, it is worth discussing its implications for the brane/string inspired framework of space-time foam, which has been used to explain previous observations. We revisit effects on neutrino propagation from specific foam models within the framework, indicating that the implied violation of Lorentz invariance could necessarily cause the neutrino to decelerate. We therefore argue that this sort of model is in agreement with the updated phenomenological indication just mentioned. Many hot Jupiters may experience orbital decays, which are manifested as long-term transit timing variations. We have analyzed 7068 transits from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) for a sample of 326 hot Jupiters. These new mid-transit time data allow us to update ephemerides for these systems. By combining the new TESS transit timing data with archival data, we search for possible long-term orbital period variations in these hot Jupiters using a linear and a quadratic ephemeris model. We identified 26 candidates that exhibit possible long-term orbital period variations, including 18 candidates with decreasing orbital periods and 8 candidates with increasing orbital periods. Among them, 12 candidates have failed in our leave-one-out cross-validation (LOOCV) test and thus should be considered as marginal candidates. In addition to tidal interaction, alternative mechanisms such as apsidal precession, R{\o}mer effect, and Applegate effect could also contribute to the observed period variations. The ephemerides derived in this work are useful for scheduling follow-up observations for these hot Jupiters in the future. The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S) Collaboration reported the discovery of a novel radiation component from the Vela pulsar by their Cherenkov telescopes. It is of great importance that gamma rays with energies of at least 20~TeV are recorded unexpectedly. The H.E.S.S Collaboration argued that such results may challenge the state-of-the-art models for the high-energy emission of pulsars. We point out in this work that these results also provide a unique opportunity to constrain certain Lorentz invariance violation parameters, leading to the realization of studying Lorentz invariance violation by using gamma-ray pulsars. The Lorentz invariance violation scale is constrained at the level of $E_{\mathrm{LV,}1}> 1.66\times 10^{17} \rm GeV$ for the linear scenario, and $E_{\mathrm{LV,}2}>3.53\times 10^{10} \rm GeV$ for the quadratic scenario. We anticipate that digging into the detailed features of the data of the Vela pulsar and analyzing potentially more very-high-energy photon data from pulsars in the future would improve the constraints on Lorentz invariance violation., Comment: 3 pages, no figure

To overcome the high optical extinction, near-infrared observations are needed for probing the microlensing events toward the Galactic center. The 2015-2019 UKIRT microlensing survey toward the Galactic center is the first dedicated precursor near-infrared (NIR) survey for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. We here analyze the online data from the UKIRT microlensing survey, reaching $l=b=0^\circ$. Using the event-finder algorithm of KMTNet with the $\Delta \chi^2$ threshold of 250, we find 522 clear events, 436 possible events, and 27 possible anomalous events. We fit a point-source point-lens (PSPL) model to all the clear events and derive the PSPL parameters with uncertainties using a Markov chain Monte Carlo method. Assuming perfect detection efficiency, we compute the uncorrected event rates, which should serve as the lower limits on the true event rate. Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory~(LHAASO) opens the window of ultra-high-energy~(UHE) photon detection, broadens the path of testing basic physical concept such as Lorentz symmetry, and brings possibility of potential high-energy physical phenomenon research such as photon decay and electron decay. Currently, the UHE photons from LHAASO observation set strict constraints on photon and electron Lorentz symmetry violation~(LV) effects. To obtain a global impression of the photon-electron LV parameter plane, we make a detailed analysis for photon decay and electron decay. Our discussion gives the corresponding decay thresholds and energy-momentum distributions in different LV parameter configurations. We get corresponding constraints on photon LV parameter, electron LV parameter and the photon-electron LV parameter plane from LHAASO observation. The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory~(LHAASO) reported observation of photons with energies above 10~TeV from gamma-ray burst GRB 221009A. A suggestion was proposed that this result may contradict our knowledge of special relativity~(SR) and the standard model~(SM), according to which photons of about 10~TeV from such a distant object should be severely suppressed because of the absorption by extragalactic background light. As a result, a number of mechanisms have been proposed to solve this potential puzzle, including Lorentz invariance violation~(LIV). As a potential consequence of Lorentz invariance violation~(LIV), threshold anomalies open a window to study LIV. Recently the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory~(LHAASO) reported that more than 5000 photons from GRB 221009A have been observed with energies above 500~GeV and up to $18~\text{TeV}$. In the literature, it is suggested that this observation may have tension with the standard model result because extragalactic background light~(EBL) can prevent photons around 18~TeV from reaching the earth and that LIV induced threshold anomalies might be able to explain the observation. In this work we further study this proposal with more detailed numerical calculation for different LIV scales and redshifts of the sources. We find that GRB 221009A is a rather unique opportunity to search LIV, and a LIV scale $E_\text{LIV} \lesssim E_\text{Planck}\approx 1.22\times 10^{19}~\text{GeV}$ is feasible to the observation of GRB 221009A on 9 October, 2022., Comment: 10 pages, 7 figures, final version for journal publication

In recent years, with the increasing maturity of UAV technology, the application of UAV in the civilian field has seen explosive growth due to their low cost, high flexibility, and wide adaptability. In order to address the drawbacks of current tethered UAV lighting, which necessitates manual operation and coordination with tethered cables, this paper presents a rapid reaction and autonomous deployment emergency lighting system prototype based on Tello UAV. The system design is divided into three modules. First, the lighting module has designed the protogype lighting extensions for the Tello UAV. By selecting and installing LED light sources reasonably, the stability of the UAV's takeoff, landing, and flight is not affected, while ensuring good lighting effects; Second, the addressing module extracts the optimization objective function based on the optimization deployment requirements of UAV, and uses simulated annealing algorithm to iteratively optimize for different distribution scenarios and user needs, calculating the optimal deployment location of UAV and planning flight missions for UAV. Third, the flight control module has designed a specialized command control framework based on Tello UAV's API, which converts the planned flight path into command statements, forms flight text, and controls the flight of unmanned aerial vehicles accordingly. The test results of the emergency lighting system show that the system can respond quickly to both densely distributed and sparsely distributed user scenarios, deploying UAV to the best service locations, and providing high-quality services to users. We study the fragmentation functions of both pions and kaons in the Field-Feynman recursive model with the extended SU(2) flavor symmetry relations of fragmentation functions and fitting parameters. Parametrizations are determined from a leading-order (LO) analysis of HERMES experimental multiplicity data of meson production in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering, and uncertainties are estimated with the Hessian method. We compare our results with the experimental data and the analysis results of other parametrizations. The SU(2) flavor symmetry breaking effect of meson fragmentation functions of $ud$ quarks is also discussed, and we show that the fragmentation functions of kaons have a bigger SU(2) flavor symmetry breaking effect of $ud$ quarks than these of pions., Comment: 16 pages, 12 figures, version for publication

Lorentz invariance is one of the foundations of modern physics; however, Lorentz violation may happen from the perspective of quantum gravity, and plenty of studies on Lorentz violation have arisen in recent years. As a good tool to explore Lorentz violation, Finsler geometry is a natural and fundamental generalization of Riemann geometry. The Finsler structure depends on both coordinates and velocities. Here, we simply introduce the mathematics of Finsler geometry. We review the connection between modified dispersion relations and Finsler geometries and discuss the physical influence from Finsler geometry. Finsler geometry is a natural and fundamental generalization of Riemann geometry, and is a tool to research Lorentz invariance violation. We find the connection between the most general modified dispersion relation and a pseudo-Finsler structure, and then we calculate the arrival time delay of astroparticles with different modified dispersion relations in the framework of Finsler geometry. The result suggests that the time delay is irrelevant with the exact form of the modified dispersion relation. The newly observed gamma ray burst GRB221009A exhibits the existence of 10~TeV-scale photons, and the axion-photon conversion has been suggested as a candidate to explain such energetic features of GRB221009A. In this work we adopt a model to calculate the conversion probability of the energetic photons from GRB221009A to the Earth. The result shows that the penetration probability of photons with energy above $10^1$~TeV can be up to $10^{-2}$ to $ 10^{-4}$ depending on the coupling constant $g_{a\gamma}$ and the axion mass $m_a$, together on the magnetic field parameters of the source galaxy of GRB221009A. We show that the parameters of the source galaxy, with the magnetic field handled by a cellular model, contribute a lot of uncertainties to the penetration probability, so we have more freedom to reconcile a variety of axionlike particle parameters from other observations with the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory observation. By comparing the results in this article with the data from Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory, we can obtain more precise constraints on the ranges of these parameters., Comment: 9 latex pages, 5 figures, final version for publication
