BRS FS308 is a common bean cultivar with beans of the light red kidney commercial group for farmers interested in production for export. BRS FS308 has 100-seed weight of 55 grams, semi-early cycle, semi-upright plant architecture, good yield potential (3,001 kg ha-1), resistance to anthracnose, and moderate resistance to fusarium wilt. BRS FC104 is a carioca seeded common bean cultivar with super-early maturity (mean of 65 days; emergence to physiological maturity) and disease resistance superior to other early maturity carioca seeded cultivars. Is is recommended for growing in 21 Brazilian states and has high yield potential (3792 kg ha-1), a mean yield of 2186 kg ha-1, and 6.9% higher mean of the relative yield compared to the control cultivars. Abstract

BRS Sublime is a common bean cultivar with carioca grains, high nutritional grain quality, and high yield potential (4667 kg ha-1). It has a normal cycle, upright growth, low loss rates in the mechanical harvest, and is recommended for planting in 19 Brazilian states, in the three main common bean cultivation regions. BRS Esteio is a common bean cultivar with black grains of excellent cooking quality, suited for cultivation in 21 Brazilian States. In 77 trials of Value for Cultivation and Use, the cultivar had a normal cycle (90 days), an average yield of 2,529 kg ha-1, which is 8.1% higher than that of the control cultivars, a high yield potential (4,702 kg ha-1), upright growth, tolerance to lodging, and moderate resistance to anthracnose. BRS Notável is a common bean cultivar with carioca grain, suitable for cultivation in 20 Brazilian states. Abstract

O objetivo desse trabalho foi identificar genótipos de feijoeiro-comum com alta adaptabilidade e estabilidade de produção e verificar a ocorrência de interação genótipos x ambientes (GxA) para diferentes caracteres em algumas regiões de cerrado com baixa altitude no Estado do Mato Grosso. Foram realizados 12 ensaios em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, em épocas de semeadura da seca e do inverno, no Estado do Mato Grosso, em 2008 e 2009. Os ensaios foram compostos por 19 genótipos com seis diferentes tipos de grãos. Foram obtidos dados de produtividade de grãos, reação à mancha angular, ciclo, tolerância ao acamamento e massa de cem grãos, e realizadas as análises de variância. Os dados de produtividade foram analisados quanto à estabilidade e adaptabilidade pelo método proposto por Annicchiarico. Foi observada interação GxA para todas as características avaliadas. Abstract

The common beans most produced in Brazil are Carioca and Black bean types; however other less consumed types with diverse colors and sizes such as Alubia, Cranberry, Dark Red Kidney, Light Red Kidney, Pinto and Navy are also produced with a great potential for export. At the moment the number of cultivar of those types is still insignificant, and breeding programs are very new if compared with Carioca and Black beans programs. The breeding program of the Embrapa Rice and Beans Research Center started to supply that demand, by identifying genotypes with suitable characteristics for the international market.
