Santa Fe posee un número significativo de especies nativas con valor real o potencial para la producción agropecuaria, industrial y la protección ambiental. El primer paso para desarrollar una estrategia de uso eficiente de los recursos genéticos silvestres es el listado de las especies prioritarias a conservar. En este trabajo se analizan los recursos fitogenéticos forrajeros herbáceos, forestales, de interés apícola y paisajístico dada su importancia económica y/o estratégica. Se brinda información de uso en cada categoría y en todas las especies se analiza su distribución geográfica por departamentos y se presenta información sobre la conservación de sus semillas. Se priorizaron 138 especies, 29 de las cuales tienen más de un uso (24 de interés forestal, 45 de interés forrajero, 32 de interés apícola y 69 de interés paisajístico). La información que se presenta será de utilidad en el diseño de estrategias de conservación y uso de los recursos fitogenéticos nativos por parte de investigadores y organismos oficiales provinciales y nacionales. The first step in developing a strategy for efficient use of wild genetic resources is the listing of priority species to conserve. In this work, plants with herbaceous forage, forest, beekeepping and landscape interest are analyzed. Information on use is provided in each category and, for all species the geographical distribution by departments is analyzed and information about seed conservation is presented. Thus, 138 species were prioritized, 29 of which have more than one use (24 of forest interest, 45 of forage interest, 32 of beekeeping interest and 69 of landscape interest). The information presented will be useful in the design of strategies for the conservation and use of wild plant genetic resources by researchers and the government.

The native flora has an enormous landscaping potential not fully explored yet. In the present work, aspects related to seeds and germination behavior of three native plant species from central-northern Santa Fe with ornamental potential, prioritized for their introduction to nursery production in the framework of the actions of the Program for Documentation, Conservation and Valuation of Native Flora (PRODOCOVA), have been studied. The studied species were “Sangre drago” Croton urucurana Baill, “Horquetero” Tabernaemontana catharinensis A. DC., and “Ojo de muñeca” Paullinia elegans Cambess. For C. urucurana alternating temperatures of 20-30 °C were found as optimal temperature, while for P. elegans and T. catharinensis, constant temperature at 25 °C determined the highest percentage of germination. Additionally, the initial and fi nal count of the germination percentage were determined for each species. Finally, it was also noted that seeds of P. elegans are recalcitrant. These results provide the basis for the introduction to cultivation of the studied species. La flora nativa posee un enorme potencial paisajístico que ha sido poco explorado. En el presente trabajo se han estudiado aspectos relacionados con las semillas y comportamiento germinativo de tres especies vegetales nativas del centro - norte santafesino con potencial ornamental priorizadas para su introducción a la producción en viveros en el marco de las acciones del Programa de Documentación, Conservación y Valoración de la Flora Nativa (PRODOCOVA). Las especies en estudio corresponden a “Sangre drago” Croton urucurana Baill., “Horquetero” Tabernaemontana catharinensis A. DC. y “Ojo de muñeca” Paullinia elegans Cambess. Para C. urucurana se halló una temperatura óptima a temperaturas alternantes de 20-30 °C, mientras que para P. elegans y T. catharinensis, temperatura constante a 25 °C determinó el mayor porcentaje de germinación. Se identificaron para todas las especies el momento para el recuento inicial y final del porcentaje de germinación. Adicionalmente se observó que semillas de P. elegans son recalcitrantes. Estos resultados son de gran utilidad para la introducción a cultivo de las especies en estudio.

El estudio de la respuesta al sombreado en especies forrajeras nativas es una estrategia de premejoramiento útil para la selección de los materiales adaptados a los sistemas productivos silvopastoriles, predominantes en la ganadería de cría bovina de Argentina. En el presente estudio se evaluaron caracteres agronómicos y ecofisiológicos en entradas de Macroptilium lathyroides del banco de germoplasma “Ing. Agr. José M. Alonso” de la UNL, en condiciones naturales y artificiales de luz y sombra. La respuesta general estuvo asociada a una estrategia de escape al sombreado, donde las plantas elongaron más los tallos y produjeron mayor área foliar en perjuicio de la biomasa radical y foliar. Sin embargo, se identificaron entradas cuya biomasa de tallo y raíz no sufrieron modificaciones significativas bajo sombra. No obstante, la conductividad estomática y la tasa fotosintética se vieron afectadas en todas las entradas en condiciones de sombra, independientemente de la biomasa relativa al testigo. Studies of shade effects on native forage species support pre-breeding process and are useful to establish selection criteria in plant breeding programs for the agroforestry systems prevailing in the Argentine livestock production. In the present study, ecophysiological and agronomic traits were evaluated in accessions of Macroptilium lathyroides belonging to the germplasm bank “Ing. Agr. José M. Alonso” of the UNL, under both natural and artificial light conditions. The general response has been related to a shade-avoidance strategy, where plants showed longer stems and greater leaf area in detriment of root and leaf biomass. Even so, accessions without a significant stem and root biomass reduction under shading were identified. However, stomatal conductance and photosynthetic rate were affected on all accessions subject to shade, independently of the produced biomass relative to control. &nbsp

The Legislative Decree n.214 dated 19-9-2005 introduced in Italy the Council Directive 2000/29/CE, as amended by the Council Directive 2002/89/CE. The aforesaid Decree enforced protective measures against the introduction and spread into the Community of organisms harmful to plants/plants products. In the annexes of the Decree, there are 20 phytopathogenic bacteria. The key measures foreseen in the Decree are strengthened plant health checks, carried out by the regional Plant Health Services (SFR) at the place of production and on imported/exported plants/plant products. In this respect, laboratory analyses are essential for the detection of latent infections. Currently, the analyses are carried out in laboratories belonging to SFR or, under the supervision of each SFR, in private or public laboratories. The Decree 214/2005 lays down a national laboratory network (art.53) to support SFR in performing their analyses. The network operates under the supervision of a central Phytosanitary Committee (art.52). In 2006, a special inquiry showed that SFR are characterised by different needs as they perform different bacteriological analyses for the crops grown in their areas and for the checks of other materials imported through the relevant points of entry. Nevertheless three quarantine bacteria resulted to be of common interest. The national laboratory network, laid down by the Decree 214/2005, should take into account the demand for analyses expressed by the SFR, that have already provided useful data regarding their bacteriological needs. This national laboratory network could provide the SFR with an effective support also in the control of regulated non quarantine pests.
