As the United Nations declared the beginning of the "Decade of Family Farming" in 2017, scholars were increasingly questioning the romanticized and uncritical use of the term to mask some structural inequalities, including patriarchal ownership, colonialism, heteronormativity, family and child labor exploitation, poor labor standards, and environmental destruction. This introduction to a special symposium on the family farm differentiates scholarly approaches to studying family farming into three categories: celebratory, reformist, and abolitionist. After summarizing the papers included in this special issue, this introduction contends that it may be time to move beyond biological and marital relations when analyzing the most effective ways to solve social and environmental problems related to agricultural production. Background: Marital orientation refers to assessing individuals' optimistic or pessimistic attitudes toward marriage. Among the influential factors shaping young people's marital orientation are the relationships they have with others before marriage, as well as their psychological capital. In past studies, family friendship has also been identified as one of the influential factors. However, to date, no model has been proposed for marital orientation based on the relationships between these components. Aims: The aim of the current research was to model marital orientation based on psychological capital and premarital relationship attitudes with the mediation of family friendship. Methods: The present research was descriptive and employed correlational structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the study included all single students of Islamic Azad University in Isfahan province. Considering the number of research variables and conventional statistical methods, a sample of 500 individuals (303 females and 197 males) was selected using stratified random sampling method. Participants completed questionnaires on marital orientation (Guanji, 2020), psychological capital (Luthans, 2007), premarital relationship attitudes (Kourdeloo, 2001), and family friendship (Hashemi Garmdarreh, 2019). The data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. Results: The findings indicate that among the predictor and mediator variables, optimism, resilience, and self-efficacy, as well as family friendship, have a direct relationship with marital orientation (p< 0.05). Additionally, psychological capital and premarital relationship attitudes can predict marital orientation through the family friendship variable (p< 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results obtained, it can be said that the higher the levels of psychological capital and family friendship among students, the more optimistic their orientation towards marriage will be. Considering the results, the family friendship variable plays an important and influential mediating role in the relationship between psychological capital and premarital relationship attitudes with marital orientation. The article presents an analysis of the nature of relationships between spouses of different nationalities. The relevance of the study is due to the high level of interethnic marriages in our country and in the world as a whole. The purpose of the study is to study the psychological characteristics and problems of marital relations in interethnic marriages, where the spouses are representatives of different types of religious orientation. Nationality and type of religious orientation of the spouses are presented as independent variables of the study. The subject of analysis is the psychological characteristics of marital relations in interethnic marriages with spouses of different faiths. The methodological basis of the empirical study is the activity principle (S.L. Rubinstein, A.N. Leontiev, etc.), the principle of systemic determination and analysis (L.S. Vygotsky, B.F. Lomov, etc.), and the personal approach (S.L. Rubinstein, B.G. Ananyev, etc.). The empirical program included an analysis of the results using the technique "Role Expectations and Claims in Marriage" by A.N. Volkova; the method "Communication in the Family" by Yu.E. Aleshina, L.Ya. Gozman, E.M. Dubovskaya; the method "The Nature of Interaction of Spouses in Conflict Situations" by Yu.E. Aleshina, L.Ya. Gozman, E.M. Dubovskaya. To determine the religious orientation of the spouses, the "Religious Orientation Questionnaire" by I.M. Bogdanovskaya and the "Religious Orientation Scale" by G. Allport, D. Ross were used. This research topic is interdisciplinary and includes aspects of social psychology, family psychology, ethnopsychology. The results of the study emphasize the importance of determining the type of religiosity of each of the spouses in the study of the characteristics of marital relationships and solving issues of disruption of the marital interaction system within the framework of family counseling. Introduction: Examining the factors affecting the improvement of marital satisfaction in couples is one of the most important goals of psychology. Marriage has been described as the most important and fundamental interpersonal relationship due to the role it plays in establishing a family relationship and educating the next generation, and in satisfactory, successful marriages, couples send clear messages to each other. They trust each other and accept each other's differences easily, which makes them creative to develop and plan their own identity. In this regard, the present study aimed to compare marital compatibility between Iranian and Turkish couples. Method: The current research was a comparative design. The statistical population of this research was all Iranian and Turkish couples, 300 Iranian couples and 300 Turkish couples were randomly selected and answered the marital compatibility questionnaire. Then, the collected data was analyzed using the analysis of variance test in SPSS software version 24. Findings: The results of this research showed that Iranian couples are more compatible than Turkish couples (p<0.001). Discussion: Based on the obtained research findings, it can be said that in order to improve marital relations, psychologists and family counselors should emphasize more on educating couples on marital issues. The dowry tradition, deeply rooted in various cultures, has significant implications for gender equality, particularly in patriarchal societies. This research analyzes the relationship between dowry practices and gender inequality across several countries, highlighting the persistence of traditional norms despite legal reforms. The study explores how dowry practices influence gender relations, especially in societies where dowries are exchanged between families during marriage. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through an extensive literature review of relevant academic studies, legal frameworks, and reports on dowry practices. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis techniques, focusing on the comparative study of dowry systems in India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, where dowry customs vary widely. The findings reveal that dowry practices often perpetuate gender inequality by limiting women's autonomy and reinforcing patriarchal power structures in marital relationships. Although countries like India have introduced legal reforms to reduce dowry-related issues, the strong cultural attachment to this tradition hinders effective enforcement. The research also shows that international efforts have progressed, such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Still, challenges remain in fully dismantling entrenched cultural norms. This study concludes that addressing dowry practices requires a more inclusive approach involving community engagement and a cultural shift towards greater gender equality in marital relations. When people talk about kinship systems, they often use co‐speech gestures and other representations to elaborate. This paper investigates such polysemiotic (spoken, gestured, and drawn) descriptions of kinship relations, to see if they display recurring patterns of conventionalization that capture specific social structures. We present an exploratory hypothesis‐generating study of descriptions produced by a lesser‐known ethnolinguistic community to the cognitive sciences: the Paamese people of Vanuatu. Forty Paamese speakers were asked to talk about their family in semi‐guided kinship interviews. Analyses of the speech, gesture, and drawings produced during these interviews revealed that lineality (i.e., mother's side vs. father's side) is lateralized in the speaker's gesture space. In other words, kinship members of the speaker's matriline are placed on the left side of the speaker's body and those of the patriline are placed on their right side, when they are mentioned in speech. Moreover, we find that the gesture produced by Paamese participants during verbal descriptions of marital relations are performed significantly more often on two diagonal directions of the sagittal axis. We show that these diagonals are also found in the few diagrams that participants drew on the ground to augment their verbo‐gestural descriptions of marriage practices with drawing. We interpret this behavior as evidence of a spatial template, which Paamese speakers activate to think and communicate about family relations. We therefore argue that extending investigations of kinship structures beyond kinship terminologies alone can unveil additional key factors that shape kinship cognition and communication and hereby provide further insights into the diversity of social structures. The topic of women has been one of the most debated in the discourses of contemporary Iranian history, acquiring a unique meaning in each era. These discourses and the conflicts that they contain have significantly influenced her identity. The visibility of these conflicts in social actions is a significant factor in the Pahlavi period. This paper employs critical discourse analysis to investigate the narratives associated with the quasi-modern Pahlavi discourse on women. Its objective is to analyze the socio-political context in which the modern woman is situated, to comprehend the concept of the modern woman and the semantic processes that shape it, and to comprehend the dominant ideology of this discourse. According to the research findings, the primary discursive statements are as follows: the necessity of Iran’s immediate modernization, past-oriented patriotism and a forward-looking authoritative state, women’s social rights, the necessity for women’s education, emphasis on women’s duties, reevaluation of women’s dress code, the imperative of lifting the veil, and altering marital relations. In contrast to the traditional woman, the modern woman is portrayed as the embodiment of Iranian modernity in the discourse. The ideology of ancient-oriented nationalism and the emphasis on the concept of a progressive dictator have influenced it to disregard previous identity-forming elements and highlight modern elements that are reminiscent of European women. At the discursive and social practice level, this approach contains contradictions that suggest that women’s liberation and progress were not the ultimate objective, but rather a means to diminish the influence of traditionalists and, alternatively, to present a staged image of modernization as the primary objective. Our study investigated the contribution of caregiving identity in the association between marital satisfaction and coparenting quality in fathers and mothers from a sample of opposite-sex couples of young children living in different areas of the United States. We conducted nested Actor-Partner Interdependence Models and moderation tests to examine potential differences between fathers and mothers in associations between marital satisfaction and coparenting quality, as well as the role of caregiving identity in the association. Results confirmed gender differences in the association between marital satisfaction and coparenting. Both mother's and father's caregiving identity interacted with their own marital satisfaction, but these interactions only impacted the coparenting quality reported by mothers. Additionally, caregiving identity in fathers and mothers was associated with the coparenting quality reported by their spouses. Our study highlighted the important role of caregiving identity in understanding the relation between marital satisfaction and coparenting quality in the intrafamilial processes of couples with young children. Objective: This study examines the association between marital satisfaction and cognitive function, while distinguishing between the effects of improving and declining marital satisfaction. Moreover, potential differences in these asymmetric effects of marital satisfaction between middle‐aged and older adults are explored. Background: Marital satisfaction is known to promote cognitive function. However, previous studies have assumed that the effects of improving and declining marital satisfaction are symmetrical. Method: Using seven waves of data from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging 2006–2018 (N = 7407), we employ a novel asymmetric fixed effects model to estimate the effects of improving and declining marital satisfaction separately. Stratified analyses were conducted by age group and gender. Results: The association between declining marital satisfaction and cognitive function (b = −0.292, p <.001) was stronger than the association between improving marital satisfaction and cognitive function (b = 0.102, p <.001). These asymmetric effects were predominantly driven by older adults. The effect of declining marital satisfaction on cognitive function was significantly greater for older adults than middle‐aged adults (−0.395 vs. −0.148). We did not find gender differences. Conclusion: Findings suggest that the negative impact of declining marital satisfaction on cognitive function outweighs the positive effects of improving marital satisfaction, especially among older adults. The article examines the features of crimes arising from marriage and family relations, and examines modern forms and methods of combating them. Based on the analysis of these forms and methods, problems of preventing and combating crimes arising from marriage and family relations are identified; it is concluded that the main problem is the presence of gaps in the current legislation regulating the area of ​​legal relations under consideration. The authors propose ways to solve the problems of combating crimes arising from marriage and family relations, one of which is the introduction of amendments to the current legislation of the Russian Federation. In conclusion, the authors conclude that crime in the sphere of marriage and family relations cannot be completely eliminated, however, the measures proposed by the authors to combat it can help reduce the rate of its spread in Russian society. Purpose and methods. The purpose of the study is to identify problems of preventing and combating crimes arising from marriage and family relations, and to propose ways to solve them. To achieve this goal, the dialectical method of cognition was used within the framework of the study, providing a scientific approach to the study of phenomena. Results. The main problems of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of combating crimes arising from marriage and family relations have been identified. To increase the effectiveness of the fight against crimes arising from marriage and family relations, ways to improve criminal and family legislation have been proposed. Conclusions. 1) The need to consolidate at the legislative level the concept of “domestic violence” within the framework of the adoption of the federal law on the prevention of domestic violence; 2) consolidating at the legislative level the concept of actual marital relations with a view to possibly classifying their participants as subjects of crimes arising from marital relations; 3) expanding the content of the term “persons close to the victim”, found in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, by including in it all persons living in the same premises with the person who committed the crime and leading a joint household.

Introduction: Enhancing marital relations is the aim of numerous educational and therapeutic interventions for couples. By raising awareness, couples can improve their quality of life and mental health. Objective: The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of relationship enrichment on the quality of life and mental health of couples facing divorce in Kerman. Materials and Methods: The study employed a semi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measures, including a control group. The statistical population comprised couples seeking psychological services at Kerman city's counseling centers, who were referred to judicial centers for divorce in 2022. A total of 30 participants (15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group) were selected through availability sampling. Data collection utilized quality of life and Goldberg mental health questionnaires, alongside an educational intervention. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and covariance analysis with SPSS version 24, considering a p-value of less than 0.05 as significant. Results: In the test group, the mean and standard deviation of mental health scores were 36.62±6.98 in the pre-test and 52.25±7.36 in the post-test. Similarly, the mean and standard deviation of quality of life scores in the test group were 38.5±5.55 in the pre-test and 43.25±7.23 in the post-test (P<0.01). The results of the covariance analysis indicated that relationship enrichment positively affected both the mental health and quality of life of couples facing divorce (P< 0.01). Conclusion: The findings of this research indicate that relationship enrichment training is an effective intervention for enhancing both the quality of life and mental health of couples facing divorce. Introduction: The shift in traditional family roles has led to a complex understanding of power within the family, and couple interactions have undergone significant changes. Given the lack of knowledge in this field and its culturally oriented nature, this research was conducted to elucidate the concept of power perception in Iranian couples' marital relationships and present a theoretical model. Method: This qualitative study used data-based analysis among Iranian couples in 2022. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews (in pairs and individually) with 11 couples until data saturation was reached. Data analysis was performed using MAXQDA 20 software. Results: This research identified 18 secondary themes, 10 main themes, and one central category consistent across both study groups. The constitutive and effective concepts on the perception of power in couples included personal sufficiency, causal attitudes, dos and don'ts, personality and demographic characteristics, growth and unconscious conflicts, and subsequent strategies of perceived power. Ultimately, improving the quality of life and confusion in marital relations were two categories obtained within the framework of the consequences of power perception. Additionally, the central category of situational power-attachment fusion was identified. Conclusion: The results of this research demonstrated the significant impact of power perception on couples' quality of life. Given that this issue encompasses culture and society, educational measures in power perception in marital relationships are paramount and warrant further attention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There is a burgeoning literature that investigates the effects of religion on relationship dissolution. This study is distinguished from prior scholarship in three broad areas: The investigation estimates the effect of religion on relationship stability using multiple measures of religious affiliation and religious observance; it is based on information of the respondent and their partner for both cohabiting and marital relationships; and it is performed using multiple waves of a large‐scale nationally representative panel data set, the Household Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey. It addresses key limitations, such as: the use of a single measure of religion, a tendency to only use married individual data, and an overreliance on cross‐sectional data. The results indicate that intrafaith couples tend to have a higher degree of relationship stability than other couple types; although, once other factors are controlled for, this effect is no longer statistically significant. We also find religiosity, in particular, religious attendance has a large positive effect on stability in intrafaith couples but can lower stability in interfaith and mixed couples. Au cours des dernières années, les avancées technologiques ont entraîné d'importantes transformations dans les dynamiques relationnelles, en particulier en ce qui concerne les mécanismes de surveillance et d'abus au sein des relations conjugales. Ces évolutions technologiques ont simplifié et élargi les possibilités de contrôle dans les relations conjugales, donnant ainsi lieu à l'émergence de nouvelles formes de coercition, notamment les cyberviolences sexuelles. Dans le cadre de cet entretien avec Jean-Pierre Bouchard, Alexandre Gauthier, Andréanne Lapierre, Tamsin Higgs et Marina Sorochinski explorent cette nouvelle forme de coercition en abordant : sa définition ; son ampleur ; les motivations et les caractéristiques des auteurs de ces violences ; les conséquences de cette forme de violence sur les victimes ; ainsi que les aspects juridiques entourant ces violences. In recent years, technological advancements have led to significant transformations in relational dynamics, particularly regarding surveillance mechanisms and abuse within marital relationships. These technological developments have simplified and expanded the possibilities of control in marital relationships, giving rise to the emergence of new forms of coercion, notably cyber sexual violence. In this interview with Jean-Pierre Bouchard, Alexandre Gauthier, Andréanne Lapierre, Tamsin Higgs, and Marina Sorochinski explore this new form of coercion by addressing its definition, scope, motivations, and characteristics of the perpetrators of such violence, the consequences of this form of violence on victims, as well as the legal aspects surrounding these acts. Divorce rate increases in Latin America and their impact on the society, makes it a priority to study marital stability factors. The objective of this study was to delve into the relevance of premarital education, attitudes towards marriage, religious commitment, conflict resolution styles and finance management in explaining marital stability. Quantitative, descriptive and correlational research with 783 respondents with at least three years of marriage, in Colombia and Mexico, of which 40 % were men and 60 % women of diverse ages and heterosexual marital union types. Results suggested that conflict avoidance conflict resolution style was the variable with most weight on explaining marital stability, for men, and women, in Colombia, while an attitude of searching for conflict was the most important and significant in a negative sense for Mexico. Men tended more to avoid conflict than women and adults over 42 years showed a higher religious commitment. Colombia and Mexico are countries afflicted by violence; thus, it is necessary to consider the promotion of conflict resolution styles from within marital relations and the family which may contribute to the wellbeing of spouses and reduction of intimate partner violence. There is a dire need to open a new chapter of constructive marital conflict resolution styles which may foster peace processes and the strengthening of marital and other relations in these countries. Whereas sharing a life with someone with high cynical hostility can be straining, little is known about how partner's cynical hostility is associated with one's mental health. In this paper, we report the findings from a longitudinal dyadic study using two waves of a large and representative American sample of older adults and their spouses to examine how one's own and their spouse's cynical hostility longitudinally affect anxiety and depressive symptoms. Results from APIM analyses suggest that both husbands' and wives' anxiety and depressive symptoms were negatively associated with their own cynical hostility, both within each time point and longitudinally. Partners' cynical hostility, however, predicted only husbands' mental health cross-sectionally. Furthermore, a moderating effect was identified, although it was not consistently observed across all analyses. Specifically, when a partner's cynical hostility was high, the association between one's own cynical hostility and their mental health was stronger, especially for women. Utilizing criminal records from the secular courts, this article examines incidents of sexual relations between parents and their biological children or stepchildren—both of which were considered incestuous under Spanish law—to explore how marriage and the marital relationship could motivate or rationalize episodes of parent-child incest in colonial Guatemala. Examination of parent-child incest through this lens shows how sons and daughters could become entangled in the sexual and emotional lives of their parents, providing a more nuanced view of the lived experience of kinship in colonial Latin America. It also demonstrates how incestuous offenders and their peers could allude to the culture of marriage and the state of the conjugal bond to both subtly and explicitly diminish the incestuous aspects of a sexual encounter, rendering it more culturally intelligible in the process. The literature on marriage supports teaching essential skills to enhance relationship quality and prevent divorce. However, limited marriage and relationship curricula tailored for African cultures, especially within the South African context, are currently available. This study aimed to redress gaps in literature and practice, outlining elements for inclusion into a marriage enrichment program (MEP) grounded on PREP 8.0 (Prevention and Relationship Education Program) and current baseline research conducted in South Africa. A qualitative descriptive phenomenological design was utilized, using face‐to‐face interviews with leaders and social services practitioners (SSPs) and a pilot study with couples, all sampled purposively. Findings show that (1) Black Africans are in high need of MEPs, revealed through intense gratitude and (2) a prerequisite for positive outcomes is the integration of equally necessary traditional contextual components with modern practices, elucidated by practical recommendations. A contextual and culturally relevant MEP is a systematic attempt to improve the functioning of marriage through education, effectively supporting Black Africans to cultivate healthy, stable family relationships. The aims of the current study are to describe the basic family relationships, parental bonding patterns, and dyadic adjustment of families with offspring diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and to explore the correlations between these variables related to family relations and BPD symptomatology. The sample consisted of 194 participants, including parents from the control (N = 76) and clinical group (N = 76), and patients with BPD (N = 42). All progenitors completed a measure of family relations, parental bonding, and dyadic adjustment. Patients completed a measure of parental bonding and borderline symptomatology. The results showed significant differences between both groups in marital and parental functioning, marital satisfaction, dyadic adjustment, and care. Correlations among family variables and BPD symptomatology were also found. In summary, findings underscore the significance of comprehending the complexity of family relationships in BPD while advocating for a relational perspective when examining the family dynamics. Objective: The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy on psychological hardiness and the quality of marital relationships in couples with marital conflicts. Methods and Materials: The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of couples with marital conflicts in Tehran in 2023. Then, 32 couples with marital conflicts were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to the experimental group (16 people) and the control group (16 people). The data collection tools were questionnaires on psychological hardiness and the quality of marital relationships. Subsequently, cognitive-behavioral therapy training was conducted on the experimental group over 8 sessions of 90 minutes each. After the training sessions, post-tests were administered to both the experimental and control groups. Findings: The findings indicated that the post-test scores of the experimental group in psychological hardiness and the quality of marital relationships were significantly better than those of the control group. Objective: Marital infidelity is the primary reason couples seek divorce, leading them to family counseling clinics. The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of schema therapy on marital relationship quality and emotion regulation in couples affected by infidelity. Methods and Materials: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The population included all couples in Nowshahr affected by infidelity in 2023. The sample consisted of 30 couples affected by infidelity (15 for the control group and 15 for the experimental group), selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two groups. Data collection tools were the Busby et al. (1995) Marital Relationship Quality Questionnaire and the Garnefski and Kraaij (2006) Emotion Regulation Questionnaire. For data analysis, mean, standard deviation were used in the descriptive section, and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and SPSS version 26 were employed in the inferential section. Findings: The results showed that schema therapy had a significant effect on marital relationship quality (F = 72.99, P < 0.01) and emotion regulation (F = 51.44, P < 0.01) in couples affected by infidelity. Conclusion: It can be concluded that schema therapy was effective in improving marital relationship quality and emotion regulation in couples affected by infidelity, and can be utilized to reduce psychological problems in such couples. Recent studies have shown that women now abuse drugs as much as men. Women even abuse certain kinds of drugs more than men. There is strong evidence that some married women also engage in drug abuse. However, few studies have explored the experiences of drug addicted wives in Nigeria in relation to marital conflicts. In this study, the experiences of drug addicted wives were explored in relation to marital conflicts in Nigeria using a phenomenological research design. A total of 18 married women participated in the study. They were purposively selected from a socially disadvantaged neighborhood of Batcher Estate, Gwarinpa, Abuja, Nigeria. In‐depth interviews (IDI) were used to collect data from the participants. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Two major conclusions were drawn from the study. Drug addiction may cause marital conflicts and vice versa. However, wives abusing drugs without the consent of partners or husbands were more likely to report marital conflicts than those abusing drugs with their partners' consent. Two groups of drug abusers were also discovered: those who were initiated into drug abuse/addiction prior to marriage and those who started taking drugs after marriage. Factors influencing drug abuse/addiction were complex and comprised a combination of psycho‐social and environmental issues. Access to substance‐use disorder (SUD) treatment was, however, impeded by poor knowledge, stigma and shame. Improved access to treatment is an important asset in minimizing drug abuse among married women and its impact on marital conflicts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

While Positive Psychotherapy is influenced by a variety of theories and techniques, it provides a broad perspective to couples by offering a holistic approach and supports them in accordance with their unique needs. Marriage and the relationship between husband and wife in medieval literature have often been analyzed from many different points of view. However, there is an aspect which remains unexplored and this is the analysis from a discursive perspective of the conversation between the knight and his lady before he departs in search of adventures, war or whatever other reason. This study aims to verify if there is any kind of coincidence or similarity in the arguments used by the lady in different texts, when she tries to stop her husband from leaving. Therefore, in the present study conversations concerning the departing of a knight from his lady shall be analyzed in Icelandic, German, French, Catalan and Spanish chivalric texts of the Middle Ages, taking into account the consequences of the knight's departure for the lady, for the knight and for the marriage bond itself. A detailed analysis of the lady's arguments intending to keep the knight by her side seems to lead to a hypothesis concerning the existence of similar arguments across literary texts in different languages. This study investigates the impact of a family law reform in Ethiopia that raises the age of marriage entry for females (among other aspects of the law) on the nutritional intake of the children of affected women. Using the difference-in-differences and event-study strategies, the result suggests that exposure to the reform led to a significant increase in dietary diversity (14 percent increase relative to the mean) and a significant increase in the likelihood of consuming fruits and vegetables, fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin A, green leafy vegetables, and animal-source foods. The effect does not appear to be due to changes in women's economic engagement, such as their agency and outside options. Instead, it seems to imply that the implementation of the reform affects women's social status in terms of their decision-making power over sexual and marital relations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: This interpretive phenomenological analysis study aimed to explore the marriage experience of diaspora Indians who chose to marry a non‐Indian partner and to fill in the literature gap to inform the counseling practices. Background: Diaspora Indians have the lowest level of interracial marriage of any immigrant group living in the United States at about 20%. The resistance to marrying someone of another culture and insufficient empirical research in the field makes it difficult for counselors to adjust counseling services when dealing with diaspora Indian interracial couples. Method: Using interpretivism and phenomenology as the philosophical ground for the research, the researcher explored the subjective experiences of interracial marriage among diaspora Indians through in‐depth interviews, which were transcribed and analyzed using coding and thematic analysis. Results: The results illustrate those cultural issues, based on the differences between the collectivist nature of the Indian American community and the individualist American culture, caused considerable stress on interracial marriage and were the major driver of therapeutic intervention for the interracial couple. Conclusion: The study identified various coping mechanisms that could potentially reduce marital stress among diaspora Indians engaged in interracial marriage. Findings indicate that the cultural perspective should be at the core of counseling services rendered to interracial couples. Implications: Multicultural competence and cultural humility are essential for helping practitioners to understand nuances related to interracial marriage, especially those joining the collectivist diaspora Indian culture with that of more individualistic races and ethnicities in the United States. Future studies in the field may use longitudinal research for observing the evolution of interracial couples while managing their cultural differences and other marital issues. Abstract This study aimed to characterize concepts of continuities and discontinuities in the intergenerational transmission of relational models, as well as marital and parental conflict resolution tactics. This was a qualitative study, in which 12 couples attended a semi-structured interview. Through thematic content analysis, the data was divided into two main themes: Intergenerational Continuities and Intergenerational Discontinuities. The continuities indicated both the repetition of positive and constructive aspects of family models, as well as the prevalence of destructive tactics, such as avoidance between spouses and the use of corporal punishment with the child. The discontinuities revealed a break from negative or destructive patterns and the adoption of positive parenting, in contrast to that of the family of origin.

The history of traditional societies constantly attracts the attention of the research community. The interest of both domestic and foreign scientists is observed both in early historical times and at the present stage. Among the issues of great interest to researchers are the peculiarities of the legal status of women in the traditional society of the peoples of the Caucasus of the XVII–XIX centuries. The author substantiates the relevance and significance of the research topic. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the legal status of women in the traditional society of the peoples of the Caucasus of the XVII–XIX centuries. The article uses general scientific and specific methods of historical and historiographical research, including methods of objectivity and comparative analysis. The article analyzes the specific features of the legal vulnerability of women of the peoples of the Caucasus, in this regard, the status of the status of women according to Adat and Sharia seems interesting. The article provides a brief justification of the role and significance of the development of customary law, since a dual system of customary law (adat) and Sharia has developed in the Caucasus. The analysis of the scientific literature allowed us to conclude that the absence of a state system and state law contributed to the long-term preservation of the adat in the Caucasus. It is postulated that there are three types of customary law: customary law before the reformation (from the XV to the XIX centuries), reformed customary law (from the second half of the XIX to the beginning of the XX centuries) and customary law of the Soviet and post-Soviet period (from 1920 to the 1990s). The article also examines the peculiarities of property and inheritance rights, as well as the formation of feminism as a social movement for women’s rights in the traditional society of the peoples of the Caucasus of the XVII–XIX centuries. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to further improve institutional mechanisms to ensure compliance with Sharia and Adat laws.

Currently the institution of the family and marriage relations is undergoing serious changes due to transformational processes of the Russian society. These changes are reflected in the variability of forms and models of the modern family and the common-law marriage is universally popular.In the context of the modernization of society, traditional gender stereotypes are being eroded, leading to a revision of established behavioral norms and social roles in the family, forming the value-motivational foundations of marriage.The Methods. The works of domestic and foreign scientists who studied the peculiarities of the gender perspective in the system of family and marriage relations have become the theoretical basis of the research. The works of Russian sociologists and the results of an independent sociological study conducted within the framework of this problem have become the empirical basis.The Results. The thesis has been confirmed that the distribution of social roles between a man and a woman in a common-law marriage is contradictory, revealing the features of the gender display, significantly different from the traditional system of gender interaction.Practical significance. The conducted research confirms the need to create a comprehensive system of knowledge about the family, prepare the younger generation for future family and marriage relations that contribute to the preservation of the basic values of the traditional family.

Background: Sexual problems and diminished sexual quality of life can adversely affect the physical, psychological, and emotional health of women. The present study was done to determine the social intermediate factors of health associated with sexual quality of life in women of reproductive age. Design: Systematic review and Meta-analysis. Data sources: Embase, Web of Science, PubMed/Medline (NLM), ProQuest, and CENTRAL. Eligibility criteria: Observational studies (cross-sectional, case-control, cohort) from 2010 to 2022 with no language constraints were included. The sexual quality of life, as the main variable of the study, has been evaluated using Symonds women's sexual quality of life scale (SQOL-F). The health social determinants intermediate factors based on WHO model were considered as exposure variables. Data extraction and synthesis: The data of included studies were extracted by two independent persons through a researcher-made checklist according to the study aims. Quality assessment of studies was done using Newcastle-Ottawa instrument. R software (Version R-4.2.1) were used for meta-analysis. Publication bias was evaluated by Egger & Begg tests. Sensitivity analysis was done through one-out remove approach. Results: Eventually, 15 studies were eligible to be included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. Variables of depression, quality of marital relation, body image, self-esteem, physical activity, and sexual function were among the health social intermediate factors associated with sexual quality of life. Publication bias had no effect on the obtained results; no study affecting the results was found through sensitivity analysis. Conclusion: Considering the relationship between modifiable factors and sexual quality of life, it seems that identification of these factors can be an important step towards designing interventional studies to help women experience enhanced sexual quality of life. This qualitative study investigated the cohabitation experience of eight young adult couples during in the pandemic and its repercussions on marital life. Semi structured interviews were conducted, six in-person and two online, with childfree heterosexual couples living together for less than three years. The reflexive thematic analysis generated three themes: pandemic-related challenges and difficulties, couple bonding, gains and learnings. Increased levels of stress, insecurity and anxiety, a sense of of overload and deprivation due to social distancing measures, difficulties in delimiting individual spaces within the home and an increase in marital conflicts were the main challenges reported. Conversely, the ability to collaboratively cope with these challenges resulted in more intimacy and strengthened the marital bond, generating greater couple commitment. Brock is a book that explores the metaphysics of natural law in the context of Thomas Aquinas's philosophy. This study aimed to understand the repercussions of prison for female companions of imprisoned men. Twelve female companions of male prisoners participated in the study. Data were collected through a sociodemographic data questionnaire and a semi-structured interview, and submitted to Thematic Analysis. There was an important change in the women's entire lives after the arrest of their partners, considering experiences directly related to prison, as well as repercussions on their lives in general, which went beyond direct contact with the prison context. It is considered necessary to highlight the processes to which these women are exposed, as well as to legitimize their experiences, intertwined in a process of significant increase in incarceration in Brazil. In this article, I attempt to analyze the motif of marital violence shown in Mieczysław Srokowski’s modernist novel Their Secret, paying attention to the deeply rooted social and psychological aspects of this phenomenon. In the first part of the article, I present the issue of violence, focus on the tyranny and aggression shown, briefly describe their causes, and also present a biographical outline of the author of the novel in question. The main part of the article refers to the analysis and interpretation of the characters' behavior, as well as a psychological exploration of the phenomenon of violence, which reveals to the reader the complexity of marital relations in a world dominated by men. I discuss the important motif of the fatal man appearing in the novel and reveal how man was trapped in social expectations that often led to growing conflict and aggression. In the final part of the article, I emphasize that modernist novels were not only mirrors of social realities, but also a tool for reflection on the nature of violence in marriage and its impact on individuals. Objectives: This is from the most important study in Iraq that investigates the psychological alienation related to problematic internet use in married female students. Methodology: The descriptive correlational study design is carried out by questioning individuals of the research population to describe the phenomena simply in terms of its type and degree of existence. Asking study participants about their problematic internet use, level of psychological alienation and emotional divorce, and how the descriptive approach is used. Since the problem of the study is related to the present, and its study will be done through direct asking, as well as this study aims to stop at the limit of description and correlation between study variables (problematic internet use vs. level of psychological alienation and emotional divorce). This study started from 10th November 2022 to 20th December 2023. and was approved by the council of the College of Nursing before the initiation of the study and distribution of the questionnaires to be completed by the sample, the targeted setting (Kerbala University). Results: the results show that there is a positive correlation between problematic internet use and psychological alienation. This indicates that the greater the use of the Internet, the greater the percentage of psychological alienation among the sample of women who underwent the research. Conclusion: This study aimed to bridge this gap by providing a more comprehensive overall picture of this issue through a quantitative synthesis. more than half of students who have met to some extent of problematic internet use have an average level of psychological alienation among married female students.
