Large regeneration and transformation projects generally include a longer timespan as an aspect that makes way for more uncertainty and unexpected changes. We introduce transformative resilience as a place-based approach that can help planners and practitioners adapt to changes and challenges in urban regeneration and can be used proactively to bring certain pliability into planning, implementing and decision-making processes. This allows for intermittent actions to regularly evaluate the outcomes and include the involvement of relevant parties. Based on findings from a comparative study carried out in Norway on two former industrial sites situated in historic cities undergoing transformation, we discuss how planners can prepare for unexpected and unforeseen challenges. This study examines the experiences of local government councilors between 2013–2020 in four provinces of Pakistan. The study addresses three key questions: Firstly, it investigates the differences and commonalities in the local government structures across provinces and explores the potential for synchronization to enhance the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. Secondly, it examines the main challenges local councilors face in effectively delivering basic services, including water, sanitation, health, education, waste management, and transport, within both rural and urban contexts. Lastly, the study analyses the necessary changes or reforms at the provincial level within the existing local government system in rural and urban areas to ensure the delivery of basic services in alignment with SDGs. The findings reveal that a powerful bureaucracy and political influence at the intermediate to upper levels of the government hierarchy exert significant control over administrative, fiscal, and political. Purpose: This paper aims to critically reflect the current specialist discourse on experiential approaches to higher education for sustainable development (HESD). Limitations to the current discourse are identified, and as a result, an alternative approach to the study of experiential education (EE) within HESD is suggested. Design/methodology/approach: Three research questions are addressed by analysing the literature on EE and experiential learning (EL) within HESD in specialist academic journals. Findings: There is a consensus among authors regarding the appropriateness of experiential approaches to HESD. However, limitations to the current discourse suggest the need for an alternative approach to studying EE within HESD. Therefore, this paper proposes the application of the learning landscape metaphor to take a more student-centred and holistic perspective. Originality/value: The learning landscape metaphor has previously not been applied to EE within HESD. This alternative conceptualisation foregrounds student perspectives to experiential initiatives within HESD. The holistic approach aims to understand the myriad influences on students learning, while allowing examination of how experiential approaches relate to other educational approaches within HESD.

The secret keys produced by current image cryptosystems, which rely on chaotic sequences, exhibit a direct correlation with the size of the image. As the image dimensions expand, the generation of extensive chaotic sequences in the encryption and decryption procedures becomes more computationally intensive. Secondly, a common problem in existing image encryption schemes is the compromise between privacy and efficiency. Some existing lightweight schemes reveal patterns in encrypted images, while others impose heavy computational burdens during encryption/decryption due to the need for large chaotic sequences. In this study, we introduce a lightweight image encryption scheme that involves partitioning the image into uniformly sized tiles and generating a chaotic sequence accordingly. This approach diminishes the necessity to create extensive chaotic sequences equal to the tile size, which is significantly smaller than the original image. As a result, it alleviates the processing burden associated with generating sequences equivalent to the original image size. The results confirm that our proposed scheme is lightweight and secure compared to the latest state-of-the-art image encryption schemes. Additionally, sensitivity analysis demonstrates that the proposed image encryption technique, with a UACI value of 33.48 and NPRC value of 99.96, affirms its resistance to differential attacks. The efficiency of a spatiotemporal data analysis algorithm decreases as the amount of data increases. Many clustering techniques have been proposed for data analysis applications. However, applying those techniques to spatiotemporal data clustering is still in its infancy. In this paper, we tackle the issue of clustering spatiotemporal data on public Cloud based on the distance between them. To increase the efficiency of spatiotemporal clustering, we have proposed a MapReduce-based framework for clustering. However, as spatiotemporal dataset contains sensitive information, directly outsourcing spatiotemporal data to Cloud servers will raise privacy concerns. To address the problem of privacy, we have proposed a privacy preserving clustering algorithm based on MapReduce for spatiotemporal data that can be efficiently outsourced for data processing on the Cloud servers. The proposed scheme allows the clustering operation to be performed directly on the encrypted spatiotemporal data by Cloud server. The proliferation of deluding data such as fake news and phony audits on news web journals, online publications, and internet business apps has been aided by the availability of the web, cell phones, and social media. Individuals can quickly fabricate comments and news on social media. The most difficult challenge is determining which news is real or fake. Accordingly, tracking down programmed techniques to recognize fake news online is imperative. With an emphasis on false news, this study presents the evolution of artificial intelligence techniques for detecting spurious social media content. This study shows past, current, and possible methods that can be used in the future for fake news classification. Two different publicly available datasets containing political news are utilized for performing experiments. Sixteen supervised learning algorithms are used, and their results show that conventional Machine Learning (ML) algorithms that were used in the past perform better on shorter text classification. In contrast, the currently used Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and transformer-based algorithms perform better on longer text. Additionally, a brief comparison of all these techniques is provided, and it concluded that transformers have the potential to revolutionize Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods in the near future.
