Polish-Mexican relations on the political, economic, cultural and scientific levels have developed over the decades. The first political contacts between our two countries, after Poland regained its independence, were established in the 1920s. However, interstate contacts have not been developed on a larger scale. This was due, among others, to the fact that the Latin American countries did not occupy a priority position in Polish foreign policy neither before or after World War II. After 1990, Mexico became one of Poland's most important Latin American partners. The Polish-Mexican trade exchange has been growing systematically. In 2015, it exceeded USD 1 billion for the first time in history. In April 2017 the first, historic visit at the highest level of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, took place in Mexico. It was a positive manifestation of the need to strengthen relations at the highest level and to testify the political will to intensify Poland's relations with Mexico. In the second decade of the 21st century, we can talk about a "new opening" in Polish-Mexican relations. This manifests itself in both political and economic as well as cultural and scientific contacts. This article shows the most important manifestations of Poland's relations with Mexico in the first and second decade of the 21st century with some references to previous years. In recent years, there has been a gradual denial in Mexican foreign policy both about the human rights violations that are taking place within the country and also about the role of human rights organizations and international bodies that denounce the violations. This confrontational and regressive foreign policy has serious consequences for the defense of human rights in Mexico, making it increasingly difficult for human rights defenders to work safely and legitimately. Consequently, Mexican civil society organisations are seeking strategies to highlight abroad the serious situation and to generate alliances with national and international actors in order to protect themselves when they denounce and attempt to reverse Mexican policy on the matter. The article focuses on the relationship between two economies of Latin America including Brazil and Mexico in the 21st century. Various topics discussed include multilateral bodies of both countries, competition between them, its impact on their economic conditions, future relationship scenarios between two countries and similarity in domestic problems of both. It further discusses future of their relation, scandals involved in internal politics of Brazil, 2018 elections in both countries and political change over there.

Historically, relations between Brazil and Mexico have not been particularly close. One of the consequences of Brazil's rise was to draw the two countries together, although not necessarily in a harmonious way. The article argues that Mexican governments resented Brazil's attempts at becoming a global player at a time when they pursued the same goal. This study assesses the extent to which individual levels of trust in foreigners relate to preferences about regional transnational policies. We use a nationally representative survey from Mexico (2003), an emerging democracy with relatively high levels of nationalism and several multinational trade agreements. We argue that clarifying the target of social trust is essential for understanding the attitudes of citizens of less powerful countries toward the international policy realm. Statistical analysis strongly suggests that in fact trust in foreigners, above generalized trust, is key to understanding such attitudes. Our results indicate that trust in foreigners among Mexican respondents is positively associated with support for open immigration policies, the North American Free Trade Agreement, and political union with the United States. The author reflects on the economic and political condition of Mexico in relation to its structural reforms and its partnership with the European Union (EU). He outlines the scope of the structural reforms, which were launched since Enrique Pena Nieto assumed as president of the country, including fiscal reform, labour reform and energy reform. The author also points out the large market of Mexico, its vision and leadership and energy capacity in making as key partner for the EU.

Colombia and Mexico have had differences and similarities in their foreign policy over the past ten years. They share a close relationship with the United States, common security issues and the elaboration of an economic diplomacy. The two countries have been considered stable democracies. Circumstances related to the states' characteristics and the narrowness of the political regime make them similar in terms of the low intensity of democratic diplomacy. La continuidad progresiva de la política económica neoliberal ha puesto las condiciones de la violencia estructural que hoy padece la sociedad mexicana. Ante la grave desatención de las necesidades populares y el desamparo institucional, los actores sociales y la población en general asumen el lenguaje de los derechos y encuentran en la protesta una vía para ser escuchados y reclamar su reconocimiento y observancia efectiva. En medio de la batalla en contra de las injusticias y los poderes salvajes, las manifestaciones públicas, al igual que otras formas de expresión de la inconformidad y el hartazgo, asumen la lucha por los derechos y se convierten en mecanismos socialmente necesarios para su resguardo y exigencia. The article discusses visits to Mexico and Cuba made in May 2013 by a delegation of Russia's Federation Council led by Russian Federation Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko. It discusses the the foreign policies of the Russian Federation with regard to Latin America, international cooperation between Russia and Latin America, and efforts to utilize business partnerships in industries such as energy, engineering, and space exploration.
