AbstractHypoxia may promote tumor progression, and hypoxically altered noncoding RNA (ncRNA) expression may play a role in metastasis. Canine oral melanoma (COM) frequently metastasizes, and ncRNA expression under hypoxia may be clinically significant. We aimed to elucidate ncRNA fragments whose expression is altered by hypoxia in COM-derived primary KMeC and metastatic LMeC cell lines using next-generation sequencing to validate these results in qRT-PCR, and then compare expression between metastatic and non-metastatic COM. The NGS analysis and subsequent qRT-PCR validation were performed using hypoxic and normoxic KMeC and LMeC cells, and clinical samples [tumor tissue, plasma, and plasma-derived extracellular vesicles] obtained from dogs with metastatic or non-metastatic melanoma were analyzed with qRT-PCR. Y RNA was significantly decreased in metastatic LMeC cells versus primary KMeC cells in hypoxic and normoxic conditions. The expression of Y RNA was decreased in dogs with metastatic melanoma versus those with non-metastatic melanoma for all clinical sample types, reflecting the pattern found with hypoxia. Canine oral melanoma (COM) is a common and highly aggressive disease with the potential to model human melanomas. Dysregulated microRNAs represent an interesting line of research for COM because they are implicated in tumor progression. One example is miR-450b, which has been investigated for its molecular mechanisms and biological functions in multiple human cancers, but not human or canine melanoma. Here, we aimed to investigate miR-450b as a potential diagnostic biomarker of COM and its functional roles in metastatic and non-metastatic forms of the disease. We investigated the expression of miR-450b and its target mRNA genes in clinical (tumor tissue and plasma) samples and metastatic and primary-tumor cell lines. Knockdown and overexpression experiments were performed to determine the influence of miR-450b on cell proliferation, migration, colony formation, and apoptosis. miR-450b was significantly upregulated in COM and differentiated between metastatic and non-metastatic tumors, and its potential as a biomarker of metastatic and non-metastatic COM was further confirmed in ROC analysis. miR-450b knockdown promoted cell proliferation, migration, and clonogenicity and inhibited apoptosis, whereas its overexpression yielded the reverse pattern. miR-450b directly binds 3’ UTR of PAX9 mRNA and modulates its function leading to BMP4 downregulation and MMP9 upregulation at the transcript level. Furthermore, we surmised that miR-450b activates the Wnt signaling pathway based on gene ontology and enrichment analyses. We concluded that miR-450b has the potential as a diagnostic biomarker and could be a target candidate for COM treatment.

Many types of real-world information systems, including social media and e-commerce platforms, can be modelled by means of attribute-rich, connected networks. The goal of anomaly detection in artificial intelligence is to identify illustrations that deviate significantly from the main distribution of data or that differ from known cases. Anomalous nodes in node-attributed networks can be identified with greater precision if both graph and node attributes are taken into account. Almost all of the studies in this area focus on supervised techniques for spotting outliers. While supervised algorithms for anomaly detection work well in theory, they cannot be applied to real-world applications owing to a lack of labelled data. Considering the possible data distribution, our model employs a dual variational autoencoder (VAE), while a generative adversarial network (GAN) assures the model is robust to adversarial training. The dual VAEs are used in another capacity: as a fake-node generator. Adversarial training is used to ensure that our latent codes have a Gaussian or uniform distribution. To provide a fair presentation of the graph, the discriminator instructs the generator to generate latent variables with distributions that are more consistent with the actual distribution of the data. Once the model has been learned, the discriminator is used for anomaly detection via reconstruction loss it has been trained to distinguish between the normal and artificial distributions of data. First, using a dual VAE, our model simultaneously captures cross-modality interactions between topological structure and node characteristics and overcomes the problem of unlabeled anomalies, allowing us to better understand the network sparsity and nonlinearity. Second, the proposed model considers the regularization of the latent codes while solving the issue of unregularized embedding techniques that can quickly lead to unsatisfactory representation. Finally, we use the discriminator reconstruction loss for anomaly detection as the discriminator is well-trained to separate the normal and generated data distributions because reconstruction-based loss does not include the adversarial component. Experiments conducted on attributed networks demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model and show that it greatly surpasses the previous methods. The area under the curve scores of our proposed model for the BlogCatalog, Flickr, and Enron datasets are 0.83680, 0.82020, and 0.71180, respectively, proving the effectiveness of the proposed model. The result of the proposed model on the Enron dataset is slightly worse than the other models; we attribute this to the dataset's low dimensionality as the most probable explanation.

Machining processes hold a pivotal place in the sphere of modern manufacturing. Thus, constant advancements to enhance their efficiency and sustainability are warranted. This review paper discusses the recent advancements in machining with Minimum Quantity Lubrication and a combination of Nano-Fluids with Minimum quantity lubrication (Nano-Fluid MQL). Recent developments are assessed with particular emphasis on critical parameters such as cutting temperatures, tool wear, and surface quality. In addition, the environmental and economic aspects of using MQL in combination with nano-fluids are discussed. This combinatory approach is evaluated as a sustainable solution in machining. This paper also presents the literature survey of nano-fluids and the application of nano-fluids in MQL.

Abstract Background The surge in digital media consumption, coupled with the ensuing consequences of digital addiction, has witnessed a rapid increase, particularly after the initiation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite some studies exploring specific technological addictions, such as internet or social media addiction, in Bangladesh, there is a noticeable gap in research focusing on digital addiction in a broader context. Thus, this study aims to investigate digital addiction among students taking the university entrance test, examining its prevalence, contributing factors, and geographical distribution using GIS techniques. Methods Data from a cross-sectional survey were collected from a total of 2,157 students who were taking the university entrance test at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. A convenience sampling method was applied for data collection using a structured questionnaire. Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS 25 Version and AMOS 23 Version, whereas ArcGIS 10.8 Version was used for the geographical distribution of digital addiction. Results The prevalence of digital addiction was 33.1% (mean score: 16.05 ± 5.58). Those students who are attempting the test for a second time were more likely to be addicted (42.7% vs. 39.1%), but the difference was not statistically significant. Besides, the potential factors predicted for digital addiction were student status, satisfaction with previous mock tests, average monthly expenditure during the admission test preparation, and depression. No significant difference was found between digital addiction and districts. However, digital addiction was higher in the districts of Manikganj, Rajbari, Shariatpur, and Chittagong Hill Tract areas, including Rangamati, and Bandarban. Conclusions The study emphasizes the pressing need for collaborative efforts involving educational policymakers, institutions, and parents to address the growing digital addiction among university-bound students. The recommendations focus on promoting alternative activities, enhancing digital literacy, and imposing restrictions on digital device use, which are crucial steps toward fostering a healthier digital environment and balanced relationship with technology for students.

Introduction: Informed consent is an essential component in research involving human participants. However, the informed consent obtained may be incomplete and not fulfill the essential criteria of Informed Consent Forms (ICFs). Although the guidelines for developing ICFs have been clearly spelled out by various research bodies, these guidelines are not followed completely. Aim: To analyse the ICFs submitted to the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of a Medical Institute in Southern India. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional observational study analysing ICFs submitted to the IEC of McGann District Teaching Hospital, Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Shivamogga, Karnataka, India, for the period 2014 to January 2023. All research projects containing ICFs during the study period were included in the study. Of the research projects submitted, only 70 had ICFs, and these were subjected to analysis as per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines criteria. The criteria for ICFs were: statement of research, purpose/methods of the study, duration/frequency of the study, benefits to participants/community, foreseeable risks, discomfort/inconvenience, confidentiality, payment/reimbursement for participation. In addition to these, ICFs were also analysed for additional elements as per ICMR criteria for tissue and blood samples. The results were then subjected to descriptive statistical analysis and presented as mean and percentages. Results: Many of the required essential elements were present in nearly 50% of ICFs submitted to the IEC, which include information on the basic purpose/methods of the study 70 (100%), identity of the principal investigator/research team 57 (81.42%), freedom to participate/withdraw from the study 55 (78.57%), confidentiality of records 54 (77.14%), and foreseeable risks, discomfort, and inconvenience to participants 35 (50%). Other essential elements like benefits were present to participants/community 28 (40%), payment/reimbursement for participation 28 (40%), duration and frequency 12 (17.14%), statement of research 9 (12.85%), treatment/compensation for injury 4 (5.71%). Regarding additional elements of ICFs for biological samples, ICFs adhered to the ICMR requirements except none of the submitted forms had any information on the period of storage of biological samples. Conclusion: The ICF is an essential requirement for conducting research. Ensuring adherence of ICF to guidelines is important from a research perspective. The present study concludes that the majority of the essential elements were present in ICFs with a few exceptions like study as research and information on the storage of biological samples, which was nil.

SIV and HIV-based envelope V1-deleted (ΔV1) vaccines, delivered systemically by the DNA/ALVAC/gp120 platform, decrease the risk of mucosal SIV or SHIV acquisition more effectively than V1-replete vaccines. Here we investigated the induction of mucosal and systemic memory-like NK cells as well as antigen-reactive ILC response by DNA/ALVAC/gp120-based vaccination and their role against SIV/SHIV infection. ΔV1 HIV vaccination elicited a higher level of mucosal TNF-α+ and CD107+ memory-like NK cells than V1-replete vaccination, suggesting immunogen dependence. Mucosal memory-like NK cells, systemic granzyme B+ memory NK cells, and vaccine-induced mucosal envelope antigen-reactive IL-17+ NKp44+ ILCs, IL-17+ ILC3s, and IL-13+ ILC2 subsets were linked to a lower risk of virus acquisition. Additionally, mucosal memory-like NK cells and mucosal env-reactive IFN-γ+ ILC1s and env- reactive IL-13+ ILC2 subsets correlated with viral load control. We further observed a positive correlation between post-vaccination systemic and mucosal memory-like NK cells, suggesting vaccination enhances the presence of these cells in both compartments. Mucosal and systemic memory-like NK cells positively correlated with V2-specific ADCC responses, a reproducible correlate of reduced risk of SIV/HIV infection. In contrast, an increased risk was associated with the level of mucosal PMA/Ionomycin-induced IFN-γ+ and CD107+ NKG2A-NKp44- ILCs. Plasma proteomic analyses demonstrated that suppression of mucosal memory-like NK cells was linked to the level of CCL-19, LT-α, TNFSF-12, and IL-15, suppression of systemic env-reactive granzyme B+ memory-like NK cells was associated with the level of OLR1, CCL-3, and OSM, and suppression of IL-17+ ILCs immunity was correlated with the level of IL-6 and CXCL-9. In contrast, FLT3 ligand was associated with promotion of protective mucosal env-reactive IL-17+ responses. These findings emphasize the importance of mucosal memory-like NK cell and envelope- reactive ILC responses for protection against mucosal SIV/SHIV acquisition.

The pursuit of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050 has led to the implementation of green technologies in the maritime industry. One crucial aspect is the adoption of alternative fuels, with a focus on non-fossil fuels to enhance energy efficiency and minimize emissions during ship operations. This study explores the innovative dual fuel diesel – Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technology, which offers relatively low emissions with uncomplicated modifications to the diesel engine. CNG is injected into the intake manifold, addressing the need for cleaner fuel options. However, the evolution of this technology has encountered challenges such as methane slip resulting from incomplete combustion. This research proposes an intervention using hydrogen within the combustion chamber to improve combustion quality. Oxy-hydrogen gas (HHO), a carbon-free fuel derived from water through electrolysis, is considered as a potential solution. The utilization of HHO serves as a substitute for pure H2 due to its more feasible production and application, considering the global limitations in hydrogen storage and usage in transportation. The study aims to investigate the impact of HHO on the performance and emissions of dual fuel engines. Experimental tests are conducted under low loads to simulate critical operational points of the engine. Results indicate that the dual fuel system exhibits significant fuel savings, particularly with increasing injection duration. However, the need for additional oxygen to enhance combustion perfection must be balanced. HHO injection demonstrates the potential to improve engine performance, leveraging the oxygen content in HHO and the positive characteristics of hydrogen with its high Lower Heating Value (LHV). Furthermore, the research suggests that HHO injection can mitigate methane slip issues associated with dual fuel engine operations, offering a promising avenue for emission reduction

Abstract Background Mucopolysaccharidosis type II (MPS II), or Hunter syndrome, is a rare X-linked metabolic disorder predominantly affecting males. Pabinafusp alfa, an iduronate-2-sulfatase enzyme designed to cross the blood-brain barrier, was approved in Japan in 2021 as the first enzyme replacement therapy targeting both the neuropathic and somatic signs and symptoms of MPS II. This study reports caregivers’ experiences of MPS II patients receiving pabinafusp alfa through qualitative interviews. Methods Semi-structured, qualitative interviews were conducted with caregivers at seven clinical sites in Japan using a semi-structured moderation guide (Voice of the Caregiver guide). Thematic analysis was applied to the interview transcripts to identify symptoms and health-related quality of life impacts at baseline, changes during treatment, and overall treatment experience. Results Seven caregivers from 16 trial sites participated, representing seven children aged 8–18 years who had received pabinafusp alfa for 3.3–3.5 years at the time of the interviews. Data suggest a general trend toward improvement in multiple aspects, although not all caregivers observed discernible changes. Reported cognitive improvements included language skills, concentration, self-control, eye contact, mental clarity, concept understanding, following instructions, and expressing personal needs. Further changes were reported that included musculoskeletal improvements and such somatic changes as motor function, mobility, organ involvement, joint mobility, sleep patterns, and fatigue. Four caregivers reported improvements in family quality of life, five expressed treatment satisfaction, and all seven indicated a strong willingness to continue treatment of their children with pabinafusp alfa. Conclusion Caregivers’ perspectives in this study demonstrate treatment satisfaction and improvement in various aspects of quality of life following therapy with pabinafusp alfa. These findings enhance understanding of pabinafusp alfa’s potential benefits in treating MPS II and contribute to defining MPS II-specific outcome measures for future clinical trials.

Bimbingan dari pelatih juga memiliki peran dalam mencapai prestasi tersebut. Kualitas atlet merupakan faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan atlet. Pekan Olahraga Pelajar Daerah (POPDA) menjadi ajang dalam pembinaan dan pembibitan atlet pelajar yang berpotensi. Kota Surakarta mengalami peningkatan prestasi setiap tahunnya. Keberhasilan atlet dipengaruhi oleh faktor seperti kualitas atlet, kualifikasi dan intensitas pelatih, program dan jadwal latihan, serta kompetisi dan sarana prasarana yang tersedia. Penelitian ini menjelaskan pentingnya prestasi atlet dan faktor yang mempengaruhinya, termasuk pembinaan atlet, dukungan sosial, dan sistem regulasi. Studi penelitian menggunakan Pekan Olahraga Pelajar Daerah (POPDA) di Kota Surakarta sebagai ajang pembinaan atlet pelajar di tingkat provinsi dan nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan data tentang prestasi olahraga pelajar oleh Dispora Kota Surakarta. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Dispora melakukan seleksi dalam merekrut atlet, memiliki program Kelas Khusus Olahraga (KKO), dan bekerja sama dengan guru olahraga. Pelatih dengan lisensi atau sertifikat, menjadi faktor penting dalam pembinaan atlet. Keberhasilan atlet POPDA Kota Surakarta didukung oleh sarana prasarana yang berkualitas, pemberian insentif, dan reward. Fasilitas yang memadai merupakan sumber daya penting dalam pembinaan atlet Kota Surakarta, dan perlu dilakukan peningkatan pengelolaannya sesuai dengan standar nasional yang berlaku.

Background and Aim: Campylobacter infections in sheep may be asymptomatic or cause enteritis, ileitis, infertility, and abortion. Thus, this study aimed to estimate the prevalence of Campylobacter spp. in farming sheep and to detect risk factors, molecular patterns, and antimicrobial susceptibility status of these pathogens. Materials and Methods: Four hundred and eight fecal samples were collected from 12 flocks in the Mymensingh and Sherpur districts. Samples were tested by both basic (culture and biochemical tests) and molecular (initially 16S rRNA and later hipO gene-based polymerase chain reaction). Furthermore, the antimicrobial susceptibility status of Campylobacter jejuni was confirmed using disk diffusion. Flock- and animal-level data were captured using semi-structured interviews with farm owners under bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses to confirm the risk factors for Campylobacter-positive status. Results: The prevalence of C. jejuni staining at the animal and flock levels was 8.82% (36/408) and 66.70% (8/12), respectively. The age of sheep was identified as an important risk factor. Up to 1 year of age, sheep were 3.78 times more likely to be infected with C. jejuni (95% confidence interval: 1.0736–13.3146, p = 0.038). Of the 36 isolates of C. jejuni, all were found to be fully susceptible (100%) to gentamicin and ciprofloxacin. In this study, three antimicrobial agents, oxytetracycline, azithromycin, and ceftriaxone, were fully resistant (100%). The majority of isolates were resistant to a combination of 4–6 antimicrobial agents. Conclusion: The present study highlights the predominant maintenance of zoonotic Campylobacter species in sheep, and their burden on human health is enormous. Therefore, environmental, animal, and human health needs to be focused under a One Health lens to mitigate the occurrence of Campylobacter in farm settings and to prevent further introduction to animals and humans.

During times of crisis, like in healthcare emergencies or disruptions in logistics and supply chains, decision-makers encounter significant challenges in managing resources efficiently. This study proposes an approach combining different information types and advanced computer techniques to improve how we handle crises. By looking at data connected with blockchain technology, we aim to understand crises better and help people make smarter decisions. We use a special kind of computer model called Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) to guess what might happen during a crisis, like how many people might get sick or if there might be problems with getting supplies. Our model is right about 87% of the time. To understand why the computer makes these guesses, we use a method called SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), which is widely known. However, we notice that SHAP sometimes doesn’t explain things well for the entire period we’re looking at. So, we suggest some changes to the SHAP method to explain things better for smaller parts of time. These changes help the method explain things better for small bits of time, but it might not be as good at explaining everything overall. To ensure our idea works, we compare our computer model’s guesses and explanations with those from other models that look at data differently. We show the good and bad parts of our method in different crises.

Physical Layer-based Secret Key Generation (PLSKG) between the legitimate nodes from the reciprocal wireless channel is a vastly studied area of Physical Layer Security (PLS). PLSKG aims to secure the wireless link between the legitimate nodes by symmetrically encrypting the wirelessly transmitted information via a secret key that is extracted from the common randomness of the stochastic wireless channel. PLSKG encompasses the intermediate steps of channel sampling, quantization, information reconciliation, and privacy amplification. The PLSKG algorithms are evaluated in terms of quantifiers such as Key Generation Rate (KGR), Key Agreement Probability (KAP), and randomness. The practical PLSKG algorithms (level-crossing algorithms) extract a secret key by analyzing the channel samples and assigning bit sequences to the channel samples lying in different quantization regions. Level-crossing algorithms are lossy and extract a secret key from the central samples of matched excursions between the legitimate nodes. This results in a reduced KGR as there is a scarcity of such matched excursions considering the fast variations of the wireless link between the legitimate nodes. This paper proposes a Two-Round Channel Parsing (TRCP) algorithm that exploits the correlation between the excursion lengths of the channel samples in addition to the sample correlation. TRCP effectively utilize the channel samples by reducing the sample losses incurred by lossy quantizers exploring a new dimension of correlated excursions of the channel samples between legitimate nodes. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed TRCP scheme enhances the KGR and KAP performance of the secret key and also passes the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) test suite of randomness.

Attributed networks are prevalent in the current information infrastructure, where node attributes enhance knowledge discovery. Anomaly detection in attributed networks is gaining attention for its potential uses in cybersecurity, finance, and healthcare. Recognizing the complicated relationship between node attributes and network topology is crucial for attributed network embedding and anomaly detection. Nevertheless, there are few approaches available to directly represent the relationship between these two perspectives of the node property and the network topology. Approaches utilizing the reconstruction error rely on straightforward, simple mappings, which introduce a substantial risk of overfitting in high-dimensional data, wherein the model acquires patterns that are exclusive to the training data and fails to generalize to new data. To do this, we suggest a new way to find graph anomalies on attributed networks using random masking and padding along with sparse canonical correlation analysis. Motivated by the limitations of existing methodologies in effectively addressing these challenges, our research introduces a novel methodology for anomaly detection in attributed networks by leveraging Sparse Canonical Correlation Analysis (SCCA) in conjunction with Random Masking and Padding (RMP). This dual approach uniquely addresses the challenges of high-dimensional data and the sparsity of attributes, which are prevalent issues in anomaly detection. Unlike previous works that primarily focus on either dimensionality reduction or attribute sparsity independently, our method synergizes these aspects to enhance detection performance. Initially, we randomly mask and pad nodes in the attributed network and use the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to map them to latent space. Next, we optimize the distribution alignment of node attributes and graph structure latent space representations by using Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergence regularization, which increases their comparability. Finally, we use sparse canonical correlation analysis (SCCA) to quantify the correlation between node attributes and network structure views in latent space. SCCA incorporates sparsity by making the model choose fewer variables, which adds another level of complexity. It improves interpretability and reduces overfitting in high-dimensional data analysis by highlighting only the key variables. To optimize our model, we maximize the correlation between attribute and structural aspects of normal nodes, and anomalies are detected by measuring the correlation between these two views. Our approach is the first of its kind to provide a novel remedy to the fundamental problems preventing efficient and accurate anomaly identification, thereby establishing a new standard in this field. The proposed model has been extensively tested on four real-world datasets, and its effectiveness has been demonstrated in comparison to state-of-the-art approaches. The empirical evaluation across multiple benchmark datasets validates the potential of the proposed approach as a pivotal tool in advancing anomaly detection research and applications.

Xanthomonas and Stenotrophomonas are closely related genera in the family Lysobacteraceae. In our previous study of aroid-associated bacterial strains, most strains isolated from anthurium and other aroids were reclassified as X. phaseoli and other Xanthomonas species. However, two strains isolated from Spathiphyllum and Colocasia were phylogenetically distant from other strains in the Xanthomonas clade and two strains isolated from Anthurium clustered within the Stenotrophomonas clade. Phylogenetic trees based on 16S rRNA and nine housekeeping genes placed the former strains with the type strain of X. sacchari from sugarcane and the latter strains with the type strain of S. bentonitica from bentonite. In pairwise comparisons with type strains, the overall genomic relatedness indices required delineation of new species; digital DNA–DNA hybridization and average nucleotide identity values were lower than 70 and 95%, respectively. Hence, three new species are proposed: S. aracearum sp. nov. and S. oahuensis sp. nov. for two strains from anthurium and X. hawaiiensis sp. nov. for the strains from spathiphyllum and colocasia, respectively. The genome size of X. hawaiiensis sp. nov. is ~4.88 Mbp and higher than S. aracearum sp. nov. (4.33 Mbp) and S. oahuensis sp. nov. (4.68 Mbp). Gene content analysis revealed 425 and 576 core genes present in 40 xanthomonads and 25 stenotrophomonads, respectively. The average number of unique genes in Stenotrophomonas spp. was higher than in Xanthomonas spp., implying higher genetic diversity in Stenotrophomonas.

Abstract Background Medical thoracoscopy is an essential tool in the evaluation of patients with pleural effusion who remain undiagnosed despite a thorough pleural fluid workup. Malignancy and tuberculosis are the two most common etiologies in such patients having completely different prognoses. Therefore, correct diagnosis is very important before starting treatment. This study was planned to study the yield of rigid thoracoscopy in such patients and to observe its associated complications. Furthermore, the difference in the profile of patients with malignancy and tuberculosis was also evaluated. Methods This was a single-center, exploratory, observational study done between 1st May 2021 to 31st December 2022. Patients with undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion defined as exudative pleural effusions as per Light’s criteria with negative Gene X pert and twice negative pleural fluid cytology for malignancy, underwent rigid thoracoscopy for confirmation of their diagnosis. Results A total of 160 patients, who fulfilled our inclusion criteria, were included in our study. Male to female ratio was 1.25:1, with a mean age of 57.3 years. The most common etiology observed was malignancy, seen in 120 out of 160 patients (75%), followed by tuberculosis, which was seen in 27 (17%) patients. A final diagnosis could be made in 158 patients, giving a diagnostic yield of 98.8%. 11.8% showed procedure-related complications without any mortality. Conclusion Rigid medical thoracoscopy has a very high diagnostic yield with few complications. A significant proportion of patients with straw-colored effusion can present with malignancy and vice versa. A few with ADA above 40 were diagnosed as having malignancy. Therefore, tissue-based biopsy with thoracoscopy can be easily performed to make a correct diagnosis with huge future implications in such patients.

Abstract Holocene evolutionary history of the Banni Plain in the Great Rann of the Kachchh Basin is reconstructed from a subsurface sediment core of ca 50 m. Detailed data on textural and lithofacies variations, grain‐size analysis, environmental magnetism and accelerator mass spectrometry 14C dates on seven samples were generated on the sediment core retrieved from the Banni Plain near Berada. A high‐resolution record extending back to 10 ka has been reconstructed from the top ca 40 m of the core section comprising shallow marine sediments. The core is divisible into five depositional units. The basal part is a fluvial depositional unit followed upward by estuarine, sub‐tidal, intertidal and supra‐tidal environments. The sediment accumulation rate is highest in the sub‐tidal to intertidal facies (1.9 cm year−1) and decreases towards the supra‐tidal facies to 0.09 cm year−1. Environmental magnetic analysis, χlf coupled with the S‐ratio, indicates high magnetic mineral concentrations during the Early Holocene, suggesting a wet period accompanied by high monsoon precipitation. This is followed by the onset of semi‐arid conditions in the Great Rann of the Kachchh Basin as indicated by the low values of the χlf and S‐ratios. A westward and northward shift in the shoreline towards the deeper part of the basin is suggested during the Late Holocene, which is coupled with aridity and reduced monsoonal conditions. The change in depositional pattern from the retrogradational deposit of fluvial (Unit 1) to estuarine sediment (Unit 2), progressing to sub‐tidal (Unit 3), is attributed to sea‐level transgression followed by regressive intertidal (Unit 4) to supra‐tidal deposition (Unit 5), culminating in complete withdrawal of the sea, aided by tectonic uplift, during the Late Holocene. The results reveal that the sediment accumulation rates and depositional environments changed over time in response to changes in sea level from minima to maxima and then eventually to the present level.

Nowadays, heat, ventilation and air conditioning system are an essential part in a building. In order to achieve energy saving, the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system have to enhance the designs of their various types of integrated electrical and mechanical components so that to control and operate plant optimally. This paper presented the development of smart sensor controller for heat, ventilation and air conditioning system by using Arduino. Smart sensor controller can be regarded a device that can control the speed of the motor based on the number of person detected by the infrared sensor. The motor used in this project will represent the fan motor of the normal air conditioner. The objective of the smart sensor controller is to prove the energy saving concept and to reduce the electrical consumption for the HVAC system. The experiment conducted show that the implementation of the smart sensor controller provides an average energy saving efficiency of 45.13 % compare to HVAC system without smart sensor controller.

The reduction of operation and maintenance costs as well as the improvement of reliability of wind energy conversion systems are of top priorities in the renewable energy industry as the demand for wind energy continuously grow tremendously. With that, the condition monitoring system (CMS) plays a crucial role in maximizing the potential of wind energy in generating electricity. Therefore, this review paper vividly captures the fact that the recent advancements in embedded control in CMS in wind energy conversion systems are able deliver tangible benefits to the renewable energy technology (RET) industry as a whole. It is proven that CMS based maintenance is deemed to be more suitable in multiple aspects with fewer drawbacks, as compared to scheduled and corrective maintenance. In this review paper, an attempt to evaluate the viability of CMS is being made. The main purpose is to shed some light on the significant contributions provided by CMS in shortening the downtime and increasing the production rate of the wind energy conversion system. Forthcoming promising applications with good potential to surpass the recent dilemmas were also explored and analyzed at the end of this paper.

Hepatocellular adenoma (HCA) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) can be difficult to differentiate but must be diagnosed correctly as treatment and prognosis for these tumors differ markedly. Relevant diagnostic biomarkers are thus needed, and those identified in dogs may have utility in human medicine because of the similarities between human and canine HCA and HCC. A tRNA-derived fragment (tRF), tRNA-Val, is a promising potential biomarker for canine mammary gland tumors but has not previously been investigated in hepatic tumors. Accordingly, we aimed to elucidate the potential utility of tRNA-Val as a biomarker for canine HCA and HCC using clinical samples (tumor tissue and plasma extracellular vesicles [EVs]) and tumor cell lines with qRT-PCR assays. We also investigated relevant functions and signaling pathways with bioinformatic analyses (Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes). tRNA-Val was markedly downregulated in HCC tumor tissue versus HCA tumor tissue and normal liver tissue, and a similar trend was shown in plasma EVs and HCC cell lines versus healthy controls. Based on areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUCs), tRNA-Val significantly distinguished HCC (AUC = 1.00, p = 0.001) from healthy controls in plasma EVs and HCC from HCA (AUC = 0.950, p = 0.01). Bioinformatics analysis revealed that tRNA-Val may be primarily involved in DNA repair, mRNA processing, and splicing and may be linked to the N-glycan and ubiquitin-mediated proteasome pathways. This is the first report on the expression of tRNA-Val in canine HCC and HCA and its possible functions and signaling pathways. We suggest that tRNA-Val could be a promising novel biomarker to distinguish canine HCC from HCA. This study provides evidence for a greater understanding of the role played by tRNA-Val in the development of canine HCC.

Hypoxia contributes to tumor progression and metastasis, and hypoxically dysregulated RNA molecules may, thus, be implicated in poor outcomes. Canine oral melanoma (COM) has a particularly poor prognosis, and some hypoxia-mediated miRNAs are known to exist in this cancer; however, equivalent data on other hypoxically dysregulated non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are lacking. Accordingly, we aimed to elucidate non-miRNA ncRNAs that may be mediated by hypoxia, targeting primary-site and metastatic COM cell lines and clinical COM tissue samples in next-generation sequencing (NGS), with subsequent qPCR validation and quantification in COM primary and metastatic cells and plasma and extracellular vesicles (EVs) for any identified ncRNA of interest. The findings suggest that a number of non-miRNA ncRNA species are hypoxically up- or downregulated in COM. We identified one ncRNA, the long ncRNA fragment ENSCAFT00000084705.1, as a molecule of interest due to its consistent downregulation in COM tissues, hypoxically and normoxically cultured primary and metastatic cell lines, when compared to the oral tissues from healthy dogs. However, this molecule was undetectable in plasma and plasma EVs, suggesting that its expression may be tumor tissue-specific, and it has little potential as a biomarker. Here, we provide evidence of hypoxic transcriptional dysregulation for ncRNAs other than miRNA in COM for the first time and suggest that ncRNA ENSCAFT00000084705.1 is a molecule of interest for future research on the role of the transcriptome in the hypoxia-mediated progression of this aggressive cancer.

Background Problems: Every child has interests and talents, but are children’s interests and talents, especially in sports, compatible or similar? This research used scientific selection using the Sports Search test to determine the subject’s sports talent. Research Objectives: This research aims to assess the level of sports interest and talent of elementary school students and identify the suitability of elementary school students’ sports interests and talents. Methods: This type of research is quantitative descriptive research with a survey method. Twenty-two elementary school students were involved as subjects in this research using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using surveys, tests, and measurements using instruments like questionnaires and sports search tests. Descriptive statistical analysis was used in this study, and data were expressed in percentages. Findings and Results: The research results were that 95.45% of elementary school students had a high interest in sports, and 4.5.5% had a low interest. As many as 100% of elementary school students have talent in sports. As many as 100% of elementary school students do not have a match between their interests and talents. Conclusion: More in-depth and structured research needs to be carried out in the future to be able to improve students’ performance. Most importantly, it is very important to identify interests and talents from an early age so that there is no mismatch between students’ interests and talents when sports achievement development takes place.

Millimeter Wave (mm-wave) technology is a prerequisite to ensure ubiquitous wireless communication, given the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure that integrates emerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), etc. However, to ensure the future growth and acceptance of this technology, a highly efficient mm-wave compatible transceiver hardware is essential to be developed. A low noise amplifier (LNA) is one of the modules that directly influences the performance of an IoT transceiver. Numerous approaches have thus far been deployed in LNA design, such as differential cascode topology, active inductor, embedded input balun, transformer-based feedback, current reuse, stacked structure, and body biasing, to standardize various parameters e.g. die area, gain, noise figure, linearity, and power efficiency. Although complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) technology-based current LNA architectures in the mm-wave range suffer from substrate losses and device parasitic, it is regarded as a competitive solution for THz communication due to its inherent benefits of low-cost integrity, which promotes CMOS LNA design as an emerging research topic. This review presents several CMOS LNA architectures and perceives the adjustments of circuit topologies to ratify LNA structures in mm-wave applications. Furthermore, various state-of-the-art LNA design features are compared to envision CMOS LNA design directions and identify apposite circuit techniques suitable for the imminent 6G communication protocol. Therefore, this review will serve as a comparative study and reference for the future LNA design for the mm-wave sensor transceiver applications.

Colistin resistance is a global concern warning for a one health approach to combat the challenge. Colistin resistant E. coli and their resistance determinants are widely distributed in the environment, and rats could be a potential source of these isolates and resistant determinants to a diverse environmental setting. This study was aimed to determine the presence of colistin resistant E. coli (CREC) in wild rats, their antimicrobial resistance (AMR) phenotypes, and genotypic analysis of mcr-1 CREC through whole genome sequencing (WGS). A total of 39 rats were examined and CREC was isolated from their fecal pellets onto MacConkey agar containing colistin sulfate (1 μg/ mL). AMR of the CREC was determined by disc diffusion and broth microdilution was employed to determine MIC to colistin sulfate. CREC were screened for mcr genes (mcr-1 to mcr-8) and phylogenetic grouping by PCR. Finally, WGS of one mcr-1 CREC was performed to explore its genetic characteristics especially resistomes and virulence determinants. 43.59% of the rats carried CREC with one (2.56%) of them carrying CREC with mcr-1 gene among the mcr genes examined. Examination of seventeen (17) isolates from the CREC positive rats (n = 17) revealed that majority of them belonging to the pathogenic phylogroup D (52.94%) and B2 (11.76%). 58.82% of the CREC were MDR on disc diffusion test. Shockingly, the mcr-1 CREC showed phenotypic resistance to 16 antimicrobials of 8 different classes and carried the ARGs in its genome. The mcr-1 gene was located on a 60 kb IncI2 plasmid. On the other hand, ARGs related to aminoglycosides, phenicols, sulfonamides, tetracyclines and trimethoprims were located on a 288 kb mega-plasmid separately. The mcr-1 CREC carried 58 virulence genes including genes related to adhesion, colonization, biofilm formation, hemolysis and immune-evasion. The isolate belonged to ST224 and closely related to E. coli from different sources including UPEC clinical isolates from human based on cgMLST analysis. The current research indicates that rats might be a possible source of CREC, and the presence of mcr-1 and other ARGs on plasmid increases the risk of ARGs spreading and endangering human health and other environmental components through this infamous pest.

In this study a coupled-eulerian–lagrangian (CEL) approach has been applied to assess the internal blast loading conditions, for the tunnel built in three layers of sandstone rock. The three weathered stages of sandstone have been considered in this study i.e., slightly, medium and also highly weathered sandstone in three different layers. The sandstone rock weathering increases as we move towards the ground surface from deep subsurface. The elastoplastic finite element model with varied overburden depth with dimensions of 60 m (L × B × H) each to incorporate different parametric cases. An explosive is assumed at the center of the tunnel, with the capacity of hundred kg of trinitrotoluene (TNT), the explosive is assumed to be hanging in the air inside the tunnel opening with equal distance from all sides. The TNT sphere and air that is inside the rock tunnel has been modelled through CEL technique to simulate actual in-situ condition. Through Mohr-Coulomb, Concrete Damage Plasticity, and Johnson-Cook constructive material model the elastoplastic behaviour of different materials like rock, steel bars and concrete has been simulated respectively. The cage of steel bars has been embedded through interaction constraint in concrete liner to produce reinforced concrete liner. In the initial stages of simulation with 5 m of overburden depth the tunnel has been placed in the upper layer of sandstone. For further analysis, the position of the tunnel has been changed for overburden depth of fifteen, twenty-five and thirty-five meter. In accordance with the result of the simulation, for rock in terms of acceleration, velocity, and dis-placement, the depth of the overburden and the displacement of the crown are inversely related. No damage in terms of compression is seen in this simulation, but in all instances, a small damage owing to tensile failure has been noted.

In this study, a time-variant baseline restorer (TV-BLR) circuit was designed and implemented to address the poor frequency selectivity issue in the shaping units of most state-of-the-art readout electronics for CdZnTe/CdTe detectors used in biomedical imaging applications. The proposed circuit improves image quality by canceling the artifacts that result from poor temporal and energy resolution in PET imaging. The proposed circuit consists of a Charge Sensitive Preamplifier (CSP) followed by a classical pole-zero compensation circuit. Two stages of integrators are added and a frequency rectifier module named the TV-BLR circuit has been built. The open-loop amplifier for the CSP is a single-ended input stage amplifier, designed for low-power applications with a maximum power consumption of 43 µW from a 1.2 V supply voltage, verified through post-layout Monte Carlo simulations. The TV-BLR increases the selectivity of the shaping filter, lowers the equivalent noise charge (ENC), and restores the baseline of the circuit to only 143 µV dc-offset. It also extends the counting rate behavior of the system by handling the time-over-threshold (ToT), which depends on the tail current (Itail) of the comparator stage. The circuit was designed, simulated, and validated for an input dynamic of 2–12.5fC, providing an energy range of 55.1–354.3 keV. The design has a charge-to-voltage conversion factor of 56.7 mV/fC with a 4% non-linearity error for an input detector capacitance of 200 fF, while achieving an optimal ENC of 57.4 e − RMS ± 0.1 e−/fC with 13.27 ns peaking time. Process Voltage Temperature (PVT) analysis was performed to validate the simulation results and performance metrics of the design. The proposed design improves energy resolution and avoids energy losses due to the readout system.

Personel pemadam kebakaran (Damkar) dituntut memiliki level kebugaran jasmani di atas rata-rata, untuk menunjang performa di lapangan serta meminimalisir terjadinya cedera. Salah satu komponen kebugaran jasmani yang penting untuk personel pemadam kebakaran adalah daya tahan core muscle. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui ada efektivitas program latihan core stability (PLCS) terhadap peningkatan daya tahan core muscle pada personel damkar. Metode penelitian Quasi Experimental: One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive. Program latihan core stability (PLCS) terdiri dari full plank, side plank alternate, dan single leg bridge diberikan sebanyak 30 sesi latihan, dilakukan 5 kali per minggu, dengan intensitas 65% s.d. 85% dari Denyut Nadi Maksimal, prinsip latihan progressive overload, instrumen penelitian plank test. Penelitian menghasilkan peningkatan daya tahan core muscle menunjukkan kenaikan rata-rata nilai tes Δ149,5 detik, nilai t hitung -4,699, dan signifikansi 2-tailed 0,002 < 0,05. Simpulan penelitian ini program latihan core stability (PLCS) mampu meningkatkan daya tahan core muscle pada personel damkar.

Madura’s foot is a rare infectious granulomatous disease affecting the foot. The incidence of this disease has decreased in recent years due to improved living conditions. However, it can still be misdiagnosed by inexperienced surgeons as other similar conditions. Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial for optimal treatment and limb preservation. In this study, the authors present three unusual cases of Madura’s foot. A 23-year-old woman presented with swelling and draining sinuses in her left foot for six years. Imaging tests including Ultrasonography (USG), Computed Tomography (CT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) revealed the characteristic ‘dot in circle’ sign of Madura’s foot. However, her USG-guided biopsy did not confirm the diagnosis, and it was only through an excisional biopsy that actinomycetoma was confirmed. Another case involved a 60-year-old male with multiple soft tissue swellings on his right foot for 10 years, resulting in foot deformity. Radiographs showed multiple punched-out lytic lesions in the bones, while USG and MRI exhibited the typical ‘dot in a circle’ sign. Histopathological examination confirmed actinomycetoma. The third case involved a 36-year-old male with a chronic sinus discharging yellow pus and black granules on the volar side of his right foot. USG and MRI revealed the classic signs of Madura’s foot, and these findings were correlated with histopathological examination. The present cases confirm the specificity of the ‘dot-in-circle’ sign on MRI and USG, supported by histopathological correlation.

Abstract Date palm is an important domestic cash crop in most countries. Sudden Decline Syndrome (SDS) causes a huge loss to the crop both in quality and quantity. The literature reports the significance of early detection of disease towards preventive measures to improve the quality of the crop. The number of prevailing detection methods limits to consideration of a certain aspect of disease identification. This study proposes a new hybrid fuzzy fast multi-Otsu K-Means (FFMKO) algorithm integrating the date palm image enhancement, robust thresholding, and optimal clustering for significant disease identification. The algorithm adopts a multi-operator image resizing cost function based on image energy and the dominant color descriptor, the adaptive Fuzzy noise filter, and Otsu image thresholding combined with K-Means clustering enhancements. Besides, we validate the process with histogram equalization and threshold transformation towards enhanced color feature extraction of date palm images. The algorithm authenticates findings on a local dataset of 3293 date palm images and, on a benchmarked data set as well. It achieves an accuracy of 94.175% for successful detection of SDS that outperforms the existing similar algorithms. The impactful findings of this study assure the fast and authentic detection of the disease at an earlier stage to uplift the quality and quantity of the date palm and boost the agriculture-based economy.

Based on the observations and explanations of special guidance teachers in schools, inclusive education providers that the form of collaboration between teachers and stakeholders is still diverse. In general, this study aims to find out and obtain information about the implementation of collaboration between teachers and stakeholders in education services for children with special needs in schools providing inclusive education in Sukabumi. This research is a quantitative research. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing questionnaires and recording initial data in the form of records that are understood by researchers without reducing the actual data. The results of the study can be concluded that collaboration in several aspects is still lacking such as teacher collaboration with SLB, teacher collaboration with related experts, lack of teacher collaboration with resource centers, teachers are also still lacking collaboration in carrying out learning activities. Meanwhile, there are several aspects that have begun to develop well, including teacher collaboration with parents, as well as teacher collaboration with special guidance teachers in inclusive schools, although not yet dehydrated, maximum results are expected to be a reference in building good collaboration between teachers and related stakeholders in creating effective learning in inclusive education. This study illustrates that inclusive education in its implementation process requires support from teachers and related stakeholders in order to run optimally.

Masalah: Personel pemadam kebakaran (Damkar) dituntut memiliki komponen kebugaran jasmani diatas rata-rata. Daya ledak otot tungkai merupakan salah satu komponen kebugaran jasmani yang penting untuk personel Damkar. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada efek dari program latihan Kombinasi SAQ dan complex training (KSCT) terhadap power tungkai pada personel pemadam kebakaran. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental, dengan desain penelitian one group pre-test post-test. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive dengan kriteria: 1) Anggota Damkar, 2) Masuk dalam penugasan tim Indonesian Fire & Rescue Challenge, 3) Mampu menyelesaikan program latihan KSCT. Program latihan KSCT diberikan selama 3 minggu dengan frekuensi latihan 2 kali setiap minggu, dengan prinsip latihan progressive overload. Uji statistik dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 26. Hasil: Peningkatan signifikan daya ledak otot tungkai setelah diberikan program latihan KSCT pada personel damkar, pre-test (7,2) dan post-test (7,5), dengan nilai p

Daya tahan otot merupakan salah satu komponen kondisi fisik yang dibutuhkan pemadam kebakaran dalam menjalankan tugas. Daya tahan otot harus dikembangkan dan ditingkatkan karena digunakan untuk melakukan serangkaian gerak kontraksi secara berulang kali dalam waktu yang relatif lama. Salah satu latihan yang bisa meningkatkan daya tahan otot adalah circuit training. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas program circuit training 1 versus circuit training 2 terhadap daya tahan otot pada personel pemadam kebakaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experimentral one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan pemadam kebakaran PT Adaro Indonesia dengan sampel sebanyak 8 personel yang bertugas dalam Indonesian Fire and Rescue Challenge. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive dengan 3 kriteria. Penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil signifikansi nilai p< 0,05 pada pemberian program circuit training 1 pada otot Abdominal, Quadriceps femoris, dan Latissimus dorsi. Program circuit training 2 mendapatkan nilai p< 0,05 pada otot Abdominal, Quadriceps femoris, dan Erector spinae. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini terdapat peningkatan daya tahan otot pada circuit training 1 versus circuit training 2 secara signifikan pada tiga otot ditiap program latihan.

Effective use of diagnostic assays is essential for the early detection of plant pathogens and mitigation of potential disease impacts. Assay developers require a full understanding of the intended use of a test to address complicating factors that might be observed by an end user and limit the utility of the test and its scope of application in the field. The fitness of a test for a disease prevention application is determined by its performance characteristics, which are selected during assay design and defined during validation. This paper provides guidance to developers by standardizing the descriptions of key validation terms and concepts, including tiers that can be referenced in publications to better communicate the extent to which a test has been validated. These concepts are then applied in the broader context of a strategic approach to validation for various taxa and methods. The aim of this paper is to increase awareness of common pitfalls and gaps encountered during this process, with the goal of increased success in technology transfer. Psychological factors that can potentially improve athlete performance are called Psychological Skills Training (PST). PST refers to psychological skill training that is systematic and consistent in improving the athlete’s performance and achievement. Studies on the effectiveness of psychological techniques, such as self-talk, imagery, and goal setting, are often used as training tools for athletes. This study aimed to determine the content validity of the Self-talk Guide Book developed as a guide for implementing psychological exercises for athletes. This Book contained the types of self-talk, how to apply it, and ways for athletes to easily respond to any negative self-talk arising in their minds. The research used Research and Development method with the ADDIE design which focused on the "Development" stage. The target of this research was experts, including psychologists and mental coaches, to examine the content validity of the book. The analysis used was Aiken Validity and Combat Alpha. The Aiken Validity formula test gained a score of 0.700 to 1.000. The result indicates that the resulting content validity is High. The results of this study can be used as a guide to carry out the next stage of the "Self-talk Guidance" development, namely the Implementation and Evaluation stages so that the resulting book has good quality and is suitable for guiding athletes in practicing self-talk.

AbstractThe need for residential buildings has been increasing over time. Because a residential building has a long-life cycle and influences the life of the community in which it is situated, it is necessary to assess performance in terms of social sustainability. Social sustainability is a component of sustainable development that has a relationship with community interest. This study proposes a framework for evaluating the social sustainability of residential buildings using social network analysis (SNA) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE). We use SNA to visualize relationships between the stakeholders with their interests pertaining to social sustainability variables or criteria. FCE is applied to quantify the perceptions of stakeholders regarding the performance of the social sustainability criteria. The assessment framework compares the stakeholders’ expectations with existing performance to determine whether the building has provided maximum benefits to society. We applied the framework to a real case involving a residential building in Indonesia to demonstrate its efficacy. The results demonstrate that the model is capable of assessing the social sustainability performance in this type of construction.

The current numerical study aims to investigate the effects of various rotating speeds of rotating cylinders on mixed convection and entropy generation in a lid-driven trapezoidal enclosure for fixed magnetic field inclination angle. Several water-based hybrid nanofluids are used as governing fluids. In this work, the impacts of SWCNT-water, Cu-water, and Al2O3-water nanofluids individually, as well as the effects of three different types of SWCNT-Cu-Al2O3-water hybrid nanofluids are examined. The average Nusselt number, average Sherwood number, average temperature, and average entropy generation because of heat transfer, diffusion, fluid friction, and the applied magnetic field as well as total entropy generation and Bejan number are evaluated as output parameters for different values of governing parameters. The Galerkin weighted residual finite element method is used to numerically solve the governing Navier-Stokes, thermal energy, and mass conservation equations. The optimal values of each governing parameter are established in order to produce the best results for the output parameters. To inspect the thermal and flow field within the trapezoidal enclosure as well as the variations in mass concentrations, isotherm contours, streamlines and isoconcentration contours are studied. Better performance is found for higher rotating speed regardless of other parameters.

Background: Well-managed human resources can be a competitive advantage for organizations. The step to creating competitive resources is organizational citizenship behavior. Organizational citizenship behavior can be obtained for every organization if employees have organizational commitment which is influenced by work-life balance and person-organization fit. Objective: This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of work-life balance and person-organization fit on organizational citizenship behavior through organizational commitment. Method: The research was conducted on employees of PT. Baba Rafi Indonesia located in Sidoarjo, East Java, and the Special Capital Region of Jakarta with a sample of 108 respondents. The analytical tool used is the Partial Least Square (PLS) quantitative method. Results: The results showed that: (1) work-life balance has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment; (2) person-organization fit has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment; (3) work-life balance has a significant positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior; (4) person-organization fit has a significant positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior; (5) organizational commitment has a significant positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior; (6) work-life balance has a significant positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior through organizational commitment; and (7) person-organization fit has a significant positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior through an organizational commitment to employees of PT. Injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD) is an essential component of a phase-locked loop (PLL) used in a communication transceiver. Due to the rapid growth of virtual reality and artificial intelligence technologies, high-speed communication has become a crucial factor. As a result, highly efficient ILFDs must be engineered to ensure accurate high-speed communication. An optimized ILFD is anticipated to have a large locking range, a low power consumption, a low phase noise, and a low injection power for better functioning of a high speed PLL. However, there are inevitable trade-offs of frequency, phase noise, division ratio, and power consumption, making it more challenging to design an ILFD with a high division ratio at higher frequencies. Choosing an appropriate topology for different operational frequencies is also a challenging task for RFIC designers. This study exemplified different design architectures available for CMOS ILFDs in different super high frequency (SHF) and extremely high frequency (EHF) frequency ranges. The performance parameters of these architectures are analyzed, and a detailed discussion on the device’s performance is presented. This review will serve as a comparative study and reference for the RFIC designer’s future ILFD designs.

One of the design challenges that architects and designers encounter during the creation and design stage of structural concepts is the parametric optimization of an architectural object's form. It is a very time-consuming and difficult process to evaluate a building's energy performance as a design consideration in the early design stages. To solve performance-related design issues, a number of tools and techniques have been created during the past few decades, primarily employing multi-objective optimization algorithms. The ability to dynamically control geometry and components using parametric modeling enables the designer to simultaneously evaluate several alternatives. The system research in the fields of architecture and urban planning aims to provide the energy efficiency of a design while enhancing its performance features. Theorists' perspectives have recently overlapped and diverged over how to strike a balance between technological capabilities and environmental factors in order to create an objective architecture in terms of performance that is unconcerned with form without content. All of these factors combined to create a modern architecture that is conceptually distinct from earlier tendencies seen before the advent of digital technology. In this paper, the relationship between the parametric architecture and environmental friendliness on building design has been explored. In order to analyze the theoretical study data, this research paper aims to elucidate the key elements of parametric architecture. This paper also reviews the utilization of cutting-edge implementation techniques, contemporary building materials and digital design approaches resulted from the parametric design in the growth of architectural philosophy.

The transient depletion of monocytes alone prior to exposure of macaques to HTLV-1 enhances both HTLV-1WT (wild type) and HTLV-1p12KO (Orf-1 knockout) infectivity, but seroconversion to either virus is not sustained over time, suggesting a progressive decrease in virus expression. These results raise the hypotheses that either HTLV-1 persistence depends on a monocyte reservoir or monocyte depletion provides a transient immune evasion benefit. To test these hypotheses, we simultaneously depleted NK cells, CD8+ T cells, and monocytes (triple depletion) prior to exposure to HTLV-1WT or HTLV-1p12KO. Remarkably, triple depletion resulted in exacerbation of infection by both viruses and complete rescue of HTLV-1p12KO infectivity. Following triple depletion, we observed rapid and sustained seroconversion, high titers of antibodies against HTLV-1 p24Gag, and frequent detection of viral DNA in the blood and tissues of all animals when compared with depletion of only CD8+ and NK cells, or monocytes alone. The infection of macaques with HTLV-1WT or HTLV-1p12KO was associated with higher plasma levels of IL-10 after 21 weeks, while IL-6, IFN-γ, IL-18, and IL-1β were only elevated in animals infected with HTLV-1WT. The repeat depletion of monocytes, NK, and CD8+ cells seven months following the first exposure to HTLV-1 did not further exacerbate viral replication. These results underscore the contribution of monocytes in orchestrating anti-viral immunity. Indeed, the absence of orf-1 expression was fully compensated by the simultaneous depletion of CD8+ T cells, NK cells, and monocytes, underlining the primary role of orf-1 in hijacking host immunity.

Since Covid-19 outbreak, billions of single used face masks (SUFM) are being used which pose a great concern in terms of environmental pollution – SUFM do not disintegrate easily. Reuse of used masks in concrete could be a pollution mitigating option. In this study, a unique series of testing program, incorporating pieced SUFM and powdered ladle furnace slag (LFS) in concrete, was considered. To prepare concretes, SUFM fibers were added as a volumetric replacement and LFS powder was added as supplementary cementitious material (SCM). Two different percentages (0.1% and 0.2%) and sizes (small: 5 × 20 mm and large: 5 × 40 mm) of SUFM fibers were used, and two different percentages (5% and 15%) of LFS were incorporated (along with SUFM) in concrete. Subsequently, control concretes, SUFM blended concretes, and SUFM-LFS blended concretes were prepared to carry out compressive strength tests, flexural strength tests, and sorptivity (i.e., capillary water absorption) tests. For SUFM blended concretes, the compressive strength and flexural strength results are found to be decreasing: 0.1% larger sized SUFM shows less decrease in strength (15.2% for compressive and 2.1% for flexure) when compared with control concretes. In the case of SUFM-LFS blended concretes, compressive strength is in decreasing trend whereas flexural strength is found to be increased with a peak increment of 8.3% compared to control concrete. In the case of sorptivity, higher amount of SUFM inclusion shows increased water absorption by concrete while larger amount of LFS inclusion produces concretes having less affinity to water. In general, larger sized SUFM blended concretes provide better concrete if compared with other blended samples.

The goal of the current numerical study is to determine how different magnetic field inclination angles along with Reynolds numbers affect mixed convective heat and mass transfer as well as entropy generation in a lid-driven trapezoidal enclosure with two rotating cylinders inside. As governing fluids, several water-based nanofluids and hybrid nanofluids with fixed solid volume fractions (5%) are employed. The impacts of three different types of SWCNT-Cu-Al2O3-water hybrid nanofluids, each made up of different ratios of SWCNT, Cu, and Al2O3 nanoparticles in water, are seen in this work, along with the effects of SWCNT-water, Cu-water, and Al2O3-water nanofluids separately. To obtain the results in the form of average Nusselt number, average Sherwood number, average temperature, and Bejan number as output parameters inside the enclosure for different magnetic field inclination angles (0° ≤ λ ≤ 90°) and other governing parameter values, the governing Navier-Stokes, thermal energy, and mass conservation equations are solved using the Galerkin weighted residual finite element method through numerical simulation. Then the simulation data is used to develop a novel artificial neural network model for efficient prediction. To achieve the best outcomes for the output parameters, the optimal values of each of these input parameters are determined by both FEM and ANN and a comparative study between these two is conducted. Cu-Al2O3-water hybrid nanofluid is used to test the performance of the developed ANN model for new cases. For each type of fluid in the present framework, maximum heat and mass transfer often take place when the magnetic field is applied at an inclined angle with respect to the horizontal axis. A satisfactory accuracy is obtained for the developed novel ANN model while predicting respective results. For training and validation data, it predicts convective heat and mass transfer with 96.81% accuracy and average dimensionless temperature and Bejan number with 98.74% accuracy. For test data, it predicts convective heat and mass transfer with 97.03% accuracy and average dimensionless temperature and Bejan number with 99.17% accuracy.

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the colony forming units (CFU) to isolate, identify, and antibiotic sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus from chicken nuggets (CN). Materials and Methods: Sixty CN samples from two brands were collected from different super¬stores in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Uncooked, oven-cooked (OC), or gas stove-cooked (GSC) CN samples were inoculated onto mannitol salt agar and blood agar. Results: The total staphylococcal count (TSC) for uncooked CN ranged from log 4.68 to log 5.11 CFU/gm. For OC CN, TSC ranged from log 3.29 to log 3.62 CFU/gm. For GSC CN, TSC ranged from log 3.09 to log 3.49 CFU/gm. Relative to uncooked CN, microwave oven-cooked and GSC samples significantly reduced the TSC of CN (p < 0.01). Using the polymerase chain reaction assay and standard biochemical testing, only 8 out of 60 CN samples contained S. aureus. Staphylococcus aureus were resistant to Ampicillin (100%), Amoxicillin (100%), Oxacillin (75%), Cefixime (87.5%), Doxycycline (75%), intermediately sensitive to Erythromycin (25%), Cephalexin (12.5%), Ciprofloxacin (25%), Gentamicin (12.5%), Doxycycline (12.5%) and sensitive to Oxacillin (25%), Azithromycin (100%), Erythromycin (75%) Cephalexin (87.5%), Cefixime (12.5%), Chloramphenicol (100%), Ciprofloxacin (75%), Gentamicin (87.5%), Doxycycline (12.5%), and Vancomycin (100%). Conclusion: This study reports the first isolation and identification of S. aureus from CN in Bangladesh. GSC CN was better than OC and uncooked CN. Data also suggest that CN is contami¬nated with multidrug-resistant S. aureus, which poses a public health hazard. [J Adv Vet Anim Res 2022; 9(4.000): 601-609]

Abstract Dickeya fangzhongdai, a bacterial pathogen of taro (Colocasia esculenta), onion (Allium sp.), and several species in the orchid family (Orchidaceae) causes soft rot and bleeding canker diseases. No field-deployable diagnostic tool is available for specific detection of this pathogen in different plant tissues. Therefore, we developed a field-deployable loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay using a unique genomic region, present exclusively in D. fangzhongdai. Multiple genomes of D. fangzhongdai, and other species of Dickeya, Pectobacterium and unrelated genera were used for comparative genomic analyses to identify an exclusive and conserved target sequence from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS) transporter gene region. This gene region had broad detection capability for D. fangzhongdai and thus was used to design primers for endpoint PCR and LAMP assays. In-silico validation showed high specificity with D. fangzhongdai genome sequences available in the NCBI GenBank genome database as well as the in-house sequenced genome. The specificity of the LAMP assay was determined with 96 strains that included all Dickeya species and Pectobacterium species as well as other closely related genera and 5 hosts; no false positives or false negatives were detected. The detection limit of the assay was determined by performing four sensitivity assays with tenfold serially diluted purified genomic DNA of D. fangzhongdai with and without the presence of crude host extract (taro, orchid, and onion). The detection limit for all sensitivity assays was 100 fg (18–20 genome copies) with no negative interference by host crude extracts. The assays were performed by five independent operators (blind test) and on three instruments (Rotor-Gene, thermocycler and dry bath); the assay results were concordant. The assay consistently detected the target pathogen from artificially inoculated and naturally infected host samples. The developed assay is highly specific for D. fangzhongdai and has applications in routine diagnostics, phytosanitary and seed certification programs, and epidemiological studies.

The past decade has witnessed rapid research and developments in wind energy conversion systems and related enabling technologies. The incorporation of wind turbines in the integral design of buildings has become a promising approach to promote on-site renewable energy conversion in urban areas. However, information pertaining the efficiency of the wind turbines, wind speeds and the integration of generated wind power to the grid in urban environments is scarce. This review paper aims to capture the fact that recent advancements in wind energy systems are able to deliver tangible benefits to the renewable energy technology (RET) industry as a whole. A comprehensive review has been carried out on the applied techniques of radial wind turbine (RWTs), contra-rotating wind turbines (CRWTs), hybrid Savonius–Darrieus rotor, piezoelectric generators, flag-type triboelectric nanogenerator and stretching-enhanced triboelectric nanogenerator. This paper provides a knowledge platform for readers to explore possible methods in exploiting the advantages of urban wind profiles with minimal vibration, noise and installation space. Unique approaches pertaining the developments of wind energy system in urban environments are reviewed and reported in this paper. Several research gaps are also identified to guide future study in urban wind energy conversion systems.

This paper presents new insight on the potential of piezoaeroelastic energy harvesting on the transport aircraft wing structure. A novel numerical investigation is conducted in the present study. An advanced iterative finite element method (FEM) is applied to estimate the amount of harvested energy. Currently, FEM-based commercial software has a limited application on piezoelectric structures, i.e., actuator and sensor. The iterative FEM algorithm extends the commercial software implementation for the energy harvesting analysis. The multidisciplinary issue of the aeroelastic phenomenon and piezoelectric energy harvesting is evaluated in the present case. Likewise, interestingly, stress and failure analysis of a lifting surface with an active energy harvesting component could be enabled. Implementation of a wing with an embedded piezoelectric layer is concerned. A cruise flight condition and gust disturbance are evaluated. The analysis concerning the occurrence of gust also provides a more realistic insight into the power harvested during a flight operation.

Abstract The present research has been performed to analyze the chemical behavior of rainwater of the Shaune Garang catchment (32.19° N, 78.20° E) in the Baspa basin, located at a high elevation (4221 m above mean sea level) in the Himachal Himalaya, India. During the study period, sixteen rainwater samples were collected from the Shaune Garang catchment at five different sites. The volume-weighted mean (VWM) pH value of rainwater ranged between 4.59 and 6.73, with an average value of 5.47 ± 0.69, indicating the alkaline nature of rainfall. The total ionic strength in the rainwater ranged from 113.4 to 263.3 µeq/l with an average value of 169.1 ± 40.4 µeq/l. The major dominant cations were Ca2+ (43.10%) and Na+ (31.97%) and anions were Cl− (37.68%), SO4 2− (28.71%) and NO3 − (23.85%) in rainwater. The ionic ratios were calculated among all the ions. The fraction of (NO3 − +Cl−) with SO4 2− was measured as 2.3, which specifies sour faces of rainwater due to HNO3, H2SO4, and HCl. A multivariate statistical assessment of rainwater chemistry through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) shows the significance of four factors controlling 78.37% of the total variance, including four-component (PC1 explained 27.89%, PC2 explained 24.98%, PC3 explained 14.64%, PC4 explained 10.85%). However, the individual contribution of Factor 1(PC1) explains 27.89% of the total variance (78.37%) and displays a strong optimistic loading for Ca2+ and Cl−. Further, high loading of Ca2+ and NO3 − and moderate loading of SO4 2− signify the contribution of burning fossil fuel and soil dust. Anthropogenic and natural pollutants influence the composition of rainwater in the pristine Himalayas due to local and long-distance transportation. The study area receives precipitation from the West and North-West, transporting dust and fossil fuel emissions from the Thar Desert and Northwestern countries.
