A virtual prototype model of multi-strut landing gear was estabished with MSC. Adams software after the force analysis of its shock absorber system. The stoke of absorber, vertical load the of tyre and the energy was analyzed at given sink speed and drop mass. In order to decrease the landing load, the parameters sensitive to the dynamic performance of the absorber, such as initial air cavities cubage, initial pressure and orifice size, were choosed as optimization, target was the maximal vertical load of the tyre during loading. Based on the orthogonal design the mathematical relations between optimization parameters and optimization target were got by the use of response surface method. The simulation anneal method was used in this optimization problem. The virtual simulation result shows that the dynamic performance of updated shock absorber improved effectively, the total landing load decreased by 8. 3% after optimization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
