Abstract

The conformal properties of metrics are meaningful in Riemannian and Finsler geometry, and cubic metrics are useful in physics and biology. In this paper, we study the conformally flat cubic metrics with weakly isotropic scalar curvature. We also prove that such metrics must be Minkowski metrics.

8. A Normalized Hysteretic Energy Spectrum for Energy-Based Seismic Design

Abstract

To disclose the impacts of hysteretic energy (HE) demand on energy-based seismic design, this paper introduces the dimensionless parameter βEH to express the cumulative HE indirectly and establishes the βEH spectrum for energy-based seismic design. After analyzing numerous seismic responses of a single degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system, the author set up a simplified βEH spectral formula based on the genetic algorithm. Then, 750 ground motion records were selected according to Chinese site classification, and used to examine the effects of soil type and damping ratio on the βEH spectra. The results show that the soil type, site group and damping ratio have significant effects on the βEH spectra; the ductility ratio has an impact on the spectral value but not the spectral shape.

Abstract

Background: Tufted angioma is a rare benign lesion with vascular proliferation.Aim: To retrospectively analyze the clinicopathological manifestations and immunohistochemical features of tufted angioma.Methods: Clinical and histopathological features of tufted angioma (n = 54) were evaluated and analyzed retrospectively in the Department of Dermatology, Xijing Hospital from 2003 to 2014.Results: Clinically, tufted angioma usually presented as erythematous plaques and papules on the head and neck (n = 11), trunk (n = 21) and extremities (n = 22), mainly in children (n = 48), without gender difference (24 males and 30 females). A total of 45 cases showed solitary lesions and nine cases showed multiple lesions. Common symptoms included pain (n = 11), tenderness (n = 7), itching (n = 1), hypertrichosis (n = 7), hyperhidrosis (n = 6) and Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon (n = 1). Histopathologically, typical tufted angioma (n = 37) showed proliferation of endothelial cells in a so-called cannonball pattern, while in the early (n = 4) and regressed (n = 13) stages the tufted appearance was not prominent. The proliferated endothelial cells were diffusely positive for CD31 and Wilms tumor 1, focally positive for D2-40 and Prox1, and negative for Glut-1.Limitations: Our research was confined to patients of Chinese origin and our sample size was limited.Conclusions: Tufted angioma is a rare vascular neoplasm with diverse clinical manifestations and unique pathological features. It should be recognized as a vascular tumor with lymphatic differentiation. Abstract

Construction of the network topology is the important premise and basis of the network simulation. Most of the complex network topology are constructed on the basis of random graph network. In this paper, we first simulate the random graph network by using Matlab software. But the random graph network maybe is disconnected, so we create an algorithm to construct a connected local network by using Prim algorithm to create a minimum spanning tree, and do the simulation by Matlab software. Finally we analyze the reliability of the constructed local network.

Abstract

A new evolution network model with growth of both nodes and edges based on the growth characteristics of an actual network is given in this paper, which includes the degree priority connection of the edges and the construction rules of the neighbor interconnection network. Simulations show that the simulated network is closer to the actual network.

Abstract

This paper introduces the concepts of complex networks. An improved multi-local world model is proposed and simulated by Matlab software, and then the generated network is visualized by Pajek software. Finally, the network parameters related to topological properties are calculated and some properties of the network are analyzed.

Abstract

Being motivated by recent rapid developments in the theory of complex networks, we constructed one kind network topology generator and studied the network's robustness, with the use of Matlab and Pajek software. In this thesis, we describe an updated Autonomous System (AS)-level network topology generator. We show that generates topologies with characteristics more faithful to network topologies of comparable sizes. This thesis has three parts. The first is the introduction of complex networks, which make it better to accurately simulate network and study the network topology. The second, we present a topology generator that is based on AS connectivity in the network through programming by Matlab and show that it generates topologies that best approximate the actual AS network topology. The third is the investigating of the network's robustness under random attacks that remove part of nodes in the network completly, we also examine the robustness of networks under intentional attack.
