In order to explore the effect of postharvest treatment with combined phenylalanine (Phe) and 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) on the appearance quality of peach fruits, bagged peach fruits were treated after harvest with water (control), Phe, 1-MCP or Phe combined with 1-MCP (Phe + 1-MCP). The changes in peach fruit phenotype, peel color difference, anthocyanin content, and the expression of genes associated with anthocyanidin and ethylene metabolism were measured during storage. The results showed that the single treatments with Phe or 1-MCP led to a higher peel anthocyanin content compared with the control group. Furthermore, the combined treatment was more effective in increasing the synthesis of anthocyanin than the single treatments. On the 6th day of storage, the anthocyanin content in the peel in the combined treatment group was 76.71 mg/kg, which was 7.29, 3.36, and 1.33 times higher than that in the control, Phe and 1-MCP groups, respectively. Phe + 1-MCP treatment effectively enhanced the expression of genes related to the synthesis of anthocyanins (PAL, CHS, CHI, F3H, DFR, ANS, UFGT, MYB10.1, bHLH-3 and WD40-1) and reduced the expression of genes related to ethylene synthesis and signal transduction (ACS, EIN4 and EIL) in peach peel. This study not only further confirmed that 1-MCP treatment can effectively promote the synthesis of anthocyanin in peach peel, but also found a synergistic effect between Phe and 1-MCP, which will provide a theoretical basis for the application of Phe + 1-MCP in the regulation of peach color after harvest.

The objective of this work was to study the effects of different light treatments on the color development of peach skin during postharvest storage and to explore the regulatory mechanism of light on anthocyanin metabolism. Peach fruits, cv. Zhongtao 9, were subjected to different lights (red, green, blue and white) for 12 h and darkness for another 12 h at (22 ± 1) ℃, while those kept in darkness for 24 h were considered as a control. The variations in fruit skin color, anthocyanin content and enzymatic activities involved in the anthocyanin metabolic pathway, as well as the expression levels of the structural genes of anthocyanin biosynthesis and related transcription factors after light treatment were measured. The results showed that the color development of peach skin was not affected by red and green light, but was weakly promoted by white light and significantly induced by blue light. The anthocyanin content in blue light-treated peach skin was 27.26 mg/kg, which was 4.48 and 10.34 times as high as that in the white light treatment and control groups on the sixth day after harvest, respectively. Under blue light treatment, the enzymatic activities of the anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway and the expression levels of structural genes and transcription factors were significantly higher than those in the control and other light treatment groups at most of the time points tested (P < 0.05). The expression levels of the structural genes PAL, CHS, F3H, DFR, ANS and UFGT and the transcription factor MYB10.1 showed significantly positive correlation with the color parameters and anthocyanin content of peach skin. Collectively, this study indicated that blue light treatment promoted the synthesis and accumulation of anthocyanins in peach skin by up-regulating the anthocyanin synthesis pathway, which will deepen the understanding of the regulatory mechanism of anthocyanin metabolism by light in plants and provide a theoretical basis for the development of postharvest technologies to improve peach skin color.

Purpose: The serum lipid level is strongly associated with atherosclerosis. However, research on the relationship between lipid-derived indices and acute ischemic stroke (AIS) occurrence in hemodialysis populations is limited. This study aimed to explore the predictive value of lipid-derived indices, including atherogenic index of plasma (AIP), Non- high density lipoprotein cholesterol (Non-HDL-C), Non-HDL-C/HDL-C, and lipoprotein combine index (LCI) in clinical practice for the occurrence and prognosis of AIS in hemodialysis patients. Methods: A total of 451 patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis were screened and 350 were enrolled in this study. The lipid parameters exhibit a progressive increase across the tertiles, with values rising from Q1 through Q3. Enrolled patients were divided into three groups (Q1, Q2, and Q3) based on tertiles of AIP, Non-HDL-C, Non-HDL-C/HDL-C, and LCI values. Kaplan-Meier curves were performed to investigate the association between the AIP, Non-HDL-C, Non-HDL-C/HDL-C, LCI and AIS-free survival in hemodialysis patients. Chi-square analysis was used to explore the association between the AIP, Non-HDL-C, Non-HDL-C/HDL-C, LCI and AIS outcomes in hemodialysis patients. AIS outcomes were assessed using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS). Results: Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the AIS-free survival rates were significantly higher in the Q1 group compared to Q2 and Q3 groups for AIP, Non-HDL-C, Non-HDL-C/HDL-C, and LCI. Log rank tests showed statistically significant differences between the Q1 group and the Q2 and Q3 groups (p < 0.05 for all). The proportion of patients with a good outcome mRS was higher in the Q1 group compared to the Q2-Q3 groups (AIP: 0.818 vs 0.792; Non- HDL-C: 0.866 vs 0.767; Non- HDL-C/HDL-C: 0.867 vs 0.767; LCI: 0.938 vs 0.750). Conclusion: The four lipid-derived parameters are effective predictors of AIS in patients undergoing hemodialysis, and AIP has a strongest correlation with the risk of AIS. Hemodialysis patients with elevated levels of the four lipid-derived indices had a higher incidence of AIS and poorer functional outcomes compared to those with lower levels. In order to elucidate the petrogenesis of the Hughes Bluff granitic pluton, the petrological and geochemical studies were conducted, and the results show that the Hughes Bluff granitic pluton is composed of monzogranite, intruded by fine-grained monzogranite dikes in the later period. They both are characterized by high abundance of silicon, alkali and potassium, enriched in Rb, Th, U and K and depleted in Nb, Ta, Nd and Ti relative to those of the primitive mantle, with the Rittmann Indexes less than 3 and the A/CNK values less than 1. They both also have a low total amount of rare earth elements and an abundance of light rare earth, showing weakly negative Eu anomaly and slightly positive Eu anomaly in the chondrite-normalized REE pattern for the monzogranite and granitic monzogranite dike respectively. All the data show that the rocks from the Hughes Bluff granitic pluton belong to the I-type granites, and the source region is probably the lower continental crust, but the contribution of mantle material cannot be ruled out. The magma in the source region underwent varying degrees of fractional crystallization of plagioclase, ilmenite, rutile and apatite, and was derived from a volcanic island arc environment related to subduction.
