1. Arbitrary State Transition of Open Qubit System Based on Switching Control

Abstract

We present a switching control strategy based on Lyapunov control for arbitrary state transitions in open qubit systems. With coherent vector representation, we propose a switching control strategy, which can prevent the state of the qubit from entering invariant sets and singular value sets, effectively driving the system ultimately to a sufficiently small neighborhood of target states. In comparison to existing works, this control strategy relaxes the strict constraints on system models imposed by special target states. Furthermore, we identify conditions under which the open qubit system achieves finite-time stability (FTS) and finite-time contractive stability (FTCS), respectively. This represents a critical improvement in quantum state transitions, especially considering the asymptotic stability of arbitrary target states is unattainable in open quantum systems. The effectiveness of our proposed method is convincingly demonstrated through its application in a qubit system affected by various types of decoherence, including amplitude, dephasing and polarization decoherence., Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures

Abstract

We present a numerical method for solving the separability problem of Gaussian quantum states in continuous-variable quantum systems. We show that the separability problem can be cast as an equivalent problem of determining the feasibility of a set of linear matrix inequalities. Thus, it can be efficiently solved using existent numerical solvers. We apply this method to the identification of bound entangled Gaussian states. We show that the proposed method can be used to identify bound entangled Gaussian states that could be simple enough to be producible in quantum optics., Comment: 14 pages

Abstract

The positivity of the partial transpose is in general only a necessary condition for separability. There exist quantum states that are not separable, but nevertheless are positive under partial transpose. States of this type are known as bound entangled states meaning that these states are entangled but they do not allow distillation of pure entanglement by means of local operations and classical communication (LOCC). We present a parametrization of a class of $2\times 2$ bound entangled Gaussian states for bipartite continuous-variable quantum systems with two modes on each side. We propose an experimental protocol for preparing a particular bound entangled state in quantum optics. We then discuss the robustness properties of this protocol with respect to the occupation number of thermal inputs and the degrees of squeezing., Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures

Abstract

Abstract Background Methods for the multiview clustering and integration of multi-omics data have been developed recently to solve problems caused by data noise or limited sample size and to integrate multi-omics data with consistent (common) and differential cluster patterns. However, the integration of such data still suffers from limited performance and low accuracy. Results In this study, a computational framework for the multiview clustering method based on the penalty model is presented to overcome the challenges of low accuracy and limited performance in the case of integrating multi-omics data with consistent (common) and differential cluster patterns. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated on synthetic data and four real multi-omics data and then compared with approaches presented in the literature under different scenarios. Result implies that our method exhibits competitive performance compared with recently developed techniques when the underlying clusters are consistent with synthetic data. In the case of the differential clusters, the proposed method also presents an enhanced performance. In addition, with regards to real omics data, the developed method exhibits better performance, demonstrating its ability to provide more detailed information within each data type and working better to integrate multi-omics data with consistent (common) and differential cluster patterns. This study shows that the proposed method offers more significant differences in survival times across all types of cancer. Conclusions A new multiview clustering method is proposed in this study based on synthetic and real data. This method performs better than other techniques previously presented in the literature in terms of integrating multi-omics data with consistent and differential cluster patterns and determining the significance of difference in survival times.

Given a linear open quantum system which is described by a Lindblad master equation, we detail the calculation of the moment evolution equations from this master equation. We stress that the moment evolution equations are well-known, but their explicit derivation from the master equation cannot be found in the literature to the best of our knowledge, and so we provide this derivation for the interested reader.

We study the preparation of entangled pure Gaussian states via reservoir engineering. In particular, we consider a chain consisting of $(2\aleph+1)$ quantum harmonic oscillators where the central oscillator of the chain is coupled to a single reservoir. We then completely parametrize the class of $(2\aleph+1)$-mode pure Gaussian states that can be prepared by this type of quantum harmonic oscillator chain. In particular, we consider a linear quantum system with a passive Hamiltonian and with a single reservoir which acts only on a single site of the system. We then give a full parametrization of the pure Gaussian states that can be prepared by this type of quantum system.
