Marital quality may decrease during the early years of marriage. Establishing models predicting individualized marital quality may help develop timely and effective interventions to maintain or improve marital quality. Given that marital interactions have an important impact on marital well-being cross-sectionally and prospectively, neural responses during marital interactions may provide insight into neural bases underlying marital well-being. The current study applies connectome-based predictive modeling, a recently developed machine-learning approach, to functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data from both partners of 25 early-stage Chinese couples to examine whether an individual's unique pattern of brain functional connectivity (FC) when responding to spousal interactive behaviors can reliably predict their own and their partners' marital quality after 13 months. Results revealed that husbands' FC involving multiple large networks, when responding to their spousal interactive behaviors, significantly predicted their own and their wives' marital quality, and this predictability showed gender specificity. Brain connectivity patterns responding to general emotional stimuli and during the resting state were not significantly predictive. This study demonstrates that husbands' differences in large-scale neural networks during marital interactions may contribute to their variability in marital quality and highlights gender-related differences. Social information processing is important for successful romantic relationships and protection against depression, and depends on functional connectivity (FC) within and between large-scale networks. Functional architecture evident at rest is adaptively reconfigured during a task, and there were two possible associations between brain reconfiguration and behavioral performance during neurocognitive tasks (efficiency effect and distraction-based effect). This study examined the relationships between brain reconfiguration during social information processing and relationship-specific and more general social outcomes in marriage. Resting-state FC was compared with FC during social information processing (watching relationship-specific and general emotional stimuli) of 29 heterosexual couples, and the FC similarity (reconfiguration efficiency) was examined in relation to marital quality and depression 13 months later. The results indicated that wives' reconfiguration efficiency (globally and in visual association network) during relationship-specific stimuli processing was related to their own marital quality. Higher reconfiguration efficiency (globally and in medial frontal, frontal-parietal, default mode, motor/sensory and salience networks) in wives during general emotional stimuli processing was related to their lower depression. These findings suggest efficiency effects on social outcomes during social cognition, especially among married women. A near-infrared non-fullerene acceptor (NFA) BDTIC, based on thienopyrrole-expanded benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene unit (heptacyclic S,N-heteroacene) as core, is designed and synthesized. The aromatic pyrrole ring with strong electron-donating ability in the core enhances the intramolecular charge transfer effect, finely tunes the optical bandgap and absorption profile of BDTIC, and thus results in a narrowed optical bandgap (Egopt) of 1.38 eV and a near-infrared absorption to 900 nm. When BDTIC is paired with donor polymer PBDB-T to fabricate organic solar cells, the optimized device achieves a best power conversion efficiency of 12.1% with a short-circuit current density of 20.0 mA·cm−2 and an open-circuit voltage of 0.88 V. The photovoltaic performance benefits from the broad absorption, weak bimolecular recombination, efficient charge separation and collection, and favorable blend morphology. This work demonstrates that thienopyrrole-expanded benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene unit (heptacyclic S,N-heteroacene) is a promising building unit to construct high-performance NFAs by enhancing the intramolecular charge transfer effect, broadening absorption as well as maintaining good intermolecular stacking property. Psychobehavioral intervention is an effective treatment of Internet addiction, including Internet gaming disorder (IGD). However, the neural mechanisms underlying its efficacy remain unclear. Cortical-ventral striatum (VS) circuitry is a common target of psychobehavioral interventions in drug addiction, and cortical-VS dysfunction has been reported in IGD; hence, the primary aim of the study was to investigate how the VS circuitry responds to psychobehavioral interventions in IGD. In a cross-sectional study, we examined resting-state functional connectivity of the VS in 74 IGD subjects (IGDs) and 41 healthy controls (HCs). In a follow-up craving behavioral intervention (CBI) study, of the 74 IGD subjects, 20 IGD subjects received CBI (CBI+) and 16 IGD subjects did not (CBI-). All participants were scanned twice with similar time interval to assess the effects of CBI. IGD subjects showed greater resting-state functional connectivity of the VS to left inferior parietal lobule (lIPL), right inferior frontal gyrus and left middle frontal gyrus, in positive association with the severity of IGD. Moreover, compared with CBI-, CBI+ showed significantly greater decrease in VS-lIPL connectivity, along with amelioration in addiction severity following the intervention. These findings demonstrated that functional connectivity between VS and lIPL, each presumably mediating gaming craving and attentional bias, may be a potential biomarker of the efficacy of psychobehavioral intervention. These results also suggested that non-invasive techniques such as transcranial magnetic or direct current stimulation targeting the VS-IPL circuitry may be used in the treatment of Internet gaming disorders. Cue-induced brain reactivity has been suggested to be a fundamental and important mechanism explaining the development, maintenance, and relapse of addiction, including Internet gaming disorder (IGD). Altered activity in addiction-related brain regions has been found during cue-reactivity in IGD using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), but less is known regarding the alterations of coordinated whole brain activity patterns in IGD. To investigate the activity of temporally coherent, large-scale functional brain networks (FNs) during cue-reactivity in IGD, independent component analysis was applied to fMRI data from 29 male subjects with IGD and 23 matched healthy controls (HC) performing a cue-reactivity task involving Internet gaming stimuli (i.e., game cues) and general Internet surfing-related stimuli (i.e., control cues). Four FNs were identified that were related to the response to game cues relative to control cues and that showed altered engagement/disengagement in IGD compared with HC. These FNs included temporo-occipital and temporo-insula networks associated with sensory processing, a frontoparietal network involved in memory and executive functioning, and a dorsal-limbic network implicated in reward and motivation processing. Within IGD, game versus control engagement of the temporo-occipital and frontoparietal networks were positively correlated with IGD severity. Similarly, disengagement of temporo-insula network was negatively correlated with higher game-craving. These findings are consistent with altered cue-reactivity brain regions reported in substance-related addictions, providing evidence that IGD may represent a type of addiction. In order to improve the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of recombinant human interleukin-11 mutein (mIL-11) and to reduce the frequency of administration, we examined the feasibility of chemical modification of mIL-11 by methoxy polyethylene glycol succinimidyl carbonate (mPEG-SC). PEG-mIL-11 was prepared by a pH controlled amine specific method. Bioactivity of the protein was determined in a IL-11-dependent in vitro bioassay, its pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties were investigated by using normal and thrombocytopenic monkey models. N-terminus sequencing and peptide mapping analysis revealed that Lys33 is the PEGylated position for PEG-mIL-11. Bioactivity of PEG-mIL-11 assessed by B9-11 cell proliferation assay was comparable to that of mIL-11. More than 79-fold increase in area-under-the curve (AUC) and 26-fold increase in maximum plasma concentration (C max ) was observed in pharmacokinetic analysis. Single dose administration of the PEG-mIL-11 induced blood platelets number increase and the effect duration were comparable to that of 7 to 10 consecutive daily administration of mIL-11 to the normal and thrombocytopenic monkey models. Two coordination polymers, namely, [Ni(L)(CHN)(HO)] ( 1), and [Mn(L)(HO)] ( 2) have been hydro(solvo)thermally synthesized through the reaction of 4-(4-hydroxypyridinium-1-yl)phthalic acid (HL) with divalent nickel and manganese salts. As a result of various coordination modes of the versatile 4-(4-hydroxypyridinium-1-yl)phthalic acid, these compounds exhibit structural diversity. Complex 1 exhibits a 3D coordination framework through the rich hydrogen bond. Complex 2 exhibits a 3D coordination network based on layers. Six unprecedented bisindole alkaloids, trigolutesins A and B (1–2) with a unique polycyclic skeleton and trigolutes A–D (3–6) with another polycyclic skeleton, were isolated from the twigs of Trigonostemon lutescens. Their structures and relative configurations were elucidated by spectroscopic data and single-crystal X-ray diffraction crystallography. Trigolutesin A (1) showed weak AChE inhibitory activity. Candida albicans is a common fungal pathogen that can cause life-threatening infections. MIR1 is considered to be a mitochondrial phosphate carrier of C. albicans, while its role in virulence has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we found that mir1Δ/Δ mutant exhibited severe virulence defect in both nematode and murine models. Further mechanism studies revealed that the mir1Δ/Δ mutant grew more slowly than the wild-type strain and showed severe filamentation defects on the hypha-inducing agar media, including YPD + serum, Lee, Spider + glucose, SLAD, SLD, and YPS. Furthermore, the loss of MIR1 resulted in unfermentable carbon utilisation defect, ATP decrease, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in C. albicans. Antioxidant proanthocyanidins, vitamin E, and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) could reduce intracellular ROS levels and partially rescue the filamentation defects of the mir1Δ/Δ mutant. Accordingly, hypha-specific genes, as well as CEK1 and RIM101 were down-regulated in the mir1Δ/Δ mutant, and this down-regulation could be partially rescued by the addition of the antioxidant NAC. Summary: Tillering is a significant agronomic trait in wheat which shapes plant architecture and yield. Strigolactones (SLs) function in inhibiting axillary bud outgrowth. The roles of SLs in the regulation of bud outgrowth have been described in model plant species, including rice and Arabidopsis. However, the role of SLs genes in wheat remains elusive due to the size and complexity of the wheat genomes. In this study, TaD27 genes in wheat, orthologs of rice D27 encoding an enzyme involved in SLs biosynthesis, were identified. TaD27‐RNAi wheat plants had more tillers, and TaD27‐B‐OE wheat plants had fewer tillers. Germination bioassay of Orobanche confirmed the SLs was deficient in TaD27‐RNAi and excessive in TaD27‐B‐OE wheat plants. Moreover, application of exogenous GR24 or TIS108 could mediate the axillary bud outgrowth of TaD27‐RNAi and TaD27‐B‐OE in the hydroponic culture, suggesting that TaD27‐B plays critical roles in regulating wheat tiller number by participating in SLs biosynthesis. Unlike rice D27, plant height was not affected in the transgenic wheat plants. Transcription and gene coexpression network analysis showed that a number of genes are involved in the SLs signalling pathway and axillary bud development. This meta-analytic study aimed to identify the common and specific neural alterations in Internet gaming disorder (IGD) across different domains and modalities. Two separate meta-analyses for functional neural activation and gray-matter volume were conducted. Sub-meta-analyses for the domains of reward, cold-executive, and hot-executive functions were also performed, respectively. IGD subjects, compared with healthy controls, showed: (1) hyperactivation in the anterior and posterior cingulate cortices, caudate, posterior inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), which were mainly associated with studies measuring reward and cold-executive functions; and, (2) hypoactivation in the anterior IFG in relation to hot-executive function, the posterior insula, somatomotor and somatosensory cortices in relation to reward function. Furthermore, IGD subjects showed reduced gray-matter volume in the anterior cingulate, orbitofrontal, dorsolateral prefrontal, and premotor cortices. These findings suggest that IGD is associated with both functional and structural neural alterations in fronto-striatal and fronto-cingulate regions. Moreover, multi-domain assessments capture different aspects of neural alterations in IGD, which may be helpful for developing effective interventions targeting specific functions. Aiming at the problem of shortage of computing power and resources in target detection deployment in real scenarios, this paper proposes a model method based on improved channel and layer pruning. After improving the channel pruning by setting adaptive local security threshold and carrying out layer pruning by comprehensively evaluating the whole residual structure value, the proposed model pruning method is applied to detect masked face. Firstly, for training the YOLOv4 target detection network, the masked face dataset is constructed by using face-based data amplification method. Secondly, after pruning the YOLOv4 model to get different pruning models by the improved channel and layer pruning method, the comparative experiments with YOLOv4 and YOLOv4-tiny was carried out on the masked face dataset. The proposed pruning model (Prune-best) with the highest performance-to-price ratio reduces the number and size of parameters by 75% and 60%, compared with the YOLOv4 model. The reasoning speed of the model decreases by 3.7 ms and its mAP decreases by 2.7%. When the size of the model is 5.56 MB and the number of parameters is 1.428 MB, the mAP of the extreme pruning model (Prune-limit) reaches 0.662 that is 6.3% higher than YOLOv4-tiny, and the number of parameters of the model is only 1/4 of that of YOLOv4-tiny. The experimental results show that the proposed pruning model achieves higher performance-to-price ratio and is more suitable for masked face detection deployment in real scenarios. Neural mechanisms underlying internet gaming disorder (IGD) are important for diagnostic considerations and treatment development. However, neurobiological underpinnings of IGD remain relatively poorly understood. We employed multi-voxel pattern analysis (MVPA), a machine-learning approach, to examine the potential of neural features to statistically predict IGD status and treatment outcome (percentage change in weekly gaming time) for IGD. Cue-reactivity fMRI-task data were collected from 40 male IGD subjects and 19 male healthy control (HC) subjects. 23 IGD subjects received 6 weeks of craving behavioral intervention (CBI) treatment. MVPA was applied to classify IGD subjects from HCs and statistically predict clinical outcomes. MVPA displayed a high (92.37%) accuracy (sensitivity of 90.00% and specificity of 94.74%) in the classification of IGD and HC subjects. The most discriminative brain regions that contribute to classification were the bilateral middle frontal gyrus, precuneus, and posterior lobe of the right cerebellum. MVPA statistically predicted clinical outcomes in the craving behavioral intervention (CBI) group (r = 0.48, p = 0.0032). The most strongly implicated brain regions in the prediction model were the right middle frontal gyrus, superior frontal gyrus, supramarginal gyrus, anterior/posterior lobes of the cerebellum and left postcentral gyrus. Internet gaming disorder (IGD), a worldwide mental health issue, has been widely studied using neuroimaging techniques during the last decade. Although dysfunctions in resting‐state functional connectivity have been reported in IGD, mapping relationships from abnormal connectivity patterns to behavioral measures have not been fully investigated. Connectome‐based predictive modeling (CPM)—a recently developed machine‐learning approach—has been used to examine potential neural mechanisms in addictions and other psychiatric disorders. To identify the resting‐state connections associated with IGD, we modified the CPM approach by replacing its core learning algorithm with a support vector machine. Resting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data were acquired in 72 individuals with IGD and 41 healthy comparison participants. The modified CPM was conducted with respect to classification and regression. A comparison of whole‐brain and network‐based analyses showed that the default‐mode network (DMN) is the most informative network in predicting IGD both in classification (individual identification accuracy = 78.76%) and regression (correspondence between predicted and actual psychometric scale score: r = 0.44, P < 0.001). To facilitate the characterization of the aberrant resting‐state activity in the DMN, the identified networks have been mapped into a three‐subsystem division of the DMN. Studies conducted in drug addiction suggest a transition in processing of drug-related cues from the ventral to the dorsal component of the striatum. However, this process has not been studied in a behavioral addiction. Assessment of this process in a non-drug addiction can provide insight into the pathophysiology of both substance and behavioral addictions. Thirty-nine male Internet gaming disorder (IGD) subjects and 23 male matched healthy controls (HCs) participated in functional magnetic resonance imaging during performance of a cue-reactivity task involving alternating presentation of Internet gaming-related stimuli (game cues) and general Internet surfing-related stimuli (control cues). Cue-induced neural activations in the ventral and dorsal striatum (DS) were compared between IGD and HC participants. Associations between cue-reactivity within these regions and cue-induced craving and severity and duration of IGD were also explored. IGD participants exhibited higher cue-induced activations within both the ventral and DS when compared with HCs. Within the IGD group, activity within the left ventral striatum (VS) was correlated negatively with cue-induced craving; positive associations were found between activations within the DS (right putamen, pallidum and left caudate) and duration of IGD. Cue-induced activity within the left putamen was negatively associated with right VS volumes among IGD participants. Consistent with studies in substance addictions, our results suggest that a transition from ventral to dorsal striatal processing may occur among individuals with IGD, a condition without the impact of substance intake. Since d -glucaric acid was produced by Escherichia coli and other microorganism, the purification of d -glucaric acid has been an important issue for downstream production. This work studied the adsorption of d -glucaric acid by means of seven ion exchange resins and three non-ionic adsorbents. Ion exchange resins showed superiority in adsorption capacity. Their isotherms could be fitted by Freundlich equation at pH 3.9 and Langmuir equation at pH 6.0, respectively. The highest adsorption capacity is 350 mg/mL at pH 3.9 by using 335 ion exchange resin. Compared to ion exchange resins, non-ionic adsorbents showed less capacity and Freundlich isotherm was suitable for both pH conditions. For adsorption kinetics, pore diffusion model and surface diffusion model were combined with Freundlich isotherm to study the uptake rate of ion exchange resins. 335 resin has the pore diffusion coefficient of 18.3 × 10 −10 m 2 /s and the surface diffusion coefficient of 1.29 × 10 −11 m 2 /s. Generally, 335 resin is the best choice for d -glucaric acid adsorption owing to its superior capacity and diffusivity as well. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Decisional impulsivity represents an important phenotype and a therapeutic target in Internet gaming disorder (IGD). Reality therapy and mindfulness meditation were two approaches to reduce impulsivity. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a group behavioral intervention combining reality therapy and mindfulness meditation in reducing decisional impulsivity and IGD severity. Twenty-five IGD and 21 healthy comparison (HC) young adults participated in baseline tests on the delay discounting and balloon analog risk tasks to measure intertemporal and risky decision-making respectively. Among them, 18 IGD subjects participated in the intervention and were tested again at the end of intervention, and 19 HC subjects without intervention were also tested twice within a similar time period. Results indicate that: (1) at baseline, IGD subjects showed greater intertemporal and risky decisional impulsivity than HC subjects; (2) After intervention, IGD subjects were decreased in delay discounting rate and IGD severity, but did not perform differently on decisional impulsivity in risky choices, as compared with baseline. These findings suggest that decisional impulsivity is a multifaceted behavioral construct and may serve as a possible therapeutic target for IGD. In addition, these results highlight the need for further research into the roles of different forms of decisional impulsivity in the shaping, maintenance, and remission of IGD. A new tetranortriterpenoid, named 6-deacetyl-severinolide (1), together with six known tetranortriterpenoids severinolide (2), acetyl-isoepiatalantin (3), 7-isovaleroylcycloepiatalantin (4), cycloepiatalantin (5), 7-isovaleroylcycloseverinolide (6), and atalantin (7), was isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots of Atalantia buxifolia collected in Hainan.
