Two new indole alkaloids, 1-(5-prenyl-1H-indol-3-yl)propan-2-one (1) and 1-(6-methoxy-5-prenyl-1H-indol-3-yl)propan-2-one (2), along with five known ones (3–7) were isolated from the fermentation products of a cigar tobacco-derived endophytic fungus Aspergillus fumigatus. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including extensive 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Compounds 1 and 2 were evaluated for their anti-tobacco mosaic virus (anti-TMV). Herein, by using different size of organic molecules as cation templates, we prepared four new two‐dimensional (2D) lead halide perovskites, [PrPipz]PbBr4 (1), [DMEDA]PbBr4 (2), [TMEDA]0.5[DMA]PbCl4 (3) and [TMA]4Pb3Cl10 (4). Under the distinct structural directing effects of organic cations, compounds 1–4 present four different types of 2D inorganic layers. Remarkably, compounds 1, 3 and 4 exhibit broadband blue emissions, while compound 2 exhibits broadband yellow emission upon the excitation of UV light at room temperature. To explore active natural products against tobacco powdery mildew caused by Golovinomyces cichoracearum , an extract from the fermentation of endophytic Aspergillus fumigatus 0338 was investigated. The mechanisms of action for active compounds were also studied in detail. As a result, 14 indole alkaloid derivatives were isolated, with seven being newly discovered (1 – 7) and the remaining seven previously described (8 – 14). Notably, compounds 1 – 3 are rare linearly fused 6/6/5 tricyclic prenylated indole alkaloids, with asperversiamide J being the only known natural product of this kind. The isopentenyl substitutions at the 5-position in compounds 4 and 5 are also rare, with only compounds 1-(5-prenyl-1 H -indol-3-yl)-propan-2-one (8) and 1-(6-methoxy-5-prenyl-1 H -indol3-yl)-propan-2-one currently available. In addition, compounds 6 and 7 are new framework indole alkaloid derivatives bearing a 6-methyl-1,7-dihydro-2 H -azepin-2-one ring. The purified compounds were evaluated for their activity against G. cichoracearum , and the results revealed that compounds 7 and 9 demonstrated obvious anti- G. cichoracearum activities with an inhibition rate of 82.6% and 85.2%, respectively, at a concentration of 250 μg/mL, these rates were better than that of the positive control agent, carbendazim (78.6%). The protective and curative effects of compounds 7 and 9 were also better than that of positive control, at the same concentration. Moreover, the mechanistic study showed that treatment with compound 9 significantly increased the structural tightness of tobacco leaves and directly affect the conidiospores of G. cichoracearum , thereby enhancing resistance. Compounds 7 and 9 could also induce systemic acquired resistance (SAR), directly regulating the expression of defense enzymes, defense genes, and plant semaphorins, which may further contribute to increased plant resistance. Based on the activity experiments and molecular dockings, the indole core structure may be the foundation of these compounds' anti- G. cichoracearum activity. Among them, the indole derivative parent structures of compounds 6 , 7 , and 9 exhibit strong effects. Moreover, the methoxy substitution in compound 7 can enhance their activity. By isolating and structurally identifying the above indole alkaloids, new candidates for anti-powdery mildew chemical screening were discovered, which could enhance the utilization of N. tabacum -derived fungi in pesticide development. In this study, seven novel anthraquinones (1 – 7) and four described anthraquinones (8 – 11) were purified from Nicotiana tabacum -derived Aspergillus oryzae YNCA1220. It is worth noting that only analogs of 4 and 5 have been reported as natural products to date, while the nuclei of compounds 1 – 3 , 6 and 7 were isolated for the first time in nature. Among them, compounds 1 – 3 bear an unusual anthra[2,3- b ]furan-9,10-dione nucleus, 4 and 5 possess a rare 3-methyl-1 H -pyrrol-2-yl substituent, and 6 and 7 are new framework anthraquinones bearing a 6-methyl-1,7-dihydro-2 H -azepin-2-one ring. Interestingly, the in vivo assays indicated that 1 , 4 and 5 had inactivation effects against tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) with inhibition rates of 41.6%, 55.4% and 38.6%, respectively, at a concentration of 50 μg/mL, which were better than that of the positive control agent, ningnanmycin (33.8%). Compounds 1 , 4 and 5 also had protective effects with inhibition rates of 48.7%, 60.2% and 43.5% at the same concentration, while 4 had a better curative effect than ningnanmycin at a concentration of 100 μg/mL. In addition, mechanistic studies also revealed that a potent direct effect on TMV, the induction of SAR in tobacco plants, and the effective regulation of defense enzymes, defense genes, and defense hormones may be the reasons for the significant effects of 4 against TMV. At the same time, downregulation of the expression of total NtHsp70 protein by inhibiting the related Hsp70 genes may also be involved in tobacco resistance to TMV. To evaluate whether compounds have broader antiviral activities, the antirotavirus activities of new isolates were also evaluated and found to be highly effective with a therapeutic index (TI) value ranging from 11.6 to 17.7. This study suggests that the above anthraquinone compounds, particularly 4 , have broad spectrum antiviral activities. The successful isolation and structure identification of the above anthraquinones provide new materials for the screening of anti-TMV agents and contribute to the improved utilization of N. tabacum -derived fungi. Low-dimensional hybrid antimony halide perovskites have fascinated the extensive research for their excellent photoluminescence behaviors. However, reasonable optimization of luminescence performance through molecule-level structural regulation remains a formidable challenge. The solution evaporation method with the reaction of organic amines and acid solutions of metal salts is a well-established method for the synthetic of low-dimensional hybrid antimony halide. In this work, by selecting organic cations with different sizes as template molecules, we have successfully synthesized three hybrid antimony halides of 0D [HDBA] 2 SbCl 5 (1), 0D [H 2 ATMP] 2 SbCl 7 (2) and 1D [H 3 PMDETA]Sb 2 Cl 9 (3) (DBA ​= ​dibutylamine, ATMP ​= ​4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine, PMDETA = N,N,N′,N″,N″-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine). by the solution evaporation method at room temperature for 2–5 days. These hybrid antimony halides exhibit broadband yellow-light with the highest photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 8.38%. According to detailed spectroscopy characterizations and theoretical calculations, the broadband light emissions should originate from self-trapped excitons (STEs). These antimony halides could be fabricated as white LEDs with highest color rendering index (>90%). The intrinsic broad-band light emissions and facile assembly process enable these hybrid antimony halides as promising candidates for yellow-light emitting materials. In recent years, organic-inorganic hybrid metal halides were given tremendous attention in solid-state lighting fields owing to diversified structures and excellent photoluminescence performances. In this work, we report three isostructural organic–inorganic hybrid lead silver bimetallic halides of [Pb(PDA) 2 ] 2 Ag 2 X 6 (X ​= ​Cl (1), Br (2), I (3)) by choosing organic amine of 1,2-propanediamine (PDA) as ligand. In their crystal structure, dimeric [Ag 2 X 6 ]4- anions are bridged by [Pb(PDA) 2 ]2+ complex cations via weak Pb-X bonds to form three-dimensional [Pb(PDA) 2 ] 2 Ag 2 X 6 network. Despite the crystal structures of iodide phase has been reported, the luminescence properties of this system remain not yet characterized. Excitedly, under UV light excitation, compounds 2 displays broad-band yellow light emissions with highest photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 2.26% among three samples. By coating sample of compound 2 on a blue chip, a white light emitting diode (LED) can be easily obtained. Herein, we utilized a bi-connected TDC ligands as bridging ligand to successfully build one new type of pillared-layer MOF, namely as Zn 3 (TDC) 4 ·2DMA, in which the TDC ligands act as bridging group both in and between Zn 3 (TDC) 2 layer. Two new stilbenes, 5-methoxy-6-(4-methoxystyryl)-3-methylbenzofuran (1) and 5-methoxy-6-(4- hydroxystyryl)-3-methylbenzofuran (2), together with six known ones, bauhiniastatin D (3), gramideoxybenzoin B (4), gramistilbenoid A (5), gramistilbenoid B (6), gramniphenol H (7), and pterostilbene (8), were isolated from the whole plants of Arundina graminifolia. Their structures were established by their 1D, 2D NMR, and MS spectral data. Compounds 1 and 2 were tested for their anti-SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) activity. A new isoprenylated flavone, 8,4′-dimethoxy-6-(4′′-methylfuran-2-yl)-flavone (1), together with five known isoprenylated flavones (2–6) were isolated from the twigs of Artocarpus chama. Interestingly, compound 1 is a rare flavone bearing an unusual 4-methylfuran-2-yl moiety. The anti-tobacco mosaic virus (anti-TMV) activities assay revealed that compound 1 showed obvious anti-TMV activity with an inhibition rate of 40.2% ± 2.8, and this rate is obviously higher than that of the positive control (with an inhibition rate of 35.1 ± 2.6). Compounds 2–6 also showed potential anti-TMV activities with inhibition rates in the range of 23.5–30.2%, respectively. In addition, to evaluate whether the isoprenylated flavones have more broad antiviral activity, compounds 1–6 were also tested for their anti-rotavirus activities. The results revealed that compounds 1–6 exhibited potential anti-rotavirus activities with therapeutic index (TI) values in the range of 13.0–19.9. Two new β-carboline alkaloids, 1-acetyl-6-hydroxymethyl-7-methoxy-β-carboline (1) and 1-acetyl-6- hydroxymethyl-8-methoxy-β-carboline (2), together with four known ones (3–6) were isolated from the cigar tobacco (a variety of Nicotiana tabacum L.)-derived endophytic fungi Aspergillus sp. In our search for new bioactive metabolites from plants of Cassia genus, the phytochemical investigation on the whole plants of C. rotundifolia was carried out, and that led to the isolation of two new (1 and 2) and five known (3–7) chromones. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including extensive 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Rationally optimizing the photoluminescence performance via accurate structural modulation is one of most important and challenging issues for hybrid halides. Herein, a viable crystal dimensional reduction strategy is proposed to reasonably enhance the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of hybrid antimony halide. Specifically, a synthetic technique is developed and new 1D [DMPZ]SbCl5 ∙ H2O (DP‐SbCl5) is sliced to 0D [DMPZ]2SbCl6 ∙ Cl ∙ (H2O)2 (DP‐SbCl6) with crystal dimensional reduction from infinite [SbCl5]2− chain to discrete [SbCl6]3− octahedron. Comparing with nonluminescent 1D DP‐SbCl5, 0D DP‐SbCl6 displays highly efficient broadband yellow light emission with enhanced PLQY up to 75.94%. First‐principles calculation demonstrates that 0D DP‐SbCl6 features more flat and narrow band structure, which promotes the photoelectron localization and increases the quantum confinement, and finally boosts the luminescence efficiency. Together highly efficient and ultra‐stable luminescence performance enable DP‐SbCl6 as excellent down‐conversion broadband yellow phosphor to successfully fabricate white light emitting diodes with a high color rendering index of 92. Low-dimensional hybrid lead halides have emerged as new-generation optoelectronic materials due to their compelling photoluminescence properties, and it is significant to explore new type of hybrid halides to diversify the photophysical performances. Herein, by using different kinds of organic cations as structural decoration strategies, we designed two new lead bromides, namely [MeBAPIm]2Pb3Br12 (1) ([MeBAPIm] = 2-methyl-1,3-bis (3-aminopropyl) imidazolidine) and [PMDPTA]2Pb3Br12 (2) (PMDPTA = pentamethyldipropene triamine), via a facile solvothermal reaction. Both the structures of these hybrids contain the same linear [Pb3Br12]6− trimers based on face-shared [PbBr6] octahedrons. Upon UV light excitation, compound 1 displays broadband yellow light emission covering the entire visible spectra with a promising photoluminescence quantum efficiency (PLQE) of 4.57%. The broadband light emission can be ascribed to the self-trapped excitons based on systematical characterizations including steady-state, temperature-dependent and time-resolved emission spectra. It remains significant to explore new types of hybrid lead halides to realize the diversifications of structural and luminescence properties due to the excellent optoelectronic performances of perovskites. Herein, by choosing various organic molecules as cationic templates, we constructed a series of new one-dimensional (1D) lead halide perovskites, namely, [DMEDA]Pb2Br6·H2O (1), [ATMPD]Pb2Br6·H2O (2) and [TMPrDA]2Pb3X10 (3: X = Br; 4: X = Cl). In recent years, low-dimensional organic–inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskites have been explored as photoluminescent (PL) materials with high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies and tunable band structures arising from the structural regulating functions of organic cations. Herein, by using a simple solution reaction, we prepared one new type of one-dimensional (1D) hybrid lead halide, namely [DMEDA]PbCl4 (DMEDA = N,N′-dimethylethylenediamine). The compound contains 1D edge sharing octahedral lead chloride [PbCl4]2− anionic chains, which are surrounded and separated by organic cations of [DMEDA]2+. This 1D structure enables the formation of self-trapped excited states that give bright yellow emission with a photoluminescence quantum efficiency (PLQE) of approximately 4.81%. A white light emitting device can also be easily fabricated by coating a sample of [DMEDA]PbCl4 on a blue light chip. Its PL stability and nature are also investigated by using various experiments. One new type of 3D pillared-layer MOF has been synthesized based on single organic linker with high adsorption capabilities for various hydrocarbon gas and promising CO 2 /CH 4 selectivity. • One new type of 3D pillared-layer framework was prepared by using single indazole-carboxyl liand. • The organic connects metal trimer into 2D layer and further bridges 2D layer resulting in 3D framework. • The unique framework architecture displays high gas adsorption and promising CO 2 /CH 4 selectivity. Despite of absence of open metal sites as molecule binding positions, this 3D framework displays promising uptake capacity and separation ability for various hydrocarbon gas molecules. By using in situ N-alkylating [(Me) 2 -2,2-bipy]2+ organic cation as structural-directing agent (SDA), two new types of organic-inorganic hybrid cuprous halides, namely, [(Me) 2 -2,2-bipy]Cu 3 I 5 (1) and [(Me) 2 -bipy)] 2 Cu 7 Br 9 I 2 (2) , have been solvothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. The compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P 2 1 / n (No. 147) and features one-dimensional (1D) anionic [Cu 3 I 5 2- chains separated by [(Me) 2 -2,2-bipy]2+ cations. The structure of compound 2 contains a 1D [Cu 7 Br 9 I 2 2- anionic chain, which belongs to the first hybrid cuprous halide with mixed halogen elements. The UV–vis absorption optical measurement reveals that the compounds possesses narrow band gaps of 1.95–2.14 ​eV, which leads to stable photocatalytic degradation activity over organic pollutant under visible light irradiation. The possible photocatalytic mechanism and reason of photochemical stability is also proposed based on experimental results and electronic band structural calculation. By using photosensitivity conjugated organic cations as structural template, we prepared two types of cuprous halides, namely as, [(Me) 2 -2,2-bipy]Cu 3 I 5 and [(Me) 2 -bipy)] 2 Cu 7 Br 9 I 2 , with one-dimensional anionic [Cu 3 I 5 2- and [Cu 7 Br 9 I 2 2- anionic chains charge balanced by [(Me) 2 -2,2-bipy]2+ cations. The photosensitization of conjugated organic cations leads to narrow band gaps of 1.95 eV–2.13 ​eV, which result in stable photocatalytic degradation activity over organic pollutant under visible light irradiation. Cellulase has many potential applications in ethanol production, extraction of medicinal ingredients, food, brewing, oil exploration, environmental protection. However, the widespread use of cellulase is limited by its relatively high production costs and low biological activity. Therefore, we studied the enzymatic properties and reusability of cellulase immobilized on multiwalled carbon nanotubes and sodium alginate for the first time. The results showed that the optimum temperature and pH of immobilized cellulase was 40 °C and 3.0, respectively. After 1 month of storage at 4 °C, the enzyme activity of immobilized cellulase dropped to 71.2% of the baseline. Immobilized cellulase was proved to be reusable and maintained ~ 70% of its activity after 7 cycles of repeated use. Versus free cellulase, the immobilized cellulase showed good thermal stability, pH resistance, storage stability and reusability, which could be beneficial in large-scale industrial manufacturing processes.
